Today was payday and an even better coincidence, Sookie was off work. These two things never happened on the same day, but today, it seemed luck was on her side. With this new found luck, Sookie was in the mood to shop. She needed new clothes, well, deserved them. Especially since she was going to be going out sometime soon. She hoped.
Going to the mall was always hard for Sookie, given her little disability. But with some practice, she had been able to block people out, thought sometimes a few things entered her mind. These were not things she cared to know, like I need something for my date tomorrow or Do I need to get something for my kids and not just myself. These were the daily thoughts of people in a mall. Mindless. But she vowed to shut it out and find a nice pretty dress for the summer and maybe something else. Bargain of course.

I am such a dummy. Out of all the things going on, I forgot to ask what I'm supposed to wear. I'm terrified of vampires, N' here I am going to a bar. The ramble of a thought had clouded her brain, softly inhaling a silent breath and wandered into the department clothing area. At least some kind of "NORMAL" activity should: Be relaxing: I.E. just looking at different clothing. Despite having a specific purpose for today, again a thought appeared. It's for Emily and her weasel brother. The reasoning of agreeing to go to a bar, she held a look of annoyance on her face; she just couldn't focus right! With a shake of her forehead, her eyebrows would sink a little, "Just get a grip." Haylee muttered to herself and began to browse the store.

Sookie was looking at the little rack of 50 percent off, her favorite thing. Though she made enough to live on, she was still a sucker for sales. Especially when they had the cutest little summer dresses. As she was browsing, a girl, who looked rather frazzled began to search the racks. This girl was emoting like crazy, something about vampires and wanting to look good. Could it be a fangbanger? Or just another girl who herself loved a vampire? The latter Sookie could relate too, though she did share blood with Bill and had taken in some of Eric, which was doing her some good. She was still no fangbanger since she was wanted by the vampires, in more ways than one.
Feeling in a good mood, Sookie spoke to the frazzled girl, "They sure do have some good sales on cute little dresses huh? Alot of good dresses for going out, and half price. What could be better?" She had her famous smile and southern charm on her side. For some reason, Sookie was drawn into this girl, who she did not know, was it the vampire thought? Was Sookie wanting to be a help to a fellow vamp dater?

Haylee blinked and slightly fidgeted with a random garment, one that she had picked up whenever hearing a voice in close proximity of her own. For some reason, it was incredibly soothing and kind that affected Haylee. Enough to cease her fidgeting, to listen to everything being said and managed to smile. She didn't even know her previous behavior had been seen, which kind of bugged her. Hopefully, she wouldn't be seen as high strung or weird for it, when noting on it. "It's been kinda, well a weird day for me." Oh, that was only the half of it and then shook her forehead. That didn't matter anymore; what did matter: Was taking into account of what had been said.
Directing her stare towards some of the clothing that was within reasonable site. "I haven't looked at the prices, but shoot, I do agree on some of these dresses being cute! Only thing better is finding shoes to boot." Briefly after she spoke, again with another thought. I wonder if I have to wear black? Maybe just a dark color! Because all I have, are these cowboy boots. Hopefully they would stare at the outfit and not her shoes, though she wasn't thinking about another aspect. Them staring at her veins. Who said that shopping couldn't fix things? Then one final thought to close on, It's weird but, I've never had this feeling before. I felt relaxed. She sure is nice.

Sookie smiled at the girl "Shoes, yes, the maker of a dress!" She said with a hint of vampire lingo in there, maybe to spark up some conversation. For some reason, Sookie felt an urge to get to know this girl. One thing she believed was that nothing in life just happened by coincidence, it all happened for a reason. A peak into her mind was not a bad thing, given she was really just stressed about what to wear. So, Sookie, not wanting to scare her, decided to start it herself.
"I looking for a dress to wear to" and she lowered her voice "Fangtasia. There is this event that Ill have to go to soon, and one should always look nice when going there. But not too nice so you dont get eat up!" She gave a little giggle and looked towards the girl for a reaction. Sookie had been known to freak people out with her habit of knowing things, but she was used to it.

Naive to a certain fault, perhaps her greatest weakness. Or maybe some liked Haylee just the way she was, as she missed the vampire lingo being spoken. Don't get her wrong, she had discovered a few vampire related things, but most other items she wasn't exposed to. Such as the endearing word of "maker" and what it really meant to a vampire. Still, Haylee managed to bring a smile to her lips upon hearing the comment about shoes. Feeling glad to have a mutual agreement on shoes, as they really did make the dress! What came next from the stranger's line of statements, well it was more then a surprise.
It was a total shock! With a solid blink, Haylee tried to remove the said feeling and look of shock, though her brain would say other wise. No.... way! I can't believe it. Obviously, some humans went to vampire bars; or else she wouldn't been have invited to go. At least that's what she figured and exhaled a breath, at the moment: She felt like the only person in this area to be involved with something undead. "Shoot, I'm sorry. I-well, I didn't mean to gawk. It's just a bizarre coincidence!" Haylee began to speak, although she could slap her forehead for speaking so loud. She didn't need to bring any attention toward herself. Or toward the polite stranger that was speaking to her either.
"Because I was invited, er-more like agreed to accompany a vampire. To a few bars, N' I think that may be one of them. I wasn't think'n enough to ask." Haylee then chuckled a bit late toward the last comment of "looking good enough to eat", so to speak. Even though it was in good humor with this person, she hoped it wouldn't be a reality. If asked, she wouldn't keep it a secret: She was a terrible liar anyhow. She was terrified of vampires, just her luck to be in a place full of them. Though, like she pointed out: She always honored her debts and promises. She would accompany Stan. 'Hey, I uh know! Maybe we can pick out something for one another?"

Sookie did not understand why she felt the need to interact with this girl. It was as if it were meant to be that they both be here. As the girl gawked, Sookie could not help but smile. "Well, I always think everything happenes for a reason. There aren't any coincidences." She smiled again as she spotted a cute little red dress. Thinking of the first time she went to Fangtasia, wearing her red dress. Boy did she gain some attention, that was the first time she met Eric too. And for some reason he was still in her life. Quickly she moved her mind back to the conversation.
The girl was invited to Fangtasia, must have been by a vampire. So Sookie wanted to make sure she knew the way it worked. "Well, if you were invited then you want to look your best. Thats for sure. Something cute, something attractive. Ya know?" She looked at the red dress. Thinking it might suit her. For some reason, Sookie was about to spill some more. "Ya know" and she lowered her voice a little, "I date a vampire. Bill Compton is his name. He took me to Fangtasia for my first time. Ive been a few times. Its not the place to go without knowing things" She smiled, as maybe more would come out later. The girl got all spunky and said lets pick things out. This, having not had a sister and a best friend who loathes shopping, was a nice surprise. "I'd love too. I actually was thinking this red dress would be great!" She picked it up to show the girl. "By the way, Im Sookie, Sookie Stackhouse. What's your name?"

It would be a strange coincidence, perhaps, that the place where Brandy ended up working was in the very dress store that Sookie and Haylee currently occupied. She had just come back from her break when she saw the two unfamiliar-faces by the clothing rack. Her boss, Kathy, had poked her on the shoulder.
"Go help those girls. Try and get them to buy something not on the bargain bin."
"Huh? Oh great, of all the places to work in - I get the pushy boss."
"Uh.. yeah of course"
Brandy had always been uncomfortable trying to 'upsell' to people. If you worked in a shoe store you were expected to sell the matching bag, in a clothing store you were suppose to sell the $50.00 dollar shirt rather than the $10.00 one. Even as Brandy approached, she caught their conversation - and over heard Sookie introduce herself.
'Holy nuts! That is Sookie Stackhouse? It has to be the girl Pam was prodding me about, who is that with her? I wonder if they are both going to Fangtasia...'
Brandy wore her best smile as she approached the two pretty girls.
"Hello ladies, is there anything I can help you with? Maybe put a couple of dresses in the change room for you?"
From the back she heard her boss clear her throat and Brandy only managed to roll her eyes. Unfortunately, if she didn't at least mention it she would probably get scolded for it.
"And uh.. we also have the new fall collection that just came in.. "
'That will do pig, that will do.'

Sookie was ruffling through some more dresses when she heard a direct mention of her name. She looked up rather fast to see a girl, with very exotic features, walking their way. She seemed to work here, but to know of Sookie. It frightened her a little bit, but heck, she was in a store. Hopefully she would be safe. Seemed she was well know, for some odd reason. Was it because of her and Bill or her affiliation with the vampires of Sherveport? Who knew?
There was a chipper tone to her voice. "I think we are fine here. You know, sales and all! Just looking for some cute summery dresses." She replied with a bright smile. Through that chipper tone, there was a hint of frustration in her thoughts, and the last one that entered her mind solidified it. "Ah, fall collection. Well, Im looking for something more for now, ya know." She looked at the girl who she was waiting to learn the name, the one who Sookie felt an attraction too. Not a sexual one, but the kind where you feel you already know the person. "I like sales. But thank you for the help, it is greatly appreciated!" She smiled at the sales girl and looked over to her boss with a sort of smack in the face kind of look to force the poor girl to sell the expensive clothing to the customers.

What other purpose did life have for the death of her mother? Frankly, her feeling could only gather one thing, that "it" (death) was untimely and unfair. . So if nothing was mere chance, everything that happened was all for this moment? That lead just her, to somehow meet a stranger, that didn't feel like much of one. Maybe so. "I didn't mean to look like a space-case, I was just think'n about what you said." Technically, she didn't think at all about the coincidences; it was just her feelings rolling around, reacting to the subject. So, if a person was invited to a vampire bar, you'd want to look your best. Haylee nodded gently to those words, figuring it made sense. As you'd want to look nice enough for a bar establishment. Which was sort of the whole reason that got her flustered in the first place.
A manner of dress, not to mention on how to act....
What came next from the stranger, happened to be a real shocker! She was dating a vampire, which lead her to wonder how it was like. Especially if you couldn't enjoy the warm, perfect glow of the sun. Boy, she really wanted to ask a question! Then again, she didn't want to bug the woman. Maybe she got asked that question a boatload of times. Once she managed to chuckle, Haylee got back on track as the stranger introduced herself. I could use some help on figuring things out, more then you know. A whole lot of help. "Its nice to meet you Sookie, I'm Haylee Redford!" It was kind of awkward, she felt laidback and she didn't even use the polite "miss." It was like she had known her all of her life. Haylee was ecstatic when hearing that Sookie agreed to her idea! A dress for a dress, she could hardly wait. Sookie had picked out a red dress, it was the same color of blood.
Should you wear that to a vampire bar?
Then again, Sookie did say that it was important to look nice. When she took everything else away, it was a really gorgeous dress! How could she not take a good look at it? Before she could glance around for something that could fit Sookie, they were approached by what appeared to be an employee. Asking if they could put a few dresses in the dressing rooms for them, even informing them about the fall collection. It's a tempting offer, but I think we're good, Miss. A budget is a budget for a reason. So, it was kinda silly to pay a fortune on certain things. Before she had answered, Sookie had taken the words out of her mouth. It was almost uncanny, but she wanted to be polite and to at least speak to the woman that had approached them. Time for a dress! Haylee glimpsed around a little and zoned right in for something. "Whatcha think, Sookie?" It was a lite colored dress, a shade of white that she couldn't pin the name on, though it had a mini cherry motif! To her, it looked perfect for summer. Or if one could sow; you could dress it up even more for a evening!

Eh, well, she tried didn't she? At least she could offer that much. She ended up catching the names of the two in the passing, but she was still standing there almost awkwardly. This was because the thought of Pam being so intrigued by Sookie was egging in her mind and she couldn't shake it...
It was a nasty habit of her's sometimes, and she couldn't help but to clear her throat and randomly pick out a cashmere sweater which matched the dress Hayley had picked out for Sookie.
"Here, this one is on sale as well. But listen, Sookie, I hate to interrupt but you know Pam right? Pam from Fangtasia? I met her the other night and she so surprised that I didn't know you. So, I wanted to make a point to know you."
'Do I tell her that I'm a witch? She probably wouldn't care anyway. I wonder if this girl knows Jason or Sam? d**n BB, you are being really rude'
"Well uh, now I know you. And um.. Haylee was it? Please excuse my rudeness. Around the corner, just outside, there is a newspaper bin with an ad that you bring in for 15% off anything in the store. Including bargains. The boss stuffed them all underneath the bin."
'There, now I feel a little better. And what a coincidence, the boss is due for yet another smoke break.. this job is such a downer.'
She smiled at the girls and walked back to the till, somehow knowing this wouldn't be the last she would be seeing Sookie Stackhouse or Haylee Redford.

Sookie smiled at Haylee, whom she know knew her name. "Haylee, thats a nice name." Sookie said as she looked at the dress that she had chosen. "Funny thing. Ive got one kind of similar to this, I love it! Ill take that one. Maybe some cute white or red shoes to go with it too!" She smiled thinking of how she could make this work. "You like the red? I think it would really work well for you, especially being your first time at fangtasia. It would show that you aint afraid and you have the power. The blood that keeps them happy!" She said with a smile, knowing it was always good to never show fear at a vampire bar.
Then the sales clerk showed her a cute little sweater that matched the dress Haylee picked out. "Oh, thats cute. Thanks." Then the girl continued. About Pam of all people. Maybe this was some kind of setup or something. "Yeah, I know her. And wow, Pam speaking of me! Thats just crazy." Sookie kind of giggled to herself, but enough for someone to hear outloud. "Well, as ya know Im Sookie. I just can't see Pam talkin bout me unless she needed to send message that Eric needed me for something!" Then the girl brought up a special deal on even more bargains. Looks like Sookie might get alittle more than she thought today. Sookie was sure she heard the sales girl think something about Sam and Jason, her brother. But she held off on the freaking out with telepathy, unless Pam somehow told her, and if so. Wow. "Haylee, these deals, looks like we are in for a bargain." She said with a smile thinking of getting the sweater and dress in one.

Huh, she didn't even notice the cashmere sweater, that had been within the bargain area. It appeared to be lovely and it really did go with the item that she had picked out. "Thanks!" Although, it wouldn't mean a bunch; if Sookie didn't like what she picked out for her. Ah, only time could tell! Speaking of which, it seemed like the sales assistant was speaking with Sookie. Maybe about something personal, try as she might: It was a little hard to mind her business. Being that she was in close range and before Haylee knew it, the person had spoken to her. Telling her about the ad to bring in for the fifteen percent off deal, Who could beat that? Haylee thought and didn't really mind the interruption.
It was nice to meet new people. Plus, she wasn't rude. All was good. Perhaps in a few moments, she would leave to get a add for herself. Maybe even Sookie, if she didn't have the add herself. Haylee smiled toward Sookie, whom commented on her name. Sure, it was lovely until you got jokes about Hay or something else. Bah! Still, it was kind of unusal for a name but loved it. As soon as she heard Sookie tell her that she had something similar at home, she assumed the worst. Yet, Haylee was pleasantly surprised to hear that Sookie would take to it! She glowed to the response, it was nice to be cheerful. Again, more personal stuff that she couldn't tune out.
Stuff that made her wonder on whom Pam or Eric were. "Bargain? Try steal'n." Haylee chuckled but stopped herself with a blink, "Shoot, not that I'm complain'n. Means I can get some shoes now!" Smiling or more like grinning from ear to ear before glancing around for said shoes. Maybe even a necklace or some earrings! Nah, shouldn't be greedy. All she needed was a dress and some shoes, then a necklace. Speaking of meeting new people, she'd hate to call the person a "Sales" assistant over and over again. Now looking toward Brandy. "What's your name, if you don't mind me ask'n?"

Brandy had kept her distance as to not bother the shopping girls - she hated pushy salespeople so she refused to be one herself. She had made her presence known, offered to help, and gave them an extra deal cause she felt bad for interrupting their visiting together. (And that wasn't because she thought she ruined a sale - commission was nice, but morals were nicer).
Haylee had spoke, and by the tone of her voice it was directed toward her.
"What's your name, if you don't mind me ask'n?"
Oh, she should of had a name tag shouldn't she? She hated the things though because customers who wanted 'center attention' for any reason would often use your name to intimidate you.
"Oh, it's Brandy"
Unfortunately for her, she couldn't go around with the name "BB" on her name tag because it wasn't 'professional'.

Sookie was looking at a few more bargains on the self, with the new found information of having even more percent off. To a girl, this was almost better than anything. Sale, sale, sale. There was this little blue sweater that she thought would look really nice for the fall, but then again she had to pay a bill. Though there was the sale. Wow, her mind was really working on a circle that had no meaning. Haylee had asked the sales clerk her name, which, why had Sookie not thought of this herself. Brandy, or BB, what a cute name. So today, on her little trip, she met two girls new to Bon Temps that were proving to be great people. It was a successful day.
"So Haylee, whatcha think of the red? Why are ya going to Fangtasia anyway? Is it a date or just for fun?" Sookie asked as she pulled the clothes Haylee had picked off the rack and the sweater from BB and decided to try them on. Which, once decided, Haylee would most likely do too. Was BB familiar with Fangtasia? Well she would have to be since she knew Pam. And Pam? What was up with her as of late, talking bout Sookie to people? It was strange yet fun at the same time.
