"Good night, Sam." Lafayette called over to his boss as he walked out of the bar. It was half past midnight and it was finally closing time. It had been a long day at work and Lafayette could not wait to go to sleep. He walked dazily over to his car and opened the door. In his daze, he dropped his keys. "Motherf**king tired." He muttered and bent down to pick up the keys. "Where the motherf**k are you?" He asked himself and the keys, completely pressing his body to the ground.
Finally, he found them and got back up. Cursing more, he got into his car and shut the door behind him. Unaware of what was going on around him, Lafayette turned on the car and turned on the radio, dancing to the song before he drove. Sam had already turned off the sign so Lafayette was in complete darkness, save for his car headlights. He was wearing a very colorful shirt that made his arms look tattooed from a distance, a do rag, black pants and black boots. As usual, his nails were painted black.

Eric was watching Lafayette long before he decided to make his presence known. He was intriqued by this human; at least enough to let him continue living and selling vampire blood. Of course Sookie had a big hand in ensuring the man's freedom but that was neither here or there.
"Evening," he said, in a tone almost merry as he appeared behind Lafaytte. He had done that intentionally, it wouldn't be as fun if he didn't get to scare a human or two.
"I trust that everything is going according to plan on our little business partnership," Eric asked, aiming for a nonchalant tone. True Godric was dead but he still wanted to know who was bying vampire blood in this area so they could be dealt with accordingly.

Lafayette just about jumped out of his skin when he heard Eric's voice. He turned around to see the old blonde Vampire standing there, sure enough. "What the f**k is it with Vampires and motherf**kin' sneaking up on people?" He asked both himself and Eric, turning down the radio and then turning back around to face the Vampire. He rested his hand on his forehead and said, "Yeah our deal is going according to motherf**kin' plan."

"Calm down human. I'm not here to eat you," Eric mocked the black man's reaction. It amused him greatly.
"Here, fresh vampire blood. Not mine obviously, but I'm sure it will do for this purpose," Eric drawled handing Lafayette three vials of V. It had come from a new vampire who had been hanging out at Fangtasia, desperate for his attentions. Lowly vampire but had served his purpose.
"You know what to do. Remember, this is between us. No more slips like the kind you had with Bill. Tell anyone else and the basement will feel like a five star resort in comparison," Eric said, his voice deep and menacing.

Lafayette took the three vials reluctantly without looking at Eric. He put them down in his car and practically froze at Eric's mention of that blasted basement dungeon. Lafayette was still suffering PTSD, post traumatic stress disorder and also had a fear of guns and being locked up, even the mere mention of being locked up traumatized him. "I's won't." He promised without saying the actual word. No motherf**kin' way is my black ass going to that motherf**ker.

"Good boy Lafayette. I don't think I need to tell you how seriously I take this. Any unfortunate mishap will not please me." Eric said, his voice still dangerously low and ruthless. Lafayette to him was a pawn in a game that was more important than the human knew.
"Be a good little foot solder and you will be rewarded. Or actually, you won't go back into my basemess," Eric laughed, getting a kick out of how out of it Lafayette was looking. The experience had obviously shocked the other man which was going to be very useful to him.

Lafayette raised his dark eyebrows. Bill's boy Eric was definitely a bit.ch. Somebody gotta slap this bit.ch. He thought to himself, knowing that it would definitely not be him that did the slapping. He put the vials in his bag while Eric talked, temporarily freezing at his mention of his basement. "What kind of reward we talking?" He said finally, still refusing to look at Eric's eyes and face.

"What kind of reward we talking?
"You are under my protection now, which is a very valuable thing. You're also in the process of gaining my trust which is a rare commodity to a human. I'm the sheriff of this area and being a human who holds my trust, is a reward unlike anything you have ever known." Eric explained, his voice more relaxed and less threatening. This partnership could be very lucrative for the both of them.
"Just don't f*ck it up. I hate when human's f*ck up a good thing," Eric reminded, this asserting his authority over the other man.

Lafayette was just plain confused at Eric's words. After everything that happened those faithful three weeks, here Eric was telling him that he was under the Vampire's protection. This shocked, scared and slightly flattered Lafayette. There was still one thing that he did not get. "What the f**k is a sheriff?" Lafayette asked, raising his hand to scratch his head. "Is it really now?" He asked again, choosing to ignore Eric's telling him to not f**k it up. However, Lafayette very well knew he wouldn't f**k this up, not for a billion dollars or a billion way older homosexual men.

"What the f**k is a sheriff?"
"Think of me as a president of all vampire activity in this area, area 5. Nothing goes on in here without my say so." Eric said, slighty amused by the question. No one had ever really asked him that before, not really anyway.
"Look, those weeks in the basement should tell you that I don't talk just to hear myself talk. What I say, goes," Eric reminded the man, his tone was more humourous than threaning though.

Lafayette just looked plain old confused. "You's really important..." He began, not fully realizing how important Eric truly was. "Even for humans?" He asked, also not understanding why he was having a conversation with a schemful Vampire, who had tricked Lafayette into drinking his "motherf**kin' blood." Lafayette flinched again at the mention of the basement, talk about post traumatic stress disorder to the maximum. "No, you's don't." He clarified.

"Yes, I am of great importance in this area. Sheriff's are in theirs. With human's, it's a bit more complicated usually but they learn to respect me or they are taught the lesson of respect. I don't play games when it comes to vampire rights and laws," Eric reminded Lafayette. While he did indeed enjoy playing with people's lives, Eric took his duties very seriously.
"I'm serious about this venture. It is important to find the people buying and dealing V, I will not have that in my area." Eric said with conviction.

"Aight." Lafayette said finally, understanding what Eric meant...well, sort of. "I's know, I's saw." He said and then changed the subject because the current subject still traumatized him. "How...uh....Pam doin'?" He asked politely, remembering the last time he met the female Vampire. He looked down at his leg that had been shot by Ginger then looked back towards Eric, making sure to avoid his eyes.

"Pam is Pam. Loyal as always. I value that in everyone, in humans and in vampires," Eric said smoothly, again throwing a hint in Lafayette's direction. He knew it must have been traumatic in the basement but did not comment further.
"I know we got started on the wrong foot Lafayette but Sookie values you greatly which gives me reason to think you will be valuable to me. People who are valuable, don't end up in the basement." Eric said, almost gleefully. He was enjoying this, having Lafayette exactly where he wanted him.

Lafayette nodded awkwardly and bit his tongue to keep from saying anything else about Pam. "I's was in that motherf**ker cause you's found out I was selling V." He said in a dry tone. "And now?" What the f**k is it with Vampires? He asked himself. But he knew he had no choice and looked down at the three vials of V again. "Who I got to give it to?" He asked.
