What a perfect night to practice her magic. The moon was round and full - a heavenly pearl in the sky. The full moon was always remarkable, and it was the night where her magic was at its fullest. If she was going to start teaching herself, then tonight would be the right night to do it.
She wasn't the only one basking in the glow of that beautiful moon, reluctantly she wasn't able to be with Sam that night due to.. the unforeseen circumstances that the full moon had on shifters and were's alike. He was distant, as he had warned her he would be, so she gave him the space he needed.
That was how much he meant to her.
She had herself sitting cross legged on the ground, five crystals were around her in a circle. This was her protective barrier, should someone try and attack her they wouldn't come but 3 feet in front of her and fall ill - with an extreme urge to be disgusted and want to run away. Who wanted to make a meal out of something that made you sick to your stomach?
Back to her. Her thick wavy hair hung loosely over her shoulders as she closed her eyes, concentrating on her dreams and the images they had been sending her. A place. She needed a place she would want to go to. Where... where could she go that was safe?
Sam's trailer. He wouldn't be there. It was completely empty. Brandy kept her eyes closed, shaking her shoulders loose as she began to chant...
I call upon the line of reality and its not. "EGO dico super versus of animadverto quod suus non."
"I call upon thee magic to bless me with my true gift" "EGO dico super thee veneficus fortuno mihi per meus verus donum"
"Fade thee lines of my dreams. Enable me to begin to walk through lines that exist without sight." "Fade thee versus of meus somnium. Enable mihi ut suscipio ut ingredior per versus ut futurus vacuus os."
"Help me to fulfill my destiny as a witch, my calling. Now." "Succurro mihi expleo meus fatum ut a veneficus , meus dico. iam"
Her chanting was in Latin, the words of the witches used for centuries and still used today. She was focusing hard on the trailer, unaware that her body was.. flickering.
Much like the flame to a candle.
She could feel something. Like a.. tingling, like part of her was separating from herself. She could feel her body fading away, but it felt weird... something wasn't quite right.
She couldn't feel her left foot.
"What.. the.. hell?"
She didn't know why, but she was looking at her left foot. But.. there was nothing there. Well, her foot was there, but it was.. see thru?
SEE THRU??!!! Brandy was panicking at that moment, wondering where her foot went. She almost screamed when she saw it - and it was surely her foot. Well, an illusion of her foot? It was outside of her circle, and it was tapping annoying at her.
Well. This sucked. That wasn't her body - that wasn't even close to the trailer! D@mn!
".. let the spell be ended"
Thankfully that was all she needed to say. But she was confused, part of her body was teleported - just not where she wanted it to be, and definitely not her whole body but rather... an after image? It was confusing.
Maybe she should try again.. get both her feet next time.

"You have got to be kidding me." Matt looked down at his new leather loafers as he pulled up a nice pile of mud on them. "I just bought these too." He bounced and whined as he threw his hands in the air. Now he would have to buy another.
It wasn't his fault that this dumpy city known as Bon Temps had crappy roads, run downed looking buildings and a bunch of hicks running around. Someone should do this town a favor and call Bob Vila or that other guy who gives those people new homes when they are down on their luck. But he was out on a mission for the Queen, so he pushed his own personal ideas on what this town needed aside and continued walking with a long sigh. As he walked he looked around with interest to what exactly Bon Temps had to offer, which seemed to be about nothing. Why on earth would anyone want to live in this kind of place? So secluded from everyone and everything, it was a good thing he and the Queen didn't have to worry about their clothing or sense of style; because they had him!
A chanting came from somewhere that his vampire hearing picked up on and he stopped. When it continued he picked up his pace and slowed as he saw a young woman with dark chocolate hair casting a spell?
There were witches in Bon Temps? Ha! He couldn't wait to get back and tell the queen about this. And all this time the queen had been on about Sookie this and that, if only she knew. Wait. He could tell her and he should tell her!
The girl disappeared almost completely for a moment and then reappeared and when she did he was standing right in plain view. The girl was attractive but she had a lower sense of style and she looked like a Harry Potter wanna be with all those things around her.
"HEY!" Matt crossed his arms and placed his weight on his left foot. "Just what do you think you are doing there little Miss Magic? You can't be doing magic like that all out in the open?" Matt pushed one of his hands out as if saying 'duh' to the girl.

"HEY!"
The voice caused Brandy to yelp out in surprise. She wasn't aware that she was being watched - nor did she ever see this guy before. She quirked her eyebrow, staying in her circle as she looked around to see if he had brought anybody with him.
"Just what do you think you are doing there little Miss Magic? You can't be doing magic like that all out in the open?"
"But I'm not out in the open. There is nobody around for miles because the full moon is out and the townies are all running wild somewhere else. You are the first face I have seen all night"
Really, it was true. Sam had taken off the moment the sun went down - mumbling something about primal urges and stuff like that. She really wished she could be with him right now, something was off.. with this man. She was getting better spotting vampires - but... this one was a bit different.
He had like.. sassy flair - and a really nice pair of shoes. Shoes that were muddy now, she felt sorry for him.
"I wonder if I can cast a spell to keep your shoes clean, its a shame to have such nice shoes get all dirty. Anyway, back to the magic. There really was no other place to do it.. I have to strengthen my magic so that one day I can teleport freely. I'm only Level 3, but even i get amazed at the stuff I can do"
She was grinning now, and she stood up to her feet so that she could brush off the dirt. She was no where as stylish as her new found acquaintance, but that didn't mean she wasn't polite. Casually she tapped away a crystal with her foot so that the protection barrier would be broken.
She stepped toward him, and extended her hand in proper greeting.
"My name is Brandy, it's a pleasure"

Matt listened to her and he listened to the surrounding area, well that was true. No one was around, but still if someone had been around....Well what did he care really? Not like he had to worry about anything, he wasn't a witch.
The Queen would have to know about little Miss Magic pants here and he was going to be the one to tell her! Matt looked down at his shoes as she mentioned how she could cast a spell to clean his new pair of shoes off. What if she cast a spell that made him disappear of worse? KILL HIM!? No way girlfriend. He wasn't born last night.
Matt shook his head no and smiled to the girl as she went on about her magic. She must like the stuff and being a level three was better than a beginner so she must be knowledgeable on some magic happenings. The Queen would be most pleased!
When she extended her hand he looked at it and then offered his back. "The pleasure is all mine Brandy. Do all you witches wear clothing like that?" It might have sounded rude, but Matt was always looking to ambush someone and he might have found his latest victim. If she had a boyfriend or a girlfriend they would thank him personally.
"I mean red is certainly your color, but try a little more sex appeal kitten." He gave her a sassy wink and then waved his other hand in the air.
"My name is Matt and I'm new to the city and you my dear are in for a special treat tonight! I'm off to meet with the Queen--my Queen and she is ever so interested in you types. You must come to Fangtasia with me." Matt pulled his hand back and looked down at his shoes, he wondered if anyone would notice how dirty they were and would he get into trouble?

"The pleasure is all mine Brandy. Do all you witches wear clothing like that?"
"Huh? Whats wrong with my clothes?"
Brandy was a little.. surprised. It was just a pair of black pants and a red shirt she found on clearance. It wasn't like she was shopping for Prada in her spare time, but she didn't think she looked that bad.
"I mean red is certainly your color, but try a little more sex appeal kitten"
"Sex appeal? Really? I.. I usually don't dress to be sexy, I guess I'm more uh.. conservative?"
She just couldn't get enough of this Matt guy, he certainly was.. kind of gay, but, what a fun person to be around! He was the kind of guy any girl would want around, and you would never have to worry about him developing "feelings" for you.
"My name is Matt and I'm new to the city and you my dear are in for a special treat tonight! I'm off to meet with the Queen--my Queen and she is ever so interested in you types. You must come to Fangtasia with me."
Whoa. Wait. What? Matt wanted to take her to meet... the Queen? The Queen of what exactly? And what would a queen want with someone like Brandy? It wasn't like she was that powerful.
Unless the queen was a vampire and really really hungry. Oh $hit, what was Brandy getting herself into? If she got turned.. Sam wouldn't be able to look at her!!! Was this a wrong place wrong time kinda deal? Curses to the full moon! It had to be the full moon!
Well, she certainly wasn't getting her questions answered by asking herself in her head!
"Uh.. I don't mean to sound rude but.. this is all a bit sudden. Your queen, uh.. what exactly is she the queen of? Not only that.. but what do you think she would want with someone like me?"

Matt's jaw would have hit the floor if it could have, but instead he just stared at Brandy as she talked about being 'conservative.' Ewww.
He watched her face as she talked and then stepped back, his face surprised and stunned. Didn't everyone know about the Quaan of Louisiana and if not they should! After all the hard work he does for her to make her up, this little mortal witch was so oblivious and lost. A Deer in headlights.
"Dear girl, the Queen of Louisiana of course." Matt put his right arm in the air as he shifted his weight to his right foot. "The vampire Queen." Matt rolled his eyes and threw his hand down in an exasperated manner. "And why wouldn't she want to know about a cute little fawn like yourself? There are more than just witches in Bon Temps and since we are planning on staying a while we'd like to meet all followers of the supernatural kind." Matt gave the girl a once over with his eyes as he thought about the dress code in Fangtasia and then he shrugged. He couldn't work miracles without his supplies, so no one would blame him for her conservative look. Rome wasn't build in a day that was for sure.
"I don't think you can walk all the way there, do you have a vehicle of some sort to get us to Fangtasia?" Matt looked around expecting to see some car that was also conservative in nature.

"Dear girl, the Queen of Louisiana of course."
Brandy still had a look of utter confusement on her face. There was a queen of Louisiana? He was teasing her right? And his body language - so flamboyant - it was screaming at her 'oh my lord child, what is wrong with you?'
"The vampire Queen."
"Oooh. Wait, vampire's have royalty?"
This was news to her, hell - everything was kind of news to her. Vampires, shifters, werewolves, and then it dawned on her. Most of the supernatural world was so mad at vampires coming out into the open.. didn't they realize witches had 'come out' so long before? Brandy shook her head of the thought.
Oh. He was giving her 'that' look again. That look that screamed 'girl, like - you need a makeover BADLY'. It made her uncomfortable, like she should.. have an extra set of clothes in her trunk or something for such occasions.
"I don't think you can walk all the way there, do you have a vehicle of some sort to get us to Fangtasia?"
"Yeah. I have a Buick Lesabre parked at the bottom of the hill. Are you coming as well - I would hate for your clothes to get any more dirty"
Brandy reached her slender digits into her pocket, pulling out her keyring and cellphone - the one with the collie charm which had one missing leg. She thought of Sam, and put her cellphone away.

If Matt could have died he would have right then and there. Didn't everyone and everyone know about the Queen? At least supernatural beings should have, or so he thought so. Especially if he was the one working on her appearance behind the scenes!
Well, she was in for a real treat tonight!
Matt tried not to curl his lip up at the mention of a Buick whatever it was and then smiled when she mentioned giving him a ride so he wouldn't have to get the rest of his clothing dirty. Well, he might make sure that nothing happened to her this evening since she was being such a cute little fawn. Yes, she reminded him of a baby fawn with her lack of knowledge and her obliviousness.
"Oh, well I've not rode in a car for a long time, but if it will make sure that my pants won't get all dirty because in Fangtasia there are strict dress codes you know." Matt threw his hands in the air and shook his head with a sigh. "Though I do dare say that some of those who adhere to the code still need a little help in the wardrobe department." Matt touched the top of his hair and felt the crispy strands that were held into place.
"Well, we must not keep her waiting. She can be ever so adorable, but don't be fooled." Matt loved the Queen, but this little fawn was new to the scene and that could cause her to get eaten by the wolves if she was not careful.

"Oh, well I've not rode in a car for a long time, but if it will make sure that my pants won't get all dirty because in Fangtasia there are strict dress codes you know."
Brandy couldn't help but to smile, leading him down the hill and toward her car. It was nothing special, just a four door 'grandpa' car. She unlocked the passenger door for him and moved around to the side, crawling into the driver's seat.
"Though I do dare say that some of those who adhere to the code still need a little help in the wardrobe department."
Brandy couldn't help but to laugh as she shook her head. She couldn't imagine what it was like to have such a passion for fashion.. she simply couldn't afford it!
"Well, we must not keep her waiting. She can be ever so adorable, but don't be fooled."
Matt's words only added to her anxiety. With a deep breath she locked the doors once they were inside and headed toward Fangtasia.
"Well, better now then never"

He sensed her distress after he mentioned the last sentence to her.
"Oh my little fawn, don't you worry. The Queen will be pleased with you!" Matt nodded his head and then got into the car of the human's. He sat there for a few seconds as he thought about what he should be doing in a car. Seat belt! Right. Matt grabbed the seat belt and clicked it into place then with a smile turned his attention back to Brandy.
"Besides, you're not what we usually get in a vampire bar anyways. Not many will be drawn to you or try to eat you this evening." Matt chuckled to himself and then thought about how his words seemed or might seem to the girl.
"What I mean is, a lot will see you as being in way over your head." He moved his right hand up to his head and made a gesture that indicated her neck being chopped off. "Though your naive and innocent nature may be excitable to some." Matt shrugged and looked out the window of her car. "Look you must visit me sometime after this evening. I bought this outfit for the Queen a while back, but the color just wouldn't mesh with her pale complexion. If you want it I would give it to you." Matt shrugged. "I'd rather see someone wearing it than a clothing hanger." Matt nodded his head and smiled to the human girl.

"Oh my little fawn, don't you worry. The Queen will be pleased with you!"
Brandy smiled slightly, his words weren't anymore encouraging. At least he was trying right? It wasn't like she was being forced to see the queen and Matt had made the visit something to.. well, something to look forward too.
"Besides, you're not what we usually get in a vampire bar anyways. Not many will be drawn to you or try to eat you this evening."
"Uh.. thanks.. I think?"
Brandy's had squeezed and unsqueezed the wheel - glancing to the side toward him and then back at the road. She knew vampires went crazy for pretty girls, well hell - they went crazy for anyone with a beating heart. He must of meant they wouldn't go crazy for her being a witch..
.. but hell, a girl had her pride you know?
"Look you must visit me sometime after this evening. I bought this outfit for the Queen a while back, but the color just wouldn't mesh with her pale complexion. If you want it I would give it to you."
"Your so silly Matt, you don't need an outfit to get me to visit you after my interlude with the queen."
Of course Brandy had been playing around, trying to loosen up the situation. It was mostly for her sake, rather than his. Still she flashed him a grin as she continued paying attention to the road - they weren't far from Fangtasia now.
"I'd hang out with you, even without your fantastic fashion sense"

Matt beamed when Brandy talked about meeting him again. Maybe he could make her into one of his own personal doll like creatures and then he could have two walking pieces of art in Louisiana. Of course the Queen would always come first, but to have his work shown around during the day time hours too would just be magnificent!
When Brandy stroked his ego, he felt a bit big headed. His grin doubled in size and he pressed his hands over his shirt top as he chuckled to himself. "Well, I'd hang out with you too, even if you are a witch. I've never met one in person before." Matt looked out the car window as they drove by trees and other scenery. It seemed they were moving so slow! Well, of course they were they were in the hands of a metal car and not his legs or speed. It seemed like it would take forever to get to Fangtasia.
"You have lovely hair. You must use really good products. Ever think of putting a little color into them?" Matt tried to imagine highlights in the girl's hair, his hands went to his chin as he stared at her intently. "And your nails too! You must not bite on them, which is refreshing to see. A lot of humans bite on their nails. Do you know how many germs are under a fingernail?" Matt shuddered and then pointed to the street.
"Turn right here." He gave her a smile and continued to look her over, trying to figure out the best colors on her and more about the witchy little fawn.

"Well, I'd hang out with you too, even if you are a witch. I've never met one in person before."
Brandy smiled warmly, but felt she should give her a little blurb on witches.
"Not all of us are.. vampire friendly, unfortunately. As far as I know, the majority of witches around don't seem to get along well with your kind."
Brandy was glad she wasn't like them, in fact she didn't have any preference over vampires, shapeshifters, weres - she could get along with anyone provided they wanted to get along with her.
"You have lovely hair. You must use really good products. Ever think of putting a little color into them?"
Brandy blushed hard at the compliment, she wasn't used to the compliments. She absent-mindly ran her fingers through her rich dark brown hair and then returned her attention to the road.
"Thank you. I guess I'm lucky that my hair takes well to all kinds of shampoo but mostly I use Herbal Essences.. the pink rose bottle. As far as adding some color, I would let you do to me whatever your little heart desires Matt. As long as you don't like.. shave my head or give me a mohawk I'm pretty easy to work with"
But she could tell he was staring at her intently. She gulped, trying to hide the fact she wasn't used to being stared at.
"And your nails too! You must not bite on them, which is refreshing to see. A lot of humans bite on their nails. Do you know how many germs are under a fingernail?"
"I could only imagine! No, I like to keep my nails clean but I have never had fake nails or anything. I guess.. I'm pretty natural. Not really the 'spend hours at the salon' kind of girl. Most of my beauty routine is at home."
She paused for a moment, she couldn't help but to wonder what Sam would say if she came into the bar all dolled up?
"I.. I don't really know what Sam would say if I got all dolled up like that. He isn't used to seeing me anymore dressed up then.. well, what I am now"
"Turn right here."
Brandy nodded, doing what she was told. He knew the way better than her after all.

Matt was excited that he was going to get another to experiment on. Of course his experiments left them all looking wonderful and in love with his magic salon fingers. "Well my dear, every girl needs to get dolled up every now and then." Matt nodded his head, especially if they were getting dolled up by him! Who wouldn't want him to do his beauty work on them?
"Besides any man, be it straight or gay loves to see a lady looking her best. She commands attention and that my dear is a very sexy trait." Matt spoke as she turned right at his command.
"So tell me about this Sam, what does he do my little fawn. Are you in love with him?" Matt smiled and turned his attention fully to her, pushing out the fact that they were moving slow and he wasn't in control of the situation. "And does he have any single friends?" Matt clapped his hands together in an excited manner and then nodded his head to the right.
"Another right and then we are almost there!" Matt remained focused on Brandy as he waited to hear about this Sam and his friends.

"Well my dear, every girl needs to get dolled up every now and then."
Brandy nodded, she supposed he was right. Certainly it would be nice to give herself a break and just let him work his magic. Nothing wrong with that!
"Besides any man, be it straight or gay loves to see a lady looking her best. She commands attention and that my dear is a very sexy trait."
"Really? I suppose I commanded the room when I went dancing with Summer that one night. I'm just not used to that kind of attention. But, it is part of being a woman. I can't wait for us to have a little girl' time Matt"
Girl time. She hoped there wasn't anything wrong with her calling it girl time seeing Matt was very openly gay. She also hoped the queen would be alright with her, she figured they were kind of a package deal. Suddenly she was becoming self-conscious again.
"So tell me about this Sam, what does he do my little fawn. Are you in love with him?"
Brandy's face flushed pink. Nobody had come right out and asked her something like that before.
"Very much so."
"And does he have any single friends?
She thought about that one for a moment, Sam didn't really have any friends did he? Well, he had the whole town but as far as friends that might be available...
"I.. really don't know. I know Kyle and Henry are gay, but they are kinda a couple. And Lafayette is single. I think. Oh, you would just love Lafayette! He is the cook at Merlotte's, that is Sam's bar actually."
"Another right and then we are almost there!"
Brandy nodded, following his directions until they were there. She slowly pulled up, parked the car, and eased out of the driver's seat with a stretch.
"Sam is actually quite famous in Bon Temp's. I feel very.. lucky.. to have him in my life."
