"Hey! Wait!"
Kaelyn's flinch was one of open surprise and physical shock of being touched. She slowly turned to look at her with worried eyes. She didn't know what was going to happen now... If her staying here led to something else horrible happening, Kaelyn would be convinced that she was cursed or it was her just desserts.
"Please don't leave. Sam is just being a protective boyfriend, he was just looking out for me. Your more than welcome at my house and I really could use a helping hand around there. So please, won't you come sit back down and let Sam get you something yummy?"
With that look in the girl's eyes, it was impossible for her to say no. It'd almost have to be a sin to say 'no' to the first person to actually be kind to her in over a year. Kaelyn could only hope that she didn't do anything to make her regret it.
"Alright," she replied with a watery smile, "as long as he's not too upset with you... I have to admit that it has been awhile since I've been able to do domestic type...stuff. If I'm going to stay with you, I might as well get to know your name. My name is Kaelyn...and I would be just fine with orange juice."
Kaelyn took a steady breath, knowing that there wasn't any going back now.

"Sam? Upset with me? Even if he was, he couldn't stay upset for long. I mean, look at this face"
Brandy pressed her lips together in a 'kissy' face as she pointed to her lips. She ended the face with a grin and reached for Kaelyn's hand, urging her back toward the bar.
"I don't mind the domestic stuff, I just warn you now I am usually not home all that much. So you help yourself to anything and everything you hear? And it's Kaelyn is it? I'm Brandy, and of course, you know Sam's name already"
After they were back at the bar, Brandy crossed her hands and couldn't help but to look at Sam with a warm smile -her lips mouthing "thank you" toward him.
"Orange juice eh? Doesn't sound very filling..."

Sam observed Brandy with the blonde shifter. She was such a caring, nurturing spirit. She had such a way about her that put people at ease, himself included. She turned to mouth the words 'thank you' at him. Sam nodded and smiled. He really hoped that this wasn't going to be a mistake. He didn't want Brandy to get hurt or mistreated by showing compassion to someone.

"Sam? Upset with me? Even if he was, he couldn't stay upset for long. I mean, look at this face"
As she stared at the ridiculous face Brandy made, the closest thing akin to a smile briefly crossed over her lips. Was this how the girl before her usually acted? The openness that she seemed to resonate had put the tiniest chip in the wall that Kaelyn had unconsciously erected.
She still couldn't help the briefest twinge at the physical contact of Brandy's hand touching hers, but she could try her best to work on it.
"I don't mind the domestic stuff, I just warn you now I am usually not home all that much. So you help yourself to anything and everything you hear? And it's Kaelyn is it? I'm Brandy, and of course, you know Sam's name already"
"I don't need much, so I won't be too much of a problem..." she admitted as she found herself smack dab in front of the bar again. "And Brandy is nice. It seems fitting." The name mentioned last caused her to pull herself inwards as she glanced at the man behind the bar. He was being so kind even complying with Brandy's wishes of her living with her, but she still felt terror at the very core of being within a few feet of him. "N-Nice to meet you, Sam. I am s-sorry if my presence has caused any unwanted c-commotion..."
"Orange juice eh? Doesn't sound very filling..."
"My stomach has...shrank since..." she paused, trying to find a way to word it without alluding to the fact that she was starved for over a year by a madman, "...I started my road trip. If you take too long to stop and eat you just end up wasting daylight."

"I don't need much, so I won't be too much of a problem..."
Brandy only shrugged, she really didn't think anybody was a problem. Unless of course, they tried hitting on Sam openly in front of her - then she might have to get the claw's out. She hated to think about it, did anybody really want to see what she was like on a bad day?
"And Brandy is nice. It seems fitting."
"You can call me BB if you like, everyone else does."
Though, that nickname was intentional and it was something she had made sure people called her when she was on the run from Derek. Luckily that time was over now, even a night away from Sam had broken her heart enough. Brandy was quiet as Kaelyn apologized to Sam.
Strange, Kaelyn seemed to be.. extra.. nervous around Sam - what was up with that? Was she scared of him?
"My stomach has...shrank since... started my road trip. If you take too long to stop and eat you just end up wasting daylight."
"I know what you mean, but you should always eat and keep yourself healthy as much as possible. Don't worry, Sam and I will make sure you get back on your feet. Your safe here."

"N-Nice to meet you, Sam. I am s-sorry if my presence has caused any unwanted c-commotion..." Kaelyn seemed really nervous and a little intimidated. This made Sam feel bad, he didn't mean to give her a bad impression of him. So he put on a smile and put his hand out to hers. "Don't be sorry. It's not your fault I got out of bed on the wrong side." Or the truth of the matter was, the tension of the upcoming lunar event that affects all shapeshifters all over the world. "No commotion."
Don't worry, Sam and I will make sure you get back on your feet. Your safe here."
Sam nodded in agreement. He was softening to the idea of Brandy having a room mate. But if it worked, she'd have someone there to watch her back when he wasn't around. Or if things went sour, he was close enough to help. "We'll get you a key cut and you can move in whenever you can."

Kaelyn eyed Sam's outstretched hand warily. It was pure nonsense, she knew this, but she was down-right frightened of him simply knowing what she did if he touched her. Like her crimes were imprinted upon her skin for any shifter to sense. Kaelyn took a steadying breath and a lightly as she could muster, placed her hand in his and slightly shifted it up and down.
"Don't be sorry. It's not your fault I got out of bed on the wrong side."
"Even if you had gotten up on the r-right side, this would have still been a surprise." She answered with a sympathetic glance.
"No commotion."
"As long as you're sure," Kaelyn murmured as she drew her hand back closer to her person.
It was almost a little unnerving how quickly all of the pieces were falling together. She'd gone from being homeless and clueless as to where she was to end up, to meeting one of the nicest people she'd ever met and being offered a place to stay with no questions. All within the span of less than an hour.
"We'll get you a key cut and you can move in whenever you can."
"I don't have all that much, so moving in shouldn't take me long. At all." Kaelyn had a duffel bag full of clothes she bought at a flea market that she'd seen from the side of the road. One outfit she'd stolen off of someone's clothes line to cover up her nakedness her first night of freedom. Apparently her first priority had been to set the house on fire and get dressed later.
"And thank you both. I...really don't know what to say about all this other than...thank you."

Brandy seemed to be distracted by her own thoughts as Sam and Kaelyn talked amongst themselves. She was lightly running her fingers over the counter top as she eyed the many bottles Sam had decorating the back counter.
"I don't have all that much, so moving in shouldn't take me long. At all."
"Really? I have too much stuff. Including a bunch of clothes that don't fit me, too many of Lafayette's burgers you know"
To emphasize her point she leaned back and patted her stomach. She had her curves, but she probably had put on at least 5 pounds since she moved to Bon Temps.
"Every pound is worth it"
"And thank you both. I...really don't know what to say about all this other than...thank you."
Brandy nodded, getting up off her seat again as she walked over to get Sam's extra set of keys.
"We might as well get going now, I have orange juice in the fridge at home. You don't mind following me with your car I hope? It isn't that far from here"
