"I can understand you being worried. This guy had gotten so deep into your head. But there's nothing to be afraid of anymore and as you say, you're free of him now. Try not to live in the past."
Kaelyn soaked in the advice and inwardly agreed that she had to start letting all her guilt and fears go. She knew she wasn't completely out of the woods yet, but at least she had just got a headlong start. This place, Bon Temps, seemed like the best place to stop and start fresh.
"Oh don't ever be ashamed to shift, certainly not in front of me. You can be proud and discreet, I'm living proof of that."
"About tonight, how do things work in Bon Temps for us?" Kaelyn questioned softly. "Honestly, I was always scared about shifting near any werewolves...since they're not on a strictly vegetarian diet." When Kaelyn ventured out into the moonlight she wanted to feel as safe as she could.
"I made some green tea. Please, help yourselves"
Kaelyn eyed the tray with a soft smile and turned that look of appreciation to the one holding it. "Thank you," Kaelyn said as she reached out to take a cup, not bothering to add anything to her tea,"I don't know if I would have ever got to this point with your help." She softly blew the rising steam away from her cup with tiny puffs of air and took a small sip. "Perfect," she murmured as she watched tiny flecks of tea leaves dance about the bottom of her cup.
"I don't know how I'll ever return the favor for helping me like this, but I'll do my best to try."

"I can't stay too long, gotta get back to the bar. Terry'll be having a sh*tfit if he's left too long on his own."
Brandy frowned at that, she didn't want Sam to have to go back to work right away. But she also knew it was inevitable, she couldn't keep him here when he had a job to do.
She brought the tea to her lips, listening vaguely to Kaelyn and Sam talk to one another. Kaelyn seemed a lot more relaxed around them - which was good. Brandy was glad to help, and she was glad that Sam had come quickly.
She always knew she could count on him to be there when she needed him. Come hell or high water.. or whatever, he would be there when she called, unless of course some unforeseen circumstance prevented it.
She didn't want to think like that, so she took another sip of her tea instead.
"I don't know how I'll ever return the favor for helping me like this, but I'll do my best to try."
"Just glad to help Kaelyn. You don't owe us anything."
She really meant it. She was looking to Sam at that moment, and her eyes caught themselves in his baby blues. She wanted to tell him not to leave, but she shook the thought away and finished her tea in one gulp. Returning to the kitchen she put her cup in the sink and then returned to the couch again, taking her place close to Sam.

Kaelyn seemed more relaxed now, which was good. Good for her, it's not good be so wound tightly. Good for Brandy to have a more stable roomie. Then her questions came in about the Bon Temps shifter activities.
"To be honest with you. I tend to shift alone. I prefer it that way." he gave a quick glance over to Brandy. "Were's have there own patch. They don't cross into non-Were territory and vice versa. Worked out well so far." Sam explained things as best he could, from his perspective. He was used to shifting alone as before, he was the only one of his kind in Bon Temps, but lately all sorts of various Supes were either passing through or making a life here.
Maybe there's some sort of intangible energy that attracts the supernatural like moths to the flame?
"I don't know how I'll ever return the favor for helping me like this, but I'll do my best to try."
Sam shook his head. "No need to return any favours. Really." he gave Brandy another quick glance up as she answered Kaelyn too. He reached his arm up towards her, hoping she'd link hands with him. He wanted her to know he was still thinking of her. It was a simple gesture, but it was good enough.
He was contemplating returning to work. He really didn't want too, but there'd be no way Terry could cope. Even with Lafayette there.

"Oh," Kaelyn chirped in response,"I don't know of any were-rabbits in this area. My family is the only part of the Halifax clan that came over the Atlantic. I'll try and find some place that seems safe enough... I'm only used to the mountains, to tell you the truth."
"Just glad to help Kaelyn. You don't owe us anything."
"Maybe I can try and not look like a deer caught in headlights everytime I meet someone new? I can try and get better at that," she quipped.
"No need to return any favours. Really."
"Ah, so you say, but I'll start to feel like I'll need to become useful after awhile. Sure, recovery takes time, but," she said with a sigh,"I'm sure it will get boring. If you need help with anything, I can try my best to get it done."
Kaelyn spied the two of them giving each other looks and she hid her smiled behind her tea as she took a drink. It was interesting to watch the way they looked out for each other. Maybe she could try and help keep an eye on Brandy's back when Sam wasn't around. He seemed awful protective of her and, with what she'd seen from her in just one day, Brandy was worth watching out for. Kaelyn had never been much of a fighter, but she was fast and rabbits claws weren't something to be taken lightly.
"Maybe," she chimed in,"we can stop by Merlotte's before too late? You two can get to see each other and I'll...try and not be intimidated by the crowd."

Oh. She saw his hand reach out for her's and it swelled her heart. He probably couldn't see it, but she smiled warmly and reached to intertwine her fingers in his.
Brandy glanced at Kaelyn, hoping she wasn't to.. weirded out by how affectionate Sam and her were together. Over the past few weeks they had become comfortable enough around one another to be that way. It wasn't easy, well.. for Brandy it was, not so much for Sam.
"Maybe I can try and not look like a deer caught in headlights everytime I meet someone new? I can try and get better at that,"
Brandy chuckled at that, nodding to agree with her. It was a lot easier to be comfortable around someone when they weren't huddled in a corner screaming "please don't eat me".
"Ah, so you say, but I'll start to feel like I'll need to become useful after awhile. Sure, recovery takes time, but, I'm sure it will get boring. If you need help with anything, I can try my best to get it done."
Brandy had to chime in at that -
"Just dishes"
Brandy really hated dishes. Maybe she should of realized that hello, she DID have a dishwasher. Oh well, it was less work for her to do. If she could do them magically she probably would of!
"Maybe, we can stop by Merlotte's before too late? You two can get to see each other and I'll...try and not be intimidated by the crowd."
"And your worried that you might get boring? I am around that place so much the local's are starting to come up to me with their drink orders! Don't worry about us Kaelyn, Sam and I get plenty of time together. In fact, I'm quite starting to worry he might be getting sick of me"
She smirked toward him, a playful smile on her face as she squeezed his hand before she stood up from the couch and stretched.
"One step at a time Kaelyn, meanwhile why don't I draw you a bath and get you all settled in? Tonight is going to be quite the night, after all"

"You don't need to help me with anything Kaelyn." Sam smiled, a comforting and genuine smile. "All I ask is you be happy and don't let your past hurt your present. It's the very least you can do for me and for yourself." he pointed at her with his free hand "Especially for yourself."
Sam watched as Brandy spoke. Letting out a coy laugh as Brandy joked about her constant appearances at the bar. It was true, she was there all the time. Before work, after work. But it was just good to see her, even if they couldn't be with each other physically.
With that thought, Brandy stood up and stretched lazily. Sam got up with a struggle, he'd been on the floor for sometime and was stuck in the same position. Once up he loosened his legs and made a beeline for Brandy.
"If you need anything, just call me alright." he turned to Kaelyn, "that means both of you. I'm only a call away." focussing back on Brandy he gave her a tender kiss. "I'll see ya later beautiful." he winked and turned to leave giving Kaelyn a wave goodbye on his way out.
