The rabbit was lucky to have gotten a head start and for this Were to have somewhat of a conscience. Even if it was being held down by the Wolf in her, it was still there fighting to get out.
Summer's lupine instincts were driving her forward. The thrill of a hunt never got boring, ever. The excitement and adrenaline pumping through her veins, urging her to seek out the little rabbit. Seek her out and snap her neck in between her ferocious jaws.
Summer was never much for a pack animal, so the innate need to call for assistance from her peers was never an issue. This quarry was the lone wolves' and she would not stop till she tasted the flesh of the small furry creature.
Summer's keen eyes caught sight of the small creature in the distance, slipping and losing her footing in some mud. Now was her chance. Picking up the pace, Summer headed straight towards it and leaped off all fours. Trying to jump over the muddy patch. To no avail, a mistimed jump made Summer land in the gloopy substance herself, losing her footing also.
A dissatisfied growl came from her throat. But the thrill of the chase was once again back on.

Kaelyn burst through a hedge of bushes, catapulting her body into the middle of a dirt road. The bright glow of retreating taillights and the smell of exhaust signaled that she narrowly missed being roadkill.
She darted across the clear road, kicking up dirt and scattering pebbles as she dove down into the ditch that ran along side it. Kaelyn hastily scrambled up the opposite slope of the ditch, pushing on towards what she hoped was safety. The thought that the skirmish could alert humans to their presence, but survival was first and consequences followed second.
In seconds Kaelyn was running though an open gate door, she jumped over the front end of a bright, plastic play set slide as she navigated across someone's backyard. The grass was a veritable minefield of hazards and it was taking every ounce of concentration to clear the toys and lawn tools. She'd barely managed to avoid getting tangled up in a garden hose when she spied a gap in the fence. It was big enough for her to squeeze through and it might buy her some precious time.
With muscles aching and already feeling over-spent, Kaelyn charged forward and torpedoed through the small space. One small error in her plan was that the stretch of land beyond the fence was an unknown factor. There was a steep drop a few feet past the perimeter of the fence and she plummeted down. Her front right paw landed awkwardly as she fumbled her landing, letting out a pathetic cry of pain at the sudden discomfort.
Despite the injury, Kaelyn refused to slow down and each move slowly became agony. From a distance, the scents of many humans, exhaust, and cooking slowly reached her nose. Merlotte's had to be close.

Summer slowed her pace, expending too much energy was foolhardy. She had at least another hour or two before the need to remain in Were form would release itself, rather than charge around like a bull in a china shop. It was time for some more subtle tactics.
Summer was glad she decided to take this different approach to her hunt. As the rabbit sped across a road, almost becoming a sploogy mess on the concrete. Summer slowed to a halt and waited for the right moment to cross. The rabbit was nowhere to be seen, but Summer had Kaelyn's scent. Tracking her down wasn't going to be too complex a task.
Soon Summer was padding quickly across the road and back onto the wererabbit's scent. Following it's every twist and turn before coming face to face with a large fence. Summer growled and shook her fur. This was an obstacle that would be hard to get past. She paced back and forth, trying to see an opening.
Frustrated she smashed her head into the wooden panels, again and again till she got a hole big enough for her to squeeze through. A yelp of pain came out from the wolf's throat as it's back leg got caught on a sharp splinter of wood. If it wasn't for the trail of the rabbit's scent, Summer would have given up then and there. All this was worth it for one little bunny?
Summer began to pick up the pace, easing herself down a slope and onwards towards the familiar smells and sounds of Merlotte's Bar & Grill.

As time crept forward, Kaelyn became all too aware of the throbbing of her paw. It continued to throb in time with her heartbeat which was, unfortunately, going a mile a minute. Kaelyn limped through the pain and kept her senses trained on Merlotte's.
Already taxed by prior exertions, the rabbit could barely push her way through a wall of thick brush that appeared to be one of the last obstacles standing between her and presumed safety. Wriggling, huffing, and shoving her way forwards, Kaelyn felt her energy draining away with every move.
Using her good front paw, Kaelyn did her best to push down twigs away from her face to allow her to finally get through the thick vegetation. She shimmied the rest of her body through the tiny, rabbit-made gap and nearly squeaked with joy at the sight of the leveled dirt before her.
Kicking her tail free from a very clingy twig, Kaelyn placed one paw in front of the other in slow, disjointed hops and headed onwards.
