"Brandy, listen to me. This isn't you, wake up. Please!"
Picture yourself in a dark room. You exist in this room, yet like a window you can see into another world. And this other world is distorted. Distorted and fuzzy, and the voices are muffled with an echo that taunts the back of your ear drums.
Your body was there, doing things for you, and some of the things you could feel but it was like this darkness that choked at your soul and wouldn't let you go. It was like.. an intruder was in your body with you.
"Aw baby please not you. I can't do this without you."
The voice outside had grabbed her face.
"If there's any part of my Brandy in there, I want you to hear this."
Her body paused and in her black room the distorted image had flickered. The voice had her brief attention.
"I love you Brandy. I love you so much."
Wait, what?
"Please come back to me."
She felt the tear on her cheek. She felt the darkness lift and peel away from her, she felt.. a sudden rush consuming her as a gasp lifted from her lips like she had been drowning underwater for the last 10 minutes.
She was looking at Sam, but she had no recollection of going "under" or how she had arrived in the trailer. She blinked several times, looking around her and completely oblivious to everything.
"Sam? What happened? Why am I here?"
She noticed his tear and immediately fell into instant worry.
"Wait, why are you crying? Where is Maryann?"
She truly had no idea what was going on.

"Sam? What happened? Why am I here?"
Brandy's voice was confused but Sam was never more happy to hear it. He pulled back to look at her, the blackness was gone and back were her beautiful dark brown eyes.
"Wait, why are you crying? Where is Maryann?"
Sam hastily wiped away the tear and just threw his arms around Brandy. "Oh thank God!" he held onto her so tightly. "Thank God. I thought I'd lost you to her."
Sam kissed her forehead lightly. "You can't go near her again, you hear me? She had you once, she can take you again."

"Oh thank God!
Sam had held her tightly and Brandy was a bit taken back by his rush of emotion. She didn't know what the hell had happened, but apparently Sam was overwhelmed to have her 'back?'
"Thank God. I thought I'd lost you to her."
"Oh, friggin.. I didn't go all black-eyed and all lust bunny did I? Crappers. How did I... ?"
He kissed her forehead and suddenly how just didn't matter anymore.
"You can't go near her again, you hear me? She had you once, she can take you again."
Brandy's eyes narrowed. She didn't like at all. It was time to play hard ball and she eased out of Sam's hold. Forget candles, forget itty bitty chants - no, this time she was going to teach Maryann she messed with the wrong witch.
"Lighter."
Brandy of course meant the lighter she had given Sam a while back. Once he handed it to her, she stepped forward and flicked open the flame.
"EGO precor vox of Matris Terra. Contego is domus quod meus animus ex malum ut threatens mihi. Operor is iam." I invoke the power of Mother Earth. Shield this home and my soul from the evil that threatens me. Do it now.
The flame of the lighter had shot up from its enclosure right then, forming its very essence into a form of a pentacle right in front of Sam's door. With a flick of her wrist Brandy had closed the lighter and handed it back to Sam without even looking at him.
"Taste the invoking powers of a level 4 witch, you stupid b!tch."

Sam just nodded his head and gave her a grim smile. She asked for his lighter and he handed it over without question, he suspected what she needed it for.
Brandy took the lighter and began to chant something in what he thought was latin, though he wasn't well educated enough to know for sure. A flame burst out from the lighter and to Sam's amazement formed a pentacle. He stood there completely in awe at Brandy's skills and power.
"Taste the invoking powers of a level 4 witch, you stupid b!tch."
Sam grinned, it was good to see her back to her old self.

Maryann had ordered all the horny drunks back to her house. She stayed behind, something about the couple intrigued her. Why was he so hellbent on saving only her. What was so special about her?
She wandered over to the trailer, but only got as far as the bottom of the steps. Something was pushing her back, something strong. The energy would be intoxicating under a different circumstances.
It was the witch! It had to be. Maryann's demeanour grew darker, how dare she keep her gift from her. "I'll get you Sam Merlotte. Soon, very very soon you will suffer for the greater good.!"
Maryann was furious. Never had someone evaded her so much and for so long. She would find a way to prise Sam from this woman. She had to come up something soon.

Brandy felt Maryann coming, that was why she had kicked open the door just as the words of anguish from Maryann slipped past her thin lips...
"I'll get you Sam Merlotte. Soon, very very soon you will suffer for the greater good.!"
Brandy's silhouette was basked in the glow of the light in Sam's trailer. She wanted Maryann to see her, and to look right into her soul - just so the woman would know what kind of power she might of been dealing with. That taking her over again really was now impossible.
"Jesus Christ Maryann, would you just shut up already?"
Brandy has reached for the door, but not before giving Maryann the real salute she had deserved..
Her middle finger.

"I'll get you Sam Merlotte. Soon, very very soon you will suffer for the greater good.!"
Sam swallowed hard when he heard Maryann call out to him. It was unnerving to know someone wanted you to suffer and most likely to die. Why him? Why was he so d*mn important to her? She never seemed to answer him directly, only in vague riddles that left even more questions in his mind.
Brandy shot up and opened the door. Even her silhouette commanded authority, it was quite the awesome and impressive sight. Sam was happy she was on his side, that was for sure.
"Jesus Christ Maryann, would you just shut up already?"
Sam's eyes widened. What was she doing? Then Brandy flipped off Maryann, the randomness of it made Sam laugh. He knew he shouldn't, but it just seemed to escape without warning.

Maryann was very unhappy about this development. Brandy was interfering in something that was beyond her comprehension. Her bond with Sam was very strong, Maryann had not taken this into account. She was now angry with herself.
"Jesus Christ Maryann, would you just shut up already?"
Brandy had swung open the trailer door and stood there, almost daring Maryann to knock her on her ass. How dare she speak to me like this? This only caused more anger to simmer inside Maryann. She was a servant of Dionysus, a Maenad. Not some common trailer trash that could be dismissed so easily.
Then the insult to top it all off. Brandy defiantly raised her middle finger at her. If this was a cartoon, steam would be shooting out of Maryann's ears by now.
"This is not over." Maryann spoke ominously, never taking her eyes off the trailer as the door slammed shut.

Brandy just sort of.. stood there and stared at the closed door. She heard Maryann's warning and even though she knew in the back of her mind that Maryann was true to her word - Sam's laughter had distracted her.
Slowly Brandy had turned her head, an.. innocent expression on her face. It was nice to see Sam laugh, even if the timing was weird it was funny. A flicker of light in a dismal situation, Brandy had turned her body and kissed Sam lightly on the cheek before she made her way to the couch and sat down.
She was staring at the blank screen of the television, tomorrow morning she had to work - a short shift, nonetheless but she was almost content on the idea of making Sam stay in the trailer and never leave.
"I want you to know Sam, that whatever happens, I am going to stay by you. No matter who else turns on you, or falls to Maryann's... darkness, I will be by your side. But I guess it's pointless for me to even say such things that you know already"
Maybe Brandy just liked to hear herself talk, it had been a long day and she still hadn't told Sam what had happened in Dallas. Best just to leave that news alone.

Sam put his hand into hers, linking his fingers in neatly. She hadn't heard his confession of love or at least, didn't remember. Now wasn't the time to get into it again, the moment was lost. At least it was for now. He'd make it all up to her, somehow.
"I know you will and I can't ever thank you enough. For everything." Sam pulled her in close, he just needed to hold her. He hated to feel so needy, but he needed this beautiful woman more than he could ever express with words. He kissed the top of her head. "With you at my side, nothing's impossible"

She watched Sam come toward her and then sit down next to her, when his fingers neatly found their way around her's she couldn't help but to smile.
"I know you will and I can't ever thank you enough. For everything."
There were those butterflies again. Soft, fluttering, and like a tingling rush in the pit of her stomach that she did not want to go away. When he pulled her closer her heart was racing, and she closed her eyes just so she could savor the moment.
The kiss on the top of her head saw a sort of.. gentle sigh muse past her lips and she looked up at him with glassy eyes when he spoke again.
"With you at my side, nothing's impossible"
Her soft smile turned into a playful smirk and she brought her hand up so that she could run her fingers through his dirty blond hair. He had such.. intense blue eyes, funny that she would notice such a thing.
Or maybe it wasn't funny at all.
"I'm just thankful I found someone I can give myself to so completely. I'm glad it was you."
Brandy had closed her eyes again, just content for a moment being so close to Sam. It was when she opened her eyes that she realized something she hadn't before.
"Sam. Maryann said it wasn't over. Are you going to have the strength and the courage to do what might be the inevitable outcome?"
Where this question came from, Brandy couldn't of told anybody. It was just there and as she eased away from Sam she had both hands on his shoulders with a serious look in her eyes.
"I don't want you to answer. I just want you to.. think about it. We don't know what the future is going to bring but I've seen into her darkness, Sam, and that is not something that will not be easy to take away"

She had been duped. There was to be no game at all, Sam Mer-get-it-on-lots-with-Brandy-is-a-liar! Then again, why is that so kinky? Oh, right. [Because it was bad]. He lied and it was also a bit of a tease-like motion; alluring. Then it became annoying, no longer interesting as he didn't even give into her. Everyone had been getting their groove on, except for her. It isn't fair. Not one bit. Well, it's not like she's entirely innocent, in the larger scheme of things. [Ironic in a way of speaking; on what's fair and what isn't]. "Someone let me out of here, G*D d**n IT!" After cursing, her lips trembled a giggle; boy that was fun. She too could have a dirty mouth!
Things did seem to fly on by, awfully quick that it seemed: Hard to grasp. Er- one thing she was sure of, in a sense: She didn't fail Maryann. As she had Sam's phone, just like she wanted. Now, it was a matter of getting free, to find Maryann and then give her the phone. Would she be disappointed? A interesting thought, that was able to appear. One thing you did not want to do: Take away her Coffee. Or a hot shower, or to ever make her unsatisfied. [Just ask Carl, for instance]. Though, she couldn't really ask him; there hadn't been enough interaction. However, she got the feeling that you never wanted to make her unhappy.
Really, she had tried everything to seduce Sam! Finally, some "assistance" was near! Eying the giggling couple of Terry and Arlene, that suddenly waltzed into Sam's office. Who wouldn't think of being kinky by messing around in the boss's office? "Get me the F*ck out of here! N' you can have this room all you want!" Sold. Hook, line and sinker. Once she was free, she had to seek out Maryann. No matter how long it took, she had to find her when exiting Merlotte's. "Maryann!?" Oh right, she probably shouldn't be yelling. Well, she couldn't help it as she continued to wander around.

"I'm just thankful I found someone I can give myself to so completely. I'm glad it was you."
Sam held her close and smiled. Really smiled. "So am I." just being around Brandy made him feel good and right now he needed that.
"Sam. Maryann said it wasn't over. Are you going to have the strength and the courage to do what might be the inevitable outcome?"
He didn't like what Brandy was implying. But deep down, right into his absolute core, he knew that if it came down to he had to end Maryann's life. Her taunts of immortality were surely that, taunts.
"I don't want to do anything I don't have to. But, if it's my life or hers. I know who I'd like to come out of it alive."
"I don't want you to answer. I just want you to.. think about it. We don't know what the future is going to bring but I've seen into her darkness, Sam, and that is not something that will not be easy to take away"
Oops. Too late, he already said what was on his mind. As uneasy as that made him feel. Brandy being drawn in made him feel worse. If someone so strong, so powerful as Brandy was unable to resist Maryann's influence....who could?
"I'll do my best to protect you. I really think you oughta stay here, I don't like you going out there without me, for anything."

"I don't want to do anything I don't have to. But, if it's my life or hers. I know who I'd like to come out of it alive."
Well, he answered. Brandy's gaze read 'Yeah, me too'.
"I'll do my best to protect you. I really think you oughta stay here, I don't like you going out there without me, for anything."
"Unfortunately my job isn't going to take 'I can't come in for fear some crazy b!tch is going to kill me' excuse for missing work tomorrow. Money is kind of a good thing, so much so that I feel I owe you a ton already considering it's mostly you supporting my fine @ss"
Sam had put a roof over Brandy's head, food and drink in her tummy, and pretty much took care of her - at least, now that Brandy thought about it. She was going to have to repay him one day for all he had done for her.
"And I know you wouldn't let anything happen to me Sam, you worry so much. I'll come straight here after work tomorrow, Maryann can't get into this place anymore so this is the safest place for us both."

Brandy was insistent on going to work and not staying put where Sam knew she'd be safe. He shook his head, he had to try to reason with her one more time.
"I'll call in for you, tell them you're sick. I don't care about money or you owing me or anything like that. It all amounts to nothing if I don't have you to share it with, if you're not safe. Please, at least think about it." he stroked her hair. "I won't feel right with you away from me. Not right now."
He didn't want to come across as a creepy, clingy smothering boyfriend. But he didn't want her to be hurt...or worse.
