Sookie looked over her shoulder as she watched Eric and Haylee. Sookie knew Haylee was not that type. "Im good Jessica, cept for workin on my day off. Ain't not a thang good about that!" She said through a forced smile as she kept an eye on Eric and Haylee. Jason was full of himself tonight, hell, he was always full of himself. "And Jason, he aint my other boyfriend. You better shut your mouth before I do it for you!" She whisper yelled at him as she grabbed him another beer. First of the night my butt she thought to herself and as this thought of her's happened, one of her brothers came in.
"I know Jason! It just don't seem right!" She said, knowing he would get pissed, but she could have cared less. Something about Haylee made Sookie feel protective of her, like they knew eachother in a past life or something, or in this one and it had been lost. Jessica ordered a drink. "Of course Jessica, coming right up!" She replied as she grabbed a bottle and warmed it up, listening to Jessica and Jason's rather obnoxious conversation. But still, keeping an eye on Eric and Haylee. As she noticed them get up, Sookie could not help herself. "Here Jess!" She said as she gave her the bottle and walked over towards Eric and Haylee.
"Why if it ain't Eric, Sherif of Area Nine here in my Merlotte's. Why ya leaving so soon? Did I scare ya away?" She asked in her usual tone with Eric, cocky, pompous and on the edge of kicking his behind.

Nothing could measure up toward Eric's velvety and streaming voice, creating the smooth request, "pull" he had over her. [Well, technically: It wasn't a request, per say]. They loved one another. Didn't they? So it shouldn't be anything to fret over, no; nothing was out of the ordinary. If he wanted to leave, nothing could make her complain; in fact: She was still in a "dopey-like" state. The head-over-heels one, when now leaning back from her previous stance, that had allowed her to be in close quarter to Eric. Obeying, completely standing from their table, remembering on when they leave: They are to be as "one." The only thing left to do, that was partly obvious was: To leave. Yet, it didn't feel as if they were moving all to quickly.

"Why if it ain't Eric, Sherif of Area Nine here in my Merlotte's. Why ya leaving so soon? Did I scare ya away?"
"I am a mere man Sookie who needs a day off. I get hassled all the time at Fangtasia, here I can be in peace. And Haylee and I really need to be leaving. I promised her I would take her flying; and I keep my promises Sookie," he said, his voice smooth as butter and almost managed to come across as sincere, just almost.
"It is a lovely night for a fly, isn't it darling?" He asked the blonde, sneaking a muscular arm around her waist, keeping the glamour intact. He noticed the distrust in Sookie's demanor, she had obviously caught onto that something wasn't quite right. That was his que to exit Merlotte's, with the fair Haylee.
"It's been a pleasure Sookie, as usual. But we must be going now," Eric said sending a charming smile in Sookie's direction.

"Thanks Sook!" Jessica said, popping open the cap and taking a drink still in thought. "I got nothing." She said finally after a few minutes, smiling towards Jason. "Don't feel bad though, he's apparently a thousand years old. How many times a day do you come across a person or Vampire as old as that?" She asked, taking another drink and setting it down on the table, a blood mustache slowly forming above her upper lip. She turned towards Eric, waved and said, "Hi Eric!"

Jason looked Jessica square in the eye. "Don't say Hi Eric...he was mean to my sis just now and I know he did something to Haylee...I should punch him square in the nose but I know the only good that will do is landing me in the hospital, or worse, in the ground." He took a swig of his beer. This just wasn't his night.

She turned around and then saw him looking right into her eyes. She stared right back. His words confused her and this was a side she never saw before. She took a long drink of her blood and then put it back down, wiping away the blood. "I'm sorry..." She said, then threw Eric the finger and gave Jason a look that said "How's that?"

Sookie was flabbergasted at Eric's unwillingness to talk. He was usually in full Eric mode when it came to Sookie. He always took the time to partake in her witty little remarks and make some of his own. Then he liked to put in a line or two about getting Sookie to himself. But what the hell was wrong with him tonight. Acting all superior, high and mighty. That was not Eric. And Haylee, poor Haylee. What was he doing to her? Whatever it was, Sookie was not down to see it and would do all she could to stop it. Sookie looked over to see Jessica wave at Eric, then moments later she gave him the finger. Musta been Jason's doing, that brotherly love thing. Sookie could not help but laugh out loud, but was soon brought back to earth as she saw Eric trying to head out with what seemed a drugged out Haylee.
"Mere man my hiney Eric. What the hell are you doing to Haylee here?" Sookie said as he seemed to be leaving. "Haylee, Haylee!" Sookie said as she got close to the girl and looked her in the eyes. And those eyes did not have the twinkle that Sookie remembered, more of something else. She tried to listen to her brain but did not hear anything at the moment. "Eric. Eric! Youve done glamored her aint you? Why the hell would you do that? She aint got no need for you! Cut that crap out. And flying, that is just not you Eric. When the hell you gonna take someone flying? What the hell is up tonight? Is it a full moon or something?" Sookie said as she was feeling flushed with anger. Anger that Eric was not giving her attention, anger that Eric was not being himself for some reason and anger that he had glamored sweet innocent Haylee.

"Yes, it's a lovely night." Haylee chirped within a content sense of agreement, as if to match her outward appearance. [Dopey and completely unaware of Eric's REAL intentions]. Which, is kind of the purpose of glamor. Isn't it? All the while, she was cherishing the fact of being this close to Eric, via a arm around her waist. Frankly, the whole becoming of "one" promise had seemed inches away. Even if they hadn't moved very far, in that respect but she attempted to lean her forehead off to the side. As if to rest somewhere, if Eric would allow it; personal contact. Simply, there was nothing more important, then her love. [Well, not love, but unknowingly the state of glamor]. Sookie had inspected her; calling her name and staring into her dull pair of eyes, mainly waiting to leave along side of Eric.

"I'm enjoying myself Sookie. Nothing wrong with that. You enjoy yourself plenty with good old wet blanket Compton so I would imagine you'd be familiar with that consept." Eric sneered tightening his grasp on Haylee's waist. He was now fairly certain he wouldn't get the young blonde out of Merlotte's but he wasn't letting go of prey that easily.
"Haylee's fine as you can see. I'm offering her something most woman would die for, a night with me. She doesn't seem to object, does she?" Eric said, his voice low and seductive. As to prove his point, he snaked a hand in Haylee's golden blonde hair and kissed her deeply, right in front of Sookie. He hoped that would distract her long enough for him to leave with Haylee.
"See Sookie, I don't bite unless I've been asked. Haylee seems more than willing so I must bid you good night. Enjoy your evening Sookie. Jason. Jessica." Eric said in a haste to leave the bar.

He flagged the bar keep and got another beer. "It just ain't right, I know it ain't right and if you take that girl outta here with her bein all crazy like that, well, I don't know where you sleep but I know where you work and where you make your money." He took another sip of liquid courage.
"I ain't got no problem tryin' to make your life miserable but unless she snaps outta it, to me its like lettin her go off to jump off a bridge or somethin' and I ain't too bright but I will figure somethin' out...I know she'd do the same for me...I can't let her go with you unless she is willing and don't try to shove more bullshxt down my throat about how she wants it and how you are terriffic in bed and what not cus' I ain't gonna listen to it."
Jason's intoxication was allowing him to dance with danger because other wise he probably would have peed his self right about now.

Eric practically hissed. "Sookie, please tell your brother that he will fair better if he doesn't mess in my affairs. My patience grows quite thin."
He noticed that there were several beers sitting in front of Jason and the reason for the out burst was probably alcohol related. Eric also couldn't help but wonder why Jessica was suddenly siding with the human.
A few months ago she had been practically begging for him to make her his queen of the night. It had been a trying week and that was the main reason she was sent straight back to Bill. Plus he was quite certain that Pam would have killed her soon and that would have meant another fine and another new vampire that he would have to take care of.
"Jessica quit being cute for the mortal. You will learn some manners, even if Bill is too preoccupied to teach you. I am sure I can come up with something for you to do."
He grinned wickedly as he turned to face Sookie. "I can't help but feel as if you are envious my sweet girl. I thought you were done with me but now when I am trying to leave you can't seem to get enough." Eric let go of Haylee to brush Sookie's cheek with his hand. "I do enjoy this, green is definitely your color."

While Eric was focused on Sookie, Jason decided to reach out to Haylee. He grabbed both of her hands and pulled her towards him. "Haylee, if you are in there girl listen...if you want me to leave ya alone I'll do it and you can leave with him but if you don't, if you wanna stay here with us you just say the word 'en I'll see that his vampire a** is tossed out like yesterday's trash."
He wasn't exactly sure how he was gonna back up the statement. Jason was also pretty sure that Eric was about ready to kick his tail up and down Merlotte's. There was one thing that he and Sookie had in common though, they were both stubborn as a pair of mules and Jason wouldn't back down just yet.

Sookie was in such an anger, she could not even get her words working properly. This in turn made her hear everything in the bar. All the locals were freaking out at the site of Jason threatening Eric, at Haylee the town sweetheart being glamored, at Jessica (though they rather found her funny) and at Sookie. All these combined were pissing her off more. But most of all it was Eric. It was the fact that he was at Merlotte's on a forced date. It was his attitude. It was just plain and simple Eric. Sookie did not want him or maybe she did. They had shared blood. But, Bill. When the hell was he gonna be back?
It seemed everything was rushing past her and she had so many replies in her head for Eric, but she forgot most of them. It was loud in there. She took a deep breath to calm down and as she did she felt Eric's hand on her face. Instinctively, she leaned into it but rapidly realized what she had done and stepped back.
"Eric, don't you put your hand on me!" She scolded at him. Stubborn was her way, hell, it was the Stackhouse way. And Jason was sure on his high horse tonight. "Jason Stackhouse!" Sookie said as she looked at him with a look that meant 'back off cause Eric can kill you in a second' but at the same time 'we are going to get Haylee, but let me.'
"Eric Northman. I ain't envious. Why would I want to be cohersed by vampire power? I sure don't wanna be your glamored meal for the night!" She raised her tone but not loud enough to be causing too large a scene. "The thing is, you ain't gonna keep doing this to Haylee! You gotta leave her alone and I ain't playing no game. Unglamor her right now! You just cant do this here. It ain't no vampire bar. This is Merlotte's." She gave Eric a look of pleading but stern at the same time. Her body was aching for him in ways she never believed and she was afraid he could feel this. Why was it that anger and longing were one in the same with Eric. "Why in the hell you gotta come here with her like this?" If he was not going to nicely stop the glamor, Sookie was going to have to bargain with him in one way or another. She was going to have to make Jason grab Haylee and run while she played the games she always did with Eric. That was the only backup plan she had if it did not happen nicely.

Eric laughed at Sookie. She was just too much. He could feel her emotions and it was simply delicious. Sookie really wanted him to leave Haylee alone. Eric wasn't the type to back down unless a better opportunity came along.
"I am not an unreasonable man. I would be more than happy to let Haylee go. However" He quickly closed the gap between them. "I will stay here for awhile longer. Country living suddenly has quite the appeal." Eric moved a hand around the back of the telepath's head and kissed the top of her forehead. Her smell was something otherworldly and he had no idea how anything could be so intoxicating.
After he released her, he turned to face Haylee. Eric placed both hands around her face and stared into her eyes. "Haylee, you are no longer in my control. As I release you, you will not remember any of the previous conversations between us. The only thing you will know about us is that I am Eric Northman, the kind vampire waiting at Merlotte's for his barmaid, Sookie Stackhouse."
The last comment was sure to send Sookie over the edge with anger but that was a reaction he was willing to take. He let Haylee's face go and moved back towards the previous booth he had once been occupying. Eric tossed a look over his shoulder as he walked away. "Sookie, when you get a moment, I would very much enjoy a True Blood, O negative." Sookie would win this battle temporarily but he undoubtedly win the war.
