((OOC: This is set 3 days after this thread when Brandy and Sam have came back from Dallas)) Sam looked around the bar, it seemed so eery when it was empty like this. But he was pleased with how it had all worked out. Very little was changed in the overall look of the bar. But the small tables and chairs in the center of the floor were now black stained wood. The leather on the booths was a darker colour, more maroon than out and out red. The panelling on the front of the bar was a paler wood than before. But it looked good, smart. All the taps and optics were back in place and fully stocked ready to go. The jukebox that had been so badly destroyed was replaced with an old school Wurlitzer, but now it had CD's instead of vinyl records. Way to go being updated. The infamous pool table was now a blue felt instead of the traditional green. The newest part of the whole bar, was a small stage. Sam had taken into consideration things like Karaoke nights and had ordered a plasma tv for big events like football games. Most everyone in Bon Temps supported the New Orleans Saints. They were as close to home team as you could get. Sam sighed and put his hands in his pockets. It was almost time to open up. He turned his head to look at the clock at the back of the barside wall. 4:30pm. Late opening, but the contractors weren't quite done by the time he'd gotten back from Dallas with Brandy. Now all he had to do was wait on his staff and he could get prepped and open. Hopefully within the hour.

Well, Haylee couldn't deny that she had become: Spoiled, though not fully rotten. All that time off had seemed like a MUCH NEEDED dream, with no responsibility at all. All that time to jump over that unknown heap; that consisted of feeling guilty. Yet, nothing came as to be the answer for the feeling that she had. It drove her bonkers, but she couldn't let it get to her. Sam had told her not to worry, in a sense. Little at a time, there was work to put everything behind her, whatever that "mysterious" everything was. Now, it was time to put the pedal to the metal! Less she wanted to be fired for not showing up, the last thing that she ever wanted. Being that Sam took a pretty big risk by hiring her, the least she could do is build some further trust!
"Am I late, Sam?" Haylee nearly said with a touch of being out of breath, although she managed to perk a eyebrow to her surroundings. It looked like a whole new bar! "It looks like it got visited by the fairy godmother." Shoot, shiny new everything! Come to think of it, while she enjoyed the time off, apart of her missed work. She felt as if she were getting to know the people here better. Like she was really included and less of a outsider to these parts. Hopefully, everyone would be rar'in to come back again.

Haylee came bundling through the backway, partially breathless and entirely apologetic. Sam gave her a reassuring smile. "Nope, not at all. You're first here."
Sam looked around, it really was looking very good. He was so proud of his little slice of Bon Temps and hoped the changes were liked by his loyal customers. It had been a few days since it was last open, so he'd hoped Merlotte's wouldn't be abandoned in favour of another watering hole.
"Let's get prepped up, then we can open up." Sam gave Haylee and oh crap look. "Sh*t, before I forget. We need to go through a couple of things for today." Some of it was easy, some not so easy.
"We got a couple of special deals on, re-opening specials." Sam began, "All drinks are 50% off and if you buy a Lafayette burger meal you get you're drink free." now for the hard part. "But, you may need to tend bar occasionally. I'm not expecting Tara to show, she's got...family matters goin' on and unfortunately that leaves me short handed." Sam let out an expectant sigh.

It was kind of ironic, when listening to Sam note the facts of the situation. For all of the worrying that Haylee had done, she was the first one to arrive! "Oh," she muttered and felt a little off guard, yet she was still thankful to be on time; in a sense at least of the word. Fingertips gently patted down her uniform and it had felt strange. Mainly for going awhile without it on her break, to suddenly wearing it again, but it wouldn't slow her down. Smiling, Haylee listened to the run down of things, such as re-opening deals and offers. What about later in the eve, where a few undead might linger in?
Oh, no. Bar tend?! Well, she could mix drinks but she was no professional. Not wanting to disappoint Sam, she placed on a "game face." "Bar tend? Sure thing! I haven't really met her, well Tara yet, though I hope everything is ok." God. Please, send help. Stop. That would be her telegraph for her to send right above; into the clouds. Still, she had to at least try. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad and tried to relax, getting back onto the vampire issue when talking a breath. "Any deals on Tru Blood, maybe?"

Sam gave Haylee a friendly pat on the shoulder. "You'll be fine, I'll be here to make sure you're okay. Trust me." Sam smiled warmly. There really wasn't any need for her to look so nervous. Tonight was going to run smoothly and perfectly.
"Any deals on Tru Blood, maybe?"
Sam nodded, "Yup, that's in the 50% off deal. I'm lookin' into seeing if we can get other brands in. But for now, just the TruBlood." Sam looked to the door and back to Haylee. "Ya ready kiddo?" he gave her confident look. It was time to let the hordes back into his pride and joy.
Sam's thoughts drifted towards Brandy as he unlocked the front door. She was meeting up with Summer and then they'd both make there way over here to help celebrate the relaunch of Merlotte's.
As soon as the door opened Maxine Fortenberry and Jane Bodehouse came scrambling through it. Sam smiled, not letting there abruptness bother him. "Welcome ladies. Take a seat and we'll be right with ya."

Damian was hoping that he wasn't intruding very far, though he wasn't gonna be able to drink he was gonna eat one of Lafayette's yummy burgers. And maybe even his other yummy treat if his night goes as planned. He was hoping Sam wasn't still mad, he tried to help out and he even sent them very pretty outfits to wear.
Damian entered and sensed Sam's presence and saw many people he met along the way. He waved to Maxine and Jane and walked over to the bar. Before sitting down and waving down a waitress. "May I have one of Lafayette's infamous burgers"

"May I have one of Lafayette's infamous burgers"
The familiar voice and scent of Damian came out of the distance. Sam initially clenched his fists, but he relaxed. He had nothing to fear over Damian's friendship with Brandy. He doubted he and Damian would ever be anything more than tolerant of one another, but he would be nice to the kid for Brandy's sake.
"Hey, thanks for coming to the big re-opening." Sam extended his hand out towards the young Were. "Also like to thanks for the outfits, we weren't able to use them until we went to Dallas." Sam sighed, he had to do it. "Listen...I'm sorry about, well you know." Sam made a quick pointing motion to Damian's face. "I sort of lost my temper."
Sam realised Lafayette hadn't arrived at the bar yet. But he was hoping he would soon. "Might be a while for any food, Lafayette ain't here yet and Terry won't be in till later. I can get you a drink though, all drinks half price tonight."
There, Sam managed to be polite and friendly. Sam gave a wave and a nod to Maxine and Jane. "Thanks for comin' ladies." Sam looked around to see how Haylee was coping.

As expected, the parking lot was already starting to fill up with patrons. The grand reopening sign was up, but the signs that probably attracted the most attention were the '50% off' drink special. Brandy expected a long and entertaining night - and had already made sure to jot down a taxi cab number by the payphone!!
Brandy had been waiting for Summer to show up, and as expected Summer wasn't that far behind. Brandy walked up to Summer, hooking her arms in her's as they made their way into the bar.
"Don't mind me once we get in there, I haven't seen Sam in almost half a day and it's killing me!"
Oh, Brandy knew she had it bad for the guy, she had it bad for Sam and then some. The moment both girls stepped into the bar they had the attention of almost all the men in that bar...
But Brandy? She hadn't noticed anybody in that bar but Sam.
"Thanks for comin' ladies."
Sam had been talking to Maxine and Jane, but Brandy could barely hold in her excitement as she let go of Summer's arm and tried her best to take a 'non-skipping' pace toward Sam.
That didn't last long, the moment he had turned to head away from them she had literally leapt up onto him. She had used the move many times, wrapping her legs around his waist in a reverse-piggy back style - only most of the time she was naked when she did so.
She was grinning wickedly, her arms loosely around his neck with that warm glint in her eyes. Was she completely oblivious as to the company around them? Of course not...
But at that moment, she just didn't care.
"Hello sexy"

There was nothing to worry about, not ONE thing; as Sam was here. All in order to make sure that nothing could in fact happen, it now felt silly to worry. If you couldn't trust in Sam, then who could you trust? Not to mention, with the friendly pat upon her shoulder: It seemed to confirm the belief of, "all will be well." With a mental sigh, Haylee felt MORE prepared then she'd ever been. "Thanks, Sam." Offering a smile to feeling a little bit relaxed, especially whenever hearing about the deal on Tru Blood. Although, she didn't like to be called "kiddo." It kind of reminded her of Stan and his "little" comments. She could forgive Sam and shook her forehead toward herself.
Kind of silly to get worked up over a word, yet everyone had pride. Didn't they? Ah, well. Time to work! Until this moment, Haylee didn't get the interesting pleasure of meeting either Jane, or Maxine. "We got some really good specials today!" Informing one couple, when being asked if there was anything "new" besides just the interior. Once Haylee had taken the order, she was flagged down by Jane, a wriggle of her fingertips and a slight giggle. Where as Maxine looked as stern as ever. Probably, secretly; well not so secret if you knew about Hyott; worrying over him. Dating a vampire! Just an'nt natural. That thought clouded her before ordering a ice tea for a drink to go with her meal.
So far, so good.

Summer wasn't far behind Brandy, dismounting the bike and pulling her helmet off. She threw Brandy a look, how did she get past the bike so fast? "You best not be using your magick to cheat me girl" Summer teased with a smile as she linked arms with her friend. Summer noted to herself just how d*mn good they both looked.
"Don't mind me once we get in there, I haven't seen Sam in almost half a day and it's killing me!"
Summer playfully rolled her eyes. She could tell Brandy was up to something just by the look she was giving and no sooner had they stepped into the bar, which was starting to fill up nicely. Summer made her way over to the bar and her favourite bar stool slap bang in the center. Except it was a new stool. Summer shrugged no matter. An audible gasp and an "Oh my Lord!" from Maxine Fortenberry made Summer turn round.
*facepalm*
Brandy just couldn't help herself. Summer shook her head with a grin and turned to look for the bar tender. She needed a drink badly. A pretty blonde waitress caught her eye and then the recognition factor kicked in. "Haylee?"

Sam was turning to make his way back over to the bar to start serving, when the door swung open and in walked Brandy and Summer. Sam smiled and was about to greet them both with some welcoming words when Brandy leaped up into his arms and wrapped her legs around his waist.
"Hello sexy"
Sam half-grinned, Brandy sure had a way about her and this would no doubt get the gossips talking again. Maxine was already yammering ten to the dozen. Sam gave her a small kiss. "Hello yourself."

After the small kiss and the 'hello yourself' - it became apparent to the males of the bar - and to the females of the bar, that these two gorgeous creatures were certainly taken. At least nobody in this bar, however, would be slipping Brandy and Sam bottles of wine and giving them hotel numbers.
Brandy had eased her way to the floor, landing on her feet gently. She wondered how long it would take for Sam to pick up on the scent she was wearing.. the one she had picked out just for him.
Casually she crossed her arms, leaning against him as if she wasn't quite ready for him to actually be working.
"Quite the turn-out hun, many more than I actually expected.. sure you have enough help back there?"
Brandy nodded her greeting to Haylee, who she definitely wasn't use to seeing bartend.

Brandy slid down onto her feet and leant against Sam and good lord did she smell good. He didn't know if it was stronger because of Shifter senses, but he didn't quite care either. Whatever she was wearing, was amazing.
"Quite the turn-out hun, many more than I actually expected.. sure you have enough help back there?"
Sam slipped his arm about Brandy's waist as he surveyed the bar. More and more people were making there way inside. Sam smiled, pretty pleased with himself. Proud and rightly so. "I think the drinks offer had a lot to do with it, but I'm glad people are coming out to have fun." Sam looked over towards the bar. Summer was sitting there on her own. Haylee was around and he was hoping to God that she'd survive the night. "Still waiting on Arlene and Terry to arrive and hopefully if he got my messages, Lafayette. We'll be okay....I think." he almost frowned at the end of his words, as if he was almost trying to convince himself too.

"Thanks Sam. I can wait." Damian was also trying to be as peaceful as possible. And wishing he had the same thing Sam and Brandy have, the love of someone else. "Well thanks for at least using the outfits." He smiled and decided to not order a drink. Then he changed his mind as he watched Sam and Brandy together. Damian wanted love and then he noticed as Summer give herself face a good hit.
She went to talk to a pretty blonde. One Damian could tell was completely human. He needed a big escape from noticing love and things that make him upset. He couldn't legally drink but he sure wanted something to ease all his heart-ache left by Alicia.

Sam's arm had slipped around her waist, and for a moment she had been lost in her own little world. It was a change after all, her brown eyes scanning over the new surroundings of the bar. She felt bad that she hadn't noticed Damian up until that moment.
"Damian, you made it after all!"
Brandy smiled toward her friend, remembering that she had asked Kaelyn to stop by in a bit but she wasn't sure if the poor girl could work up the nerve to actually come by. Kaelyn was a very.. very shy girl after all.
"Thank you so much for the outfits. Sam and I really appreciated them and we wore them out to dinner"
A few other locals had wandered in, including Arlene and Terry who did look impressed. Terry seemed more worried about the changes that 'might' of been made to the kitchen., however.
Brandy had inched away from Sam and took a seat beside Damian, because she noticed the look on his face - it was the same look she noticed on Sam before they started seriously dating.
"... I recognize that look Damian. Sam hid it a bit better than you but... your lonely aren't you?"
