Summer pushed the door to the restroom open and Brandy was standing at the sinks. Summer caught a hint of something in her eyes, but it was so quick a flash she couldn't tell what was going on inside her friends head. Summer walked over towards Brandy and snuck a quick glimpse of herself in one of the mirrors. She knew people hade been talking about her costume, she'd already seen some disapproving looks and snide glances. But Summer couldn't give a crap. As far as she was concerned she looked good and well it was either this or the Xena costume. Evan's approval just made her doubly confident.
"Hey Summer. You and Evan seem to be favoring well"
Brandy's question caught Summer off guard and she felt her face flush a little not to mention the racing heartbeat. Summer glanced down at her sandal clad feet and back up to meet Brandy's eyes. A huge grin on her face, even the mention of his name and the thought of him in her head made Summer turn from a confident strong woman into a giggling schoolgirl. Yes, she had it bad for her fellow Were. "Hey B" Summer tried to focus and not look so idiotic. "Oh, it seems so...all thanks to you" Summer smiled warmly and genuinely at her best friend. She could thank Brandy once every day for the rest of her life and it wouldn't be enough gratitude for what she did.
Brandy headed for the door and Summer lightly held her arm to try to get her to stop. "B...wait." Summer's words were soft and calm and she moved herself beside her friend. "Is everything alright, you seem distracted."

Seeing Summer happy, well, it made Brandy feel good. To be honest, she didn't really do much.. just casted a 'find your true love' spell so the love was already there. It was hard for anyone to understand about that spell, unless you were a witch yourself - and Brandy hadn't seen Kim or Kyle in almost a month.
So much for their coven, Brandy had tried to get them involved but it seemed she was getting too far ahead of her fellow witches. Brandy had been through so much, she was even surprised that she was still there. Between Derek, Jack, Maryann, and her own personal demons.. and now...
Brandy was inclined to reread her texts again when Summer broke into her thoughts.
"B...wait. Is everything alright, you seem distracted"
Brandy leaned against the wall, taking her pirate hat and eye patch off and shaking her hair loose. Which, surprisingly, was growing out again and was almost past her shoulders.
"I might have to leave Bon Temps for awhile. My father is really sick and I don't know how to tell Sam. I know he can't come with me, because of his responsibilities here.. I just don't know how long I am going to be gone for and if my father passes away.. I don't think I will be coming back. I couldn't leave my mom alone."

Summer's heart sank when Brandy opened up to her and she walked over to the wall and leant against it, putting a comforting arm across her friends shoulders. "Aw sh*t B. I'm so sorry." Summer spoke quietly, her green eyes were soft and sympathetic. "Talk to him B, he'll understand. This is your family you're talking about. You have to be there." Summer turned herself round, so she was facing onwards to Brandy. "You want me to go get him?" Summer stroked Brandy's dark brown hair, waiting to see what her friends response would be. ((ooc: Continuing this thread, waiting for Haylee/Adam/Va to catch up but continuing the Sam/Brandy discussion here to not flood this topic ))

Summer was still inside the ladies room with Brandy and another voiced interrupted Sam's thoughts. This time it was Summer's boyfriend. Your karaoke machine working? I've been tempted to actually get up there and sing"
Sam arched an eyebrow at Evan and replied back passively, "Sure it's working. Just go up when you want. Might get others to join in when they see someone up there first."
Sam's eyes focussed back on the ladies room and it wasn't long 'til Summer came out. But she came out alone and headed towards him.

Adam's eyes widened at Evan's question to Sam. The bar owner looked very distracted and concerned, but answered as politely as he could. Adam's hand slapped his forehead and he started to laugh. "You are not gonna sing, lookin like that dude." Adam knew Evan would anyway, and really he couldn't wait to see him in action and to see everyone's reactions in the bar. In fact of all the people there, Summer was the one person he was really interested to see react to it.

Nothing like a drink with twang! At least it is what some might say and speaking of which, Haylee slightly coughed after a few sips from her said drink. The Bloody Mary was defiantly interesting and tried to smile none the less; though quirked a eyebrow to a plan in motion. A night out with the "girls" would be lovely, though as to those involved: Something felt amiss. As to what, Haylee couldn't pinpoint and wondered just when a "night out" would be good to schedule. Still, she didn't want to turn down the idea, because she still liked it and gently nodded her forehead.
"I'm okay with it. Sound fun!" Really, it did. While glancing around the bustling room, she noticed a new comer at the bar and simply gave a polite nod. Now, something a little "interesting" caught her ear; the idea of Evan singing karaoke. Then Adam appeared to laugh and figured he wasn't going to sing, looking as he did. "Let em sing, if he wants." She couldn't help but chuckle herself, having never heard Evan carry a tune before. Now trying to pinch Adam's arm in a slightly playful way.

Summer watched as Sam headed out back to the office. Brandy wasn't too far behind, but she was so deep in thought she didn't see Summer give her a wave and a small smile of encouragement. Summer sighed, she couldn't imagine ever feeling like that if she got word of her parents being ill. It wasn't the nicest thought, so she kept it to herself.
Summer strolled behind the bar and gave Evan a smile. "Looks like I'm back on duty for a while." and gave him an apologetic shrug. "I'll explain it all later...and I'll make it up to ya." she gave Evan a wink and a smirk. She had made plans for tonight and if they could sneak off early, all the better.
Summer took note of an un-costumed stranger sitting at the bar, definetly two-natured Summer mused. She gave him her bartender smile, "Needing a refill yet?"
"Hey...a drink over here Princess." slurred Mike Spencer, taking note of Summer's skimpy slave girl Leia costume. Summer rolled her eyes and tried her best to be polite to the drunk coroner. "What can I get you Mike?"
"A double scotch on the rocks." Mike ordered all the while leering at Summer's cleavage. "and a little time with you, me and my laser sword" he waggled his eyes at Summer suggestively.
Summer curled her lip up in disgust and pointed her finger at Mike, her eyes scowling at him. "It's called a Lightsabre ya dumbass."

Evan was all about going up to that karaoke machine and hooking it up - it didn't look much more complicated than the motorcycle's he tinkered around with. He had made his way over to set it up, when his sensitive ears picked up something he didn't like to hear in the slightest. Not when it was directed to a woman - and definitely not when it was directed toward his woman.
Evan made his way over, even after Summer made her quirky comment back to this 'Mike Spencer' - Evan had Mike by the scruff of neck and had hoisted him in the air."Holy Sh!t! I didn't mean it! She doesn't need my laser sword!""THIS is MY girlfriend, and you will treat her with some respect! Your filthy mouth, you d@mn redneck, should learn the proper way to talk to ANY woman that graces this bar"Mike's eyes were big and he was nodding profusely, Evan's voice alone was enough to intimidate most of the guys that had looked toward them - even if it was coming from a guy in a wolf costume.
Evan dropped Mike to the ground, and pointed toward Summer. "Now apologize and get the f*ck out of here.""I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry"After his apology, Mike had staggered to his feet and Evan approached Summer - wrapping an arm around her waist and pulling her close."He doesn't even deserve to be in the same room with you"He kissed her lips before he slipped away and made it back to the karaoke machine. A few minutes passed, a couple of irritated looks, and Evan finally got the dumb thing working. The words became to scroll over the screen and Evan brought the mike to his lips.Steve Earle - Guitar Town"Hey pretty baby are you ready for me It's your good rockin' daddy down from Tennessee I'm just out of Austin bound for San Antone With the radio blastin' and the bird dog on There's a speed trap up ahead in Selma Town But no local yokel gonna shut me down 'Cause me and my boys got this rig unwound And we've come a thousand miles from a Guitar Town Nothin' ever happened 'round my hometown And I ain't the kind to just hang around But I heard someone callin' my name one day And I followed that voice down the lost highway Everybody told me you can't get far On thirty-seven dollars and a jap guitar Now I'm smokin' into Texas with the hammer down And a rockin' little combo from the Guitar Town
Hey pretty baby don't you know it ain't my fault I love to hear the steel belts hummin' on the asphalt Wake up in the middle of the night in a truck stop Stumble in the restaurant wonderin' why I don't stop
Gotta keep rockin' why I still can I gotta two pack habit and a motel tan But when my boots hit the boards I'm a brand new man With my back to the riser I make my stand And hey pretty baby won't you hold me tight We're loadin' up and rollin' out of here tonight One of these days I'm gonna settle down And take you back with me to the Guitar Town"When the song was done, he returned to his seat and waited to see who else would have the guts to get up there.

Rylan's eyes lit up when the karaoke machine began to play. Then she broke out into heavy bouts of laughter as she saw the man dressed as big bad wolf get up and sing this country song. ((I am assuming? If different will edit ))
She loved to do karaoke and would be more than happy to get up there and show her stuff. Rylan hopped up on the stage and flipped open the song book. She smiled as she plugged in the tune. "This song is dedicated to all you love birds out there. Also if you are my Mr. Right, I will be waiting in the parking lot after the party..." Rylan winked at the crowd and a familiar bluesy song pumped out of the speakers.
Something to Talk About People are talking, talking 'bout people I hear them whisper, you won't believe it They think we're lovers kept under covers I just ignore it, but they keep saying We laugh just a little too loud We stand just a little too close We stare just a little too long Maybe they're seeing something we don't, Darlin'.
I feel so foolish, I never noticed You'd act so nervous, Could you be falling for me? It took a rumor to make me wonder Now I'm convinced I'm going under Thinking 'bout you every day Dreaming 'bout you every night Hoping that you feel the same way Now that we know it, let's really show it, Darlin'.
Let's give them something to talk about Let's give them something to talk about Let's give them something to talk about How about love, love, love, love?
Let's give them something to talk about A little mystery to figure out Let's give them something to talk about How about love, love, love, love?
Throughout the song Rylan had been spicing it up a few extra notches with well thought out hip bumps and hand movements. When she was finished she smiled and held out the mike. "Anyone else wanna try?"

No sooner had the words slurred from Mike's lips than Evan was on him and he was livid. Grabbing the hapless Funeral Director by the scruff of the neck and demanding an apology. Summer didn't even have a chance to react, it was all pretty much a blur. Her mouth fell open and she began to make her way out from behind the bar to try to get Evan to let the man go. Tonight was a party and the last thing Merlotte's (Sam particularly) needed was a bar brawl.
Mike dropped to the floor and looked up at Summer, his eyes terrified. But he stammered out an apology and scuttled off as far away from Evan as possible. Summer felt Evan's arm around her waist and she was being reeled into him. "He doesn't even deserve to be in the same room with you"
She was a little ashamed to admit the whole scene sort of excited her and when he kissed her she wanted to be anywhere but in a bar full of people. She opened her eyes to see Evan walk over to the Karaoke machine and after a few minutes he got it up and running.
When he started to sing, Summer's eyebrows raised in surprise. His voice was actually pretty good. The song he sang was fairly familiar to her, if only because of her mother's taste in music. Even though he was up there in full wolf regalia, Summer couldn't take her eyes off him. Goofy wolf costume or not, that man was sexy. She bit on her bottom lip lightly as her mind wandered through her little plan. She'd managed to keep it a secret thus far and wouldn't utter a word about it till they were on there way home.
When Evan came back over he sat back on his seat at the bar, Summer took the lull in business to sneak back out in front of the bar. She wiggled herself in between his seat and the front of the bar, resting her hands on his fuzzy chest. "You know, you really didn't need to do that baby." Summer said moving closer, "I understand how you feel about certain things, but he wasn't gonna do anything, certainly nothing I couldn't have handled." she gave him a light kiss, "but thank you." her eyebrow arched and she tilted her head at him. "You never told me you were such a good singer. When did you become so modest?"
Summer really wanted Sam to come back out front, she knew he was in there with Brandy and that it was pretty important reason for them to be in the office. She hoped everything was alright and that Sam had managed to talk some sense into her friend. But she was out there on her own behind the bar, on the busiest night since the re-opening. Summer looked briefly over her shoulder as a pretty brunette girl took a turn to sing. Another talented vocalist, and if Summer's senses were not off, another Shifter.

The night was growing increasingly dull for the thousand year old vampire. People were talking, dancing singing, but nothing really interesting was happening. He noticed Pam in the building, but she seemed preoccupied with Ahmose and it made his whole body tense up in anger. But then a sudden outburst caught his eye. A couple of men engaged in a small argument got his blood racing. But as soon as it began it was over and Jack felt a little underwhelmed. The one interesting action that had happened was now over and Jack was always looking for a fight.
He let out what sounded like a sigh and folded his arms in annoyance. Tonight was supposed to be fun, especially as Pam had said she would be there, but with her busy with his rival and everyone else avoiding Jack it was fast becoming boring. He shrugged and made his way through the mass of bodies toward the bar.
The scents of the people around grew clearer, shifters and weres everywhere. He glanced at each in turn and slowly shook his head. It was almost like a whole pack was here of the wretched creatures were here. He slowly raised a pale hand to get the bar tenders attention. She was dressed in some ridiculous clothing that barely covered her flesh. She was a shifter and instantly he found himself repulsed by her.
"A Tru Blood when you have the time." He asked sharply, narrowing his eyes at her. "Or are you too busy with that ball of fur?" He said indicating the other were in a wolf costume.

Pam took her mask off as she approached Jack. He looked fierce sitting on the bar stool, very much in predator mode at the moment. She chuckled as she heard his comment. "Jack, it pleases me that you are here. You look very dashing. Just like I thought you would. This jacket was undoubtedly made to be worn across your shoulders." She ran her hand across one of his shoulder blades and flicked off an imaginary piece of lint. His shoulder was hard and firm. Coiled, ready for action. This man lived for the fight.
"Not that I don't agree with you but if you wouldn't mind let's not try to start a fight in here at the party. Having a certain person angry this evening would make my home life a little difficult." She smiled at him with her fangs partially extended. It was no surprise to her that she found Jack desirable. He was ruggedly handsome, loyal to his maker, wise with age and a warrior. Everything you would want in a vampire. "If you are bored in here, maybe we could go some where else to entertain you. I am certain there are plenty of things we could do to keep you occupied."
She looked back at the bartender. The costume the shifter wore was hugging all the right places and made Pam want to drool. She tilted her head and looked disappointed. "It really is a pity, some of the best looking humans are two natured. Oh well. Miss, please hurry with the True Blood. Make mine B-." Pam didn't really like shifters or want more to do with them than she had to but she also didn't want to deal with a p*ssed off Eric. Sookie would be angry and banish them from the bar and then Pam would have to deal with the after math. She was the one who invited Jack after all. Pam shuddered, that was something she never wanted to see, Eric's wrath.

At those words, Brandy couldn't help but to smile. There wasn't a doubt in her mind that Sam would ever' choose another over her just because she was out of town. And she really couldn't put into words how much she would miss him. She hated to be leaving.
"We should go back to the party I guess"
The two looked cute, Brandy had to admit - in their matching pirate costumes. She reached for his hand, leading him out of the office and looking at him as she walked backward toward the bar.
"I'll come back when my father is better, hopefully I won't be out of town too long"
Brandy turned around, and found herself almost staring at Pam.. and Jack? Jack! Why was Jack here? Did he overhear what she had said? Oh $hit... if he was here to start trouble - -
"What are you doing here, Jack?"

Adam let Evan take care of the pervert that was letching all over Summer by himself. Evan was a solidly built guy and his twin-nature made him extra strong. He'd seen similar scenario's play out before back home, but this was different. The rotund male made a play for Summer and she was Evan's, so that changed the rules entirely. It didn't help he was with Haylee and he didn't want her to think badly of him.
But thankfully no sooner had Evan dealt with the situation, it was over. Peace was restored and Evan got up towards the Karaoke machine. Adam was grinning now, in between swigs of his beer. "Oh this'll be good." he winked towards Haylee and he felt his hand reach for hers. "You wanna hear him sing...now's you're chance Princess."
Adam quietly sung along with the lyrics, but not so loud to distract any attention from Evan's performance. He stopped singing to speak to Haylee again, "I always told him we could've made a living out of it. But he was more interested in engines and women." Adam let out a little chuckle at the memories of days past.
When Evan was finished, Adam gave him a small round of applause and patted him on the back before he took his seat back at the bar. Summer came round and squeezed herself next to Evan. Adam gave her a nod a smile and a knowing look. Summer had made plans for after the party, plans that only involved Evan and herself. Adam was only too happy to help out, they deserved a break and just to have some time to themselves.
Then something set Adam on edge, so much so it distracted him from the pretty girl who'd taken to the stage after Evan. He'd listened to her enough to realise, she too was a competent singer. Adam's eyes moved to the bar, a tall man in a suit was trying his utmost to instigate something. No, not a man...a Vampire. Adam found his lips curling into a sneer instinctively. He had no love for Vampires, being raised in a Were family gives you a different perspective on the undead.
Another female Vampire sidled up towards the male Vampire and made an effort to cool any unecessary tensions. At least one of them was adhering to the rules.
Brandy came out front with Sam not far behind her, her face fell at the sight of the male Vampire who she seemed to know as 'Jack'. Adam kept on his defensive, just incase.

Vaughn sat back watching everything taking place. Several people at the party were two natured. There were also several vampires which was interesting. He noticed Pam and Eric right away. His instincts were screaming at him to leave the bar but Vaughn stood firm. Family comes first, always and he wasn't going to five up now.
Vaughn started to get up when he heard a girl start to sing. Her voice was rich and soulful, he had her this girl sing before. "Rylan? Oh my god! Rylan, is that you?" Vaughn muttered under his breath. As he looked up at the stage he saw a girl dressed in a pink kimono. There was no doubt in his mind, that girl was his sister. Vaughn practically jumped off the bar stool and raced to get to her side.
He smiled at her as she asked if anyone else wanted a turn. "I think that maybe I should give it a try. That is unless of course you'd rather join me for a drink." Rylan hated being hitting on in bars. She always wanted to be the one to initiate everything. It always came back to the fact that she was too impatient. Vaughn wondered sometimes how she could even shift back into her human self.
