She really had to get a car of her own soon, and that also meant finding a job as well to pay for things. She still had some money left from what Dahl gave her when she left Drammen, but it was slowly dwindling. Maybe her mom could help her with some kind of resume so she could apply for a few jobs back in Shreveport. Or, maybe she could look at going back to school. That was a better thought, since she really didn't go to high school because she left the states when she was 14. So much was going on in her head that she sometimes felt dizzy with it all moving around up there. She always did have a bit of a hard time focusing on one thing for long, which was also why she had a hard time with her shifting. Letting out a small sigh, she pushed open the front door to Merlotte's and walked inside. Tonight she was dressed a little better then when she was here before with her parents. Instead of the comfortable shorts from before, she had on a nice black denim skirt that was short, but not too short. For a shirt, she had a halter top that laced up to just above her breasts, leaving her collar bone and shoulder area bare. It was a tight top, hugging her small curves, and it had been a gift from Eyolf, was a bright scarlet red, and his favorite color. Then there was her favorite pair of boots, Harley Davidson biker boots. She loved them and wore them everywhere she could. Glancing around, she noticed the locals and even blushed a little bit as a few of the men stared at her. It had to be expected, she was new around here, and people in small towns always noticed that. Squaring her shoulders back, she looked straight ahead and walked to the bar to slide herself up on one of the empty stools there. She wanted to find out if this would be a vampire friendly place before she told Eyolf about it. Licking her lips, she looked at all the bottles behind the bar and then shook her head at herself. She was driving, and her parents car at that. There was no way she would drink tonight. And so she waited to see if there was someone who would take a drink order.

Sam was on bar duty tonight and just as it was most other nights. Merlotte's was nice and busy. He placed an order of three Miller's and a vodka and coke onto a tray that was picked up by red headed waitress Arlene Fowler. She smiled a smile, that was more reminiscent of a grimace and took the order to a table in her area of the floor.
A pretty raven haired girl came in and sat at the bar. She attracted many admiring glances from the local male population. He'd have to keep an eye on them, make sure they didn't get too rowdy. Sam putting on his best owner smile, moved toward her. "What can I get'cha?"

She noticed the man behind the bar and remembered him from when she was here with her parents. Licking her lips, a nervous gesture of hers, she glanced up at him and offered a shy smile. "A cup of coffee and glass of sweet tea please. I am driving, so nothing strong tonight." Her nails tapped against the bar top as she wanted to say something else, but she wasn't quite sure how to put it. Now chewing on her bottom lip, she tried clearing her throat and leaned forward on the bar, lowering her voice to a whisper. "Do you um, do you carry any of that um, you know...." she fumbled her words and felt herself blush. "Do you carry any of that Tru Blood? Not that I want any, I don't drink it. I was just wondering is all. I have a friend. Not every place sells it in the bars. So I was curious." So instead of fumbling, now her words all came out at once, like verbal diarrhea. Completely embarrassed now, she sat back on her stool and chewed on her bottom lip some more.

The girl made her order "A cup of coffee and glass of sweet tea please. I am driving, so nothing strong tonight." Sam smiled back, it was nice to see responsibility. So many of the locals would need cabs or relatives to come collect them after one drink too many. "No problem comin' right up." he turned to prepare her order, when he heard her stumbling over her words nervously. She asked about Tru Blood. He gave her a quick once over and an innocent inhale through the nose.
A shifter! He was curious as to what a shifter would want with synthetic blood. "Sure we sell Tru Blood. " he began cautiously. "More and more Vampires are passing through Bon Temps, so it's always best to keep it handy." he smiled grimly. "Anyway, I'll go get your drinks."

Still chewing on her bottom lip, she listened to Sam speak. . "More and more Vampires are passing through Bon Temps, so it's always best to keep it handy." She noticed his grim smile and wondered to herself if he didn't like the fact that he hand vampires passing through the place. "Oh, so then vampires do come in here?" She spoke quietly, almost as if speaking to herself. "Are they welcome around here? I mean, people don't start chasing them with pitch forks or nothin' right?" She just wanted to be sure her friend would not be hurt if he came here one night with her, and it seemed like a friendly enough place. "I only ask because," she swallowed visibly, nervous as to how much she should tell a person. "I have a friend who is of the night time persuasion. He is not like most I have seen or met. You know the ones who like to scare people and act all mean and killer like? Well my friend is not like that. So I was just curious if he would be welcome here if we came in one night. If not that is cool, I just wanted to show him the place because I like it." God she was talking too much again. There was something different about this man who was behind the bar and she couldn't put her finger on it. She felt like she knew him somehow, but she never met this man before in her life. Getting a little confused at herself, she sat quietly and waited for her drinks.

Sookie was in a rush today, being a tad bit late for work. It must have been that long night she had, all the talking. With that thought, she smiled a bit to herself as she walked into Merlotte's. It was going to be a busy night, as it had been a busy night for everyone tonight in Bon Temps. Those vampires were sure making their way here. Sherveport was growing and the seclusion of Bon Temps made it more suitable for the common vampire.
Tying on her apron as tight as she could, Sookie walked in the door and looked for Sam. Since she needed to say her sorry's right away, as usual, and for respect. Sam was the best boss a girl could have. Making her way to the bar, Sookie made sure her apron was tied and quickly began to say something "Im sorry Sam! I will make..." and noticed he was talking to someone. "Oh, please excuse me. I am so sorry for interpreting. Excuse me!" She said again with sympathy looking at the girl and then at Sam, waiting for his response.

Sam was about to reply to the girl at the bar, when Sookie came bounding in her face and words apologetic. "Hey Sookie." he beamed at her before realising she was a little late for her shift. "Don't worry about it. You're here now right."
He turned back to the girl, "So long as your friend doesn't cause any trouble. He's more than welcome." Sam wasn't exactly a Vampire's best friend, but business was business so he meant what he said. "We've not had much trouble here and I like to keep it that way." he placed the drinks order in front of her, "Enjoy"
He looked back over at Sookie. "So how's my favourite waitress today?"

Deja noticed the bouncy blonde come into the bar and had to smile a little bit. Sookie reminded her of a ray of sunshine with her happy attitude, and Sam sure seemed to brighten up at the sight of Sookie. Deja nodded her thanks for her drinks and spoke quietly. "Oh, he is never any trouble, very polite and well mannered." Deja then bit her lip to stifle a giggle because it almost sounded like she was describing a puppy and not her vampire friend. Though sometimes, Eyolf did get a little playful which seemed off for a vampire and kind of creeped her out a little bit. Then to Sookie, she said, "Oh no interruption, I was just curious if vampires were welcome here." saying the word "vampires" in a more whispered tone. Taking a sip of her coffee and enjoying the rich taste that she loved, she thought back to her vampire friend and the other night when he was talking to her about Dahl. He didn't finish what he was telling her and now it worried her a little bit.

Rose hadn't been back to Merlotte's since she first came by it, so tonight she had decided it was time to find out a bit more about the area. Knowing it was only a bar Rose had decided to just dress casually so she didn't stand out too much. She ran from the hotel she was staying in in Shreveport and laughed when she found herself outside Merlotte's, it had been a while since she had let herself run like that and she loved it. Sh had almost forgot to stop running so fast before she hit the door.
As Rose entered Merlotte's she noticed Sookie, the barmaid she had met previously, was woeking again tonight. There seemed to be some other people around also, deciding she just wanted to sit by the bar she took a stool and waited to be served.

Sam, Sam, Sam. He was always just too nice. Never fail, he was just kind. "Thanks Sam. Im doing swell tonight!" She replied as she looked at the girl he was talking too. For some reason, Sookie got this vibe from her, the kind of vibe she got from Sam. Could it be another supe? Wow, Bon Temps was sure growing with more and more things to discover. She listened to her question and just smiled. "Well, if Sam aint filled ya in, I sure can." She replied as she made sure her apron was tied strong enough to hold her new order book.
"We get lotsa vampires in here. Bill Compton was our first, and since then, they just come all the time. Being welcome, I guess, as long as they pay, right Sam!" She said with a giggle. At that moment, Sookie looked around to see if anyone needed service in her area and spotted Rose. A vampire she had met awhile ago, who always seemed so quite. Which when she thought about it, made her kinda scared. But she did not think this vamp was gonna kill anyone. "Speaking of being welcome!" She said as she walked over to Rose. "Hiya there Rose. Bottle of True Blood tonight?" She asked and looked over that the girl Sam was talking with in a, look I found one, kinda way.

Being welcome, I guess, as long as they pay, right Sam! Sookie said with her typical bright smile. A smile that could melt a polar ice cap. She'd put him on the spot though, and she new his caution about Vampires. Sookie was so open minded and warm, and her relationship with Bill didn't seem to quash any of it. That made him happy and soon a smile formed on his face.
"Uh, sure. S'long as it's legal tender of course." he attempted a little business humour and shifted uncomfortably and strolled to the other end of the bar.

(ooc note. Maroon text is Norwegian being spoken. Teal is normal English.) The waitress Sookie reminded Deja of a ray of sunshine and she couldn't help but smile at Sookie's smiling face. Perhaps this place was even better then she thought if people like Sookie worked there. Sipping her coffee, Deja's thoughts circled again around what she was going to do with her life. School right now seemed to be the best option. Finish off her high school, and then perhaps college. But what would she take in college? She did have a talent for art, and loved to draw people. In fact there were a few portraits she did for Dahl that he kept in his business office. The, just in the middle of her thoughts, she felt her pocket vibrate and a low ring came soon after. She forgot she had the cell phone with her, one that Eyolf gave her. Reaching into her pocket she pulled out the slim phone and saw it was the vampire himself calling her. Turning herself slightly away from the other people at the bar, she answered the call. "Hello there dark, dead and friendly." She said with a small laugh. "Where are you? You are not at your home and your parents said you took the car to go out. And I know you are not at Fangtasia." Eyolf spoke in his native tongue of Norwegian, his deep voice caressing over her ear almost making her shiver. He just had that voice that could melt any woman when he spoke, it was a natural gift. d**n him. "Oh, well I found a new bar place. Well it is a restaurant too, really nice. You would like it, people are friendly and they sell Tru Blood here." Deja replied to Eyolf in Norwegian as well. "Why didn't you wait for me before going to an unknown place? don't you remember what happened last time you went out to a bar?" Deja could tell he was a little angry, but she couldn't understand why. She was a big girl and could take car of herself. Sure when she went into Fangtasia that one time things got a little crazy, but she would have handled it. "Why are you angry with me? I came here to see if this place was vampire friendly because I wanted to bring you here. Sorry for looking out for you, it won't happen again." She snorted into the phone. If he was going to act like a jerk, then she could too and promptly hung up on her friend. "Stupid pale jerk." She muttered as she put the phone back in her pocket and ignored the call that was coming in again.

Rose couldn't help but smile around Sookie, she was always so cheerful and one of the only humans Rose knew who treated vampires as she would anyone else. This wasn't a bad thing in Rose's mind as it made her more at ease. Looking up from her position as Sookie approached she smiled at the waitress.
"Yes, O negative please, Sookie." Rose was slightly amazed at how one never really lost the knowledge of good manners. Hearing the ringing of a phone Rose glanced around and noticed the young shifter. It still amazed her at the advances humans had made in the last one hundred years, 'just look at the size they can get those phones down to now. The young shifter seemed to be having an argument with someone, Rose, being vampire, somewhat recognized it, though she had to think. She had never really learnt more than a couple including Spanish and of course English which was her native tongue. Before the revelation she didn't see much of a point because she pretty much knew what screaming and pleading sounded like in most languages, although Rose could glamour she didn't always use it on the humans she had previously fed on.
Rose also noticed the male behind the bar, "Sookie, who's your co-worker? He seems a bit...different." Rose looked up at Sookie with a hint of a question in her eyes.

Sookie laughed alittle at Sam's legal tender comment. He was always in such a good mood, so nice and so kind. She loved him as a boss and could not ask for any better. He treated her with the most respect that one could, even when she did stupid things. Like almost get killed, all the time. Noting Rose's blood order, she walked behind the bar to warm it up.
Listening to her as well, she started the microwave and walked back over towards Rose and leaned in. "Well, different in the way that he is one of the nicest people you would ever meet!" She said with a smile. Since it was not her place to tell anyone what Sam was, she figured now was not the best place. Of course, Rose could probably tell that his warmth was more than normal. But, she wasnt about to mention it. As she was warming the bottle, the girl who Sam was talking to got a phone call and was speaking in some weird language. One that Sookie sure had not one clue in hell what it was.
Bottle warmed, she grabbed it and handed it back to Rose. "Here ya go darling!" She said with a smile. "What kinda language was she speaking?" She asked Rose in a soft tone, since she rather thought just asking someone what they were talking in was kinda rude. A vampire would for sure know, since they had been around a long time.

There was a small growl that sounded out and it rather surprised Deja. A little wide eyed, she put her hand over her own stomach and felt her cheeks flame in a blush as she was the one who made that sound, or rather her tummy did. Silly her forgot to eat earlier, and it seemed lately she was always hungry. Drinking the rest of her coffee, she started on her sweet tea. There was just something about the opposites of the drinks that she liked. Opposites attracted to her for some reason, and perhaps that was why she was such good friends with someone who was daylight challenged. Clearing her throat a little bit to get someone's attention, as she did still see Sookie near the bar, she spoke up, her voice pleasant and soft. "Excuse me, would it be possible to get the biggest burger that you have on the menu, loaded, with everything?"
