(This is mostly for Steve, but anyone else feel free to join)
The night was throbbing with heavy techno and guitar beats inside Fangtasia. The fangbangers with their more than willing consorts, children of the night, and tourists all surveyed the venue, even those hanging out in the parking lot. A few bikers showed off their rides, underage humans hoping to get a glimpse of a vampire feeding but to no avail and just those wanting to walk on the wild side. Most who were there to observe were too chicken to enter the club, they just stood outside and wished they could enter. Those too young tried for fake I.Ds but usually got kicked out with a scary warning. It was all a typical night for those who lavish it.
As throngs of vampires and humans entered the bar, one figure stood off to the side, leaning against the wall as if waiting for someone. Anouk was waiting for someone alright, Constantine, an old friend who happened to drop by Shreveport for drinks. An old vampire, the two met in Paris in the 40's and shared many fantastic nights in the city of love, though their relationship was strictly platonic. As Anouk stood there in a knee length black dress, strapless of course to show off her shoulders and an empire waist, she caught the eye of a few, but didn't look back at them. While standing there, she saw a group of vampires crowding around something or someone, but blew it off as a fangbanger slitting their wrists for a hungry night embracer.

Steve was determined to find out what these creatures were up to, he knew it couldn't be good and that they were putting on face. But humans always liked to put themselves in way of temptation, and Steve also knew that this was a huge temptation for them, another reason he was convinced they were the devils beasts. It was hard watching so many innocents fall for their wiles, though he doubted it was always voluntary, vampires did have that glamour thing, I wonder exactly how it works. As Steve was musing over this he parked up a block away from where he was heading, Fangtasia, a den of sin. If e had his way the place wouldn't exist., but in a sense he was glad it did, he knew where the vampires would be.
So here was Steve, standing outside Fangtasia, trying his best to look unnoticeable, and watching the comings and goings closely. When he could he noted certain things he hoped would come in useful, but even knowing the rough number of his enemies was helpful. He had forgot about the vampires keen sense of smell and eagle eyes, just as he remembered he seen some glance at him. They won't touch me, they can't. Boldly Steve looked at them them casually turned to look at all the sinful humans enter the dreadful building.

Waiting there, tapping her feet, this vampire began to grow impatient for her guest. Anouk pulled out her cellphone and saw no missed calls, no new text messages. Nada. Nothing from Constantine saying he'd be late. She simply sighed and pressed her head against the cold, hard wall, basking in the red glow of the Fangtasia light. The one throng of vampires shifted there attention to some new plaything, and Anouk wasn't exactly sure what. With keen eyes and an even keener sense of smell, she knew who they were leering at. Steve Newlin, the vampire hater. What the h*ll was he doing here?
'He looks too good to eat...' One said, another reached out to touch him. As they began to circle around the man, Anouk got up from her post and walked over, trying to get a closer look. At that very second, one at jumped at Steve and another leaned in quickly for a taste, but Anouk rushed in to stop them. "He is mine!" What was she doing! As she proclaimed this, the vampires backed off, looking at Anouk with a mix of disgust and confusion. Anouk quickly grabbed Steve by the arm and tugged on him, nodding her head over behind the bar for a little chat.

The vampires leered towards him, but Steve had expected no less had he been spotted, even as he was secure in his belief they would not touch him he had something tucked into his jacket. I knew they couldn't be trusted, Steve looked at what had interested the vampires before they spotted him, something was lying on the ground, but a vampire blocked his view of what it was.
'He looks too good to eat...' One of the vampires said over him, as another ones hand slowly came out towards him. "Back off devil creatures," whispered Steve as he was aware of their super hearing. They started circling around Steve, so pretending to fix his jacket he slipped a hand into his pocket where he could feel what he had placed there to protect himself. Of course Sarah had not wanted him to come, and Gabe had wanted to come with him, maybe in hindsight it would have been good. But Steve had decided Gabe could be to rash and had come along by himself, now here he was in the middle of a group of vampires. Suddenly one of the creatures lunged at Steve, he was so close he could see his fanges.
"He is mine!" Steve heard her before he could see her, as Anouk's words the other vampires backed off, some looking at her with what could only be described with disgust. Who does she think she is? I can handle myself. Steve recognised the girl as the vampire he had met in a diner, Anouk she was called, and she had tried to trick him into believing she was human at first, as if it would be that easy to fool me. As Anouk grabbed Steve by the arm he turned to her, "What do you think you are doing? Let me go devil thing!" Steve tried to put menace behind the words, but it was coming out all wrong, even he could hear the shock in his voice.
((ooc: any thoughts Steve has about the last encounter are his own beliefs of how it happened.))

Anouk wanted to sigh, but she was too angry to do that. What did she think she was doing?! What was he doing?! Anouk knew this Steve wasn't too bright, but come to Fangtasia, alone knowing d**n well he was hated around these parts. Anouk did let go of him, forcefully, throwing him out of her grip. "What am I doing? What are you doing!? You're lucky this 'devil creature' saved your @ss before they made of a meal out of you!" Anouk was furious for some reason, like she actually cared for this insect of a man. She could hear the confusion in his voice, and shock that she actually saved him and didn't join in on the feeding. "You know d@am well you're hated around here, why would you even take the chance of showing your smug face when you know you'd be in danger. You're lucky I was here, because no other vampire would have saved your sorry ass!" Anouk started pacing, hands on her hips. She looked like a worried mother of all things, running her fingers through her hair, she tossed it behind her shoulder and looked at Steve with imploring eyes.

"What am I doing? What are you doing!? You're lucky this 'devil creature' saved your @ss before they made of a meal out of you!"
"You think I can't look after myself!? Well I have something more powerful behind me than you think. And it's none of your business what I am doing here." It was obvious Steve was going on the offensive here, he didn't like feeling like he wasn't in charge of a situation, maybe he had miscalculated the danger posed here, but he was never going to admit it. Steve found it strange that this vampire professed how many of them hated him, yet she thought she rescued him, and now she sounded angry!! Well, I'm sure she has something up her sleeve, she probably wants me for herself. Wants to try and twist me to her liking. "How dare you call me yours!! Like I am a thing!! You shall never have me."
"You're lucky I was here, because no other vampire would have saved your sorry ass!"
Steve bristled at being treated as a mere thing by this evil being, he was starting to get angry with her. If only he had stayed hidden better, he maybe could have seen something, but now he was getting a better idea. One that Gabe would love, though he should phone ahead to make sure everything was ready he knew he couldn't really get the time he needed to do this. He ran his fingers along the object in his pocket, frowning at Anouk. "Maybe I didn't need saving, I had everything under control." He could feel her stare, is she trying that glamouring thing? Gritting his teeth he waited to see what she would do.

Now Anouk was sighing at Steve out of frustration. He was so hard-headed and willful. Just like every other man out there, he hated being saved by a woman, a vampire woman at that.
"You think I can't look after myself!? Well I have something more powerful behind me than you think. And it's none of your business what I am doing here." Anouk wanted to scoff when he said those words, and she did. "No, you can't! No human could overpower 5 hungry vampires with a grudge!" The last part was true, it wasn't any of her business but now she was part of his business when she proclaimed him 'hers'. This was one snafu she would be stuck in for a while. "How dare you call me yours!! Like I am a thing!! You shall never have me." Again, she had to do some explaining. With very animated hand-flailing and pacing, she spoke to him in a rush, loud tone. "It's the only way they'd back off. When a vampire claims a human, it means that I have exclusive rights to you and that no other vampire can lay a hand on you without my permission." This did bring up a problem, almost the entire parking lot heard Anouk claim Steve, and word did fly fast around Fangtasia, and sooner or later Eric would get news about Steve being Anouks. "And by the way, I don't want you and I never will." Maybe Anouk was lying when she said that, but Anouk was a very good liar. She placed her hands of her hips and looked at Steve, her lips pursed and her nose slightly crinkled out of anger. You had to admit, Anouk did look adorable when she was mad.
But she was curious as to why Steve was here, and decided to investigate. "So, why exactly are you here?"

"When a vampire claims a human, it means that I have exclusive rights to you and that no other vampire can lay a hand on you without my permission."
"Claims? I am NOT a possession, and neither is any other human I know. We are not anyones to claim. How dare you demons decide on such things." The shock on Steve's face slowly turned into a simmering anger. After this outburst he started muttering under his breath, completely forgetting Anouk would still be able to hear him. "Wait til they hear about this!! I just knew they thought they could do what they want with us." Steve started to pace up and down, he needed to do something, anything, this situation was not something he had anticipated.
Turning to look at Anouk, her posture just done more to anger him, she looked angry with him, as if he had done something wrong. He hated how these creatures could look so human, the look she was giving him almost made him feel guilty. Checking his pockets to find his phone, he was happy to find that he had remembered to put it in his jacket before leaving the car. Just as he was taking it our to dial Gabe Anouk spoke.
"So, why exactly are you here?"
His gaze darted quickly to Anouk with a look of suspicion, what does she want to know for? Does she know something? "I was in the area." Steve had no plans on telling any of these beings anything. Looking back at his phone he quickly dialed Gabe's number. "I can't talk much. I'll be back soon, meet me in my office, we have something to discuss." Hanging up without waiting for a reply he looked around himself to see if any more vampires lingered.

What an idiot. Zealous people often aren't the smartest however. Anouk's expression softened a bit as she calmed down, still the thoughts of why she was angry fluttered around in her head. Removing her hands from her hips, her arms were now crossed, her eyes fixed on the anxious, pacing man.
"Claims? I am NOT a possession, and neither is any other human I know. We are not anyones to claim. How dare you demons decide on such things."
Anouk rolled her eyes at this statement, but then a sly smirk crept on her face. Letting her neck relax, she gave almost a scoff accompanied with a sarcastic smile.
"Without me claiming you, you'd be dead. Or just severely injured and left for dead." Anouk looked around in the crowd, trying to sense out Constantine, but no sign of him. Anouk let out a sigh for dramatic effect, before looking back at Steve. His little comment about vampires thinking they could do what they pleased with humans was, well, almost true. Most vampires, including Anouk, felt dominant to these primitive beings, but it didn't mean Anouk couldn't feel for some of them. Anouk only saved Steve because the humans would go crazy if he was murdered. But back to her unanswered question. "I can glamor you to tell me, or you can tell me now? I'm actually very curious as to why a vampire hater, the biggest of them all, is at Fangtasia."

"Without me claiming you, you'd be dead. Or just severely injured and left for dead."
Although Steve did not doubt her words he was still unwilling to admit he had put himself in danger, he had a firm belief that he would be saved, though did not expect a vampire to save him. I don't even know why I'm still standing here! With this thought Steve felt bolstered and looked at Anouk with a new fervour. "I do not have to stay around here, I suppose I should thank you for..." He just couldn't do it, admitting that this creature had saved him went against everything he believed. He needed to get back to the centre, he needed to think about this she-devil, make sense of what she was doing to him.
"I can glamor you to tell me, or you can tell me now? I'm actually very curious as to why a vampire hater, the biggest of them all, is at Fangtasia."
Again anger flickered across Steve's face, a vampire woman questioning him? As if he has no rights!! "Am I not allowed to visit a den of such sin? I am a man of God after all, and these places need to be visited to see who I can save." In part, it was some truth, he had decided if there was some young woman he could get his hands on he could take them back to the centre, question them, but he had also been scoping out the regulars. Normally he would send along one of his 'soldiers' but so much had happened recently he only trusted himself for this mission.
