*=linkHaylee felt a little strange, as she had to admit that it was something "new again" to sleep on a bed. Despite that, she was a little; ok: Extremely happy to start the day! This only came from obtaining a job and receiving a helping hand, that she didn't expect to happen so soon. One, that she was grateful for and like she told Sam, she wouldn't let him down. Haylee appeared a little before her mark; still pretty close. Ok.. it's 11:48 am, that would be good, right? The early bird catches the worm! Her feelings gathered after thought as she entered Merlotte's, wearing a *laid back and worn look, she tried to refrain from scuffing her boots on the floor. She would have been in uniform, except: She didn't have her uniform yet, which Haylee forgot to ask about the last time she was here, in all of her excitement. "In my excitement, I forgot the important stuff." She perked up a little sheepishly and mentally sighed.

Haylee came into Merlotte's almost bouncing. She was much like Sookie in the enthusiasm department. Though she was dressed almost like a female version of himself, Sam smiled at her. "Hey there Haylee." he finished setting up the bar and walked over to her.
In my excitement, I forgot the important stuff. Haylee looked genuinely sorry. Sam waved it off as nothing. "Don't worry about it, you can bring it in on your next shift." he smiled reassuringly, "You got more important things going on up there right now." he pointed to her head.
"Come through to the back and I'll find you a uniform." he motioned his body towards his office.

For some god awful reason Kyle just couldn't seem to get to sleep once he and Jessica parted ways last night. He felt tired, like he should be asleep, but his body just wouldn't turn over. So, he read, and read, and watched a little tv....And now it was almost mid-day.
He mixed up a quick drink, think of it as a witch version of coffee - perks him up and takes away the tired feeling, at least for a while. Now, what to do? The idea of reading made him want to scream, and his hunger was making itself known. Nothing in the hosue so either go shopping - blah - or get some breakfast at Merlottes. That idea sounded good.
He left home and walked to Merlottes, the walk doing him good and somehow making him feel even more awake. Strange. It was early so Merlotte's would probably be pretty empty. Hmm, come to think of it, he had never really had a proper conversation with SAm Merlotte, maybe now he would...
He opened the door and slid through into the warm bar/restaurant. Okay...the place seemed pretty empty, since he couldn't see Sam or Haylee from his vantage point...so he too ka seat at the bar, and waited...

While continuing to feel pretty sheepish, Haylee nodded toward Sam's greeting. Eventually, she managed to chuckle at herself for being a little slow today. Being only yesterday that Haylee felt bubbly and serious about this job, only to forget a tiny important fact. A uniform of all things to forget inquiring about. When she had enough courage to go and tell the complete truth, about herself, only to have the downfall of forgetting a uniform. It probably looked bad on her part, she assumed but Sam had motioned different. Telling her not to "worry about it", boy; that had really brought her up some, no....A LOT.Haylee smiled, "Ok. Um, N' thanks for-well, everything Sam."
She really meant it. Finally being able to make some form of a comment. The only thing going around in her brain had been a series of previous thoughts. Will she be on time? Will she last the day? She'd hope so, as her mom had made the job look so effortlessly. Nah, she didn't need to revisit that. All she had to do was: Give it her all. God would point you in a direction, that he felt you needed to be and then you just had to give it try. If you fail, you fail. If you succeed, then it's really wonderful. Of course, failing isn't a pleasant emotion but there is a plan for everyone! Haylee then began to follow Sam through the back, in order to get a uniform.

"Ok. Um, N' thanks for-well, everything Sam." Haylee said with obvious sincerity. Sam smiled at her, "It's honestly not a problem. Think nothing of it, really." Sam waved his hand in a modest sign of dismissal, as if this gesture wasn't a rare sign of deceny.
He walked through into the back and opend up his office and pulled open a door that had all sorts of various supplies in it. Everything from sellotape to staples to extra notepads. But at the very top of the closet was a wooden panel shelf. It had packs of white t-shirts all neatly packed in cellophane
He frowned as he realised he had no idea what Haylee's size was. He turned his head to look at her. "Not meanin' to be rude, but what size are ya?"

Okay, it was official. Sam had to be the most understanding, kind and considerate boss, that she's EVER come across! Really, this had to be her lucky day, er-streak, to have arrived all of a sudden. Haylee clung to a hope that it would stay that way, at least for awhile. While going around the back, Haylee managed to catch a small glimpse at their supplies. It was especially neat to see how a business, such as Merlotte's, that managed to stay afloat with a few things. Staples, she could understand that; it was a office supply. Haylee could also understand the pads, as you needed to write down orders; in her case it was to write and to doodle on. One thing puzzled her, "What's the sellotape for?"
It didn't need to be answered right away, but to have some kind of a answer would be nice. Haylee blinked as Sam had turned near her, giving her a slight look and within that instance, she wasn't sure what to think. Aside from touching her cheek, wondering if she had something on her face. Although, glad to find nothing there and even relieved when hearing him speak. Wondering her size, that's not a question you should ask a lady, much less her age. Yet, it's understandable as Haylee answered the question. "I wear a large."
(OCC: Close enough. lol I think it's.. cellophane?)

Opening the door just a bit Tara poked her head in and was met with a deserted looking bar. Maybe it was earlier than she thought. That 11 had looked like a one in her disoriented state, and there would be a few angry drivers and pedestrians because of her panic. The one thing that bothered her more than anything lately had been her tardiness to work. Why couldn't she just wake up, take a shower and go to work? Naw, it was always "pass-out-until-I-don't-know-when" and then "wake-up-wondering-what-happened" with her lately. Maybe it was all the weed? However no matter how hard the black-haired mocha-skinned young woman thought, there was...nothing.
Sweat was rolling down her body in the heat and panic of trying not to be late for once in her God-d**ned life and her violet shirt clung to her form like a second skin. Slipping in, hopefully undetected she snuck up to the bar and started to prep her work area, every now and then glancing towards the voices coming from the hallway. Sam and that new girl, the one who kinda reminded her of Sook. In the back of her mind she hoped no one would notice the shiners and welts adoring her dark features.

"I wear a large." Haylee replied. Sam hated to ask, but it was a necessity to the job. Not like you can go to a store and pick up a Merlotte's t-shirt. He fumbled with the pile and grabbed out 4 and handed them to her. "Take these, change into one and keep the rest for spares." he grinned, "You might end up needing 'em"
Sam caught a whiff of Tara Thornton's scent. What was she doing in so early?he thought to himself as he tried to focus on Haylee and her first day. He'd get to his wayward barmaid later. He focussed back onto the pretty blonde. "Hopefully Sookie or our other waitress Arlene will be in soon and they can help you out. But in the meantime we'll just cover the basics." he nodded his head towards the main floor area. "We'll go back out front and go through a few things before you start."
Sam walked out and as sure as he could smell her, there was Tara. He refrained from saying anything that would draw attention to her behaviour. He held his tongue as his keen eyes could make out marks and bruising on her face. Now he was furious, but he kept himself in check. No point in dragging it all up with a new employee right next to him. "Tara, could you wait in my office please. I need to speak to you about something." Sam said his voice tense.
Turning his attention back to Haylee, Sam felt embarassed by Tara's appearance. He wanted to give Haylee a good, fun first day. She didn't need to see Tara in the state she was in. In fact, no-one did. He felt his body stiffen as he became more and more uncomfortable with being placed in this situation. "Okay" he coughed lightly, trying to defer the attention. "Let's get out there and go through a few things." he put his arm out in front of him to encourage Haylee to go in front of him. He looked over his head and scowled at Tara before following Haylee inside.

Kyle looked over at the door when it opened, admitting Tara's entrance. He winced as he saw the bruises that she still had...wait...shouldn't they have healed over more by now... Was she being hit on again, and not in the flirty way? He pursed his lips and kept his gob shut. It wasn't his place and he didn't want to stick his nose in...much. "Morning Tara" He said, settling for a polite greeting.

"Thanks!" Haylee chirped and gave the idea of having a "spare set" some thought. In a sense at least, It seemed a little TO much. Though, you never really knew about "accidents" or mishaps and then, such an idea seemed thoughtful. While she didn't get a questioned answered, maybe the sellotape mystery would be solved later. "Sookie, as in Stackhouse?" What would be the odds, of running into her again? It seemed a little freaky, not the bad kind; mind you but interesting. Haylee just might cave into the "no coincidences" aspect that Sookie mentioned. Then again, she didn't have any confirmation. Yet began to wonder about Arlene, the type of person she was. Hopefully someone that she could get along with, nothing was a downer then someone you couldn't stand.
"Ok, Sam." Haylee confirmed to go through the front and was excited about learning the basics. It should be a piece of cake. As her mother had made it look easy. She really didn't need to assume until being thrown out there to swim, but she could only think about one thing. Not letting anyone down, like Sam for one. Before she knew it, her sights were set upon a woman, one that was probably only a little bit older then herself. Haylee would've conducted a "nice to meet you" only to hear the sound of Sam's voice, really tense. Something that was new to her, as she had only seen a relaxed and nice side of him. Despite Tara's supposed age, Haylee couldn't get over on what could've happened to her face.
No one deserved to be that beaten up. Awkwardly, a few fingertips began to dangle in a "Hello-goodbye" look. One, that she tried to give to Tara. She hoped that everything would be alright and glanced toward her spare shirts. First, she had to learn something before she was able to wear at least one. While giving the inside of Merlotte's a huge look over, she noticed someone sitting at the bar. Who know how long the person had to wait, frankly it wasn't fun to wait. Or so, that's how she felt on some occasions and decided to speak. "Hopefully, we'll be right with you." No harm in being polite, giving some kind of notice; right?

Sam walked out front with Haylee and escorted her into the main seating area and gestured her to take a seat. She said a polite hello to a young man at the bar. He was a regular here, a polite guy by Sam's recollection.
Sam remembered Haylee's mention of Sookie. "You know her" he began. "Sookie I mean." Bon Temps was the very definition of small world. Everyone knew everyone and everyone was in everyone's business. Wether they wanted it or not.

"Speak to me about s*it" Tara mumbled under her breath as she looked at Kyle after he greeted her but it was obvious who it was directed toward. Throwing down the rag she was using to clean the bar up she stalked off to Sam's Office and shot him the best glare she could. Full lips pulled into a tight line as she stomped her way to get a lecture she really didn't have the constitution or the time for. Her response to Haylee was a curt palm in her direction, too upset with the entire situation to really think about greeting others to the morning sun. Coming into his office she slammed the door behind her and sat down on one of the chairs across from the desk. Her eyes welled with tears and she angrily wiped them away. Kicking the desk a bit she cursed "f**k!"

Wow, Tara was not having a good morning. He wanted to help the girl, but he didn't really even know her. His attempts would probably come off as being nosey of something, and then she would take offence...and probably hit him or something. He watched with worried eyes as she walked away, more tightly strung than usual.
"Take you time" He said in response to the voice that said they would be right with me. It wasn't like he was starving or anything, so there was not rush.

Once Hayle managed to settle within her seat, her forehead nodded toward Sam's question. That mainly noted on "knowing" Sookie, which made her pause. Technically, she didn't know to much about her at all. Frankly, what she wanted to say was cliche. However, it couldn't be helped as she thought about Sookie. On the few times that Haylee had met her, it was like she had known her for a very long time. "I hope this doesn't make me sound, well.. weird-" She began and directed her gaze toward her fingertips. Whom busied themselves by drumming a tad, finishing up her statement from trailing off.
"Because, I've only met her a couple of times. N' it feels like I know her pretty well." Once that was said, she remembered the stranger's comment, to a recent statement of her's. That essentially, it was "ok." In the sense of a "Take your time" direct way. That was good, because she didn't know how long everything would take to go over. Much less if she'd have any questions to arise and the time it would take to answer anything. She couldn't wait to get started!
This was her fresh start.

"Haylee, will you be okay out here for a bit while I go speak to Tara?" Sam put his hands on his hips, he didn't mean to be rude. But he had to speak to Tara. He was worried about her, she'd likely be as obstinate as she always is. But he had to try.
"I won't be too long. If anyone comes in, just give me a holler okay?"
