Name: Jaeden McAlistar
Age: 26
Member Group: Bear Shape-Shifter
Character History:
Jaeden was born in Ireland of all places, specifically Dublin. While he was growing up, his family was fairly poor and they thrived off of tourist sites. His father died of an illness and his mother packed them up when he was only three and moved herself and her son to the States. They were still poor, but they made their way down to the south, Bon Temps, specifically. For the past 20 years, since they spent three years in New York, Jaeden and his mother have been living in Bon Temps.
While they were in the states, they visited a zoo, where Jaeden saw his first Sun Bear in a cage. He thought it was magnificent because it had lots of fur, so it could survive Ireland's climate and it was large, so not many other creatures messed with them. When his shape-shifting abilities began to grow and increase, he took on the form of his favorite bear, the Sun Bear.
While Jaeden has attended a community college and he helps manage the inn at Bon Temps, he has since moved out of his mother's house and lives on his own, making the best of his life. His mother always reminds him that their life now is much better than their life in Ireland.
Personality:
While Jaeden is respectful to the United States and admires them for admitting him into their country and giving him a second chance, he still respects Ireland by not disposing of his Irish accent. Although it is not heavy, it's slightly noticeable. Jaeden is a kind man who accepts nearly anyone and understands what it is like to be viewed as scum, so he tries not to view anyone like that. When the vampires came out of the coffin, he decided to welcome them, but not tell them of his secret. While he is not friends with the vampires, he understands that they are creatures of the night, just as he is.
His temper can be crossed though, and crossing Jaeden's temper is as consequential as crossing a bear's territory, it runs in his blood. Though he can keep his temper down and he does this by not getting drunk, but only tipsy or warm. He loves his work and he enjoys the calm town of Bon Temps.
Future Plans for your character
I really have no specific future plans for Jaeden, just that I would like for him to get to know people in the town and come out of his shell about his bear form.
Have you read the books Currently on the third.

A bead of sweat rolled down the Irish man until it became tangled in his beard. Tonight was one of those nights, one of the full moon nights, the night he had to be careful. While some shape-shifters chose animals that humans welcomed, he just had to pick the animal they seemed to fear. Yet every paper that read BEAR SIGHTING seemed to only receive a glance by the common public as they did not worry too much about bears. Make yourself look bigger than the bear, make a bunch of noises, inform the bear that you are, in fact, the biggest and most fierce of the forrest, everyone would say, but being the bear, it seemed a little humorous to see everyone leap up in wild attempts to shoo him away.
Grabbing a soda from his refridgerator, Jaeden opened it and took a few sips before grabbing his keys off of the counter. It was time to make his way out to the woods and begin his full moon ritual. It was not the funnest thing, but it was inevitable, and it was better than being a werewolf. Jumping into the car, he turned it on and turned up the Gaelic music that sounded from his cheap stereo system. Singing along, he pulled out into the street and began to drive, keeping his throat moist with constant sips of his soda.
When the turn off for where he typically parked his car appeared, he clicked on his clicker and made his way down. In his favorite parking spot, there was a sheriff car. "Well grreat, seems we got a wee bit of a problem" he whispered to himself before getting out of the car.
"Evening, Bud," Jaeden called, crawling out of his vehicle. In order to make it seem like he was not just out for a run, he had a few trash bags with him. "Out makin' meself a new centerpiece to go ova my fireplace. What calls you from your duties?"
"A centerpiece, huh?" Bud huffed. "Why don't you go buy one?"
"Then it wouldn't worth callin' me own," Jaeden responded. He was not in the mood.
"Well watchout, Jaeden, there's been a few bear spottings, make sure if you see one, you-"
"Act biggar, yeah, I know the routine."
"Well I was just gonna say 'don't piss it off', but that works too," Bud shrugged. "You have a good night, Jaeden."
"I will, Bud. Don't work too hard," Jaeden called as he made his way into the woods. Well, at least Bud was not going to do something dumb like make his shirt look like a cape and try to look fierce by imitating Dracula like most people did. What a shame, it would have been a Kodak moment.
