Her car couldn't go fast enough, she cursed underneath her breath as she raced to his place. Her slender hands were clenched so hard against the steering wheel that her knuckles were turning ghost white.
The small digital clock loomed with the red numbers 2:35am, she hated to bother him so early but her heart was pounding so hard. Seeing him again. Even from a club-full of people away, she was frozen in fear. Her car had squealed into the dusty parking lot and she cursed underneath her breath.
It was a good thing nobody was around but him, and she could only imagine the glares she would get from making that kind of ruckus. She reached over, turning the car off in a rush as she struggled to get out as fast as could.
Bam! Irony!
Oh how it hit her, maybe it was her fault, maybe her emotions had done it because it sure felt like it. The sky had opened up and the rain came showering down - in droves! How the hell did this happen?
She was shaking, and she was only a few feet away from the trailer. It wasn't like she was wearing much - only that red dress. The rain was cold, and it stun her bare skin as she trudged across the now muddy-path way to his trailer.
She knocked. Quietly at first, then three more times, more in a panic as she kept looking behind her. She thought maybe a spell.. a quick spell to throw him off the trail. She had no choice, but she would have to get inside first.

Sam was winding down after a really long day at work. He'd already kicked off his cowboy boots and pulled off his socks and jeans. The rain started to pour and patter against the windows. It felt unusual as it had been a great day in general, weather included.
His heart jumped when he heard knocking at his door. "who the hell's there at this time in the mornin'" he muttered under his breath. He slowly walked to the door, silently listening out for a voice or something. He caught whiff of a scent, very faint but potent scent. Potent to Sam at least. No, why would she be here so late and in this crappy weather.
"Hello." he called out through the wooden door. "Who's there?" he asked just to be sure he wasn't delusional.

"Hello. Who's there?"
The water was coming down stronger, soaking her wet to the bone. How long until he was getting past Summer and tracking her back here? Derek was ruthless, and he would track her until he found her.
She didn't even want to think what would happen if Derek saw her with Sam.
"Sam, its me - just open the door!"

Sam could make out the tension in her voice. Something was definetly not right. He turned the locks on the door and opened it to a very wet and scared looking Brandy. "What the hell?" Sam was stunned and ushered her inside. "Come in, I'll get you a towel." he closed the door behind her and sprinted off towards the bathroom and grabbed a big soft white beach towel and came back to the living area, wrapping it around her gently. "What is going on Brandy?" Sam asked deeply concerned for his...what was she? Girlfriend? It didn't matter, she was someone in need of help. That much was obvious.
"What are you doing all the way out here?" he asked her gently, guiding her towards his sofa.

"What the hell?"
What the hell was right. He ushered her inside and had went to the bathroom to grab a towel, but when he was to come back to give it to her she was already frantically looking around his kitchen. Opening drawers, cupboards, everything she could find -
Which, in itself, was completely out of character for her. Normally she would of least asked but she just wasn't even thinking at that moment.
"Quick, candle's - I need candles. Do you have any candles? White would be best but I need them quickly!"
He was able to get the towel around her, but she seemed to not notice. Not only that, but she was not interested in even sitting on the couch with him. No, there was only one thing she was concerned with - -
And that was getting him off her trail.
"A rope, a string - even a shoelace will do. And I need some salt. You have salt right? Please Sam, we don't have much time. I need to do this spell now"
The urgency in her voice was evident, so was the panicked expression on her pretty face. There was very little time.

Sam watched as Brandy scuttled about his trailer still in a panic. She was muttering about candles and rope. He put his hands on her shoulders firmly. Just enough pressure to get her to slow down. "Just hold up, please." Sam looked down into her deep brown eyes and all he saw looking back was fear. Fear of what?
"Just sit down and talk to me. I'll help you with whatever I can, but first you need to calm down and take a deep breath." he looked at her, his bright blue eyes showing concern for her. "Please." he softly finished. Giving her a chance to take it easy.

She jumped, actually jumped when he put his hands on her shoulders. She was like a scared little mouse, trying to bait a cat trap as fast as she could.
"Just hold up, please."
"But Sam! You don't understand - we can't waste any time!"
She was flustered, and despite the warmth of the towel - which was now damp from her wet dress and hair - she was shaking like a leaf.
"Just sit down and talk to me. I'll help you with whatever I can, but first you need to calm down and take a deep breath."
She couldn't even look at him, all she did was tremble as she looked over her shoulder as if expecting Derek to shoot through the front door.
"Please."
"Sam. I can't slow down, not until I do this spell. I have to throw him off my trail. I will explain later, just.. help me with this please? Candles, rope, salt. I need it quickly."
Her eyes were pleading with him, she knew Sam was concerned but if Derek was getting closer - he would be here soon and she didn't want that. Not here. Not Sam. She would never forgive herself.

Sam grew more and more worried when she jumped at his touch. He knew it wasn't him, it was something else that was bothering her. He was feeling the anger inside him swell, "if anybody has hurt you" he trailed off trying not to let it overtake him. He wanted Brandy calm, not afraid of him as well.
"Sam. I can't slow down, not until I do this spell. I have to throw him off my trail. I will explain later, just.. help me with this please? Candles, rope, salt. I need it quickly." she looked up at him, her eyes begging him to help her.
"Brandy, I will get you whatever you need. If you just tell me what the hell is going on to get you so rattled" Sam made his way into his kitchen and grabbed some salt. Then into a closet that was full of tools and other assorted DIY type stuff. He rummaged around and found three white candles. He always kept them handy incase of a power out. He looked around and grabbed one of his sneakers and pulled out the lace. He looked at Brandy with a look of utter seriousness.
"Now." He began, "Will you tell me what is going on?"

"Brandy, I will get you whatever you need. If you just tell me what the hell is going on to get you so rattled"
She had been busy clearing off his coffee table, picking up a pair of matches she saw and guessed they were for candles anyway. Her mind was far too focused on the task at hand.
He placed the objects in front of her and she took them eagerly. First she formed a triangle with the three candles, then in the middle she put the string.
"Now.Will you tell me what is going on?"
"His name is Derek"
She began to pour the salt in a circle around the candles, and then she sprinkled the salt in a staggered line over the shoelace.
"Back in my hometown he became my boyfriend. He was a witch like me, more powerful than me and as his power grew so did his need for the darkness. He let it consume him, and he wanted it to consume me. His ultimate goal was for us to be the most powerful witches our town had ever seen."
Brandy paused, then lit the candles.
"Elsi na ik tes hoeui hu puel drak nemis alse oaut resi."
At that moment the flames flickered out and Brandy took a staggered breath. Her body relaxed and she leaned back, finally able to make eye contact with Sam.
"But his darkness, I didn't want to be with him. I stood no chance against him so I ran. I came here, I had people call me BB so that my name wouldn't float around town and get back to him. I thought I was safe, but somehow he has found me. And not only is he no longer a witch, he is a motherfu*ckin vampire. He will stop at nothing to be with me, and if he finds out about you - your in danger as well'
Brandy hated to say it.. she hated everything about it. Quietly she was trying to clean up the salt.
"I think it might be best if I leave Bon Temps. I just.. I don't know why I came here. I wanted to warn you I guess, but its not safe for you if I stay here. That spell I just did, it will throw him off my trail. He won't track me back to this trailer. But I have to leave Bon Temp's tonight"

Sam watched as she took all the items and placed them in a particular fashion on his coffee table. As she did this she began to explain her problem. Her ex was somehow in town and looking for her. He was bad news and even moreso now he was made into a Vampire. Sam's brows furrowed as she told him everything. He was overwhelmed with the need to protect her and protect her he would.
"I think it might be best if I leave Bon Temps. I just.. I don't know why I came here. I wanted to warn you I guess, but its not safe for you if I stay here. That spell I just did, it will throw him off my trailer. But I have to leave Bon Temp's tonight"
Sam's eyes widened. "Leave? No, you can't leave." He knelt down beside her and turned her face to his. "You're safe here, with me. Even against a Vampire. I will not let him hurt you." Sam was suddenly filled with fear himself, fear of a different sort. He finally found a woman he would be proud to call his girl and because of an ex, she could be out of his life forever.

"Leave? No, you can't leave."
She looked at him as he bent down, kneeling beside her. Her heart was sinking then, and her eyes were welting up in tears. She could hear the sadness in his voice, and his concern -
"You're safe here, with me. Even against a Vampire. I will not let him hurt you."
"Sam.. you can't. I know you would like to but you can't, he is immortal now Sam - powerful. Even me, the most I can do is distract him long enough to keep on running. I can't get you involved"
She had brought her right hand to the side of his face, stroking his cheek upward with the underside of her thumb. With a sigh she stood up, the towel fell against the couch and she made her way over to the window. It was still raining.
"I would tell you where I am going but, on the slight chance he does track you down I don't want him knowing where I am going to. Don't worry about me Sam, I'm a good runner. "
Well, she could run as far as her car would let her. Maybe she could grow strong enough to eventually overpower him. It was worth a try at least.

"Sam.. you can't. I know you would like to but you can't, he is immortal now Sam - powerful. Even me, the most I can do is distract him long enough to keep on running. I can't get you involved" her words pained him, but only because he wasn't as powerless as she thought he was and he couldn't tell her. Could he?
He felt her hand on his cheek and he closed his eyes at her touch. He began to protest but before he could get the words out, she stood up and walked over towards the window. The towel bundled up at Sam's feet. He looked up at her, she had her back to him and she spoke again.
"I would tell you where I am going but, on the slight chance he does track you down I don't want him knowing where I am going to. Don't worry about me Sam, I'm a good runner. " the pain in Brandy's voice was tearing him up inside. He had to do something.
Sam stood up and walked slowly towards her. He wished he could just hold her, make it all go away. But life was never that simple. Sam was unable to stop himself and he slipped his arms around her waist and pulled him close to her. Leaning his head gently against the back of hers. Her wet hair clinging to his face and neck. "I won't let him hurt you. I promise you. He can't get in here without an invitation." he sighed and held her tightly unable to let her go. "You have to trust me on this."

Warm arms. A warm body. Brandy's eyes had widened as she felt his body against her's. Gods.. did he have any idea how good that felt? Her hand had rested against his arm and she lowered her head, resting her forehead against the glass window.
"I won't let him hurt you. I promise you. He can't get in here without an invitation."
Oh. Brandy seemed to relax in his arms. She.. she didn't know that rule. Was it really true? She was safe here? As he spoke, he seemed to hold her tightly. Like he wouldn't even let her go to the door, if she was so keen to protest.
"You have to trust me on this."
"I trust you more than anything. You have been nothing but honest with me since Day One Sam.. you have been patient, put up with my rambling and my constant flirting and I'm not even your girlfriend. In the years I have been alive.. I've never met anyone like you Sam..."
She took a soft breath and let a sigh slip passed her lips.
"I should of told you sooner. And for that I am sorry. But I can't exactly stay here forever. I am going to have to stop running.. "

Brandy slowly relaxed in his arms. That was something at least. He felt her hand on his arm and it sent a small tingle up his arm. She smelt so good and under better circumstances, this scenario would have a different tone to it.
"I trust you more than anything. You have been nothing but honest with me since Day One Sam.. you have been patient, put up with my rambling and my constant flirting and I'm not even your girlfriend. In the years I have been alive.. I've never met anyone like you Sam..." That was strangely close to the truth and she never even realised it. Sam began to feel guilty again for keeping it from her. He wanted to tell her, explain it all to her. But this wasn't the time. It wasn't fair to lay this on her, on top of everything else she was going through.
"You know I can say the same about you." he whispered softly. He meant it too. Brandy had single handedly turned his entire world upside down in a matter of days. But he didn't regret one moment of it.
"I should of told you sooner. And for that I am sorry. But I can't exactly stay here forever. I am going to have to stop running.. " "You can stay here as long as you need too. I'm not gonna hold you here against your will. But if you feel safe here, you're welcome to stay." Sam blurted it all out. His mouth was moving faster than his brain was. But he really meant it. He leant down and lightly kissed the top of her head, his lips getting wet from her hair.

"You can stay here as long as you need too. I'm not gonna hold you here against your will. But if you feel safe here, you're welcome to stay."
".. how about for the rest of our lives?"
She felt his lips against the top of her head, and she had manevered her way out of his hold so that she was facing him - instead of having her back to him.
She looked at him, into his eyes, and sighed as her fingertips reached for his lips. They were wet from her hair, and outside a flash of lightning had lit up the whole trailer. Her heart was racing being so close to him and in his arms.
".. I want to kiss you. And I know it will lead to other things. But right now I don't care. I know its a horrible thing to say, but I.."
She really didn't care. And she took her fingers away from his lips, just resting her head against his chest. She could smell him, his shirt - it was comforting. Gods alive how she hated herself at this moment.
".. I really want you Sam.."
