((I'll take that as my invitation to join. xD))
As if on cue, Lafayette strutted through the door. Today, he was wearing a sea green tanktop that showed off his arm muscles, a black printed hat, silver necklaces, pants and his usual boots. He was surprised to see Kyle sitting at the booth this early. Why's he here? Lafayette asked himself mentally as he approached the bar. "Mornin' Sam, mornin' Kyle." He said quite politely while walking behind the bar to make himself a cup of 'coffee.' While the coffee was brewing, Lafayette turned back around to face the counter. He leaned against it and looked at Kyle. "Why ain't you sleeping, boyfriend?" He asked curiously.

Kyle looked toward the door when it made a noise, signalling Lafayette's entrance. He gave the other man a smile as he watch him put the coffee on. Oh how a cup of that would be nice too. The effects of his earlier coffee were still working, but Kyle liked coffee. He'd wait and see if he was offered, didn't wanna intrude or be rude.
"I'm talking to Sam about a job. Looks like I'l be in the kitchen with you, preparing the food and...stuff. You're supposed to 'show me the ropes'." He said, telling Lafayette what's what.

Lafayette raised his eyebrows and turned to Sam. "Really?" he asked unbelieving but also happy. He heard the coffee machine go off and went to go get it. "Want some?" he asked both of them while pouring one into a mug. He put the coffee pot down but left it on just in case they did. "So, when you's gonna start?" He asked Kyle again, pouring liquor into his coffee instead of sugar, milk or half and half. Lafayette had picked this up from his Aunt Lettie Mae while she was still an alcoholic...or she picked it up from him, he didn't remember.

"Ahm, well, Sam say's I can start anytime until school starts up again, then it'll be late afternoon / evenings. And yeah, I'll take some coffee, but I can get sure" He said, standing up to go around the bar and get the coffee himself. He didn't wanna put Lafayette out or anything. "By the way, just tell me when your free to give me the 'training'. I have all the time in the world"

Lafayette nodded. "Aight, I is gonna go clean up the kitchen. After you's done with ya coffee, I's gonna teach you." He said, then drank some more of his liquor-fied coffee. "Aight?" He asked, leaning up from the counter to get the kitchen ready for this training session he was apparently doing. "I's got nothing better to do." He added, with a look at Sam asking "So why's I always here this motherf**king early?"

"So why's I always here this motherf**king early?"
Sam leant his head back towards Lafayette. "Because, Lafayette. You're the only reliable cook we got. Or would you like me to call Terry and have him take another episode with stress?" Sam said it with a smile, but it was the truth. Terry's PTSD made him tempramental and a little out of whack. He was a good man, a friend but you didn't want to burden him with too much responsibility.
Sam noticed a whiff of alcohol coming from Lafayette's coffee and gave him a stern look. "Would you please not do that? You wanna get this place closed down?"

Kyle was a little relieved that Sam had thought of that. He didn't mind Terry, but the man already had enough on his plate without having to teach Kyle his duties. "Aw come one Sam. It's only Irish Coffee" He said with a smile. To make anything irish, just add alcohol it seems. Might as well try to get on Lafayette's good side now, since he'll be with him for the next good hour or so.

Lafayette gave Sam one of his typical looks and put the liquor down. "Aight, aight. I is going to the kitchen." He said, drinking the last of his coffee and putting it down. "You's come in when you's done." He said to Kyle and with that, walked from behind the bar and into the kitchen, where he put on his apron and looked around. How's I gonna teach Kyle what goes on all up in this motherf**ker? Lafayette asked himself mentally then laughed to himself while walking over to the radio and then he turned it on.

Sam threw Kyle a sour look, "that it may be, but you're still underage. I'm a fair man, but I won't have illegal drinking in my bar. You understand?" Sam didn't give his words a harsh tone, just enough seriousness to let Kyle understand the severity of the situation before turning to Lafayette.
"and you should know better" Sam didn't enjoy coming down hard on any of his employees, as he liked to think of them as his friends too. But sometimes, some of them tested his good nature. "Thank you Lafayette." Sam conceded as he watched his short order cook sway into the kitchen.
Turning back to Kyle. "If you're ready to start, just head on through and Lafayette will show you what's what. If you've got any questions, don't hesitate to come ask me, kay?" Sam's smile returned.

"Don't worry Sam, I'm not too fond of alcohol anywawy. It messes with my m...just messes with me" He said, stopping himself from saying 'magic'. Maybe in time he would come out to Sam, but not today. No offence to the man but Kyle didn't know him yet.
He stood and went around the bar and poured himself a cup of coffee, adding a sthingyful of sugar and some milk to it before taking a sip of it. Whew, still hot. He blew on it once and set it back down on the bar. Once he's done with this he'll go in and start with Lafayette.
