Once again disobeying her maker, Bill Compton's, rules, Jessica Hamby was headed toward the Graveyard that separated Bill and his human, Sookie's homes. The silver blackberry in her hand vibrated and she lifted it up to see no one other then Bill calling. Screw you, she thought as she clicked the red button, thus ignoring his call. She knew once she returned back to Bill's home, he would be furious. "Oh well," Jess said to herself, not thinking twice about her surroundings, "he has other things to worry about."
She saw the fountain that marked the place where Sookie had almost been killed by Arlene's fourth and latest husband, Rene. Sookie had told her this story one night when the two were out shopping. Bill had politely declined the invitation, but promised he'd be there if they needed him. Thinking back to this, Jess didn't notice the sudden rustling of leaves and small grunt in the woods near the graveyard. Out of her bag came a bottle of A negative Tru Blood, the synthetic blood created by a Japanese scientist for the vampires when they came out of the coffin. She unscrewed the lid and put the bottle to her lips, drinking greedily. She felt her phone vibrate again, but this time it wasn't Bill.

Feeling like a change of location, Sookie figured she would visit Bill's tonight. They spent too much time at her house. And Bill was always worrying about Jessica since he was forced to make her after a little incident where he killed another vampire. But as Sookie always thought, everything happens for a reason. Jessica wasn't so bad at all. She was rather funny. A bit impulsive, but what could one expect from someone who had lived such a sheltered life and was now living the life of what some would call a King. But in her case, Queen.
Given the fact that Sookie had vampire blood in her system, after a few times she needed the saving, she felt confident she could make it to the Compton Estate safely. If she was faced with any danger in the short distance, Bill would certainly heed her call. So, she walked, with a bit of a hop in her step, through the darkness. But, she heard something. The sound of a bottle opening and even the faintest sound of a vibrating cell phone. As she walked, she could see someone there, but couldn't make out the face. No brain waves, she thought, must be a vampire. "Hello there, is someone out there?" She asked nervously yet with confidence. Maybe this walk wasn't such a good idea.

Jess was saying goodbye to Hoyt, planning another date of course, when she heard a voice. Pressing the red end button, she listened. The voice belonged to none other then Sookie. Jessica smiled, she had grown to like Sookie and hoped they could become good friends. Turning around, she began to walk towards Sookie. "Hey!" She called out to her while putting her phone back into her bag as well as the Tru Blood.

Sookie heard a reply, which first thing was a good sign. As there wasnt anyone there to hid and kill her tonight. "Jessica?" She said questioningly since the voice did sound alot like hers, with that excited and southern sound. With the excited happening alot lately as she became a bit more distant from obeying Bill. Walking closer, she saw the fiery red hair and was assured it was Jessica. Or Arlene. But what would Arlene be doing here? So, through logic, found it was Jessica. "Oh good, its you! I started to think crazy things" Sookie said with a laugh. "Has Bill gone and let you out tonight?" She asked wonderingly, considering Bill felt her learning was of the utmost importance.

Jessica laughed with Sookie then looked down, her laughter stopping. "Oh well, no I wouldn't say that." She said then paused. "I snuck out," she finally admitted. "But I wasn't going to go anywhere other then here." She said, hoping this would reassure Sookie.

Sookie smiled so big and almost burst into a laughter so loud Bill would have for sure known where she was, so she decided to tone it down. "Jessica!" She said through a giggle. "Bill is just too strict sometimes. I mean. You can go out alone can't you?" She asked, sorta knowing the answer but wanted to hear it from the source instead. Jessica was a new vampire, but it seemed she knew her cravings under control, or maybe it was the strict nature of Bill to force feed her True Blood of every type to make sure she knows that mainstreaming is the only way to go.

Stunned at Sookie's reaction, Jessica did not speak for a few minutes. After Sookie calmed down, Jess smiled. "Yeah I can, but he is so, so, I don't know the word for it. I wouldn't say over-protective but something very close to it. It must be a older male vampire thing, or something." She shrugged and looked Sookie over. "Other then that, how was your night at the bar? I mean, did anything else happen out of the ordinary in this bum-f**k town?" She paused then asked, "We are in a town right?"

Sookie couldn't help but laugh again. Jessica was just a teenager who had gained freedom for the first time, to the highest extent, after being almost held captive her whole life. So, to Sookie, it was fun to watch her grow. Kinda brought her back to her teenage days, in a minor way. "Bill is very old fashioned, so he takes that seriously. His making sure you mainstream properly. But he should allow you to have fun every now and then!" She said as she picked up a flower from the ground. "The bar was same as usual. Some new vampires are starting to come around. I take it our little Merlotte's is gaining a name for itself. Maybe Bill with let you come out there one night!" She said, thinking it would be good. "Hoyt is always there!" She said with a sly smile. She laughed again. It seemed that Jessica was just going in circles with her thoughts, "It is a town, little Bon Temps. No Fangtasia here, but its the best we got." She spoke softly. "Bill will kill me for saying this, but maybe we can take a trip to Fangtasia sometime. We gotta meet up with Eric..." she said his name with such disdain, "soon."

Just from her expression, Jessica knew Sookie was excited to watch her grow with each passing night, and possibly day. "So, basically, since he is my maker, I have to do everything he says. But he never lets me have any fun!" She complained and said mostly to herself. There was the natural hint of whine in her voice. But then her vampire impulses perked up instantly at Sookie's mention of Fangtasia, where Bill had taken her when she was only a night old. "For real, Sookie? You mean the cute, blonde one?" She asked, eagerness replacing the whine in her voice. She remembered the blonde one, Eric?, very well. Although he'd been rough with her, she still thought he was cute. Well...back then, at least.

Jessica seemed to just blurt out her thoughts, something if she did with Bill would cause trouble. She did tend to speak her mind, something Sookie did often too, which had caused more problems than not. "Bill is just trying to make sure he teaches you right. I mean, you know, he feels bad for having done it, and wants you to mainstream into society without problem!" She said in defense of Bill's antics. Hearing Jessica's response to Fangtasia, she knew she had opened up Pandoras box. "Well, yeah, for real. Ill talk to Bill. I think he might rather have you with us than alone." She spoke a bit too soon, yes, but hell, what would be the problem with it. Sookie had already taken Jessica out and they had caused drama. What could a little bit more do.

Jessica admitted defeat and shrugged her shoulders. "Yeah, I know he feels like s*it and all." She began, "Okay, I'll try and mainstream without problem." She looked up and then went onto Fangtasia. "Well, you know, if he's with us, I'm sure he'll or we'll have no problem. Umm, right?" She still did not get how her maker worked, if you will, but she knew, well hoped, he couldn't say no to going to Fangtasia if he was present.

Sookie was picking the petals off the flower she had picked up. In her mind playing the he loves me, he loves me not game. "Bill won't have a problem. As long as you don't run off!" She giggled alittle picturing Jessica going crazy in Fangtasia, dancing, biting. "So, how are you and Hoyt?" Sookie asked with a raised eyebrow. She had known Hoyt her whole life, since he was her brothers best friend. She did have to admit that it was a bit odd of him to be seeing a vampire. But Jessica was different. If she weren't a vampire, she would have been someone he would have liked. Wholesome, sweet. But she was a vampire with those tendencies as well as wholesome and sweet, just in a bit of a different way.

Jessica laughed, "Me? Running off in a vampire bar? Never" she said through her laughs. "Oh, Hoyt and I are good. He is off visiting a relative in Oregon with Ma-his mother." She smiled and laughed again as she took the silver blackberry out of her bag. "These things are pretty amazing! It's my first one!" She then got serious. "So, what does Eric, right?, want with you?" She asked.

Jessica seemed to light up, as best a vampire could, when talking about Hoyt. "Yeah, his mother. She has always kept him on a tight leash. He rarely gets out much!" Sookie replied thinking of the time him and Jason were out late and Hoyt's mom freaked out, as if the world were ending. Sookie looked at the phone Jessica pulled out. "They are pretty neat. I just have a simple looking one. They take alot of time to learn!" Sookie was not very technologic, though she did try and make an effort to learn more. "Thats a good question Jessica. What does Eric want with me?" She looked down, thinking of how much she loathed Eric's pompous nature. "Id say something along the lines of using his power over Bill to use me to figure out who stole a flipping dollar from Fangtasia." She said through gritted teeth.

Sookie's gritted teeth made Jessica chuckle a little bit. "Dollar, as in money? Wow, that sounds so cool!" Jessica said and then to clarify and not cause Sookie to get confused, she continued "My parents never gave me money. I guess they thought I'd buy drugs and random horrible stuff like that, you know?" She could feel tears of blood, the kind of tears vampires cried welling up in her eyes. "f**k, I think it's getting to be light out." She said, averting her eyes from Sookie's and looked up at the now lightening sky.
