Name: Delaney Harris
Age: 26
Member Group:(if you choose human, please say what kind of human...or a shifter, what kind of shifter, etc.) were cheetah
Character History: Delaney grew up in a sheltered type lifestyle with her mother, her older brother Vaughn, and her younger sister Rylan.
Her entire life she lived in the shadow of her brother, who was to take over leadership of the pack (which was fine with her). She would much rather study languages and literature than the politics of being a were cheetah.
Delaney had attended an ivy league school like her brother and majored in Anthropology. She had always been fascinated with other cultures was fluent in Italian, German and Latin. She knew the works of Shakespeare like the back of her hand and that is why Delaney rarely changed when the full moon came out.
She felt like she lost all control of herself and so she spent most of the full moon nights cleaning up the messes her sister got into. Delaney had been able to avoid many issues involving the packs population because Vaughn had made sure to distract any suitors who she had no intention of being with. Until one night when her father came to visit. Delaney's father said that she would need to start breeding right away because of the upcoming battle.
After the revelation of vampires, the were's and shifters of her community began to panic. They were sure that they would eventually be discovered because as society had proven, guilty by association or rather suspicion. The were's and shifters were going to eradicate the problem before they were found out. Her father said that Vaughn was going to lead them into this battle against the vampires and that she needed to do her part as well. She was beautiful and pure blood were ran in her veins, it was only natural to start raising a little pack of her very own. He had several virile young males who were ready to start breeding with her she just had to pick one.
Delaney had no intention of becoming a door mat that was used whenever the need to fill in gaps of their pack arose. Hearing that her brother was leading the charge on this she decided to stand up for the first time in her life. Delaney demanded that he put aside this notion that they should take on the vampires and to let her leave the pack if they wouldn't because she wasn't about to throw away her freedom for a senseless act of violence. To her surprise, Vaughn had been against this from the very beginning and was planning an escape.
On the night of the attack Vaughn took their life savings and decided to relocate them to a southern part of Louisiana. When they were half way there her brother got word that they had sent messengers that were looking for them to bring them back. In a moment of desperation he said they should separate and meet in Shreveport at the Living Dead hotel.
Being a were who never changed unless provoked at the full moon, it was harder for Delaney to travel long distances. On her way to Shreveport she was worn thin and collapsed. She has been passed out for the past three nights.
Personality: She is thoughtful, reserved and very book smart. Delaney would prefer reading in the library rather than the hands on approach as most of her kind
Future Plans for your character She plans to help her brother Vaughn start a new pack in Shreveport and learn more about her were culture through other were's that she meets locally.
Have you read the books I have read all the books
Sample RP The night air was whipping against her face as she raced through the woods. Delaney had been going all out since she had parted ways with Vaughn and Rylan. She vaguely remembered the lectures her older brother had given her about being proud to be a were cheetah and to embrace her gifts. Delaney secretly wished she had spent a little more time shifting and roaming around the grounds of their old house. She had crammed for finals and pulled all nighters at the library doing research on ancient civilizations but those gruesome times seemed like a happier place.
Delaney paused in an attempt to get her bearings on which direction to go next. The night sky was over cast and it would be no help. Her night bag hung from her waist and now seemed as good as any to stop and figure out where she was so she could try to get in touch with Vaughn and Rylan. They were probably both at the hotel right now in wonderful soft beds...Delaney had decided to sleep for a year when she got there. To tell the truth she had always been a bit jealous of Rylan's free nature and her desire to stay in cheetah form for as long as possible.
Picture this, imagine you are 18 years old and your younger sister has shifted for the first time on a full moon and has decided to not stay on the property but instead roam around suburban Riverside, CA. Needless to say Delaney was better prepared for the news channels the next time Rylan "escaped".
As Delaney began to shift back to her human form she could practically feel her energy drain from her body. She lay there naked on the ground for a minute before reaching in her night bag and pulling out her clothes. Fortunately they were still clean from the determination she had by trying to cover as much ground in her animal form. Delaney put on her clothes and reached in for her cell phone. The small object glowed and the date showed through with the time. She cursed herself as the tiny object slipped through her fingers and her eyes shut themselves. A tiny nap wouldn't hurt...
