Delaney turned beat red. She was now twice as embarrassed as she had been earlier. "Um, uh, well...Sookie, you said you know some one in the Living Dead Hotel...wait, what? You are friends with a vampire?? I can't believe that you could have a vampire friend. Don't all vampires just glamor you into being their love puppets or something?"
Delaney pulled back the pesky whisp of hair that kept trying to escape her ear. "I completely agree with Jason, in fact I think I should decline to go down there. I am pretty sure that I wouldn't be welcome by any vampire. I am ah, a little different...I tend to never be able to say the right thing around the undead."

Sookie filled up her glass with some water and got a few ice cubes as she listened. "Yeah, Jason. You know I can go down there with her!" She replied as his brain was sure talking loud. He only just met this girl and was getting all love struck. But as his brain said, he wanted to do it right. This made Sookie giggle just a bit but then Delaney spoke and Sookie listened up with a bit of a flare, was this girl a vampire hater or did she just have a bad experience with them.
"Yeah, I'm, what you can call, friends with a vampire there. She owns this amazing clothing store but of course it is only open at night." She paused as she thought of getting some new clothes, then focused. "And yeah, Ive got a few vampire friends. They aint as bad as some think thought some are. I am kinda dating a vampire!" She said, figuring a response from her head would not be too kind. "But I don't get glamored. They can't do it on me. So I don't worry. And if I am with someone, they know not to do it to them or else." She gave a bit of a proud smile as she had given herself a bit of a reputation amongst them. "And if you mean by a little bit different you are a shape shifter, it aint no problem, I promise. Pam, my vampire friend, she usually just hates kids and stupid people." Sookie might have spoken out of turn with the mind reading but this girl had a bit of a dilemma and if Sook was gonna help, she needed to let it all out there.

Jason's jaw dropped. This girl was a what? "I am sorry, I think you are going to have to repeat that for the dumb kids in the back. What do you mean shape shifter? Is that a new term for somethin' that I don't know about?"
He looked at Delaney really hard. She didn't look weird or like she had the ability to change shapes or whatever the fxck it meant. "She don't look different, is she sick or something? Can you fix it?" Jason looked at Sookie. Did she see something that Jason didn't?

Delaney nearly passed out. How did she know? "Is this some sick joke? Did the pack hire you?" Her mind was racing. She had to get out of this house and away from them. "I can't believe this is happening, what do I do? Where do I go? What if I can't find Rylan and Vaughn?"
She slowly started to get up from the table. "I am not sure what is happening but I do not appreciate being lied to. Jason, your stupid act is a little tiresome. If you knew I was a shifter why didn't you just say something instead of trying to make me feel...make me feel..." A tear ran down her cheek. "Normal" "Made me feel different than I am usually treated. I don't even know why I care so much, I barely know you." Delaney turned and started for the front door. Once she hit the woods she would shift to her other self, run and never look back.[/size]

Sookie had spoken a little too soon. Sometimes the telepathy got the best of her and this was sure one of those moments. It was just that Delaney was pouring with emotion and it was hard to tune it out. Delaney was heading for the door and Sookie quickly rushed after her while saying "Jason, calm down, Ill explain later! Don't say nothing."
She rushed a bit faster right behind Delaney. "Wait Delaney, just wait a second. We will find them. Just stop OK, stop. I will explain everything. We were not hired by no pack, no way. I can just hear things OK. I hear minds." Sookie was pleading to the girl as she was in trouble and it was clear. Shifters were a bit easier to explain her telepathy too considering their supe ability. But Jason, good ol human only Jason. That was going to be the hardest part about it all.

Jason just stood in the kitchen like he had been slapped with a bucket of cold water. All of this was happening so fast and his head was still spinning. He knew there had been different things in the world like Sookie and vampires but all the other stuff like werewolves and dragons and witches he just assumed was a bunch of hooey. He was one of those types that had to see it to believe it.
Jason heard Sookie say to wait here and she would take care of it. He nodded to no one since he was standing in the kitchen alone. Jason didn't feel much like going out after Delaney anyway. He did have his pride after all.

Delaney had barely made it off the porch when she felt Sookie coming after her. The young shifter was angry for some reason and didn't want to listen to anymore of the lies.
"Wait Delaney, just wait a second. We will find them. Just stop OK, stop. I will explain everything. We were not hired by no pack, no way. I can just hear things OK. I hear minds."
Delaney paused and folded her arms to look at Sookie. "I may be naive but I am not stupid. There are many things that I can take and believe me I have had to deal with them, but I don't tolerate lying." The air around Sookie did feel different and her smell was intoxicating. Delaney looked around for any flowers that might be potent but none of them could make the smell she was getting from this girl.
Sookie's body language was different as well. The girl obviously felt strongly in the fact she could read minds or hear peoples thoughts but being a person of reason and thought, Delaney had a hard time thinking those things. "I can see that you feel very strongly about this "theory" of reading minds so being a woman of science if you don't mind I would like to test this." Delaney wasn't trying to be rude with the girl, she just liked fact over fiction.
She thought of something that only she and her family might know. "I hate, absolutely hate moths. They are creepy and disgusting and serve no purpose other than to eat clothes. I believe myself to be fairly open minded and try not to be judge mental but when it comes to moths I show absolutely no tolerance. Everything that I have read or heard about these flying pests makes me loath them even more. It has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that when I was 12, Rylan tricked me into cleaning the attic, where I was viciously mobbed by a hoard of moths." Delaney grinned very proud of the story that she could recall clear as the time it happened. If this girl was a telepath she would have no problem repeating the story verbatim.
"I guess it could be a summary of what I thought, not necessarily everything word for word."
