"That's pretty much it."
"Well that's doubly lucky for me. Who knows who I would of ended up with? If anybody at all. Maybe I would of ended up with Jason but I have a feeling it probably wouldn't of lasted long. He doesn't really seem like the long-term relationship type"
Brandy knew it was probably wrong of her to judge Jason that way, but she was going by his immediate connection with the blond vampire. The blond vampire, of which, after that night - Brandy had never seen again. Part of her was curious as to whatever happened to that vampire woman? Oh well, it was probably better off that the woman wasn't around.
"You know, I never did catch Jason's last name. Is he a regular around Bon Temps?"
Brandy still hadn't put together the fact that Jason and Sookie were both related. If Brandy was going to stay in Bon Temps as what seemed to be a permanent fixture in Sam's life.. she had to learn about his friends as well.
"There's plenty of time to learn things about one another. The most important ones are already out there."
"Oh, you mean like the fact I'm a witch and your a shifter. Ha! I know what I'm going to be for Halloween, even if its wickedly obvious"
Even the thought of being with him for those stupid holiday's that were made up by some men in tall hats had excited her. She was constantly looking forward to the future and growing old with him - at least, they had the luxury of growing old together. She wouldn't have to resent him for never aging a day like she would of should she of chosen Derek.
And when he mentioned he was glad that her train collided with his, she smirked - feeling like her 'train' had crashed with his and then carried his train across the state line -
"I'm just glad you hung on. I was always worried I was going to leave you behind. But, I'm happy the way things are turning out. But, I want to know about everyone now. Your friends, mostly, around Bon Temps? I am sort of, completely and utterly yours and that means I should know who is important in your life because they are going to become important in mine."

Sam rest a hand on hers. "I'm glad too, real glad" he said with a smile. He considered the rest of her words and he smiled again. "Well, I'd call just about everyone in this town a friend. There all good people overall. But I guess I'd say Sookie was who I've been closest too." he looked uncomfortable and took a moment to get his head straight.
"Sookie....and I. Well, there wasn't really a Sookie and I. But, I sort of had a crush on her for a few years. But was never man enough to do anything about it." he breathed a small sigh. There it was out in the open. Another secret released from his treasure trove. He just hoped she didn't think badly of him or Sookie.
"Oh and Jason...that's Sookie's brother." he forced a smile onto his lips. "You're assessment of him is more accurate than you might think."

"Well, I'd call just about everyone in this town a friend. There all good people overall. But I guess I'd say Sookie was who I've been closest too."
Brandy knew of Sookie, she might even go as far to call Sookie an acquaintance should someone ask. If Sam had been close to Sookie, should Brandy make an effort to know her more?
Brandy had been, of course, watching Sam intently as they talked - and she noticed he was suddenly uncomfortable. Was he getting prepared to tell her something he really didn't want too?
"Sookie....and I. Well, there wasn't really a Sookie and I. But, I sort of had a crush on her for a few years. But was never man enough to do anything about it."
A crush, for a few years? Brandy was a bit surprised by this and she picked her head up to look at him. Did he still have feelings for Sookie? Did Sookie have a boyfriend, and if she did, would Sam try for her heart again if Sookie broke it off with her boyfriend?
And it was the way he said it, he obviously had been harboring that little secret in him for awhile.
"Oh and Jason...that's Sookie's brother. You're assessment of him is more accurate than you might think."
Oh. Brandy didn't know that, but it kind of made sense in a way. Still, Brandy seemed to be more focused on Sam's most recent confession. She didn't want to be worried, she wanted to pretend she didn't feel just a little bit...
Brandy gulped.
"So.. um.. does Sookie have a boyfriend? And if she does, and they break up.. are you going to try again for her? And if she doesn't, did you kind of just.. settle for me because your still too scared to admit your feelings for her? I don't care if you still have feelings for her. I really don't. I just, would kind of like to know, all I want is for you to be happy. And if sometime in the future, she can, then, I want you to know, that is all I want for you."
Blah Blah Blah. Opened her mouth and out the questions came with no self control. She figured it to be a curse, most people would just let the questions rest - lock them away to never actually ask them out loud.
How was she suppose to react to learning the guy she was in love with actually had (or maybe still has?) feelings for another girl who he saw pretty much every day? Brandy was human, not to mention - a woman. She had every right to be a little.. worried, didn't she?
Wouldn't he of been worried if she confessed to having a crush on Jason.. or maybe even Damian? For years? (She hadn't known them for years, and she was pretty sure she didn't, but that wasn't the point she was trying to make)
Ever the inquiring mind, she figured this way - it would hurt less later. At least she would know.

The look on Brandy's face said it all. She was shocked and a little hurt. It was understandable as it did just come out of nowhere. Sam was starting to regret bringing it up so suddenly, but he rationalised that it was better now. Than later and by some drunk townie.
He asked himself all the questions she posed him. Was he still in love with Sookie? If Bill left Sookie, would he drop everything he had with Brandy to be with her? He looked deep inside his heart and searched his mind and soul. He knew the answer and it wasn't just because it was what Brandy wanted to hear.
"Firstly, I wanna say sorry for just dropping that on you like that. That wasn't really fair of me at all." he took her hand and gave it a gentle squeeze.
"To answer your questions. It's a no. I mean don't get me wrong, I love Sookie I always will. But not the way I used to, those days are long gone. She's a friend, one of my best friends but even she and her boyfriend Bill ever broke up. All I could offer her is comfort and a shoulder to cry on."
He motioned for her to come back up and sit on his lap. "If I still harboured any romantic intentions towards Sookie, I'd not have gotten you a key cut for my house." he smiled at her, "I don't need or want any cat and mouse games no more. I want straight forward and you're as straight forward as they come."

"Firstly, I wanna say sorry for just dropping that on you like that. That wasn't really fair of me at all."
Brandy never really thought of it that way, it was a bit of a surprise but at least he was telling her right? Both him and her could probably agree that it would be better to hear it from his lips rather than somebody else's.
He had spent a moment to consider the question, and his answer had comforted her. But, she also knew he wasn't only answering for her - he was also answering for himself. He would be there for Sookie, and they had a relationship that Brandy couldn't touch (nor would she want too.) Brandy nodded, and squeezed his hand in return to let him know that she understood.
"If I still harbored any romantic intentions towards Sookie, I'd not have gotten you a key cut for my house."
Another thing Brandy hadn't considered, she didn't have much time to really. The thought drumming up inside of her again, and the fact that hey, this is really happening had got her going again.
"I don't need or want any cat and mouse games no more. I want straight forward and you're as straight forward as they come."
Hey, Brandy couldn't argue with that. She was pretty straight forward - some might say to a fault. It caused some awkward moments that they laughed about after the fact but at least Sam knew he wouldn't be bored too often around her.
Now, as much as Brandy wanted to keep the mood light and just be happy together for the rest of the evening, there was something else that was reality - and was brought up during her drunken stooper only hours before.
"I think I'm going to make us some coffee.. we kind of have to talk about the queen and that big mess again don't we?"
She was already up off the floor, and heading toward the kitchen. It was important, as much as Brandy hated to talk about it, that as a couple - they communicated about the good and the bad.

Brandy seemed to accept and believe everything Sam said and he was glad, everything he said was true and from his heart. The last thing he wanted to do was hurt her. He'd already done that once before and it would haunt him forever.
"I think I'm going to make us some coffee.. we kind of have to talk about the queen and that big mess again don't we?"
Sam sunk in the armchair. He knew they'd have to discuss it, but bringing up those stresses and concerns were something he'd rather have put off till after the full moon. Brandy had gotten up and went into the kitchen. Sam eased himself out of the comfy chair and followed her inside.
He stood behind her and slipped his arms around her slender waist. "At least let me help you." he offered with a smile and a kiss on the cheek.

There was something very comforting in having your lover's arms around you from behind. The way his chest was pressed against her back and his breath brushed so innocently against the back of her neck sent shivers up her spine.
"At least let me help you."
"Help me? Make coffee? I think you just wanted an excuse to keep your arms around me"
She smirked and turned her head enough to give him a gentle kiss on the cheek. She was not complaining, and she made an extraordinary effort to barely move around while she prepared the coffee.
"So, tomorrow I was hoping you didn't mind taking Damian and I to the airport. Matt will be coming on his own in a separate vehicle. "
Brandy assumed the Matt part, she didn't dare ask Sam to get all four of them into his truck. She wasn't that naive. Brandy watched the coffee maker, almost fascinated by the steam rising up and the black liquid gathering at the bottom of the pot.
".. Sam"
She said his name, a grim look on her face had turned serious as she took her attention away from the brewing coffee and just focused in front of her.
".. I promise that this will be the last time we are apart."

"Help me? Make coffee? I think you just wanted an excuse to keep your arms around me"
Sam smiled and kissed her neck. "I need an excuse now?" he teased her. He really didn't need or want an excuse to have her wrapped up in his arms. It felt so good, so natural. He smiled with contentment as she made the coffee with his arms still around her.
"So, tomorrow I was hoping you didn't mind taking Damian and I to the airport. Matt will be coming on his own in a separate vehicle. "
Sam let out a sigh. He couldn't pretend that he liked the idea or that he was looking forward to a road trip with a third wheel involved. "You know I'm not keen on this idea, so I'll stow that away. But I do want to see you off, make sure you get away alright."
"Sam...I promise that this will be the last time we are apart."
Those words made him feel a lot better. He couldn't help but place a few kisses on her head. "I'm sure there'll be other times when we have to be. But hopefully not like this."
Sam cursed the moon and it's impending rise, they'd have to be apart again. Though just for a few hours. Sam wished for nothing more than to be able to fast forward through time and be back to normal again. "Brandy, I need to ask you a favour."

"I need an excuse now?"
"Well no, I suppose you don't"
Sam seemed to have one of those "slow brewing" coffee pots. It was no mind, she seemed still fascinated with the whole make up of the thing.
"You know I'm not keen on this idea, so I'll stow that away. But I do want to see you off, make sure you get away alright."
As if on cue, the coffee had stopped and the last final drops seeped into the bulk of the black liquid. Brandy nodded as she reached for two cups and poured the coffee into them both. She topped her's off with milk and three sugars, having to ease away from him so she could get what she needed.
No sooner was she away from him, he was kissing her head in response to her promising they wouldn't be apart again. It was easy to settle back into his arms, they were always so welcoming for her.
"I'm sure there'll be other times when we have to be. But hopefully not like this."
Other times, like tonight.
"I forgot there is one more phase of the full moon tonight. Maybe I should come out with you? We can run out by the lake and just be... free for the night?"
Brandy couldn't shift into an animal or anything, but the thought of putting on a sheer white dress and just wandering the woods with him in his collie form seemed entirely freeing to her.
"Brandy, I need to ask you a favor."
At this point, Brandy had reached for the cup and turned around to face him as she leaned against the kitchen counter. She looked at him with her warm brown hues, and brought the cup up to her lips.
"A favor? What's that Sam?"

"I forgot there is one more phase of the full moon tonight. Maybe I should come out with you? We can run out by the lake and just be... free for the night?"
Well, that stumped him and completely threw him off track. All this time he was going to ask her to stay here and wait for him to return. This was a far more pleasing plan. He grinned widely at her.
"Scratch that. No favour needed." He was becoming visibly excitable. Almost like a puppy on it's first walk out in the big wide world. "I like you're idea much better." his eyes were twinkling and full of life. "I never in a million years thought you'd want to be with me during a shift. I was kinda worried it would freak you out."

"Scratch that. No favor needed.
Was his favor going to be asking her to stay put tonight? She couldn't blame him if it was, considering what had happened the night before. She felt the need, for a fleeting moment, to tell him she pretty much had to go if she was ever beckoned by the queen - but she sort of trusted he already knew that.
She then noticed the goofy grin on his face - a rare look of childish glee lit up his baby blues and she stared at him in wonder. If only she had a camera for this Kodak moment.
"I like you're idea much better."
Brandy smirked, he made it obvious.
"I never in a million years thought you'd want to be with me during a shift. I was kinda worried it would freak you out."
Brandy chuckled slightly at this, putting down her cup after she took another sip of her coffee.
"Hun, I've been lifted in the air by my neck by a vampire, seen my best friend turn from a wolf into a naked human right before my eyes, and came face to face with the vampire queen of Louisiana. Being with you in your shifted form isn't going to freak me out"
Not to mention seeing someone you once cared about go from a normal warlock to a black-eyed demon ensued with all the powers of hell. Brandy had finished her coffee and reached for a refill, nothing like a caffeine high to make you last through the night.
"Do you think it is strange I want to get dressed up for the night? I have a real nice coral pink summer dress that would feel good against the night breeze"

"Point taken." Sam replied, unable to shake the goofy grin off his face. This was, in his mind, another huge step forward in relationship.
"Do you think it is strange I want to get dressed up for the night? I have a real nice coral pink summer dress that would feel good against the night breeze"
"Not strange at all. Unless you wanna wear what I'm wearin'" Sam grinned again. The impending cycle of the moon was no longer a huge burden, it was about to become something very special. His excitement level was almost through the roof. "But you know, if you want to grab something from the duplex to put on, we can take a drive down." then his eyes grew a little lustful. "Or you could just keep my shirt on, nothing else."

Brandy smirked and wondered what kind of animal she would chose if she had such an ability to shift. She had it in her mind that if she was going to choose any animal it probably would be a fox. She wasn't sure why, she just always liked them.
"But you know, if you want to grab something from the duplex to put on, we can take a drive down."
There actually was a dress she had in mind, maybe if Kaelyn was around they could also tell her the news. It didn't take long for Sam to interrupt her thoughts quite abruptly.
She saw the lustful look in his eyes and she found herself blushing, her backside up against the counter - as if on cue the ding from the washer had gone off.
"Or you could just keep my shirt on, nothing else."
"Sam, your such a little devil."
Sam had made her forget the reason why she was even in his shift - she had planned on having a shower and waiting for her clothes to dry. In reality though, they didn't have that much time. Time was ticking away, she would have to slip into his jeans again.
"If we want to get my dress we should leave now. We don't have much time before you involuntary change. Can you grab me a pair of your boxers and pants? As comfortable as I am in your shirt I'm not really comfortable with people seeing me in such... "

Brandy backed up into the countertop. "Sam, your such a little devil." Sam grunted at the height of the counter and internally vowed to fix it at a later date. "It's all your fault, you bring it out in me" he winked inching closer to her.
"If we want to get my dress we should leave now. We don't have much time before you involuntary change. Can you grab me a pair of your boxers and pants? As comfortable as I am in your shirt I'm not really comfortable with people seeing me in such... "
Sam shook himself out of the lust fog. "Well, another time then." and he pulled himself away from her slowly a lop sided grin on his face. "That's a promise." He kissed her hand and made his way into the bedroom to pick up a pair of boxers and sweatpants.
