Kyle took a deep breath and did as instructed - calmed himself down. "Maryann Forrester" he said, a lot more calmly than whe nhe had jsut barged in. "She's...not normal. And shes not a werewolf, witch, vampire she's...scary. All the people at the party became black eyed and were all...creepy" He didn't want to say that it turned into one big orgy, and he knew that Sam was okay with the witch thing, so Kyle didn't see a problem telling that there were werewolves out there too.

"Maryann Forrester" As soon as Kyle mentioned her name all the colour drained from his cheeks. She had came in the day before to what, taunt him? He really didn't know what she was up to. He was just horrified to find her residing in the town he had grown to love. The town he had made his home. Sure it was 10 years since he'd last seen her. Since there very brief and very weird encounter. But she wasn't someone Sam wanted in his life, at all. Ever.
Everything else Kyle said blurred into the background. He only really heard two things. Brandy and Maryann. He rushed past Kyle without even a word to him. His only focus was Brandy.
He sped through the hallways and into the main bar area, scanning the partially full bar for Brandy. His eyes widened and then darkened to a hateful scowl. He strode over there, shaking with rage.
"You, out. Now!" Sam wouldn't take his eyes away from Maryann. "Brandy, please go to the back, stay in my office till she's gone." he didn't look at Brandy, only pointing his hand to the direction of his office.

"Oh, well I... don't think I need a social worker. But, its lovely that you put so much of yourself into the lives of others. Especially in times like these"
Maryann nodded emphatically, "Oh, I know what you mean. Times are tough and everyone's just reaching out for something. Wether it's hope or wether it's something or someone to bring some light into there troubled lives."
Brandy began to ask questions, questions Maryann just wasn't interested in answering. Not about Sam, not about anything. This girl was far too inquisitive and that was an annoyance Maryann could live without. Maryann was glad she was able to keep her face from showing her true emotions, because if this girl could see how she really felt. She'd have ran far, far away.
"Wait... did you have some sort of wild party last night? I could of sworn those ladies behind me mentioned a bunch of naked people were around your house?"
Maryann laughed at the thought. If only she knew. "Oh I think that's rumours, gossip, elaborate imaginations and maybe a little jealousy."
Maryann was about to elaborate herself, when out from the back came the man she had her eye on. Sam Merlotte and he was not happy, in fact he was seething with anger. Maryann was internally overjoyed at his rage, it fed her like Ambrosia fed her Gods. She gave him a sidelong glance.
"Why should I leave? I've done nothing wrong. I'm just having such a lovely chat with your very pretty and very charming girlfriend. Is that such a crime?" she looked up at him, a look of daring in her eyes.

Kyle had noticed Sam's vacant look and was about to ask the older man if he was okay when Sam when shooting passed him and out into the main part of Merlittes'. Being a naturally curious person KYle followed him, stopping just so he could see out into the main area, but so he could not really be seen so obviously as Sam. He was kind of scared of Maryann, and he didn't want her knowing it was him who had just, well, blabbed on her.

"Oh, I know what you mean. Times are tough and everyone's just reaching out for something. Wether it's hope or wether it's something or someone to bring some light into there troubled lives."
Life and tough times. She remembered that moment when she was on her knees because she was so scared that she had lost Sam for good. That was a situation she was hoping to never repeat, at least now she didn't have to worry so much about someone from her past coming to haunt her. For the most part, Brandy had lead a good life - intentionally, to avoid such things.
That was one rule about being a witch, do as you wish to have done. Sometimes the darker side of magic was necessary, but she never used her gift for unnecessary gain.
As much as Maryann could hide her emotions, Brandy felt something.. different when she began to ask question about Sam. It was like Maryann had intentionally avoided her inquiries and Brandy wondered for a fleeting moment why that was.
"Oh I think that's rumours, gossip, elaborate imaginations and maybe a little jealousy."
Oh, Brandy could understand the rumors, the gossip, the elaborate imaginations - she and even Summer had been victims of that, but why jealousy?
"You, out. Now!"
Hold on a moment. That was Sam's voice. Brandy had turned her head toward Sam and the anger in his eyes, in his body language - in him was radiating from his entire being like a bullet train.
And he wasn't talking to her, he was talking to Maryann.
"Brandy, please go to the back, stay in my office till she's gone."
Sam didn't even look at her, and it frightened her. It frightened her because she had never seen such a look of anger.. such a look of hatred in his baby blue eyes. He was pointing toward his office, for her to go there, and all Brandy could do was - -
"Why should I leave? I've done nothing wrong. I'm just having such a lovely chat with your very pretty and very charming girlfriend. Is that such a crime?
Brandy slid out of her seat, slowly, but she just stood there and looked toward Sam's office. She couldn't talk Sam down, not like this, but she didn't know if she should leave him alone like that. Everyone in the bar was just staring at the three of them now, and that was when Brandy saw Kyle and started to make her way over to him, without a word.
What the hell was going on?

"Why should I leave? I've done nothing wrong. I'm just having such a lovely chat with your very pretty and very charming girlfriend. Is that such a crime?
Maryann's flippant but inciting words only increased his anger. "I said. Get...out...now." his eyes burning a hole through Maryann. Her mere presence just sent him into a fury he very rarely expressed. A rage he was definetly not comfortable showing. Not to his customers, not to his friends and least of all to Brandy.
Brandy stood up but he was afraid to look at her. Afraid to see any fear in her eyes. Not at Maryann, not at the situation. But fear of Sam himself. These thoughts sent him into a cool off mode.
"Please, just go." Sam eased down and his body language was almost of that of a defeated man.

"I said. Get...out...now."
Sam's anger was radiating off him so much it was almost visible. Maryann mock frowned at him. Wagging his finger and smirking. "Now, now is that anyway to talk to a customer?" she stood up and turned her entire body towards him.
"I have to go somewhere anyway." she waved to Brandy. Why not torment Sam even more. "Your girlfriend is rather lovely. I hope to see more of her." she arched an eyebrow and smiled at him warmly, knowing full well it would agitate him.
"Please, just go." His words were now cooler and his body was loose and heavy. Maryann shrugged her shoulders at him. "Fine. I'll go." and she started to walk past him, leaning in to whisper into his ear, keeping her words from drifting towards anyone else in the bar. "But I'll be back for you."
She walked over to the door and turned on her heels. "Oh, tell Haylee I said hi and not to be a stranger." with a grin she walked out the door and into the parking lot.

Kyle too sighed in relief when Maryann eventually left. The immediate....threat? over. It was then that his eyes noticed Brandy coming towards him. His attention had been so fixed on Maryann that he hadn't even noticed the other witch get up or anything at all. Great, now comes the questions, but...why had Sam been so adamant? He hadn't even told him exactly what Maryann could do.

"I said. Get...out...now."
Brandy was standing in between Kyle and Sam, her brown eyes focused on Sam. She couldn't help it, she wanted to run to him and wrap her arms around him to calm down. She didn't understand why he was so angry at Maryann - and why he felt she was such a threat in the bar. What had Maryann done to him?
"Now, now is that anyway to talk to a customer?"
Her body language. She was loving seeing Sam like this. What was her deal? Brandy moved closer to Kyle, until she was beside him. She remained silent, and Sam's demeanor had changed...
"Please, just go."
No. Sam. He sounded defeated. Why did Maryann make Sam feel this way? That was her biggest question of all.
"I have to go somewhere anyway."
Maryann looked toward Brandy and waved toward her, Brandy didn't make any notion to wave back. Her face remained..
... emotionless.
"Your girlfriend is rather lovely. I hope to see more of her."
Brandy heard, and it made her heart race. Was it because of her that Sam had reacted the way he did? Did Sam feel he needed to protect Brandy from Maryann?
Brandy could only stand there, her eyes glancing around toward the bar patrons. They were looking at Sam as if he was out of his mind - Maryann had everyone in that bar wrapped around her finger. Brandy could feel that in the air.
"Fine. I'll go."
Brandy watched as Maryann walked past Sam, but stopped to whisper something into his ear. Brandy was looking at Kyle, he seemed to have the same questions reflected in his eyes that she had.
"Oh, tell Haylee I said hi and not to be a stranger."
Once Maryann left the bar, everything seemed to go back to normal. The gossiping continued, but mostly about Sam and how everyone in the bar wondered what he had against such a 'glorious' woman.
Brandy hadn't made it to the office, but there were obvious questions reflected in her pretty brown eyes that Sam would know he had to answer.
She went to the office on her own, and took a seat on the couch.

Sam watched as Maryann left. He felt relieved, until he remembered her warning. She seemed very interested in Haylee as well as Brandy. This was not a good thing at all.
When Maryann left, everything seemed to return to relative normalcy. A few of the customers giving him looks. Looks that implied he ought to be ashamed of his actions. She had most of this town wrapped around her little finger. Another thing he didn't like.
He turned to see if Brandy was still around, only to see her pass through the doorway to the back. He assumed to his office.
He sighed and looked to Kyle. "Keep an eye on the front for a bit, Haylee and Arlene should be in soon."
Leaving it at that, Sam made his way to his office and inside, just as he assumed, Brandy was there. Sat on the sofa, he couldn't gauge her emotions at all.
"I...I'm sorry you had to see that." his voice was soft and quiet.

Kyle breathed easier now. Maryann was gone...for now. And Brandy left, walking passed him and into Sams office, and then Sam told him to keep an eye out out here and he went into his office as well. He came, tokd Sam about Maryann, though he seemed to know something about her too..., and now Kyle had to stay out here! And miss out on some info that was going down in Sams office. Unfair.
Well, since Lafayette wasn't here he couldn't very well work in the kitchen...well, he could help Terry but...he and Terry had never really talked much. He wasn't supposed to, but he went behind the bar, ready to do thsoe type of duties. They wouldn't be that hard. And if anyone asked he could do his witch form of a glamour and get them to go away without incident.

"I...I'm sorry you had to see that."
"I've never seen that much anger and hatred in your eyes. I don't think I've seen that much emotion in anybody's eyes."
Brandy stood up from the couch and walked past him, to shut the door. It was best they talk alone, and she left the door so that she could walk up to him and place her slender hands on his shoulders.
"You can relax now. She is gone. It is just you and me now."
She still held her hands on his shoulders for a moment, and then she took a step away from him so she could once again slip onto the couch. With her legs crossed, she tucked her thick hair behind her ears and looked at him seriously.
"She seemed nice Sam. I don't understand why you felt the need to kick her out of the bar. Was it because she was talking to me, or has she hurt you in the past? You have to tell me these things Sam.. what do you have against Maryann?"

"I've never seen that much anger and hatred in your eyes. I don't think I've seen that much emotion in anybody's eyes."
Sam looked down, truly ashamed he'd let Brandy see him act in such a way. A way that was not really him at all. He felt guilty and humiliated. Sam felt Brandy walk past him and heard the door click shut. Then her hands rested on his shoulders. He relaxed into them, she had a way about her that made it so easy.
"You can relax now. She is gone. It is just you and me now."
He let out a deep sigh and raised his eyes to hers slightly. Still a little afraid to look into them. If she was afraid of him because of this, he wouldn't know what to do.
"She seemed nice Sam. I don't understand why you felt the need to kick her out of the bar. Was it because she was talking to me, or has she hurt you in the past? You have to tell me these things Sam.. what do you have against Maryann?"
Sam looked up, Brandy was back on the sofa. She looked intent on getting some answers. But how was Sam to give those answers? He didn't want to lie to her, but he didn't want to worry her before her trip. She'd cancel everything and he didn't want her to ignore the responsibility she placed on helping Damian.
"I just don't trust her. There's something not right with her." Sam did his best to find some explanation that would count for something. "Please, just trust me Brandy." his eyes pleaded with her.

"I just don't trust her. There's something not right with her."
Brandy was having a very hard time accepting that. Sam was hiding something - no, he was hiding a lot of things. He had secrets from her, a whole past of secrets that he had not shared with her.
But was it really fair for her to demand anything from him? She knew she wouldn't of liked him doing that to her. But something didn't feel right, the look in his eyes said he wanted to tell her.
He probably wasn't telling her because it would make her stay and not go to Dallas. That worried her.
"Please, just trust me Brandy."
"I trust you with my life."
Without a second thought. He could dangle her by her feet over a cliff and she would trust him not to let her go. She kind of felt that way now, that she was being dangled in the air over something she didn't quite understand.
"I know you had a good reason for doing what you did. I want you to know that, no matter who out there turns on you, you will always have me behind you."
She had motioned outside when she spoke, rising to her feet she leaned forward to kiss him lightly on the cheek. Her expression however, it was obvious everything was troubling her, and with a sigh she was already starting to make her way toward the door.
"I'm going to see if I can't get Kyle to order me something to eat. I don't think Maryann will be coming back for awhile"

"I trust you with my life."
The guilt was still hanging over him like a grimy raincloud. He really hated to lie to Brandy, to hide important things from her. But it was for the best. He wanted to keep her out of this for as long as possible, hopefully forever.
"I know you had a good reason for doing what you did. I want you to know that, no matter who out there turns on you, you will always have me behind you."
Okay, feeling worse. Every inch of him was screaming to get her out of there. Grab there things and run, but what would running achieve? Not much at all.
"I'm going to see if I can't get Kyle to order me something to eat. I don't think Maryann will be coming back for awhile"
Sam let out a heavy exhale. Almost trying to remove all traces of negativity. Didn't much work. Sam still felt pretty crappy. He should feel happy that he had a good woman, a d*mn good woman supporting him. But how could he feel this way when he was keeping so much from her?
He followed her out to the front. Just completely unable to say anything to her. What could he say? There wasn't anything to say.
