"Goddammit that's enough!"
Fortunately, Sam's voice had snapped Brandy out of her very bad mood. It was unlike Brandy to snap the way she did, but it wasn't - - it wasn't just the girl.
It was everything. It was having to leave for Dallas, it was being the Queen's newest lackey and it was Maryann. And now this, couldn't the pair ever get any peace? Plus she felt the shifter had insulted Sam, and her without so much of a second thought.
The girl interrupted them and insulted them so why wouldn't Brandy want to fight back when the girl's body language screamed that she wanted a fight?
Plus she knew the shifter greatly was underestimating her. Brandy had so much power in her that she barely knew what to do with it. She was able to bring a man three times her size to his knees and wipe his memories.. plus Brandy knew in her very soul that she was capable of so much more.
She just didn't.
Because that wasn't the type of witch Brandy wanted to be.
She didn't want to become Derek. She saw where the darkness in magic could lead.
"Enough already"
Brandy stopped. The shifter woman didn't.
"I am confused by this. You say you want your privacy and for things to be quiet but then you have this woman know your true nature?"
'Because, brain trust, I'm one of the few people in this d@mn town that doesn't go to shifter's houses in the middle of night because I'm too stupid to keep my nose out of people's lives.'
That was what Brandy wanted to say, but she bit her tongue. Almost literally. Sam was looking at Brandy with pleading blue eyes.. he didn't want her to fight. Brandy didn't blame him.
"I also do not enjoy being threatened when I have done nothing wrong. So maybe I stopped by at an inconvenient time but I will not apologize for my curiosity. All you had to do was tell me to come back later. That woman didn't have to say anything at all since my situation doesn't involve her."
That angered Brandy even more. Who the hell did she think she was? Brandy opened her mouth to protest, but once again she was stopped by Sam's soft and pleading voice. And it was directed completely at her.
"Please, babe. Go inside, please. For me."
Brandy wouldn't argue, though part of her had wanted him to say "Go ahead, show the b!tch what your made of"
The girl probably didn't realize how much of favor Sam had done for her by insisting Brandy go back into the trailer. The girl might of been a 'shifter' but there were vampires that were fearful of Level 2 witches - never mind a level 4 witch like Brandy was.
"And you, wait here. I'm not done yet."
"Like I have a choice..."
Driven back into the trailer. She didn't even look at Sam, because all she wanted to do was let all hell loose on the girl outside. Her hands were clenching into fists, and all she could say to Sam was...
".... I'm sorry"
She slid her shoes off, slightly moving them to the side as she struggled to keep her own emotions in check. Not an easy thing to do when the very reason you were all pent up was waiting outside for your boyfriend.
