The stars peeked through a blanket of clouds and the moon was barely visible. It wasn't a full moon but none the less, Rylan could feel her animal nature calling. Since arriving in Shreveport via Pam, Rylan hadn't really found the time to shift. She had been so worried about finding Vaughn and Delaney that for one of the first times in a long time Rylan hadn't really thought about herself or her own needs.
After leaving Fangtasia with out finding so much as a clue to where her siblings might be, she felt lost. The hotel room was booked through the week so Rylan had to find either a job or her brother before hand. Why was he such a control freak? Like she didn't know how to keep track of money. She shook her head. It was just like her big brother to want to try and take care of everyone so they wouldn't have to share the burden.
So far the job hunt was a wash and no one wanted anything to do with the subject of shifters. Rylan didn't know if she should use Eric and Pam's names to try and get results. The last thing she wanted was to be in any more debt to the vampires. As she sat on a hill overlooking the city Rylan wanted to cry. She had never been truly alone before and felt so lost. The only thing that could possibly make her feel better was a quick run through the woods. Rylan wiped her tears and stripped off her clothes. She began to concentrate and tried to find her happy place.
The change began to take over and her whole body felt electric. Just like that, Rylan was in her animal form and looking at the world through a whole new perspective. She stretched out her legs and then began her jaunt. As she picked up speed the wind ruffled her fur and filled her with joy. There was nothing on this earth that could ever make her feel as good as how she was right now.

It was just an average day for the bearded Irish man. Just an average day where he went for a walk in the woods and just relaxed. It was just an average day where a girl stripped down and changed into an animal- wait, what? Jaeden stopped dead in his tracks. Of course, he was used to seeing a couple of shifters change, but it was just so random, he had to pick his jaw up off the floor to realize that he wanted to join in.
After removing his sneakers, yes, he was one of those few Louisiana inhabitants that wore sneakers, he quickly took off the rest of his clothes and then slowly transformed. Just because his clothes came off fast did not mean he could just grow fur that quickly. When the transformation was complete, he began to run after the shifter, not quickly because sun bears are actually rather slow, but he was making good time.
When he caught up, he made a bear moan to signal that he was another shifter who just enjoyed running around. It probably sounded odd, but he hoped that this girl would not attack him, he was just a little bear after all. His feet padded against the ground as he strove to keep up with her, she was pretty fast.

Rylan was getting ready to hit top speed when she heard a low moan behind her. She caught the scent coming through the air and almost tripped over her own feet. Holy sh*t, it was a bear! What was a bear doing in this part of Louisiana? Obviously Rylan didn't know the migrating patterns of bears so she just assumed that it would be weird for them to be here.
When she felt him not so much chasing her as he was following her, Rylan slowed down a bit. Bears weren't know for their speed and if she were to have a play mate she most definitely didn't want to lose him. Rylan leaped from the ground and latched on to the tree. She scaled a limb and artfully balanced. If she was going to have some fun she wanted to do this right. As the bear approached, Rylan sprang from the tree branch and pounced on the bear. Her spirit soared as they hit the dirt and began to roll. The animal instincts took over and she came out of the roll instantly. She was smiling and always wondered if that could be translated through her animal self.
Rylan waited and gave the bear a minute to collect himself. She was very eager to see what his reaction would be to her actions. Either way she was going to have a great end to an otherwise miserable day.

Suddenly, without warning, she pounced on him! Any man stuck in the situation they seemed to be having would be thrilled that a woman was pouncing on him, but they were not humans and it did not seem like she realized that he too, was a shifter. Trying not to break the fun, he decided to just join along, this would be fun, no matter what she thought he was. Truth be told, he may never see what she looked like up close, but at least tonight would be fun.
He swatted playfully as they rolled and once she got up off of him, he rolled back up to his feet, making a small moaning noise as many bears seemed to make. While she padded around, trying to think of what next to do, what other games there were to play, he began to run up to her, using full speed, which was not too full, to tell the truth. When he could tackle her, he veered to the left, making a small grunting noise to indicate that the chase was on as he tore after a rabbit that had caught his attention immediately after she pulled herself off of him.

The bear gave a loud moan and charged right at her. Before she could think, he turned off and took off after something. Rylan smiled and followed close behind.
The difference living here and living in Riverdale was the main fact that she would have never been able to do this back home. She would have been trapped in a room or under 24 hour surveillance.
She discovered that the bear was chasing a rabbit and she would have doubled over in laughter if she had been able. This was just too much! Rylan caught up with the bear and began to do figure eights between him and the rabbit. She was really just showing off mainly for herself.
Right as she was getting ready to make another pass, she felt a change in the terrain and her paw caught on a trap. It was a makeshift one that was probably rigged by an amateur hunter but it was affective none the less. It slung her forwards and she flew threw the air and found herself dangling upside down by her leg. Rylan screamed with pain. That translated into a massive growl, like stepping on a cats tail. Frustrated she tried swiping at the rope. Being under this type of stress could cause her to change back to her human form and she had no desire to find out how badly this would hurt her human half. Rylan quit struggling and tried to remain focused on her animal nature. Man, this hurt like a b*tch.

The cheetah ran full speed ahead, it would have been suicide to chase after a cheetah or try to race a cheetah, but he tried it anyways, no point in not having any fun, huh? She sped ahead of him and began doing this odd little pacing movement, show off! She did not keep doing that for too long before tearing off again with Jaeden close at her heels, well, he would like to think he was close at her heels.
As the rabbit was nearly dead meat, suddenly, a loud noise sounded coupled with an odd animal noise and the shifter was stuck in a trap. Unable to figure out what to do, Jaeden slowed to a stop, he actually had to slam his side into a tree to slow down as quickly as he did and he let out a small growl at the feeling of that before turning and moving towards the cheetah. Thoughts raced through his mind, what was he going to do? How would he deal with this? And then it all came to him, it would be embarassing, just a bit, but he began to change.
His fur began to shrink back into his skin and he stood up on two legs, the sudden change was so harsh on him that his hands were still paws and his body seemed to be covered in a thin layer of fur, which, thankfully, was a lot better than being stark naked. "Hol'don thar, lass," he said, rushing over to the trap with a little bit of an effort. Changing that fast was never fun. With the rope in his paws, he tried to claw at it but had to do it gently because of how tedious of work it was. The rope slowly began to give way, but he did not want the cheetah girl to land so harshly, so he left the last small strand to hold up the cheetah before he grabbed ahold of the rope and pulled the last bit strong rnough to break it. "You all right?" he asked, his accent a bit heavy because of the adrenaline that rushed through his system.

Rylan could barely move as she saw the bear shift slowly into a man. This was more than a surprise but she should have thought it possible. It was a bear after all, Rylan felt stupid for not thinking it. Once he had most of the rope gone she felt her self relax. This was going to be interesting.
As she landed softly on the ground Rylan stretched her legs. It was sore and she had no idea what would be the injury to her human person. Only one way to find out. She sat perfectly still and began to concentrate. Rylan slowly started to shift back. As her human nature was coming back, she could feel the pain rippling through her leg. She tried to stand up and with the combination of the pain and her sudden change Rylan stumbled and slipped back to the ground.
"I seem to have stepped in again literally. This is a little embarrassing. I seem to have a problem walking and I know we are a little naked...I should probably introduce myself before going to the doctors. That is if you don't mind helping me?"

She transformed back into a human, this was a little awkward now that they were both naked. If anyone looked into the woods that day, they would have thought the two just couldn't find a hotel room, but it was rather odd moving around naked. Right... "I don't mind helping you 'tall. I'm Jaeden, Jaeden McAllistar," he said as he helped her to her feet.
"Now it might look a bit odd seein' a doctor like this, but I got me truck nearby we can use. I got some extra clothes in the bed,"[/color] he said. It was not that he always had spare clothes for situations like this but when he was out running around, he had to have some spare clothes just in case someone took them or he forgot where he put the clothes.

Rylan winced as she tried to stand up again. "I guess that makes perfect sense. Thanks Jaeden." She tried her best to muster a smile. "My names Rylan. Sorry for putting you in this situation. I just got so excited...I am a bad shifter."
She rolled over on her side that wasn't her bad leg and tried to cover up as best she could. This relieved a lot of the pain but she knew as soon as Jaeden had his truck it would hurt really bad all over again. "I haven't met another shifter outside my pack. I was really surprised to see you. This place just gets more interesting by the day..." she giggled. It was a ridiculous situation.
"I know I am hurt and all but this is the most fun I've had in a really long time...plus it doesn't hurt that a handsome stranger is coming to my rescue."

"Nah, tha' dudn't make you a bad shifter, you'll heal up hare pretty quickly," he said, trying to mind his Irish accent so she could understand what he was saying. Rylan was quite an interesting name. Ryan was more of a guy's name, but it had a funny quirk. Maybe it was Irish? Then again, Jaeden fancied everyone as having a bit of Irish in their name or blood, so of course it would sound Irish to him.
"I'm more of a loner, ya know? Never rally did have me much of a pack, me mother and father were the only other two shifters I knew 'tall I came here. Still, never much joined anything," he said. There were those shifters out there who only knew their own pack, though he wouldn't have pinned her as that, she was so pretty, other shifters had to have noticed her.
He chuckled slightly, smiling a little bit as he continued to help her. "I'da helped you out no matter who ya were, but ya're rather good looking an' I'm glad that I could rescue such a fair maiden," he said flirtatiously. He was never the type to make a move on a girl, but sometimes, he knew the right words. It was like he could walk the walk, but doing the actual talking made him unsure, girls were just too confusing sometimes, he was always afraid he'd hurt them, not saying he was gay or anything, though he bet Lafayette would love it if he were.

Rylan blushed. His accent was so hot! He was so hot. "I think that is the first time any one has called me a fair maiden. Normally most guys are intimidated by my frank nature and ridiculously dominant independent streak."
She smiled up at him and reflected on his words. "Yeah, I can feel myself healing. Isn't that weird? Do you think I need to see a doctor or should we just wait it out here?" She readjusted her arm over her chest. "Is there a local shifter doctor I could see or would I have to go to the human doctors?" Rylan bit her lip nervously. Delaney would be ticked off if she was discovered by humans again.
As she looked into his eyes, Rylan felt over whelmed by their depth. "Your eyes are so captivating. Sorry to jump off topic but you really are quite handsome, just in case you wanted to know." Rylan knew Delaney would say it was inappropriate to hit on some guy you barely knew while you were naked but this seemed like an extreme circumstance. "I hope you don't mind me saying so. I tend to say what I think before it's fully processed."
