Delaney burst through the lobby like she was lit on fire. She was late no thanks to the d@mn traffic on the way down to Shreveport. Why oh why did she take this job? Delaney shook her head as she side stepped a bell boy, missing him by inches. "Sorry! I am so sorry!"
Then she looked down at her clothes. That was it, she needed money because her brother and sister were still missing. Now she was a slave to the vampire Pam and had signed her life away for some clothes. Delaney would have felt a little disgusted with herself if she hadn't looked so darn good.
This outfit was one of Pam's picks and it couldn't have suited her more. Just as she looked up Delaney ran into someone holding a million packages. Whomever she ran into fell backward and Delaney tripped over her fabulous shoes landing in an ungraceful manner on top of the warm body. Thank god it wasn't a vampire. "I am such a klutz! I am so sorry! Here, let me help you..."

Rylan had been holding a million different packages. Pam had agreed to let her stay in the room so long as Rylan would sort Pam's mail. Rylan had took that to mean that she would be like a secretary sorting papers. Apparently that wasn't the case. The vampire was the owner of the store that she had bought her gold dress from. This meant that Pam was constantly buying and getting items for the store.
The vampire decided that it would be more convenient if she started sending the packages to Rylan's room that way Pam didn't have to lug them from her house to the store. When the person came with all the packages Rylan almost died. She was going to have to sort all this crap? This was going to take all day! Since Rylan was a tad stronger than most humans she was able to pick up most of the packages so that she would only have to make one trip. This also meant that she wouldn't be able to see everything in her way. Rylan was fairly coordinated though and anyone else would be able to see her coming so she wasn't worried about it.
Boy was she wrong. She almost had made it to the store when she heard some one cry out "Sorry! I am so sorry!"
Rylan watched as the bell boy scuttled past. That would have been bad for him. From what she could tell Eric wasn't very tolerant and if the customer that he almost ran into complained about a collision...Rylan shuddered. She definitely didn't want to think about that scenario. She started to pick up her pace when she felt the presence of someone coming close to her. Hopefully it was the new clerk Pam had just hired. Rylan didn't want to start her day by having to spend hours with Pam. Unfortunately the presence she felt wasn't walking, it was falling and it fell right into Rylan before she had anytime to react.
That was how Rylan dropped all those packages and found herself on her front. Animal instincts kicked in apparently, you know cats always land on their feet. "I am such a klutz! I am so sorry! Here, let me help you..." Rylan's initial anger disappeared as soon as she heard the voice. She turned around quickly. "Please tell me I am not dreaming..." Rylan looked up into her sister's eyes. "I can not believe it...DELANEY!"
The young Were jumped up and wrapped her arms around her sister. "Oh my lord! You are a sight for sore eyes!" She pulled away and anger filled her eyes. "Where the f*ck have you been? Where the h*ll is Vaughn?? I have been in this place for days worried sick and here you are with all your body parts and no blood...wait you didn't forget who you are or anything did you?"

Delaney almost burst into tears when the girl turned around and it was Rylan's face she saw. Delaney grasped her sister tightly as the girl flung herself around Delaney's neck. This was the happiest she had felt since they had come to this strange state. Then Rylan went off.
"Where the f*ck have you been? Where the h*ll is Vaughn?? I have been in this place for days worried sick and here you are with all your body parts and no blood...wait you didn't forget who you are or anything did you?"
Delaney took a step back. "What? No, I haven't forgotten who I was and I should ask you the same thing. I am your big sister and you show me some respect little girl...you aren't the only one who has been worried sick and to top it off I have no clue where Vaughn is and the only way I am surviving right now is because I am working for a vampire!"
Delaney's temper flared as she gripped her sister's shoulders. "Why didn't you try to call me?? I had my phone with me!! You were living in the hotel you big jerk! I had to impose upon strangers! It was humiliating! When I see big brother he is going to be explaining a lot. This was a disaster! We should have never left home like that! We have no money, no food, no home...and I am acting all hysterical in public aren't I?"
Delaney looked around at all the people staring at their sibling squabble and flushed. She bent down. "Here let's take these packages into the store and finish talking in private. I really want to know what you have been doing this whole time."

Rylan immediately bent over and picked up the rest of the packages. Delaney had never lost her sh*t like that before. Obviously her sister had been really stressed over the last few days. She followed her sister into Be True to You and closed the door behind her.
"Delaney, I am sorry, I had no idea you still had your phone. It never really even crossed my mind. Especially since I had lost mine after the...after the chase I was in." She paused "Wait, you are working for a vampire? What vampire are you working for?"
Rylan looked around and noticed that Delaney had unlocked the door with a set of keys. Oh sh*t..."Are you working for Pam?"

Delaney dropped the keys on the counter and set the packages down. "Yes, I am working for Pam but that isn't important right now. What is important is something about a chase? What were you thinking? Why would you try to start trouble when we are trying to start over...so I am going to count to ten and start over because whoa...I am on information overload." She took a deep breath and exhaled. "One, why were you in a chase? Two, how did you know I worked for Pam? Three, what is up with all these boxes and Four..." Delaney wrapped her arms around Rylan and gave her a proper hug. "I missed you so much and I am sorry I freaked out earlier. Can you forgive me?"

She started to answer her sister's questions when she had her breath taken away by the force of Delaney's hug. Rylan relaxed into the hug and placed her head on her sister's shoulder. "I missed you too Dee, I never realized how much I relied on you until I couldn't be with you or find you."
Rylan pulled out of the hug and smiled. "Alright, now first things first. I knew you were working for Pam because my dear Watson, this is Pam's store and you opened it with a set of keys. To assume that you would have stolen a set of keys from the vampire to break into the store would be a ridiculous thought. The next part of the question is a little bit more complicated and probably you will get angry all over again."
Rylan took a deep breath and explained how she had been seen shifting back to her human form which resulted in a witch hunt so to speak. "I really didn't think I was going to make it but then this tall, gorgeous blonde woman scooped me up in her arms and told me to sleep. When I woke up I was in this hotel and met my rescuer, Pam."
Rylan took a deep breath before continuing. "Needless to say I tried to do my usual thing of barging in and trying to take what ever I want. Unfortunately vampires don't really like that and so that is why I am carrying all the boxes. I am also working for Pam with some strict terms and conditions." Rylan wasn't about to tell Delaney the exact details of what happened. She didn't want her older sister to have a heart attack.

Delaney stood there with a look of shock on her face. They had seen her sister shift and tried to hunt her down?? Then Rylan tried to take advantage of the local vampires? Unbelievable, simply unbelievable. "I simply do not know how you were able to survive the past few days with out me either. You are either incredibly blessed or incredibly lucky, Pam and Eric could have killed you! You are a crazy woman you know that?"
She shook her head at her sister. "I am glad that they didn't harm you though. I don't know what I would have done if you had been hurt...or worse what I would have to explain to Vaughn."
Delaney spent the next hour sorting out the boxes with her sister, telling her about Sookie and Jason. They were getting a lot done and it was nice just catching up. Suddenly a thought took her. "I wonder why Pam didn't tell me you were here? I am sure it didn't slip her mind that we were sisters or what your last name was."
A horrible thought crossed her mind. Maybe Pam had known and didn't want them working together. Pam always had a reason behind her actions and they always led to the road that most benefited herself. "I just hope she wasn't lying to me when I asked her if she had heard of you. That would really put a cramp in our working relationship..." Delaney did know if she ever wanted to learn the truth. She could be ruthless if she wanted.

Rylan rolled her eyes. Delaney was always over analyzing things. "Relax sis, I am pretty sure it didn't even register on Pam's radar. When I went to Fangtasia they made it pretty clear that they don't like shifters. Pam has her reasons for stuff but why would she care? We are new and have no power over her. Really Dee you really can get a little paranoid."
She quickly took the boxes to the back room. They would need to be steamed and sorted. Pam said she didn't want anything wrinkly in the store. Rylan heard Delaney still out in the main part of the store. "Come in here and help me get this stuff ready and stop worrying. We found each other that is all that matters. We will get paid and start looking for Vaughn together. Then if there is anything else that we feel is out of place regarding Pam and Eric we will deal with it when it comes."
Rylan grabbed Delaney's hand and pulled her in the back room. "You are just going to die when you see some of this stuff! Look what I have ready to steam and go!" These dresses were gorgeous and Pam had great taste.
"Once we are done with some of these, we can get working on the accessories! You know how I love jewelry!" If this didn't distract Delaney nothing would!

Delaney pursed her lips as she walked into the back part of the store. Something just didn't feel right about everything that was going on between her and Rylan and Pam. Would Pam really not tell her about Rylan being here? If she wouldn't tell her about Rylan, it was logical to assume that Pam wouldn't tell her about Vaughn either. She shook her head as if to cast aside the doubts. Rylan was right. They were two "insignificant" shifters. Unless Pam was thinking about the store, she probably had more important things to worry about.
Delaney smiled at her sisters. "You are right, these pieces are beautiful. I know exactly which pieces of jewelry to set out as well. Unlike you box carrier, I the prestige inventory sorter, have already been cataloging a few items." The truth was if Rylan hadn't brought down these boxes Delaney would have been bored for 6 out of the 8 hours of her shift. This type of thing was child's play and setting out everything would have probably taken 2 hours at the most.
She quickly pulled out the table she had been thinking of using. Then she went over to the box labeled jewelry and pulled out some eye catching pieces. When she was finished Delaney stepped back and took a look at her handy work. "What do you think Rylan? Looks pretty sharp if I do say so myself."
