"It'd be hilarious, till Brandy showed up. Then I think I'd wet my panties, well if I had any panties on."
Kaelyn didn't have any inclination as to what Summer meant by that. So far, all she'd seen was an angelic person who didn't seem to have a mean bone in their body. If life had taught her anything, Kaelyn supposed she shouldn't judge a book by its cover.
"Oh you can count on it. Sam isn't exactly Mr GQ."
"True," she quickly agreed, "he dresses like all of the part-time loggers that are back home. Of course, he's much more handsome than a lot of them, too."
"Just pick something in there. Seems to be a lot of Merlotte's work t-shirts. Guy must have about 50 of 'em in there. Pays to be the boss that's for sure."
Taking the verbal cue, Kaelyn reached down in to the drawer and began shuffling through the many Merlotte's t-shirts in search of one large enough that she'd feel comfortable. "Sam doesn't have a boss-type air about him. I've barely met him, so I've hardly got to see him in work mode." After a few moments more, Kaelyn found what she'd been looking for and pulled it free from the dresser. It was the same style shirt as Summer had picked out, but it was a shade of eggplant purple and an XXL. When she donned the shirt it almost fit her like an over-sized dress, just as she hoped it would.
"You know, after all this is said and done. I think I owe you one. How about I take you out for a drink or something. There's a shifter bar in Shreveport that's pretty cool. My way of an apology."
"Oh," she responded softly as her hands nervously tugged at the bottom hem of the shirt with a wide-eyed look, "I'd...I'd like that. Very much, actually. I know you didn't mean to try and eat me...."

"True, he dresses like all of the part-time loggers that are back home. Of course, he's much more handsome than a lot of them, too."
Summer raised an eyebrow quickly at her words. "Yeah he is easy on the eyes. Not completely my type though. I prefer them a little more...rough around the edges." Summer wasn't about to tell Kaelyn about her stupidity her first night in Bon Temps. That could be a story for another time.
Summer pondered Sam as a boss, it didn't seem to be a bad lot working for him. No-one seemed to complain. "Well, if I ever lost my job at Herveaux's. I'd definetly start badgering Sam for bar work. He's pretty much what you see, what you get."
Summer smiled as Kaelyn pulled on the oversized t-shirt. For a girl that had just been walking around naked in front of another girl. She sure seemed to lack a little confidence. Or maybe she just liked big ass shirts.
"I'd...I'd like that. Very much, actually. I know you didn't mean to try and eat me...." Summer flashed a huge grin. Happy that the blonde girl didn't hold any grudges. "Awesome. We can head back to the duplex, so I can grab my things and I'll call a cab back to the motel. On the way we can arrange a time and a day." she winked at Kaelyn, "We'll just have to avoid each other every full moon"

"Yeah he is easy on the eyes. Not completely my type though. I prefer them a little more...rough around the edges."
"I think I get what you mean, I just meant that there weren't many good looking men in the mountains...period." As much as she loved where her parents had chose to raise her, it was mostly the locals that had left a lot to be desired. When Kaelyn was younger, she'd managed to ignore the attention of guys who were lacking in looks and brains. It wasn't until she'd gotten away to college that she'd finally started dating.
"Well, if I ever lost my job at Herveaux's. I'd definetly start badgering Sam for bar work. He's pretty much what you see, what you get."
"I know I...might try and get a job at Merlotte's. I mean, I've got to pay Sam and Brandy back for all the kind things they've done for me so far." She only hoped that she wouldn't be asked to work as a waitress if the idea was even entertained. Kaelyn didn't want to know how she'd fair with having to deal with so many strangers.
"Awesome. We can head back to the duplex, so I can grab my things and I'll call a cab back to the motel. On the way we can arrange a time and a day."
"Oh, you don't have to call a cab," Kaelyn shyly suggested, "I have a car and cabs are so expensive. It's also so late and you don't know how long you'd have to wait for a ride."

"I think I get what you mean, I just meant that there weren't many good looking men in the mountains...period."
Summer nodded along, "I totally get you. Where I lived with my mom, it was all old dudes or jocks." Summer cringed at the thought. Was a shallow thought, but it was certainly the truth.
"I know I...might try and get a job at Merlotte's. I mean, I've got to pay Sam and Brandy back for all the kind things they've done for me so far."
"Everybody wants to work for Sam. Why the hell not? Good pay, good hours, nice enough staff. It's worth a shot to ask him at least." Summer gave Kaelyn an encouraging smile. She was a sweet girl.
"Oh, you don't have to call a cab,I have a car and cabs are so expensive. It's also so late and you don't know how long you'd have to wait for a ride."
Summer gave her a look. "Are you sure? I mean it's really late, I don't want to put you outta you're way. I mean I'm all the way out in Shreveport." A little light flickered on inside Summer's brain. "Wait, maybe I could just crash on your couch. I'll head out in the morning. Totally up to you, don't want to impose on your space."
Summer was glad for the day off. Give her time to recouperate after the 3 day binge of hunting, running and trying not to eat her new friend, well new potential friend. It was a long night and Summer just wanted to crash out. Somewhere, anywhere.

"I totally get you. Where I lived with my mom, it was all old dudes or jocks."
In Kaelyn's mind, a mental image of a crowd of football players and geezers in overalls in equal amounts appeared around a horrified Summer popped into her thoughts. She could only imagine the kind of unwanted attention someone as pretty as Summer had gotten when she was younger.
"Everybody wants to work for Sam. Why the hell not? Good pay, good hours, nice enough staff. It's worth a shot to ask him at least."
"Brandy said that I could trust Sam and I do. I just wonder if he'd feel alright trusting any part of his business to me. I'm a little...shaky all the time, but I know I can get better." The last sentence was spoken more to herself than Summer. Kaelyn was fully aware that she'd been given an opportunity to heal and take time to get used to being in her own skin again. One element that would help her along the path of healing was to...get a job. "I hope our little break-in won't affect his decision in the long run..."
"Are you sure? I mean it's really late, I don't want to put you outta you're way. I mean I'm all the way out in Shreveport. Wait, maybe I could just crash on your couch. I'll head out in the morning. Totally up to you, don't want to impose on your space."
"Oh, of course that'd be fine! I know Brandy wouldn't have any problem with it and," Kaelyn's eyes shifted downwards to the grounds with her next words, "since I sleep on the floor the couch is always available." She didn't want to freak out her new friend by waking her up in the middle of the night and so Kaelyn released a resigned sigh as she spoke up again. "Um, I...tend to have night terrors...so, I'm sorry if I end up waking you up with my screaming..."
Kaelyn hoped that didn't seem as terrible as it sounded to her own ears.

"Brandy said that I could trust Sam and I do. I just wonder if he'd feel alright trusting any part of his business to me. I'm a little...shaky all the time, but I know I can get better."
Summer smiled and put a reassuring hand on Kaelyn's shoulder, "If there's one thing I know about Sam, is he's trustworthy and willing to give people a break." Sam really was Mr Dependable, probably too much for his own good half the time. But his heart was always in the right place.
"I hope our little break-in won't affect his decision in the long run..." Summer looked at Kaelyn with a little surprise.
"Nah" she shook her head emphatically. "Leave him a note on his fridge. He'll understand, besides he shouldn't have left his door unlocked. Was lucky it was just us." Summer chewed down on her thumb nail. "Just pin the blame on me, it is technically my fault."
Summer's mind flashed back to what started this whole night off. Driving out to Brandy's duplex in her car during a full moon. Really not the cleverest thing Summer had ever did in her life. In fact it ranked right up there with her long list of stupid decisions. Summer was grateful that at least Kaelyn forgave her. It'd be completely understandable if Kaelyn wanted nothing more to do with the female Were.
Kaelyn didn't seem to mind Summer crashing at the duplex. It was the most sensible idea and a roof over her head and somewhere to just sleep this whole night off was becoming more and more appealing. Summer did raise an eyebrow at Kaelyn saying she slept on the floor. Her curiosity was jolted, but it was a question for another time. They had to get out of here soon.
"Um, I...tend to have night terrors...so, I'm sorry if I end up waking you up with my screaming..."
Summer frowned, not at the thought of being woken. But that someone had to go through something like that every night. Something or more likely someone had made Kaelyn this way. So skittish and fragile. The thought of being tormented so much that it left you emotionally and psychologically damaged angered Summer, but she put on a bright smile. "Eh don't worry about it, I've learned to shut out any outside noise when I sleep. Beauty of living on the road." Okay so Summer wasn't strictly being truthful, but there wasn't any need to make Kaelyn feel bad. "You ready to go? We shouldn't linger here too long."

"If there's one thing I know about Sam, is he's trustworthy and willing to give people a break."
Kaelyn knew that she spoke the truth when she spoke of Sam. When Sam had came and talked to her, it was amazing that she hadn't bolted at the sight of him. He was male and a shifter; two things that up until a day ago had made a combination strong enough to send her fleeing in fear. With all of that considered in her brain, the issue of asking Sam for a job was settled in Kaelyn's mind. Also, big plus for her, she hadn't given too big of a flinch at the physical contact.
"Nah. Leave him a note on his fridge. He'll understand, besides he shouldn't have left his door unlocked. Was lucky it was just us. Just pin the blame on me, it is technically my fault."
"Still," she interjected,"I know you wouldn't have done it if you were in your right mind. I wouldn't mind telling him how nice you were before you started chasing me. I don't want him upset with you at all."
"Eh don't worry about it, I've learned to shut out any outside noise when I sleep. Beauty of living on the road. You ready to go? We shouldn't linger here too long."
"I'm glad that you won't mind it," she smiled softly in relief that it wasn't too big a deal. "And, you're right about leaving. I'll run into the kitchen real quick and leave Sam a note. I mean, his nose'll give us away but it is the thought that counts." Giving herself a nod of purpose, Kaelyn followed through with her words and went into the kitchen to write her note of extreme apologies.
She couldn't help but stifle a giggle at the rather cutesy notepad covered in puppies that was sitting upon his kitchen counter. Finding a pen wasn't that difficult either, so Kaelyn was quick to get to work.
'Dear Sam,
Summer and myself are sincerely sorry for intruding on your personal space without your permission. Problems occurred during the full moon and we ended up without clothes at your door step. I'll make sure to wash the shirts we borrowed and I'll bring them to you as soon as possible.
Apologies, Kaelyn H.'
"That should do it," she said as she pressed the note, sticky-side down, on the fridge in a place where it'd be easily seen. "We should be good to go now."

"I know you wouldn't have done it if you were in your right mind. I wouldn't mind telling him how nice you were before you started chasing me. I don't want him upset with you at all."
Summer laughed at the thought and waved her hands in a motion of dismissal. "I appreciate the compliment, but I can handle Sammy Boy." Summer finished with a playful wink.
Kaelyn made haste into the kitchen and Summer made her way into the living room. Casually looking around while Kaelyn wrote out a note. Her first time inside Sam's trailer and she wasn't even invited. Though she was struggling to think of one good reason why Sam would actually invite her into his home. A reason that didn't include Brandy. Summer sighed it wasn't really a huge deal, more of a casual observation.
"That should do it, We should be good to go now."
Summer turned to her and nodded. "We oughta still be careful though. Just incase anyone local spots us." Summer made her way to the door, assuming Kaelyn wasn't far behind. Slowly she opened the door and peeked her head around it, looking for any signs of life. Thankfully it was all clear. Summer turned to give Kaelyn the thumbs up and soon she was moving out of the trailer and into the wooded area nearby.
