The wedding march. It played and the laughter had stopped, all the locals had turned toward Maryann - all except Brandy who couldn't take her eyes off of Sam, couldn't stop struggling against Derek's grasp.
"Bring forth the egg!"
- - Derek was looking toward the women as they laid the egg in the nest, his expression was intrigued as he watched the scene laid out before him. It was almost.. surreal.. how easily a whole town could be so easily corrupted. - -
"We are gathered here tonight, to witness the coming of the God with Horns. My husband to be. Now follow me in invoking him."
This was worse than Eggs beating her up, far more worse. Even the chanting chilled Brandy to the bone, ate away at her very core.
"Lo-Lo Bromius...Lo-Lo Dendrites...Lo-Lo Eleutherios...Lo-Lo Enorches...Lo-Lo Bacchus!"
Brandy's eyes softened, she couldn't even tell Sam that she loved him - couldn't even hold him to comfort him, couldn't even kiss him or take him away from this madness. What had she been fighting for, that she couldn't ... that she couldn't be the one to save him? Maybe it was her fault, if she didn't provoke Maryann that way she had then she wouldn't of got beaten up, she wouldn't have been at the motel to get taken and maybe they would of got away...
"the ceremonial dagger please Benedict!"
Dagger? Brandy's eyes had widened as her head shot toward Maryann and Eggs. Wait, no wait! They couldn't, they wouldn't!!!
"Prepare the vessel."
Panic. Violent panic that vibrated through Brandy's veins with every step Eggs took toward Sam. Something had erupted in Brandy and she began to fight back. Hard. Against Derek's grasp in full panic as she screamed bloody murder so loud you could actually hear the words through the tape.
She felt the energy tingling in her body, and she had begun to feel her body tear away from Derek's - she was pulling away from Derek and she could feel Derek struggling to pull her back. Such fury, all she wanted to do was stop Eggs from killing Sam and it felt like her whole body was on pure fire.
--Holy Sh!t. Brandy was pulling away from him, and he was using his strength to hold her back. Not only that but her skin was definitely growing hotter to the touch, as if her magic was unleashing itself from her body. He had no idea that someone could feel so strongly for anybody, that Brandy had loved Sam that much. But he couldn't, he couldn't let Brandy get free. This had to happen, there was no other choice.
He gathered up a burst of strength and pulled her back, hard. This time he wrapped both his arm's tightly around her body and held her close. It was almost burning him to keep her like this, but he had done it just in time - just as the dagger was plunged through Sam's chest.--
"Yes! Come to me Dionysus! Come to me and be one with your most humble servant"
Brandy never had felt such pain. Never in her life, and it had nothing to do with Derek almost crushing her in his hold. It was seeing that dagger go through Sam's chest like butter, seeing the one man she loved with all her heart be pushed aside and sacrificed like he was nothing.
At that moment, at that exact moment as the dagger was brought back to Maryann and she began to call forth her god, she felt Derek's breath against her ear...
"Bumblebee. Listen to me now. Destroy the tree. Destroy it all"
The tape came off her lips and without warning Derek had dropped Brandy to the ground. There was no time to question, no time for second guesses or even to stop and consider any reasoning at that moment. Brandy rushed for the meat tree and grabbed the egg from its nest, throwing it to the ground and smashing it it pieces.
"No!! You destroyed the sacred egg!!"
It was Arlene that had cried out, and then suddenly all of the locals had stopped chanting and cheering, all of their eyes on Brandy.
"You can all go F*CK yourselves"
Brandy turned to put her hands on the tree, but it wasn't budging - at least, not without the aid of a little magic. Magic that Brandy hadn't tapped into before.
"EGO dico super vox of Matris Terra. Relocate is b!tch!" 'I call upon the power of Mother Earth. Relocate this b!tch!'
It might of been humorous, had the circumstances been different. The tree, in its entirety, had ended up on the roof of Maryann's house.. right on the edge for half a second before it tumbled off the roof and smashed onto the ground below. Chunks of meat, leaves, tree branches and everything else had littered the ground. Leaving Brandy standing admist the wreckage, and not even thinking about the fact that Maryann was going to be coming for her.
Big time.

((OOC: Brandy given permission for the small use of Derek))
The knife plunged deep into Sam's chest, it was hard and it was the second most painful thing he'd ever experienced. The hardest was watching Brandy tear herself up inside, knowing he had to do this one thing to save her. To save everyone. But being unable to let her in on the plan with Derek, seeing her so distraught was like ripping his own heart out.
Everything went cold and dark. The faint sound of screams and chaos all around him. Cold hands grabbed at him and the next thing he felt was being lain down on a cold surface. Was this death? Did Derek just leave him to bleed to death on the pillar?
Sam blinked his eyes open. Not dead yet? His sight was murky, like looking through a thin black veil. He saw a figure before him, a male figure. It was death, more or less.
"Derek....Brandy....is she...?" Sam trailed off, unable to talk much through the pain and shock of the blood loss. His thoughts were on Brandy. He hoped that she'd gotten out of that mess alive. She deserved to find her happiness...somewhere away from this madness.

"Derek....Brandy....is she...?"
"We don't have much time. Maryann will be after her."
There really was no time, Sam had lost a lot of blood and he was fading fast. No time for second thoughts, no time to worry about how awkward this would be in any other situation. Derek was crouching on his knees and had bit into his wrist while his other hand held up Sam's head.
This was Derek's first time giving anybody his blood, all he knew was that his blood was powerful and he still would have to give it to Maryann once everything came to its climax. He coaxed Sam's mouth to the blood that flowed from his wrist, and hoped to GOD no f*cking love connection was going to be formed.
He knew the way it worked between a man and a woman, the very thought between a man and a man was disturbing to the core. Derek was going to make d@mn sure he released Sam from any hold before anything remotely disturbing happened.
"Maryann's god is a bull. I'm not going to hold your hand through this, shifter. You do what you need to do."

"We don't have much time. Maryann will be after her."
Sam was more or less oblivious to his surroundings. Only noticing Dereks wrist at his mouth when the blood trickled onto his lips. Sam was reluctant, this was one of the last things he ever wanted to do. Nothing personal about Derek, just Vampires in general.
But the need to help Brandy overruled every other emotion, every other option in his head. He had to save her and this was the only way, no matter how unpleasant or disgusting it might be. He took Derek's wrist and let the blood flow into him. Let it course through his veins, mixing in with his own. His strength was coming back to him. No, he felt even stronger than before.
"Maryann's god is a bull. I'm not going to hold your hand through this, shifter. You do what you need to do."
Sam pulled his mouth away from Derek's wrist. His eyes sharp and piercing. "I know where I can go." Sam steadily rose to his feet and started peeling off his clothes. He shifted into his collie form and shot off into the darkness.
Coming to a wooden fence in the farmlands, Sam shifted back to human form and studied the field in front of him. It had to be here....

Maryann stood amongst the unfolding chaos. The witch had somehow gotten free and the anger was rising inside Maryann ready to explode. The effigy was destroyed but worst of all her vessel was gone, nowhere to be found.
"No...no...NO!" Maryann cried out in anger so intense the gatherers all clutched there heads in pain. Her body vibrating with intense energy, "I'll get you, you f**king b*tch!" Maryann knelt down onto the grass and thrust her hands into the earth, till it was up to her elbows. She looked up, Brandy was off into the distance. Running scared, as she should very well be.
Maryann stood upright, pulling her arms from the soil. Her hands now elongated and clawed. She picked up her pace and began to make chase towards the escaped Witch. "You'll pay for disrupting my big day" Maryann muttered to herself as she got closer to Brandy. Her eyes enraged and determined to tear into her skin. The poison tips of her claws would take effect almost immediately, paralysing her and soon leaving her to die. Alone.

"No...no...NO!"
Maryann's yells of anguish had caused all of the townies terrifying pain and their howls almost had Brandy cowering in fear. Now was not the time to be afraid -
"I'll get you, you f**king b*tch!"
Now was the time to get the F*CK outta dodge! The moment Maryann's anger flared and she thrusted her hands into the ground, Brandy wasn't sticking around. She turned on her heels and took off running into the field as fast as her feet could carry her.
There wasn't any doubt that Maryann would Kill her if she stopped running, and Maryann was catching up to her fast. There wasn't any time to think about anything, no time for spells, no time for worrying or plans, only time to run. And keep running. Running so hard that her body was ready to buckle underneath her, her breath harsh and staggered against the cold dark air as she kept looking behind her only to see Maryann closing in.
Until she suddenly turned her head to focus on where she was going.
Hoooollllyyyyy Shhhiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiittttttttttttttttttt!!
Brandy stopped running, suddenly. Stopped right in her spot, skidding to the ground and falling to her knees once she saw Maryann's god in front of her.
Wait.. Maryann's god... was real?
The giant, white bull-horned god that looked to be the size of a two-ton truck.. was actually real? Sam's death, the town's anguish, her pain.. was all for something that was actually real?
And all Brandy could do was stare, in complete disbelief.

Maryann continued to give chase, slowly catching up to Brandy. Seething with hatred, this f**king b*tch was the cause of the destruction at her home. The cause of her upset. Her closeness with Sam Merlotte didn't help matters either. Her bond with him only strengthend his resolve to resist Maryann.
Brandy suddenly fell to her feet and Maryann followed her eyeline and her whole body stopped, went limp at the sight of the glorious looking creature. "Dionysus?" she breathed almost giddy at the sight of the white bull only feet in front of her.
Her claws faded into her hands as they returned to normal and began to pace slowly towards the bull. Her hands out tentatively, reaching for the impressive beast. "You came to me....oh my love. I thought I had lost you." her eyes filled up with emotion as she stroked the nose of the horned beast.

The great white bull moved closer to the Maenad. Giving Brandy a small snuffle through his nose as he walked past her. Maryann reached her hand out towards the bull, stroking it's nose and horns. "You came to me....oh my love. I thought I had lost you."
Nuzzling in close to her, the bull bowed his head and waited for the right moment. Basking in her adoration, the bull reared it's head back and in one swift movement impaled one of it's horns into Maryann's chest.
Letting the horn settle for a moment, before the Bull began to vibrate and the bull changed shape. From a large white bull to a human, to Sam Merlotte. He felt her life in his hands, the strength flowing through his veins as he grasped her heart literally in his hand. Holding it, tempted to rip it out from her chest and crush it underfoot.

Maryann was in rapture as she embraced the white bull. It's large head caressing her gently. Unable to speak, unable to put her thoughts into words. So completely wrapped up in her bliss and joy at having her dreams come true.
So wrapped up that when the bull gored her, she didn't quite take it all in at first. Looking stunned and amazed. "I am your sacrifice oh Lord?" she forced a smile amidst the pain, "If that is your wish, take me and devour me my love."
Then the bull changed shape right before Maryann's eyes. She gasped and lunged forward in agony. Her saddened, desolate eyes looking to Sam. Confused and bewildered by this change of events. "There is no God?"

((ooc: Minor godmodding ))
There was nothing quite like the feeling of someone drinking your blood. Almost euphoric, it didn't matter who was taking it, it just made Derek feel... powerful. Influential. And Derek was, he had watched with his dark eyes as the shifters body healed in front of his eyes. And Derek knew, the shifter would forever owe him his life.
Let's not get ahead of ourselves. Derek had rose to his feet, a smirk dancing across his lips. Suppose in a way it wasn't only Brandy he had owed, but her shifter as well. Tonight his debt to both had been repaid.
"I know where I can go."
Derek stood amidst the darkness as he watched Sam get up to his feet and shift into his collie form. Derek's hand reached for a cigarette but he had changed his mind at the last moment, deciding to thrust his hands into his pockets instead.
"I'll get you, you f**king b*tch!"
Yep. Derek had been right. Maryann was seeking Brandy's death, and much like a slow motion movie, Derek watched from the sidelines. He saw Brandy running from Maryann, he saw Maryann chasing Brandy and then he saw Brandy stop suddenly mid-run.
Oh, well this was interesting. This was the first time the shifter had impressed Derek. Well, alright it was the second time - Derek wouldn't lie, he could only imagine how much a dagger through the chest hurt like a b!tch. There was a moment, just like Derek had told Sam to wait for - that very moment that Maryann fully believed she had summoned her god.
It wasn't the moment that the horn was sent through Maryann's chest that Derek was waiting for - it was that moment when Sam shifted back into his human body and Maryann's eyes looked on in complete... realization.
"There is no God?"
Before those words even fully left her lips, Derek was behind her. He was using his body to keep her from falling backward and his lips mused words into her ear.
"No. There never was."
His dark eyes turned to look into Sam's. Sam still had his arm in Maryann's chest - a brief moment of mutual understanding between the two men was unspoken.
"You must listen to me carefully Maryann. Your god may of betrayed you but I have not. I want you to realize this and I want you to understand. I will save you by giving you my blood, but under the condition that we leave this sh!thole and never return. Because to me, you are beautiful. Let me be your god and I will never abandon you."
Derek meant these words and he had looked toward Sam, nodding for him to ease his arm out of her chest. As he did so, Maryann natural fell backwards but Derek was able to ease her down gently to the ground, placing her head on his lap. He looked to Brandy, but he didn't speak a word to her, he couldn't because there really was nothing more to say.
To Sam, however, there was indeed one more thing.
"I release you."
Derek reluctantly bit into his wrist again, bringing his blood to Maryann's mouth. He knew full well how much blood of his had already been taken, and this wouldn't favor him too well once Maryann took all the blood that she would need.
It didn't matter in the end. Derek's debt was paid.

"Dionysus?"
Brandy only felt one emotion right then.. anger. Bitter anger curled inside of Brandy that in the end, Maryann was getting her love, her future, her god at the sake of Sam's life. This made her almost sick to her stomach and yet, Brandy couldn't move - she could only watch as Maryann had her dreams fulfilled and Brandy was left with nothing. Nothing but her own pain.
"You came to me....oh my love. I thought I had lost you."
Brandy slowly rose to her feet, not moving from her spot.. barely breathing. Her dark caramel hues held such a reflection of loneliness as a brief moment of affection was shared between Maryann and her god.
That was until, the bull's horn slid through Maryann's chest like she was butter. Brandy's face was one of complete.. confusion. Utter shock. Major disbelief. Was Maryann.. was Maryann the real sacrifice? Did Sam die for nothing?!
"I am your sacrifice oh Lord? If that is your wish, take me and devour me my love."
Wait. Something was happening. Brandy recognized what was happening. She recognized what was happening and almost screamed when she saw the bull change into Sam. A flood of emotions, a flood of emotions so strong crashed down on her when she saw him..
Nothing else mattered, not Derek suddenly appearing behind Maryann, not the words he spoke to her and not the fact that he had her on the ground and offered her his blood so that she would still live.
Brandy's world crashed down around her, all at once and she was just standing there. Frozen in one spot, frozen in time - even her tears hadn't slipped past her eyes yet, they just hovered there so all she could see was a blurry vision of Sam's naked body in front of her.
She forced herself to walk to him, each step toward him was a struggle as she tried so desperately to will herself out of this state-like trance her overwhelmed emotions put her in. When she reached him, and when she touched his face just to make sure he was real, she collapsed to her knees at his feet.
Her head down, her hands on the ground as her forehead rested against his knees, her body began to tremble and her tears began to finally shed - releasing themselves from their frozen cage.
"Sam.. Sam... oh god Sam.. I thought.. I thought I really lost you.. I thought you were really gone"
She was almost choking in her own tears, lost in her own emotions. If this was some sort of trick, some sort of pitiful illusion.. she would of rather died.

Everything faded into darkness, her whole world crashing down around her. Maryann was alone, or so she thought. Feeling the ending of her life ever closer, a single tear rolled down her cheek. Then she felt his body close, he was cold but his presence warmed her heart.
"No. There never was." his words pained her, her entire existence meant nothing. What was left of her soul was empty and she felt numb.
She heard his words and felt herself be gently eased backwards. In his arms, she felt something close to happiness. She weakly raised an arm up to him, gently stroking his cheek. "My Dark Angel, you came to me." her words were staggered and feeble. A small glimmer of hope appeared in her dark eyes, a small chance of survival. A faint smile appeared on her face.
She heard him speak to the shifter and then she raised herself upwards towards him. Accepting his gift of new life eagerly. Slowly the strength creeped back into her her almost lifeless body. The warmth returning to her skin. With every passing moment she ingested his blood, the stronger she felt till she pulled her mouth away and looked up into Derek's eyes. "Yes...I see it all now. I understand. You were my Bacchus, my angel of chaos all along. How could I have been so blind to something so apparent and so real? Forgive me." she smiled a contented smile, her eyes full of love and admiration. "I will go with you. Anywhere you choose my Lord. I am now yours"

Sam's eyes met Derek's as he appeared behind Maryann, holding her closely. Whispering some words of comfort to her. It was the second time he had seen any real concern over someone else's well being. First Brandy, now the Maenad. Sam complied with the earlier plan and reluctantly let Maryann go and into Derek's waiting arms. In some bizarre way they looked, well good together. S
Sam was standing naked and in shock. Finally it was all over. All the pain, the torment, the running. Over. He examined his hand, amazed at the strength the Vampire's blood had given him.
"I release you."
Sam looked back up as Derek spoke the words to him. He could only nod back his acknowledgement. Sam sensed Brandy close by, so caught up in the moment, briefly forgetting she was witness to the whole ordeal. He felt her soft hand on his face, and he turned to look at her. His eyes still in shock. The look on her face almost killed him. Her pain, anguish and sadness bubbled up onto the surface. The tears flowing free as she dropped to her knees beside him.
"Sam.. Sam... oh god Sam.. I thought.. I thought I really lost you.. I thought you were really gone"
Sam knelt down beside her, wrapping his arms around her. Not wanting to let her go. He kissed the top of her head. "I'm so sorry....I love you so much." He let her unload her grief onto him, absorbing it into himself. She needed to let it all out of her system. A few gentle trickles of tears fell from his blue eyes. He was sure she'd hate him once she knew the truth.

"My Dark Angel, you came to me."
Her Dark Angel eh? Well, he had been called worse. A lot worse by the very woman now at her shifters feet. Maryann took his blood without question, eagerly, which was a bit of a relief from Derek. He didn't want the beautiful creature to die, after all.
"Yes...I see it all now. I understand. You were my Bacchus, my angel of chaos all along. How could I have been so blind to something so apparent and so real? Forgive me."
Derek had no energy left to tell her what he really was. If it gave her some comfort to think that he was her Bacchus all along than that suited him just fine. As that thought went through his mind, he had bent down to scoop her up into his strong, muscular arms.
"I will go with you. Anywhere you choose my Lord. I am now yours"
"Hold onto me, Maryann. I trust your basement has adequate shelter from the daylight? We will leave tomorrow night. For now, you need your rest. And so do I"
He was now looking at Sam as he hoisted Maryann up and brought her close to his body. There was a moment of silence, and he nodded one last farewell to the shifter and to the witch before turning around and walking back to the house.
Yet another path had been chosen. The fates must of been laughing their @sses off.

Her heart broke as she felt his arms around her, she was just so grateful that he was alive and here with her that she didn't realize her body had been trembling almost violently. She never felt such pain, she never wanted to feel such pain again. She loved Sam so much, with every feeling she had ever known. It wasn't natural how much she loved him, but she had known that since she first met him, in her mind they had always been meant to be together.
"I'm so sorry....I love you so much."
Her hand reached for his arm and her head nuzzled and hid itself into his bare chest. She let the tears continue until she was sure she had no more left in her. As her voice caught in her throat she looked at him with dry, puffy eyes.
"I'm crazy.. aren't I.. to love you this much.."
Her eyes softened and she lowered her head again. She didn't know what he could of been apologizing for, and all she wanted to do was have him hold her for the rest of their lives.
