Character History:
Alexander Marcs, more commonly referred to as Alex, was born in 1953 on the day the cease-fire of the Korean War was announced (July 27). His father was a veteran of World War II, and his mother was a Rosie the Riveter. The two of them built a home that sheltered Alex from the harsh life outside. He was never tuned into the harsh reality that was life and death.
As Alex got older, he forced his way into a society away from him parents. He was fascinated by the musical phenomenon that swept over the country. The Beatles were his golden icons. Alex got so deeply involved with music that he was addicted to listening to anything and everything. When he was twenty three years old, he stayed out late at night at a club, talking to an up and coming band called Frightful Night. Alex impressed the band with his insight on music and they invited him to tour with them around the country to give advice on their music.
During Alex's time on tour with his new friends, he began to expand his talents in the musical field. He became an impressive musician on the piano, guitar, drums, and vocals. His progress caught the attention of Frightful Night, and they offered him the chance to perform a solo during their next performance. The strings were pulled, and Alex made his debut in Texas. He captured the crowd with his excellent music.
But there were "people" in the crowd who were interested in more than his music.
After the performance, Alex met a woman by the name of Gabrielle Smithson. He did not realize then that she was a vampire, and so he enjoyed her company for most of the night. But after the fun had seemingly been expended, Gabrielle forced Alex into a position he never thought he could be in. He was made vampire.
Alex was announced deceased and was consequently forced to change his appearance to remain further off the radar. He became depressed as a vampire, and was never fully accepting of his new lifestyle. Recent times, however, have given him some hope in being able to be "out of the coffin". Alex wanted only to be known again.
Personality:
Alex is usually very quiet. Although he realizes that he is a social being, he still has not fully adjusted to coming "out of the coffin". Large crowds make him slightly nervous, but at the same time excited. Music is the only sure-fire way to unleash his social appetite. When Alex is exposed to any sort of music, he breaks away from any shyness he has within him and can make himself enjoyable as company. Sometimes he can become overbearing with his opinions on who's hot and who's not.
As for Alex's views on the different beings of the world-- he still considers himself human. He just has a few different abilities, and can't stand in the sun. Other than that, he more dislikes vampires and is very fond of humans. This is not to say, however, that he doesn't like some vampires.
Future Plans for your character:
I don't really have a plot idea set up at the moment. He needs to get to know some of the existing characters before I can make a solid attempt at a plot. However, I know I'm going to be trying to increase his social network.
Have you read the books:
No. (But I plan to)
Sample RP:
His bottom lip curled under his teeth for a moment before a sigh escaped. Alex approached the club nervously. His mind ran deep in thought about the kind of people he would meet. Would he like them? Would they like him? He never looked forward to the answers, so his eyes darted to the side when he entered the presence of the bouncer at the club entrance.
"Your ID...?" the man asked Alex. He shuffled through his pocket and extended his identification with haste. After the bouncer grunted and stepped aside, Alex entered the domain of humans and vampires alike. The music was obnoxious and distasteful, so Alex's mood soured. He found a corner of the club and seated himself, clasping his hands together on the table before him.
These notes clash. The subtle look of irritation on Alex's face didn't escape the attention of some of those around him. He kept getting inquisitorial looks from vampires as they passed him by. He returned their looks with blanks stares. It was just like any other night; alone in a room full of people.
