Name: Raina Keiko
Age: 24
Member Group: Fae (Water Fae)
Character History: In Inuit culture there are ledgends about a woman from the sea called Sedna and in her happy North Canadian home Raina was brought up to believe that she is a direct descendant of this Sea Woman. Since Raina’s family had no knowledge or understanding of the Fae world it was easy for them to assume this… as strange things often happened around Raina. People usually felt unnaturally attracted to Raina as if they’d known her their whole lives and always wanted to be around her. Water had a habit of doing odd things around Raina especially when she was emotional- and everyone knew this. Living in the icy fringes of Iqaluit in Northern Canada the last place Raina thought she'd end up was Bon Temps. But when her home town became home to many vampires thanks to the long periods of time without sun it wasn't long before the Church of the Sun found it's way. Spreading intolerance where Raina had once been accepted with her 'gifts' and even honoured as a holy being within her tribe's culture long before the outing of the vampires, Raina was forced to leave out of fear for her family's safety. The Fellowship of the Sun was determined to rid the north of vampires and with it any supernatural beings that existed. Raina left home in the middle of the night hoping if she left the fellowship would leave her family and tribe alone.
While on her journey through North America it was Raina's main goal to find out more about her heritage and why her emotions effected water the way it did. She learned more about the Sedna of her own culture but also the Mermaids, Selkies, Sirens, and Atlantians of other cultures. Convinced there had to be others like her she continued travelling South following bits of folk lore, rumors, and clues eventually landing herself in Bon temps where a recent flood had occurred. Raina’s convinced it must be linked to another creature like her. She's now settled in Bon Temps working as a music teacher at the local high school teaching students music theory and instruments. She's still following leads on who or what she might be and if there are any others while maintaining a healthy interest in the supernaturals around her.
Personality: Raina is very caring and empathetic. She is kind and usually is too nice having trouble saying no. However when pushed beyond her limit Raina can be very strong. She's very weary of the Fellow Ship of the Sun and other related groups. She is loyal to a fault and easy to take advantage of thanks to her trusting nature. She's quite intelligent and obviously very artistic. She's feels at one with nature and enjoys silly Canadian traits like her accent. She doesn’t intentionally use her power and finds it embarrassing more than anything. She IS (without knowing) a small part water fae. This means she’s very likeable especially to vampires. She's the kind of person people enjoy being around.
Future Plans for your character Keeping in mind with the mythology of Sedna, Raina will likely find herself very attracted to werewolves and dog shifters. She's going to continue searching for clues about what she might be having no knowledge that she is a Fae or that they even exist. She wont find any others like herself. For fear of running into FOS who may recognize her she’ll dye her stark black hair to a bright red and chop it off. Just for fun should a Vampire drink her blood they'll find it rather salty. Eventually Raina will learn to hone her powers for offensive and defensive purposes. Eventually Raina after hearing of her family's death due to a raid from the Church of the Sun will seek retaliation with the Vampires by offering her services in using her abilities and magnetism for any Vampire that will hire her to infiltrate FOS members. I have no immediate plans for Raina to discover she is a Fae and she will not carry the physical attributes of a fae such as pointy ears and nice skin as her Fae blood amount is so small. This should reduce the effect her blood has on vampires as well.

Raina stole a glance out of the apartment window. Two years on the run and she still wasn't used to seeing colour, it was always white at home. Her gray eyes stared back at her through the paned glass and she wondered what tomorrow had in store for her. Nobody here knew she was any kind of supe and she wasn't sure if it should stay that way. In other places she lived she told, in others she didnt. It wasnt like she left a huge record. The new red hair would help too. It felt like taking on a new life. To think she'd step foot in a high school of all places. She'd hated her own high school experience, now she'd have to pretend to not be afraid of the big bad teenagers.
Behind her were stacked boxes, she still hadn't unpacked anything. Sure, she had everything ready for her first day on the job and a few dishes but it would take a few weeks at this rate to actually unpack. She sighed to herself and turned to begin working while humming an old lullabye.
She lost herself in the melody and her thoughts while unpacking the kitchen. Would there be many Vampires here? She knew there was a Vampire bar not too far out of the way. She'd be interested in finding out who the Sherriff was of this area. Of course your average human didn't know much about these things (not that Raina was convinced she was entirely human) Raina was lucky enough to have had made a few good friends back home who sported fangs. Having an understanding of the Vampire world was an advantage for Raina, if only she could understand the other supernaturals this would all be easier.
While working away Raina poured herself a glass of water and took sips from it here and there. Watching it swirl around in the glass made her think more of the home she missed. Before the Fellowship arrived she was very accepted and now she couldn’t even call home to check on her family.
There was a knock on the door and Raina froze. Noises always made her a bit nervous since the FOS. She perked up when the knocking came again and stopped humming. She walked carefully to the door and slid the dead bolt across holding the handle tightly. There was a man on the other end- she could see as much through the small crack she'd opened.
“You can’t just go leaving your boxes around.” Screeched the man in a deep voice.
Raina was caught off guard but his outlash and confused. “Pardon me?” she asked her voice a little quivery. She didn’t like confrontation.
“I said you need to bring these f***ing things in!” he yelled again pounding on her door causing it to push open. Raina braced herself against it to keep it closed.
“Right.” She said her heart pounding in her chest. “Sorry.” She waited for the man to walk away- though he didn’t for a few seconds- and retrieved the box of dishes she’d forgotten in the front hall. Her whole body ached with stress. She was sensitive. She didn’t like to be yelled at.
It took her a few moments to realize after coming back inside and putting the box away that her water glass was now completely empty and though still standing upright the water was all over the floor. “Shoot.” She went into the kitchen and came back out with a paper towel to mop it up.
