The roaring of the engine dulled as the hulking silver machine slowed to a halt. There were cars and trucks strewn all about the gravel driveway. The figure on the Kawasaki Concours 14 motorcycle looked upward, peering out from the tinted visor of there silver and black helmet. A small shack like building all a bustle with activity, the gleaming neon green light above with the name Merlotte's
Reaching up the mysterious leather clad figure reached up and pulled the helmet off there head. A mane of dark brown hair tumbled down there back, sitting neatly at there waist. A few heads turned as people to-ing and fro-ing from Merlotte's noticed the stranger to there little town. The woman shook her head and her lips formed a small smile. Another interesting night.
Dismounting her bike, the woman turned and walked towards the bar. The music and chattering grew louder, louder still when she pushed open the doors and wandered inside. More eyes upon her. Raising an eyebrow as she observed the interior. Very cosy, very quaint, very what she was expecting. Looking around for an empty seat, she found one at the far back of the bar. Dark, secluded, perfect. Sitting down she placed her helmet in front of her on the table and asbent mindedly picked up a menu and read from cover to back.
She lazily stood up from her chair and unzipped her biker jacket and slid it over the back of her chair. This garnered even more eyes on her, most of which were leering male patrons. She winked at one that had his eyes on her for a little longer than she wanted. He was a typical all mouth, no action type. So he flustered into his mug of beer at such open, shameless behaviour. There were a few girls, well women manning the tables. One was a pretty blonde girl, the other an older woman with flaming red hair. Both clad in white tee's and revealing tight black shorts. She waited for whichever one to reach her table and take her order. It was a busy night, so she figured she'd be in for a long wait.
Casually she played with a bar mat and looked over towards the bar, a man was stood there watching. He wasn't there before and sort of just appeared from the back of the building. He was average height, scruffy hair, rough beard and a gorgeous set of blue eyes. He fit snugly into a pair of blue jeans and blue plaid shirt. A smile crossed her lips as there eyes locked. and my night just gets that little bit better she mused inside her head.

Kyle sighed heavily as he pushed his, now empty, plate away from him. Man that was filling! Im stuffed... He thought idley, smiling as he contemplated unbuttoning his jeans for dramatic effect. Merlotte's was a frequent 'haunt' of his, if any action went down in town it usually came to Merlotte's at one point or another, so it was a good place to get in on the action. That, and it was a nice, friendly place that was good for just relaxing and unwinding.
Only recently had Kyle been allowed by his grandmother to come to Merlotte's on a frequent basis, her arguement being that up until now he was still a 'young teenager', but not that he was seventeen her arguement held less water. Sam, the proprieter of the bar, was a nice man, kind sexy in his own way, but totally straight. And totally hot for Sookie, the resident blond telepathic waitress. He liked that Sookie was so open about her ability, Kyle himself hadn't really told anyone about his own abilities, only his grandmother knowing, as she had taught him. His grandmother had warned him about telling his secret to the right people, not to tell anyone that would spread it, unless that's what Kyle wanted. Vampires had came out of the coffin so far, but anything else seemed to still like being in the dark, and Kyle could sort of understand that.

Summer rest her chin on the back of her hand as she watched the main in plaid behind the bar. He seemed to flinch uncomfortably under her intense gaze. She was having some sort of impact on him that was for sure. He seemed different than the majority of the regulars, something in the way he moved and his entire body language. She didn't take her eyes off him for even a second, uncomfortable or not Summer was making sure he noticed her. A smile crossed her dark red lips, the more she thought about it the more it was making sense. He was two-natured, just like she was. What he shifted into, she didn't know. Didn't care. Summer wasn't about to announce it from the rooftops, but it always felt good to know there were others out there like her even if a distance was kept.
Summer made a pact to herself to at least get gorgeous Mister Plaid's name. She wasn't intending to stay long enough in this dull looking little town to get much of anything else. She hoped to get service soon, her throat was drying out from going round and round on the road not knowing where the hell she was. "With any luck someone in here will help me out" Summer mused to herself as she raised her hand towards the staff.

The normal quiet hush fell over the bar as Bill Compton, also known as Vampire Bill to the citizens of Bon Temps, walked in accompanied by Jessica. Bill was dressed in his usual formal attire: black shirt, dark pants, dark shoes and Jessica had put on a light blue, frilled collared shirt, a jean skirt and no less dark blue suede moccasins, her hair perfectly curled and resting on her shoulders. Bill was evidently there to see Sookie had no trouble while she was at work and Jessica was there because for one, she hoped she would see Hoyt and two, she did not feel like staying in Bill's creepy old stuff filled home another night alone. It got boring and Jessica does not do well with boring. "Hey Vampire Bill" came a voice and Bill simply nodded in response.
Going to a table that was near the right end of the bar, he sat down and motioned for Jessica to follow suit. She did, her eyes scanning the bar for Hoyt, only to realize he was not here tonight and sighed. Bill's eyes averted to her face and he raised his dark eyebrows. "No...boyfriend?" he asked. Jessica glared and would've blushed but being a Vampire she couldn't. "Nope, not that you care" she said. He laughed softly and said, "I am doing this for your own good, you know that." "Yeah, I know that." Jess said simply. Arlene then arrived at their table, a bright smile plastered on her face.
"How y'all doin' tonight?" She asked in a tone that matched her smile. "Fine, thank you. Can I had a bottle of Tru Blood, O positive and?" Bill looked at Jessica. "Tru Blood, please, B positive." Jessica added and smiled back at Arlene. "Yes, coming right up." she said as she wrote down the orders on her note-pad. She walked away then, muttering to herself as usual whenever she had to take a Vampire's, or more, order. "Lafayette, two Tru Bloods. O positive and B positive." she called to Merlotte's cook. Ignoring Lafayette's response, Jessica looked back at Bill. He looked at her. "What?" he asked, his eyebrows going back down. "Nothing." she said simply and withdrew her gaze from his face and put it on the other people, or beings, in Merlotte's.

His meal now over, Kyle let himself relax against the padding of the bench he was sitting on, quietly chugging down his drink. He was, kinda underage, but it was only one. One drink never hurt anyone, and besides, he had brought it with him cus Sam would never give him a drink, not even just one. As he swallowed in came vampire Bill with...a friend? It was widely known that vampire Bill and Sookie were something of an item, but who the hell was this girl. Surely she wasn't some distant relative...and she definately wasn't dinner, 'cus Bill was'on the wagon'.
He raised his eyebrows as he felt them sink into the booth behind him, his bench vibrating slightly as a one of their weights settles on it. Ever since vampires had 'came out of the coffin' he had not actually had the chance of really meeting any vamps, not that he wasn't okay with them or anything, just that he hadn't talked to one yet. Maybe now was his chance...? But how the hell could he strike up a conversation without looking like a compelete weirdo?

Arlene came out again, two bottles of Tru Blood on a tray, which was over her right newly manicured hand. "O positive," she said putting one of the bottles down a good way away from Bill's hand. "And B positive," she put the other bottle closer to Jessica. "Thank you." Bill said politely and unscrewed the cap. Jessica smiled in response and before she unscrewed the cap, a new smell filled her nostrils. The smell was unlike any other smell she ever smelled before, it intrigued her. But then, it seemed to float over to Bill's nostrils and he was at ease in an instant. As he raised the bottle to his lips, he slowly shook his head at Jessica. "No," his gesture seemed to say and Jessica rolled her eyes, gave a loud dramatic sigh, popped open the bottle and chugged down the blood.
Bill drank his blood at a more relaxed pace and his eyes fell on the person in the next table behind Jessica, where the smell had come from. He had felt the tension in the human when he and Jessica had sat down. Jessica obviously didn't, being a newborn and also focused on finding Hoyt. As Jessica finished her blood in one gulp, Bill kept his eyes and attention focused on the human next to them.
Completely oblivious to what he was doing, Jessica licked her lips clean and looked over at her maker. He seemed to be in another world so she decided to make her move. But when she began to turn her body around, Bill abruptly came out of his trance. "Don't," he hissed, his eyes now growing darker. Jessica gave another loud, dramatic noise, this time a groan and turned her body so it was parallel to Bill's.

Kyle, having finished his drink, set the empty bottle down on the table and asked a passing waitress for his cheque. He still had some pocket money left over that he would use to pay. Gods I really need a job! Maybe Sam's hiring... Merlotte's wouldn't be such a bad place to work. All the staff of Merlotte's were nice and fun to be around, so it wouldn't be boring working here. Just as he was entertaining that thought he felt the strangest sensation of the back of his head, like a slight tingling. The feeling of being watched.
He turned his head around to look at the source of the curious sensation and found himself looking behind himself at Sam, and Jessica. Not really know exactly what to say to them he just raised his eyebrow in a Something wrong? manner. This way Sam would either avert his gaze or voice his thoughts. Win win either way right.

Jessica had excused herself to the bathroom, or to call Hoyt, either one when the person behind her and Bill had turned around. Bill was still staring at the man, trying to figure out what he was. Using his 173 year old instincts, Bill knew he wasn't just a human. With a quick nod of his head and gust of wind, he was sitting in front of the person. He folded his hands neatly on the table and finally spoke. "Hello," he said simply. "What brings you here to Bon Temps?" He also wanted to make sure this person was not a danger to Sookie and her friends.

Summer's ogling of the man with the gorgeous blue eyes came to a sudden halt, when in walked two Vampires a young red headed girl and an older dark haired man who looked in his late 20's at least. This raised her hackles immediately and her whole body tensed. Compared to other Were's, Summer was tolerant of the Coffin-dwellers. But she still didn't trust any of them no matter how mainstream they claimed to be. Is it worth being in this place, with them? she pondered to herself, knowing that she was essentially on her own and couldn't risk any confrontation as that would expose her and the Were community were happy to stay in the dark and not let there existance become public knowledge.
They seemed content to order there synthetic blood and keep themselves to themselves. Summer casually observed the patrons, if they were unhappy they were keeping it to themselves and not getting in harms way. She tried to focus, don't let them bother you she thought as her eyes returned to the mysterious two-natured man lurking around the bar. He seemed distracted, but Summer never let that stop her before.
She pulled the chair out from the table and stood up and slowly made her way over towards the bar front. Slinking inbetween tables like cat, never taking her eyes off her intended target. She fixed a smile onto her face and her green eyes flashed. Clad in a deep red halter neck crop top and black leather pants, Summer felt good. d**n good and she was going to use every charm offensive in her playbook, the hell with playing nice.
Summer managed to squeeze herself in between some other customers at the bar and looked directly into his piercing blue eyes. "Hi, I was wondering if you could help me." Summer said with a shameless innocence.
The handsome scruffy haired man, looked her over once. He could tell straight away she wasn't all she seemed. Definetly not Vampire, something else. He mused for a brief moment, until it hit him. Were he backed off half a step and put on his best workman like response. "If you just sit back at your table I'll have one of the girls come take your order" he smiled at her politely, hoping she'd return to the table and not make him feel anymore awkward.
"Well sure thing honey" Summer grinned, amused at his hesitance around her "but I really do need help and you look like such a helpful guy. Won't you help a poor old damsel in distress?" Summer winked at him and smiled and manouvred herself back to her table. Basking in all the eyes that followed her, both admiring and seething.

Kyle was surprised by vampire Bill's sudden appearance in front of him. He knew that vampires, like in the legends, could move at faster speeds than 'normal' people could, and that's fine, that was expected. But he hadn't been expecting for him to appear right THERE in the basic blink of an eye. Though he was proud that the only reaction was a slight involuntary shake of his body.
"Hello" He said back, in the same tone Bill had used. "The fact that I LIVE here brings me to Bon Temps" He answered back, a little snippy. Who was this guy to interogate him?! They were complete strangers

Summer leant back in her chair, not entirely satisfied with her progress. But it was a start and that had to count for something. The red headed woman seemed to materialise in front of Summer, breaking her out of watching the shifter. "What can I get you tonight?" she said, her accent thick and heavy laced with a tinge of annoyance. Summer pondered her question, tracing the menu with her index finger and looking up at the ceiling. Then it hit her. this is my chance casually looking back at the feisty waitress, she nodded towards the bar. "I'll have a handsome in plaid over there to go please"
The red head looked at Summer like she'd just grown a second head and then let out a small laugh. A real dirty laugh. "Sam?" she shook her head and walked towards the bar and muttered something to him before heading into the kitchen. He looked over Summer almost coyly, but cautiously made his way over to her table anyway. "Who are you and what exactly is it you want?" he snapped at the pretty brunette in a hushed tone.
Summer looked up at his face, admiring his blue eyes again but trying to stifle a giggle at his absolute seriousness. "I'd tell you what I want, but I hate to see grown men blush" she replied, teasing him. He leant down a little closer to her and whispered "I don't know who you think you are, but if you're not here to eat or drink I suggest you leave" Summer put on her best faux hurt face, "You're really mean you know that? I'm on my way to Shreveport and I got lost. I only came in here to get something to eat and drink and get directions."
Sam leant up away from her face and looked embarassed and a little flustered. "I uh..." he began not quite knowing what to say only to be cut off by an even dirtier laugh than the red headed waitresses. "Oh I'm sorry, I didn't mean too...I couldn't help myself" Sam's eyes darkened, unamused by her flippant attitude. "Oh I really am lost" Summer spat out in between fits of giggles. "I really do need directions to Shreveport, Sam." she stifled her laughter as she said his name. He threw her an incredulous look. "Oh don't sweat it, red over there told me" Summer explained, pointing over to waitress, Arlene Fowler who was stood there with short order cook Lafayette watching it all unfold with great amusement. Lafayette gave Sam a knowing look and shimmied back into the kitchen.
"Oh and I'll have a Coors light and burger and fries please hot stuff" Summer flashed a bright smile towards Sam who shuffled off towards the kitchen, glaring at Arlene.

Rose had been passing by, and for some reason this little place held a lot of allure for her. Shrugging her shoulders and standing up straight she pushed open the door to Merlotte's and entered. She was quite taken aback at the many people in the bar, the many supernaturals she could count. It was easy for her to spot some of them, for such a small town this place really had a lot. She looked around and chose a seat at the bar.
"Bottle of O negative please, Tru Blood." She smiled winningly to the bartender.

Summer sat waiting her order and casually looked around the bar. She mused to herself that it was quite a nice place after all. The customers all seemed content and the attraction of the stranger in there midst seemed to be wearing off. As cosy as it was, she wasn't planning on staying around for too long. Sleep overnight at the local motel and head out to Shreveport in the morning. The red headed waitress came walking over to Summer, tray in hand and this time a smile on her face. "Here you go hun" she said warmly as she placed the tray on the table. "Enjoy yer meal and oh, there's something under the plate for you." Summer's eyes glinted with curiosity "Oh really?" and gave the waitress a crooked smirk. "Yeah, it's directions to Shreveport. Sam wrote it out and asked I give you it."
Summer inched her head upwards towards the red head "and you would know this...how?" Summer knew fine well the reason, but this was yet another opportunity that couldn't be ignored. "Ah, sorta looked" blushed Arlene, grinning sheepishly. "Mmmhmmm" was all Summer said in reply. Never one to let go of a subject to dig up gossip about, she leaned over the table towards Summer, "Why are you so fascinated with my boss?" Boss? Summer almost burst with glee, but kept it well hidden. "He caught my wandering eye, I guess you could say." Summer winked at Arlene who gave another one of dirty laughs, "Ah think I like you" and stood up and gave Summer a knowing look. "Enjoy your stay in Bon Temps." Summer saluted the woman with a tip of her beer as she went back to her duties.
Tucking into her meal, Summer made a mental note to pay compliments to the chef. Another swig from the bottle and the Coors was drained of it's contents. Summer sighed happily, a potential disaster turned into an enjoyable evening with eye candy. She pondered over her next move, to get closer to Sam. He wasn't very open or trusting so befriending him wouldn't be easy. He wandered around out front again, trying his utmost not to look her in the eye then scurried to the back as fast as he could when he noticed Summer's admiring glances.
BINGO!
Scrambling around in her jacket, Summer pulled out a black biro and snatched a napkin eagerly and begun to scrawl on it. She noticed Arlene taking a break at the bar and waved her over. Summer grinned as Arlene teetered over, no doubt in a hurry to pcik up on some more gossip. "Hey!" she beamed, "everything alright?" Summer grinned back at her, "Oh yeah, everything was great. But I was wondering if you could do me a small favour." Arlene nodded enthusiastically, "Just name it." "Could you go bring Sam out front for me please, but don't tell him it's me. I think I intimidate him." I raised my eyebrow, hoping she'd catch the humour. "Oh sure thing sweetie" she couldn't get off the chair quick enough and disappeared into the back.
I stood up, put my jacket on and let it hang loose. My helmet was safely gripped in my right hand. Sam's face dropped when he saw who was waiting on him at the gap between the bar and the booths. He motioned to speak but Summer strutted up to him full of confidence and without a moments hesitation she moved in for the kill. Laying a deep kiss on his surprised lips. He seemed to warm up to it ever so slightly, but didn't overly reciprocate her advances. Happy with her prize, Summer pulled away looking deep into those big blue eyes of his and smiled a smile of sheer satisfaction. "I have something else for you." she whispered in his ear and with her left hand reached around and slipped the napkin in his back pocket. "I'm only in Bon Temps for a short visit, I won't wait long for an answer." and with a smirk and a flick of her hair she turned on her boot heels and headed out of Merlotte's and into the parking lot to get on her motorcycle and find a motel with a vacancy.
