Okay, so im not 100% sure what the witches of the book series can really do, they seem to incant mostly. With Kyles magic i was gonna base it off of willow rosenberg from buffy, in that he can move things with his mind without saying a word, but for almsopt everything else he has to say a latin word or two. (And about moving people, like prue halliwell for instance, im not sure, is he allowed to do that admins?)
So what do you all think?

I do have an opinion about this but I think this is mainly up to Sookie and the moderator team... Besides, my opinion can't count until I've read all of the books, as I don't know how much more witches are mentioned after the witch war.

Well...Mr Kyle....you told me you are on the fourth book. Get to it buddy!! Page 41 (as I took note of when reading last night) gives the first description of witches. There are good and bad. Good ones practice for the religion, the natural works of it all. Bad ones want to take over. For instance, they can control vampires in a way because their powers are rooted in magic, dark magic. But other humans, there is question there.
I do not think you can move humans, that is for sure. Just too much God Modding there. But objects flying at them yes. You could say your tried to move the person and leave it open for their defense or not. Remember that when fighting just keep it real. Always win some and lose some...you cant always win. But not moving of other characters. I would say that you can with vampires in a sense...we will post about that soon. But just steer clear from telekenisis with moving people, but inanimate objects is just fine.
And Alcide! We here love opinions from everyone. Kyle put this up for discussion. And I would love to hear what you have to say because it will help get the discussion going. Never hesitate to say whats on your mind.

I just finished books 2,3 and 4 in a day and a half lol. Didn't want to comment on this until I'd read about Harris' witches. I agree with everything Sookie is saying, I don't think moving people would be the rigth way to go, and of course depending on if you are a good or bad witch would depend on if you wanted to try as well. Of course you could be good and defending yourself. I think the main thing the craft it about nature etc. And I think using the latin is good, though you could always go for 'chanted in a different language', depends on how far you want to go with that as well.

I like the idea that Sookie had about letting it be up to the other character on if they are "moved" or not. Like if Kyle "pushed" someone with his mind and left it open for the other person to accept it or not, I feel it would make for some cool RP. Since I havent read any of the books, I am not sure how the supernatural act. The only thing I know about witches is what I have seen on TV and read in other books. There does seem to be one common thing in all of the books I have read and that would be that the "good" witches are more earth based, mother nature and all of that. Were as the "bad" witches are more toward the devil or evil spirit or some evil/dark being/god. Sorry if my posts seem to either not make sense or something, there are so many things in my mind right now for RP as well as my real life that it has been hard for me to convey a proper thought. lol

Kk, im liking all the ideas lol. And yeah, ill probably alternate between chanting and using single or double latin words. And with the moving thing, well, I won't be using it often, it's just incase i really need to defend myself or to cause dramatic effect. But yeah, I'll leave it open ended

Well, okay, thanks Sookie, I just didn't want to get yelled at in case my opinion wasn't wanted! x3
Anyway, I think since Kyle is so very young, his powers would be baby-like and not very powerful. So you know, if you are fighting against vampires and werewolves, I'd say he'd have to take a defensive stance on it and wouldn't be an offense sort of deal. I think once he grows older and wiser about his magic abilities (perhaps he could be taken under an older witch's wing?) I think his powers should be very lowly.
Unless it turns out he's like a chosen witch, well, that'd have to be up to you and Sookie and the mods... where he's got more unique magical prowess than the others, even witches older than himself.
As for moving things, I think that should be very limited. Like I don't know how much experience I can offer with that, but I've been on dozens of X-Men boards throughout my 8 years of roleplaying, and when we had a baby telekinetic, they could only move small objects, only certain objects up to a certain weight, probably also depend on his concentration and his words, I suppose?
I hope that offered something for ya... that's my two cents!
