Jessica knew the library wouldn't be open at this time of night. For one thing, it was 12 midnight and many stores were closed down for the day or night, if you will. For another, she also knew that libraries usually closed in the late-afternoon, early-evening. When she'd woken up for the night, she had checked the hours of Bon Temps local library on Bill's computer and realized it had closed an hour ago. Being the rebellious, impulsive Vampire she was, Jessica had gotten dressed and speeded at the normal speed she used, the Vampire speed. She'd arrived at the library within 15 seconds and came to a stop in front of the main doors. The sign clearly read 'Closed' but Jessica had needed to do very important research. She took a look around her to see that she was alone then looked back at the two dark glass doors.

So what reason would a witch have for being so close to the library at midnight anyway? It wasn't like Brandy was a criminal looking to break in, she was merely there to return a book she had borrowed.
The history of witchcraft and the impact on today's society.
It had been a long, irritating book full of self-proclaimed opinions and it read like a high school essay. Hence to say, Brandy had been disappointed.
When she neared the library, she saw the womanly figure with bright red hair standing close to the dark doors. She had a look of mischief in her eyes, and it made Brandy hesitant to approach. But Brandy hated late fees, which was what she would get for the boring old book she didn't even like.
She figured, maybe if she pretended she didn't notice, that the woman would pay her no mind.

Jessica's impulses had sensed someone was near and she turned her head robotically towards the woman who'd made her turn her head. She could sense her hesitant to approach so she put on a smile to reassure her. "Guess I'm not the only one who comes to the library at ungodly hours." She laughed warmly and then saw the book in the woman's hands.

"Guess I'm not the only one who comes to the library at ungodly hours."
The voice had interrupted her thoughts and she found herself looking toward the girl with a keen interest. Offering up a smile, she noticed that the girl was eying her book curiously.
"Oh, yeah this? Just a book that reads like a high school term paper. Doesn't teach you a thing about being a witch or how to strengthen your spell casting. In fact, I found it opinionated and dull."
It was too bad Brandy couldn't sense "vampire", the only vibes Jessica had been giving off were mischievous and now, curiosity. Nope, Brandy wasn't that far advanced yet.
Satisfied with her explanation she dropped the book in the 'after hours' slot and looked back at her.
"Well, I guess that is done. You perhaps wouldn't know where there is a store close by would you? I have to pick up some food before I starve to death"
Brandy would of opted for Merlotte's, but she was pretty sure they were already closed.

Jessica tore her eyes from the door with some reluctance and smiled in response to the girl. "Is it like a textbook or something?" Jessica had been "home-schooled" and hadn't had much experience with textbooks and other school supplies. However, in her elementary school years she learned of them, like most of the kids in her class. As the years went on, she was pulled out of public school and was forced to be "home-schooled" by her father. However, his definition of home-schooling was scaring his first-born to death (no pun intended) or beating her with a belt whenever she spoke back or disobeyed. Ignoring these memories, Jessica watched the girl put the book in the slot and did not look at the doors again. "Well hold on." she took out her phone and checked the time, it was 15 minutes past 12. "Merlotte's might be open, if you're up for going there." She finally said, putting her phone back in her pocket.

"Is it like a textbook or something?"
Brandy stopped for a moment, a curious look on her face. It wasn't her place to question if someone did or didn't know what a text book was.
"Oh, um, well the book I had wasn't. It just read like one. It's no matter really."
She didn't know quite how to explain it, she never had to explain something like that. She couldn't help but to be curious of this young girl.. there was something about her that Brandy couldn't quite put her finger on.
"Well hold on. Merlotte's might be open, if you're up for going there."
"I'm trying to avoid that place tonight, if I am there any more than I have been the owner is going to think I'm stalking him."
She was a bundle of confused emotions, and she couldn't explain why. It was being around this new girl that made her feel that way.
"I'm BB, did you maybe want to join me in my quest to find another place to eat besides Merlotte's?"

Jessica noticed that this woman did not know how to explain the book so she forgot about it. If this had been a person she knew, such as Bill, she probably would've pried him or her to tell her more. But since she just met her, Jessica was sweet as pie, not in a fake way though. Jessica nodded in acknowledgement at the woman's response and also let that go, then laughed. "I hear he's pretty cool." She hardly knew Sam but from what she heard Sookie telling Bill, he seemed like a pretty nice guy. "Oh hi, BB. My name is Jessica, nice to meet you." She smiled then thought about Fangtasia. She knew, thanks to her Vampire senses, that BB was not just human but something more. If she weren't Vampire, which Jessica did not know whether she was or wasn't, then Fangtasia wouldn't do her justice in finding food.

"I hear he's pretty cool"
"He is.. a really nice guy."
Hell, she didn't know anyone else who would offer up a place for her to stay. Or someone who looked so good. Smelled so good. Felt so good.
She was carrying on again. To this point, no one knew about Sam and her.. their growing relationship so to speak. In a small town however, Brandy figured it wouldn't take long. She was almost intimidated by the thought.
"Oh hi, BB. My name is Jessica, nice to meet you."
"Jessica? That's a nice name. It suits you. Well, I guess you don't know a place either eh? Maybe I will just go to the store and pick up some snacks. Are you sticking it out around here?"

Jessica smiled back. "Thanks, does BB stand for anything?" Her eyes didn't return to the pair of double doors that led into the library. "No, I'm not." She said finally. "I could help you find somewhere, if you like. Are you new to Bon Temps?" Once again, the vibes that something was different about BB came back. Ignoring them for now, Jessica brightened up the smile that was on her face.

"Thanks, does BB stand for anything?"
Brandy perked up, Jessica had wanted to know more about her. Well, that usually meant potential for another friend. This was always a good thing, you could never have too many friends.
"Yep. It's short for my full name. Brandy Berry. I don't really let too many people know my first name - just sounds weird to me after getting used to BB you know?"
Brandy had her own secrets. But she tried not to even think about them, thinking about them might make it real. That was the last thing anybody needed at that moment.
"I could help you find somewhere, if you like. Are you new to Bon Temps?"
"Uh, actually yeah. The only place I have been is Merlotte's, and that Fangtasia bar in the next town over. I actually met vampires there, I never met them before then. One of them, she called herself Pam, seemed to be cautious about me being a witch. I couldn't really blame her, witches on a whole aren't exactly vampire friendly."

Jessica nodded in acknowledgement that she knew what BB/Brandy was talking abut. "I know, I like your name too but if you don't mind, I'll call you BB." She laughed, with a genuine smile appearing on her face. But then she froze as BB spoke again. So, that's why my senses sensed something was different about her, she's a witch. Wow, Jessica, only you would try and make friends with a supposedly non-Vampire friendly supe. Oh, well she doesn't seem to be a threat to me. She thought and then came out of her daze. "Well, where are you headed? I just might know it." She put a smile back on her face.

"I know, I like your name too but if you don't mind, I'll call you BB."
Brandy smiled at that, she was getting so used to being called "BB" that she almost forget what her real name was... almost.
After a moment, Jessica had asked where she wanted to go. The truth was Brandy didn't know - she was just finding to find a convenience store.
"Well, I just wanted a bag of chips so is there a convenience store around here? I should be heading home shortly, I don't mind vampires but it is better safe than sorry right?"
Nope, she didn't mind them at all. At least because, they hadn't done anything to harm her and her friends - if someone had, vampire or not, Brandy would not be a very nice girl about it.

Jessica returned the smile and then thought for a bit. "There is the Grabbit Kwik, it's name speaks for itself." She laughed. "Yeah, better safe then sorry is right." Jessica didn't mind anyone who didn't cause her trouble or who had no problem with her causing trouble.

"There is the Grabbit Kwik, it's name speaks for itself."
"Grabbit Kwik? That is clever. Deliciously so"
Jessica had given no indication that she had been a vampire, even though there certainly was something different about her - Brandy couldn't pinpoint it.
"Yeah, better safe then sorry is right."
She nodded, and assuming Jessica would start walking Brandy had joined her side. Casual conversation time, might as well learn more about the pretty redhead during their walk.
"So Jessica.. you have any boyfriends or love interests? I know its a silly question cause your such a pretty girl, but its fun to find out those kind of things"

Jessica looked over at Brandy, who was now by her side, and smiled. "I think it's about 3 or 4 blocks from here. Sometimes, I love Bon Temps being so small and close." She laughed, then began to walk. "Thanks for the compliment, you're very pretty yourself." She complimented back and then nodded her head, "I do but he's currently on vacation for a good week or two." She said, smiling at the thought of Hoyt Fortenberry, her boyfriend, returning. "What about you?" She asked curiously.
