"I think it's about 3 or 4 blocks from here. Sometimes, I love Bon Temps being so small and close."
"I know! It's really nice actually. Everything is within a close proximity of each other that you don't even need a car to get around"
Brandy loved to drive, but the fresh air was way too tempting on a night like tonight. The night was young, she prevented a late fee, and she met Jessica.
"Thanks for the compliment, you're very pretty yourself."
A faint blush had crawled over her cheeks, she couldn't help it. She knew she wasn't terrible to look at, but she was usually so quiet at times that she didn't hear it much.
"Thank you. I think the majority here are blessed with the pretty gene"
I do but he's currently on vacation for a good week or two."
"Really? That has to suck. No fun being without the one you love"
"What about you?"
"Me? Well..."
Could she call Sam a boyfriend? No, she couldn't. Of course not. She had a friend that she wanted to be more, but that was at far as it went at this moment.
"No... not exactly. No boyfriend. There is.. someone I'm interested in though. But as of yet, I'm still single"

Jessica nodded in agreement. "Exactly! It's nice to just sometimes be able to walk out and walk to wherever you want to go. Cars can be annoying sometimes too." She said and smiled over at BB. Even though there was something different about this woman she just met, BB acted so normal, so kind. Then again, we all pump the same red blood in our veins...well kind of. Jessica thought to herself then turned her attention back to their conversation. When she saw BB blush, she felt a little pinch of jealously. At times, Jessica missed being able to blush and other times she didn't. Now would be a time she missed blushing and her cheeks growing red, matching her head of red hair. She laughed at BB's next comment, the jealousy vanishing just as quickly as it had arrived, "Yeah, definitely." She said, once she'd concluded laughing. She nodded then, "Yeah, it does but we talk on the phone every night when my maker doesn't know or isn't around." Jessica had a reputation to be one devious Vampire, especially when it came to Bill. From an outside view, one could assume Jessica enjoyed trying Bill's patience over just about everything that comes up between them. She doesn't enjoy it, no, it's just the way she rolls. Jess listened closely as BB spoke about her...crush? With a teasing smile, Jess squealed in delight and said in high pitched voice, "Awh! Really? Tell me all!"

"Yeah, it does but we talk on the phone every night when my maker doesn't know or isn't around."
Well, that certainly threw her for a loop. Her eyes were wide even as Jessica continued and then asked her for details about her own crush. Well, no wonder Jessica was by herself at this time of night and didn't even seemed worried about it.
Jessica was a vampire.
"Wow. I couldn't even tell. That your a vampire, I mean. Your so cheerful, usually vampires are very.. well.. uh.. not?"
She was curious now, she could talk openly to Jessica, and Jessica wasn't as intimidating as Pam was. She wanted to ask her all sorts of questions but decided to be polite and answer Jessica's first.
Casually, not interested in the store anymore, Brandy had sat down on the steps and motioned for Jessica to sit beside her.
"Well, you probably know him. Sam Merlotte, the owner of Merlotte's bar and grill. I have this huge crush on him and.. well.. if you promise not to tell anybody.. we have kinda been hanging out. Alot. I even kissed him! But it was a huge mistake and way to fast, plus I might of been just a little tipsy.. but, it didn't scare him away... and he even told me that he likes me too. He is such a sweet guy Jessica, I don't know what I would do if I couldn't be with him - -"
She knew she was rambling, and probably looking like a gushing school girl at this point - but she felt, that it probably didn't matter.

As BB's eyes widened, Jessica realized she'd just blurted out that she was Vampire. f**k! Is Bill gonna kill me...again?!? Her mind raced. Wait, what am I freaking out about? He doesn't need to know Jessica almost laughed at herself but held it in, so BB's eyes wouldn't bulge out of their sockets. But then when BB spoke again, Jessica was relieved she didn't say anything that would signify her being frightened. "Well...uh, I'm new-born so I still have some of my 'humanity' apparently. At least that's what my maker says all the time." She didn't allow the memories to seep back into her brain so instead she put on a smile. When BB motioned for her to sit down, Jessica plonked herself down, a bit distantly from BB and listened intently as BB talked about her crush. By the time BB finished, Jessica's eyebrows were practically up to her hair line. "Whoa! That's amazing! I'm happy for you!" She smiled even more brightly and closed the distance between BB and herself. "Oh and don't worry, I won't tell anyone!" She promised, still smiling.

. "Well...uh, I'm new-born so I still have some of my 'humanity' apparently. At least that's what my maker says all the time."
A new born? That must of meant that Jessica had just been turned not to long ago. This of course, struck up more questions for the red haired vampire. She noticed that Jessica kept her distance from her, and that was fine - she was "kind of" cautious when she first met someone.
Shortly afterward, Jessica had shown her enthusiasm for her small, yet feeling-expressed rant toward Sam. When she added that her secret was safe, Brandy had also smiled.
"Thank's, I mean.. it's not like I care what other people in this town think I just, well, I guess I just respect Sam and his need to keep his private life, well private. But it is a bit intimidating you know? He is particularly famous here, I mean he has his own bar. But small towns tend to talk and cause drama - I know its going to come eventually but for now.. "
She crossed her fingers and then found herself looking toward the moon. A few days and that moon would be full, and all things came out during a full moon. She felt a tinge in her bones, even her powers grew on the nights of the full moon.
"What is it like? I mean, to be a vampire? It must of been a confusing time for you. I mean, with the transition.."

"No problem, yeah I know. I get what you mean." She said and looked up at the moon with her. "Oh, being Vampire? Well honestly, it's really cool!...for me at least. Now, I am able to do so many things, things I wouldn't have been able to do when I was human. I was...sheltered, let's say, by my parents and they hardly had me out of their sight. Most of the time, it was so annoying!" She ranted, then stopped before she got graphical. "Yeah, it was confusing at first but after my maker calmly explained everything to me, I was thrilled! I think that confused him more than being Vampire confused me." She laughed, annunciating the word "calmly." That was one of the few times Bill was calm with her, when she was barely a night old and had not yet found out she was immortal. As for the transition, all she could remember was the excruciating pain she'd felt when Bill first sank his fangs into her neck and drained her of her blood until she was dead and then Bill replaced her blood with his and finally shared his essence with her when they slept together in the ground. Shuddering slightly at the memory, Jess decided it would be best to leave that part out. "I don't remember much of the transition, honestly." She finally said. "Only before, while I was still human."

Well, at least Jessica could relate to Brandy's thoughts on small towns. Usually you couldn't take a pi$$ without someone down the road finding out about it.
"Oh, being Vampire? Well honestly, it's really cool!...for me at least. Now, I am able to do so many things, things I wouldn't have been able to do when I was human. I was...sheltered, let's say, by my parents and they hardly had me out of their sight. Most of the time, it was so annoying!"
Cool to be a vampire? Well, Brandy could see where Jessica was coming from. It sure was intriguing, but being vampire also came with a price. A price that Brandy didn't feel like sacrificing, and she already had the thought in the back of her mind that Sam wouldn't want to be with a vampire.
She didn't know why, it was one of those 'feelings' she tended not to question.
But the freedom that Jessica felt now, to be someone and not who she used to be - -
"Yeah, it was confusing at first but after my maker calmly explained everything to me, I was thrilled! I think that confused him more than being Vampire confused me. "I don't remember much of the transition, honestly."
Granted, Brandy didn't know many people in this town yet. But she had asked, because if Jessica's maker ended up being Pam...
"If you don't mind me asking.. who is your maker anyway?"

"I don't mind at all!" Jessica enthused brightly. "My maker is Bill Compton, or Vampire Bill as most people here call him, do you know him?" Jessica knew Bill seemed to be quite known by the Bon Temps locals, probably because of his interest in Sookie and their whole relationship. Nevertheless, Bon Temps was one small town where everybody practically knew each other. This was why Jessica asked if BB knew Bill, that and out of pure curiosity. She could read on BB's face that she knew another Vampire and she was hoping this specific Vampire was not her maker. "He's nice...well, most of the time. He's not like some Vampires around here." Jessica added briskly for Brandy's benefit.

"My maker is Bill Compton, or Vampire Bill as most people here call him, do you know him?"
"A vampire named Bill.. vampire Bill. No, I have never heard of him. Mind you, I am very new to Bon Temp's - I just recently meant Sookie Stackhouse and I still don't understand why Pam has such an interest in her"
Yes, it was quite true. Brandy was still getting bits and pieces of information. Had people of mentioned it, she wouldn't of heard anyway - usually she was too busy thinking about Sam to hear any of the rumors floating around her.
"He's nice...well, most of the time. He's not like some Vampires around here."
"I've only met Pam. She is.. intriguing, and I have a lot of respect for a woman that holds so much power in a room. She was intrigued by me being a witch, and we had some intense conversation. I thought she might of been your maker. But, can you tell me why she is so interested in Sookie? I feel like I missing out on something important.."

Jessica raised her eyebrows at BB's mentioning of Pam. Could Pam be the Vampire BB doesn't like? Jessica wondered. "I think there's something about Sookie that attracts Vampires..." She said simply, remembering how Eric also showed obvious interest in Sookie. "Louisiana vampires that is." She didn't think, she knew but Jessica wasn't going to go blurting out Sookie's secret to someone she just met. Yup, Pam is definitely the one. Jessica thought again. "No, Pam is definitely not my maker. She can barely stand me." She said, then laughed. It was true, Pam constantly called Jessica annoying or a synonym of that adjective.

"I think there's something about Sookie that attracts Vampires..."
"Really? I thought there was something about Sookie that attracts pretty much every man on the planet"
Brandy couldn't help but to offer a cheeky smirk at that. But no, it was something else. Brandy could feel it. She wasn't a witch, she wasn't a vampire.. so what was Sookie Stackhouse?
. "No, Pam is definitely not my maker. She can barely stand me."
"Really? Well, I like you. I like you and I like Pam. So hey, I guess best of both worlds right? So, another question I guess.. is that Trublood stuff really that satisfying? I mean.. bottled blood seems kinda like - making a meat - eater a vegetarian."

Jessica smiled. "That's very nice of you." She said. "Thanks, I like you too." She smiled again and then said, "Yeah, it is the best of both worlds...in a sense." Jessica contemplated her answer for BB's next question. "Actually, it takes some getting used to, Tru Blood that is. I said it tasted like s*it when Bill first made me drink it but then I found a flavor I liked and so, I'm sticking to that." She smiled in rememberance and then laughed. "That's a good simile, it's definitely something like that when you first try it."

" Actually, it takes some getting used to, Tru Blood that is. I said it tasted like nuts when Bill first made me drink it but then I found a flavor I liked and so, I'm sticking to that."
"You mean different blood types have different flavors? I wonder if blood tastes different if it is from a witch, but I don't plan on sacrificing myself so that you can tell me!"
Brandy laughed softly, she had never thought about it till that point. What if her blood did taste different, would it have any different effect on vampires? Would it make them more powerful than usual or would it make them more sick? Or maybe it would do nothing at all?
"That's a good simile, it's definitely something like that when you first try it."
"Oh, you mean the vegetarian thing. Well yeah, people who eat meat do it because they enjoy it. I mean, I hate to say it but that Trublood just couldn't compare to the real thing. I mean, I'm no vampire but, it just makes sense."

Jessica nodded then laughed. "Yeah, there's Type O, A negative, B positive, which I prefer, etc, etc. I think if someone is something more than human, such as a telepath or something, then their blood would taste different from the regular human." She nodded again. "Yup, I mean the vegetarian thing. No, Tru Blood does not compare to real human blood, not by a long shot." She was surprised at how informed BB was about supes, probably because of her being one herself. Only once had Jessica actually drank human blood and that was when she was barely a night old, as Eric called it, and Eric himself took Jessica to show her how real Vampires feed, none of that main-streaming nonsense. She remembered it quite well an could still taste it.

. "Yeah, there's Type O, A negative, B positive, which I prefer, etc, etc. I think if someone is something more than human, such as a telepath or something, then their blood would taste different from the regular human.
Oh of course, telepath's. She always forgot about those, she had a hard time trying to deal with someone who could read her mind. How do you not think of something so that someone doesn't hear it? And how would you turn something like that off? Sometimes she wondered if it was better to just be in your own little world.
"Yup, I mean the vegetarian thing. No, Tru Blood does not compare to real human blood, not by a long shot."
"Yeah, it is like handing someone a steak-flavored vitamin and telling them they have to live on it because they aren't allowed to eat meat anymore. But, to its credit, it did open up the world a bit so that human's aren't.. so afraid anymore."
If Brandy wasn't who she was, wasn't raised the way she was.. she might of been a bit scared by the whole idea of vampires. Not all, she knew, were as friendly as Jessica.
"It is getting late, I might have to call it a night soon. Where do you usually hang out? Maybe I will run into you again sometime - - "
