Lafayette noticed Summer stop but he put on a smile. "Yeah, I's get what you mean. You's were drunk as a skunk?" He laughed at his own rhyme. "I's know how that feel, hookah. It feel motherf**kin' good!" He said loudly then looked around making sure no one but Summer heard that. Lafayette was relieved to see that they were the only occupants of the back of Merlotte's.

Summer couldn't help but laugh. His enthusiasm and fun character was infectious. Summer nodded with a huge grin. "Yeah, completely out of it. Didn't even know where I was or how the f*ck I got there. Ain't had a night out like that in years."
Summer's smile faded. "Look, thanks again. You saved my ass and now I owe you one. So here" Summer handed Lafayette a small scrap of paper. "It's my cell number, so when you need a favour. Call me and I'll see what I can do."

"Well if you's ever need a good time, hit me up honeycone." He said and then was caught completely off guard when she handed him her number. This was a first for Lafayette, usually older men or just men would be giving him their number. "Why thank ya." He took the piece of paper, folded it and put it in his pocket. "I's glad you have my back." He said and smiled again.

Summer smiled at him. "Well, it was nice to meet you and thanks again." she threw Lafayette a mock look of fear. "Time to go talk to Sam." she turned to walk back inside the bar and to find the rather irritable Sam Merlotte.
A stroke of luck, or coincidence had Summer walking past Sam's office just as he was coming out of the door. He threw Summer a look, he wasn't happy and didn't look like he was much for conversation of any kind. Summer was undeterred.
"Sam!" Summer called out to the bar owner. "C'mere a minute"

"Sam! C'mere a minute"
Summer's voice was like nails down a blackboard for Sam at this particular time. He wasn't much in the mood for socialising, least of all with an annoyingly perky Werewolf.
"What is it?" he snapped back at her. "I'm not in the mood for your sh*t Summer, so please just go the f*ck away" he threw her a sour look. Sam's mind was in utter turmoil and his stupid spineless behaviour cost him the one woman who could have made him truly happy.

"What is it? I'm not in the mood for your sh*t Summer, so please just go the f*ck away"
Sam just roared at Summer. She took a step back and rolled her eyes at him. Male posturing was so dull sometimes. At least have the deceny to get naked and roll around in oil. Then it'd at least be entertaining.
"Step the f**k down there cowboy." Summer put her hand up as a barricade between the two, daring him to come closer. "Just what is your major malfunction Captain Plaid? I only came here to say hi. I certainly hope you're not being all broody and macho around Brandy"
Summer couldn't help but smirk. Baiting Sam was cruel, but fun. He was such an easy mark for her.

Sam stood there teetering on the brink of exploding in a fit of anger. Summer pushed the wrong buttons with him and tonight was no different. Except tonight was worse. He just wanted to shift into a Kodiak bear and maul her on the spot. Brandy was an especially sore point.
Sam leaned his body forward, his face inches from Summers. "What business is it of yours anyway?" his lips curled into a sneer. "Just mind your own d**n business Summer." Sam turned back towards his door and made way to go back into his office. The mention of Brandy by Summer made him angry and sullen.
"Just go away Summer. Please." his words were low and shaky. The anger had subsided and all that was left was his wounded pride.

Summer's smile subsided as Sam looked downtrodden, defeated. But not by her words. Something else was at the heart of this. Summer felt compelled to follow Sam into this office. "Sam?" she said his name slowly, quietly. "What...what's going on?"
Sam had his back to her, unable to turn around. His whole body was loose and lethargic. Summer's heart went out to him, for all her teasing of him. He was a good man and she didn't like seeing him like this. "Where's Brandy?"

Where's Brandy?
Sam heard Summer's words. He had his back turned to her, afraid to look at her. Afraid why? She barely knew Brandy. She barely knew Sam. But she had struck up a close bond with the Brandy and that could be a very powerful thing.
"She's gone." he said, his shoulders slumped. His voice distant. "I...I..." Sam's words trickled off. "I let her go." he leant forward and his balled fists struck the desk. "Her ex....he came to see me. Put thoughts into my head and now I've lost her."

Summer walked over towards Sam, shaking her hands at him. Holding them up in a Time Out fashion. "Wait, wait wait." she said stumbling on the words. "You did what? Are you out of your tiny f*cking mind?"
Summer smacked him upside the head. "You do NOT let a girl like that go. Like ever. You listened to her ex?" Summer rolled her eyes, but was secretly grateful Sam didn't turn round and swat her back. "Sam" Summer stood back, and her tone became less flippant. "He almost killed me. If I wasn't a Were, I'd have been a goner."
She took a hold of his arm gently, trying to turn her to face him. "You have to get her back, you know that right?"

"Nice to meet you too, hookah." He called after her, laughed at her expression of "fear" and then realized he was alone. Looking around him, Lafayette swiftly walked back into Merlotte's and heard Summer and Sam arguing. Shrugging his shoulders, he walked back to the kitchen and resumed his duties as short order cook.

Before he knew it, Summer was right up next to Sam. Flailing her arms and hands furiously. She even made the time out symbol with her hands. She really let him have it, even going so far as whacking him upside the head. "Ow!" he snarled in protest, rubbing the back of his head and glowering at her.
His face changed to one of shock, as Summer recounted her attack by Derek. Then guilt, though he had nothing to feel guilty about. Sam felt her hand on his arm and he turned himself to face Summer. Her eyes were determined and stubborn.
"You have to get her back, you know that right?"
Sam sadly shook his head. "She's gone, I don't know where. Aw man I screwed up." Sam rubbed his hands over his face, when the realisation really struck him. He looked into Summer's eyes. "Can you help me find her? Please."

"Can you help me find her? Please."
Sam's words were desperate and pained. Despite his stupidity at believing a manipulative Vampire and ex-boyfriend for that matter. Summer's heart went out to him and then she smiled a broad grin. "Well, I thought you'd never ask me, Sam."
She drummed her fingers on her chin as she formulated ideas in her head. "We should split up, we'll cover more ground that way. One shifts, one remains." her eyes widened at a further idea. "I'll stay as I am, you shift. My nose is better than yours anyway" she winked and threw him a mischevious look.
"So, what are we waiting for. Let's find Brandy."
