It had been two days since she was picked up from the side of the road, looking like some sort of desperate hooker. But she was thankful to be back to somewhat of her old spunky self, happy to be healing. Quick healing was one of the upsides of being a Were and it was times like this, Summer was most thankful. But there was someone else she wanted to thank. The person that helped her out when she needed it the most and she knew where she had to go.
The ride to Bon Temps from Shreveport was slow and riding her bike across the bumps and dips in the road niggled with Summer's healing rib. It wasn't long till she was at her desired destination though, so she could at least rest up for a bit when she got there.
The bike roared towards the Bar & Grill, the very same Bar & Grill that she ventured into a while back, when she was passing through to get to her new home of Shreveport. The same Bar & Grill that was owned by Sam Merlotte, and he was the guy she foolishly kissed in front of the whole place. Oh yeah, this was gonna be awkward. Especially now with he and Brandy getting so close.
Summer pulled her bike into the customer parking lot and put on the brakes. Gingerly she disembarked and took her keys out and slipped them into the back pocket of her tight fitting black jeans. She unzipped her leather riding jacket and let the cool air hit her before taking off her helmet and resting it in her left hand before taking a deep breath and walking into the infamous Merlotte's.
All eyes upon her, which wasn't unusual. This was something that happened in public places regularly. No-one seemed to recognise her. Yet.
Summer caught the arm of the red headed waitress, "Hey, I was wondering. Is a Lafayette working here tonight?" it was an innocent enough question. The red head smirked at her. "Yer back again huh? Well I don't think Lafayette is your type honey." Summer looked appauled. Why was it always a sex thing? Though she probably asked for that considering her last visit.
"No. I, look. Will you just go tell him Summer is here." Summer ignored the look the waitress was giving him. "Please." Summer added, it was always nice to have manners. Even if some people may not deserve them.
"Alright, alright!" she waved her hands in the air dramatically before throwing Summer a knowing grin. "Will I tell Sam you're here too?"
"That's not necessary. Just Lafayette....please." Summer rolled her eyes and found an empty stool at the bar, propping her helmet on the counter and watched as the red head scooted off as fast as she could.
Summer sat and waited.

Lafayette was in the usual place he was in when the bar and restaurant were open, the kitchen. Tonight he was making eggplant parmagiana and was cooking up the shrimp when Arlene arrived in front of the counter. "Ew, this motherf**ker smells nasty." He commented on the shrimp, not realizing she was there. "Huh?" Arlene asked. Lafayette turned to face her. "Oh, sorry. What's goin' on?" He asked, thankful to turn away from the shrimp.
"There's a lady named Summer out in the bar waiting for you." Arlene said simply, then walked away. Lafayette blinked, girls and women usually never asked for him unless they wanted to comment on his cooking. Shrugging his shoulders, Lafayette put down the knife he had been using, gave the shrimp an evil glare and walked out of the kitchen.
Rounding the corner, Lafayette saw Summer sitting there waiting. She looked familar. Oh d**n, she that hookah I helped the other night. His conscience reminded him and he strutted over. "Hey honeycone." He said, appearing in front of her and leaning against the bar counter. "How you doin'?" Lafayette noted that she looked very healed since the last time he saw her. This of course made him wonder whether or not she was something more then human.

The flamboyant short order cook came shimmying through from the kitchen and a glimmer of recognition seemed to hit him and leant across the bar counter and gave her a look.
"Hey honeycone! How you doin'?"
Summer smiled, he had such a way about him. "Hey Lafayette. I'm good, thanks. A little bruised, but I'll be fine." she gave him a serious look, "Listen, is there somewhere more private we can go? I don't really want my business to be the local gossip."
Summer smiled again as she caught Sam out of the corner of her eye. She gave him a small wave, but he didn't even respond. Summer was a little taken aback. She wondered what the hell she'd done to get that sort of offhandish treatment. Though he did look utterly miserable. Summer made a note to talk to him before she left for Shreveport. Maybe he was having a really bad day.
Summer turned back to Lafayette. "So? Can we?"

Lafayette also turned over to Sam to see that he was looking flat out miserable. Ignoring his boss, Lafayette turned back to Summer. "That's good. I's glad to hear that." He put on a nice smile, a smile that was hardly shown on his face. Usually he had a sexual or seductive smile on. He nodded and then continuing to ignore Sam, he walked from behind the bar and stood next to Summer. "We's can go out back or the kitchen." He suggested, his normal tone replaced with a new unfamiliar one.

Lafayette seemed genuinely pleased to see that Summer was faring better since they last met. It gave her a warm feeling, not many people were this nice to her and she could count her friends on one hand. Summer liked this guy, he seemed fun and mischevious. She liked that.
"We's can go out back or the kitchen."
Summer thought of the two options and weighed then up in her mind. "Out back is probably best." then a thought occured to her "Oh you won't get into trouble will you? I mean Sam looks in a real foul mood."

Sam was stomping about the back of the bar, his mood had gone downhill in a matter of mere hours. When he woke up and started the preparation for the day ahead, he was in the best mood possible. A beautiful girl who was crazy about him and life just seemed that it couldn't get any better.
Then he went face to face with Brandy's ex-boyfriend, now a Vampire. A very angry and jealous Vampire that put doubts into his head, where there really were none. None that mattered anyway. Having to tell her he needed time tore him up inside and he just wanted to crawl into a hole somewhere and let life pass him by.
But he had a business to run and the night was already in full swing, so he had to just get on with it and try not to think about the one he let slip through his fingers. His beautiful Brandy.
Sam tripped over a broom that was just laying out in the middle of the hallway and he cursed loudly. Worst. Day. Ever. He went outside to yell at whoever it was that left it laying out so dangerously, but his eyes caught a familiar face at the bar. Summer? Oh great. he turned away when she waved at him, he was so not in the mood for her games tonight.

Lafayette had never seen Sam like this and it freaked him out inside. What the f**k is wrong with him? He mentally asked himself before turning back to Summer. "Aight, is this way." He said and began to walk out of the bar. But then he stopped, he heard Sam curse, which was a definite first. "There is something wrong with that motherf**ker." Lafayette told himself and then turned back towards Sam. "One minute, hookah." He said and approached Sam cautiously. "Is you aight?" He asked, keeping his distance in case Sam tried to bite him verbally or something.

"Never been better." Sam replied with a scowl, eyeing Summer suspiciously. What was she doing with Lafayette and why were they disappearing out back on work time? "Where you goin'?" he asked with a sulk. Not that he would begrudge Lafayette anything, he was curious as to his connection with the Werewolf girl.

Lafayette agreed to take Summer out the back, but that meant going past his very frustrated and angry looking boss, Sam. Summer thought for a brief moment, that short moment of attraction she had to Sam but it was all for nought. He wasn't interested and it was time to move on. Summer wasn't the kind of girl to latch onto someone that wasn't into her. Deal with it and move on was her motto.
"One minute, hookah Lafayette broke her concentration, she raised an eyebrow at the strange way he addressed her, but realised this was his way and wasn't intended as an insult.
"Sure, no problem." She replied, standing well back from Lafayette and Sam.

Lafayette raised his dark eyebrows in a non-believing way. "I's going out back with that fine hookah so we can talk about how I helped her motherf**kin' life." He said and turned away from Sam, heading back over to Sam. Without a second glance, Lafayette opened the door and held it open allowing Summer to walk out into the fresh air.

Saved her life? Sam was confused and he hated to admit, but was a little intrigued. But he nodded, "Fine, just don't take too long. We're too busy for hold ups." Sam let them go, he kept his eyes on Summer. Just what in the hell was going on lately?
Sam stormed off towards the kitchen, to make sure Terry Bellefleur wasn't having some kind of PTSD anxiety attack and to make sure that all the orders were up to date. He knew he'd no doubt end up helping out till Lafayette got back, from whatever it was he was up to with Summer.

Lafayette rolled his eyes and walked back over to Summer. "Sorry 'bout that, honeycone. You's ready?" He said and once again held the back door open for Summer.

Summer gave Sam a look, "I'll get back to you" she pointed at him sternly and turned back to Lafayette who was gentlemanly holding the back door open for her. sorry 'bout that, honeycone. You's ready?"
Summer nodded to him and smiled. "Sure am." she nodded towards Sam. "I'll deal with him later." Summer walked outside, it wasn't the classiest or cleanest place to hold a conversation. But it was private and that was more important.
"Listen, Lafayette. I never got a chance to thank you the other night." she turned to face the doorway. "If you hadn't have came along, I'd have been sleepin rough." her eyes moved downward at the thought.

Lafayette had walked out after her, shutting the door loudly behind them. He leaned against the doorway, listening to Summer's thanks. "No problem, hookah. I's always a reliable motherf**ker." He said, giving her a rare sweet smile. "What happened to you's that night? If you's don't mind my asking."

Summer stopped for a moment. How was she supposed to answer that question? Couldn't be the truth, so something had to be made up on the spot. Something believable, even if it was potentially embarassing.
"Well, I uh." Summer gave a sheepish grin, "You know how it is. Girls night out, one too many margeritas and next thing ya know you're wakin' up in a ditch."
Summer hoped that'd be enough to keep him satisfied and quell his curiosity.
