Sam had woken up bleary eyed, realising he was laying on the sofa in the most uncomfortable position imaginable. He glanced at his watch. 10:15am. He sighed as he sat upright, looking around for Brandy. She was nowhere to be seen, but her scent was still lingering strongly. She was definetly still there.
Sam eased himself up and looked around his trailer. True enough, there Brandy was. Cosily tucked into bed, completely lost to sleep. He didn't want to wake her, so he went into the kitchen and scrawled a note for her to find.
Gone to Merlotte's to check the damage. If you need me I'll be over there. Love Sam
Sam pinned it to the refridgerator with a Merlotte's logo magnet he had made up especially. Turning out the trailer, he closed the door softly so as not to disturb Brandy.
Turning towards the main entrance of the bar, the door was unlocked. Sam sighed heavily and went inside, almost tripping over the empty glass bottles left laying all around. Not to mention a pair of royal blue panties just draped over the back of a chair. The place was a mess, an absolute disaster. Like a bomb had hit it.
Sam closed the door behind him and locked it. He couldn't open the bar with it looking like this. It needed properly cleaned and tidied and disinfected. Sam went into the stock room and brought out a box of black bin liners. He began stuffing random clutter into one and tied it up.
Sam sighed, he made his way into the kitchen to look for a mug. Bringing it back through he started the miraculously still working coffee machine. "Guess no-one wanted caffeine." he muttered angrily to himself.
As he waited on the coffee brewing, Sam surveyed the damage. It needed more than a clean, it needed completely reworked. But that could take days to arrange. Moreso if other properties and businesses suffered the same fate as Merlotte's.

"Nothing out of the ordinary, as it was just work as usual." Yeah, that was a popular phrase to live by and yet, there was something eating at Haylee. A sense of disbelief to conjuring up the phrase, though nothing was in her way to prove anything wrong this morning. So, why did she feel as if she had done something bad? Not a "slap on the wrist" kind of bad; something worse. That might be the best word to describe it; instead of leaving off with feeling "bad." Maybe if she just got to work and busied herself, then everything would be ok. That whatever she was feeling was REALLY nothing to worry about at all. It was kind of weird to feel this intense about something, when reaching the doors of the little hangout; having long since glanced at it's humble shell. Well, if that little moment of examining things was a "surprise," this is a new shocker.
As the doors wouldn't open for her. A first explanation might be that: The doors are stuck. Or they might be locked, for another explanation. Then again, if they were locked: The question would be as to "why." Perhaps it was a holiday of some sort? Or did Sam give everyone the day off? That she didn't fall into the "knowing," loop of-well, not coming into work today. Haylee then wondered if she'd be able to pay attention, the longer that she was standing upon the entrance, a new feeling arose. Guilt. What's wrong with me? Now speaking to erase the thought,"Uh, Sam? Anyone?"

"Uh, Sam? Anyone?"
The chirpy voice of Haylee disturbed Sam's thoughts. Haylee? Aw hell. He had to act normal, natural. There was no point in making the girl feel bad for something that was outwith her own control. Lying? Sure, but sometimes you have to lie to protect someone.
Sam walked over to the door and unlocked it. He put on a small smile, nothing to over the top so as to look out of character."Hey Haylee, I'm not planning on opening till later. Got some tidying up to do." he side stepped to show her the damage. Hoping there were no more stray pieces of underwear lying around.
"You want a coffee? I got some brewin'?" Sam asked motioning her to come inside.

Tidying? Wasn't it clean the other da- Her thought became interrupted as Sam moved, it was kind of like a showcase; distracting. Though, behind door number one is a whirlwind of disaster! As for the other doors, probably nothing appeasing either. "M-..mah lord, Sam! What happened?" The Texas twang in her voice had really risen to the occasion. Wow, it really looked as if a tornado had spun off within the middle of the room. That violently slang a number of random things, to the left and right within the beloved hangout. Just for a moment, it managed to distract her whenever entering inside.
It was nice for the said "moment" but it didn't last permanently as Sam mentioned coffee. A rather annoying reminder, to the feelings she couldn't explain. Not that Sam was annoying! Not at all. What she felt, wasn't his fault. There was no real reason for turning down the coffee, that Haylee nodded for a reply. Her eyes scan around for a place to sit, something safe. As it looked like something could break, just by staring at it; that's how bad it was. Leas in her opinion anyways. Now, if only she could have some kind of way to: Talk about what is bugging her. That would be a godsend.

"M-..mah lord, Sam! What happened?"
How to answer that one. Sam certainly couldn't answer it honestly. He imagined how the conversation would begin. Well, there was this huge big orgy... No, not a good idea. Sam tried desperately to think of an answer. Half-truth was better than nothing. "I don't have any idea at all. Prob'ly some gang passing through, tore the place up. Good thing I got insurance huh." Sam tried his best, though he knew it was pretty lame.
Sam pointed to the barstools. "Best to sit there for now. Least till I get this place presentable for letting folks in." Sam walked over to the bar and realised he only had one mug sitting on the countertop.
He hurried into the kitchen to grab another one and back into the front. He looked over at Haylee, she looked understandably nervous. It wasn't fair to dump everything on her. He just needed a distraction tactic.
"So, how would you like a few days off later?"

A gang, did all of this!? Her thought seemed a little shocked, where as her eyebrow rose a slight bit and wriggled. Merlotte's seemed like a safe enough place, that something like this didn't seem real. Whenever Sam pointed toward a couple of barstools, Haylee glanced upon them before having a seat. Trusting Sam whenever he noted it was best to sit there, at least for right now; untill all the mess was cleaned up. "Why would anyone do such a thing?" She really didn't have an answer of her own, gently sighing when peeking around more, trying to see if she missed anything. Then of course, upon hearing Sam's voice again, she became distracted.
By that point, her eyebrow more or less was arched, A few days off? At first glance, it seemed TO GOOD to be true. Then again, "I don't know if I'd deserve it or not." Now seemed as good of a time as any, to just ease into what's bothering her. It couldn't bottle up anymore, which she felt a little frustrated for. Just dumping this on Sam; a little ironic. "I feel like I did something horrible, only I can't remember what." She wondered if that made her a bad person. What kind of normal person would say something like that? No one, right?

"Why would anyone do such a thing?" Haylee was understandibly shocked and appauled at what Sam said had happened. Sam threw on his best bewildered face. "I really don't know. Some people just do irresponsible and crazy things." Sam could have kicked himself. That was too close to the truth.
"I don't know if I'd deserve it or not."
"Of course you do. We all do. Just trust me and take a few days off. Do things you want to do. It won't be for a while anyway. I gotta call a contractor to assess the damage and go through a few things."
That was true. Sam was 1-1 in the honesty stakes. Not bad odds, though he was sure before the afternoon arrived the balance would be tipped in the favour of deceit.
"I feel like I did something horrible, only I can't remember what."
Sam frowned, he wasn't quite sure how to respond to this. He gave her a comforting look. "I'd not worry about it. There was something affecting the water supply or something. Seems to have caused a huge problem. Everything seems to have righted itself, just take it easy for a few days. It'll work itself out."

Some people just do irresponsible and crazy things. Haylee thought, or technically "reviewed" a little bit of what Sam had stated. It seemed like the perfect explanation, to a otherwise confusing moment in time. Nothing to far fetched and there was one other thing, that Haylee liked about Sam's commenting. He wouldn't lie to her. Though, when getting back to a phrase of "irresponsible and crazy," it made Haylee think of her father. Whenever her mother was still alive, she didn't give the subject of him much thought. Now, with her no longer around, a few times there were thoughts about him. The said phrase seemed to describe him, ah-she should just get a grip. Blinking once Sam had noted that: She did indeed deserve some time off, in fact, everyone did.
Why? Briefly thinking and eerily on cue, a answer was given. Sam needed a contractor, to go through the damage and to look at other things as well. No doubt that would take time, which sort of made sense as to why a few days off were needed. Supposedly there was something affecting the water supply? Boy, for a small and sleepless town: A lot could happen. Kind of ironic, being that she was warned about it having danger too. It just didn't look like it could. This sort of proved otherwise. Sam's advice was to: Take it easy, things would workout and everything will be ok. Still, "Its just that I never felt like that before." Noting awkwardly before glancing around for a coffee to drink.

"Its just that I never felt like that before."
"I can't imagine how disorienting it is for you. But maybe if you relax and try not to stress or dwell over it, you'll remember or at least not worry so much about it." Sam dearly hoped she would never remember. Not for himself, but for Haylee. She was a sweet kid and innocent - literally - as she so plainly told him in her Maryann induced madness. She didn't need to feel bad or worry for her job, not that Sam would ever fire her. She was a good employee and the customers adored her. Sam had grown fond of Haylee too.
"About time for that coffee I reckon." Sam turned to the machine and poured some into the two mugs. He turned to Haylee, "You know I have no idea what you take in your coffee." he half smiled. It was such a small, simple thing but he felt so silly asking it.

Disorienting? Try it being a nightmare, with the kind of unknowing feeling that she had. Hopefully she would remember, as to have nothing to worry about. Ironically, if she did know the truth, she'd feel a million times worse. Even though it really wasn't her fault to begin with, Maryann charmed a lot of people. Sam was probably right, about the advice that he'd given. "I hope so, Sam. Maybe that way, I'll remember. N' I'll try no to go bonkers in the meantime! Haylee then gently nodded her forehead toward Sam's comment about coffee, that it was about time. A little bit, right around now would be a pick-me-up as she answered the question. "A little bit of creamer with two sugars."
Although, now feeling a little sheepishly; mainly for how she took her coffee. It seemed like a hassle but she loved sweet things. Nothing short of amazing to never have a cavity, she was lucky on that front. She wondered how Sam took his coffee, like a typical guy or just like a normal Joe. With some kind of sweet taste to it. As a typical guy would just drink it the way it came. Totally gross. Yet, to each to their own. In the meanwhile, she wondered on how her friends were doing, a deal with a vampire seemed like a eternity's worth.

"A little bit of creamer with two sugars."
Sam smiled and gave Haylee a look. "Same as me then." Sam turned back to the coffee machine and poured out the hot black liquid. Poured cream into the two mugs and added the sugar, stirring them quickly. "Here y'go." Sam handed over Haylee's coffee to her. "Hope it's okay for ya."
Sam took a slow sip from his mug and let a small satisfied sigh pass his lips. Very few things could beat a warm mug of coffee in the morning. One of the best pick-me-ups ever and right now he needed it more than anything else. There was so much work to be done before Sam could even think about opening the bar to the public.
He was so troubled and confused, but up until now he managed to keep it all hidden. But sitting here, with a friend over coffee. It all started to hit him slowly. He felt he was losing his mind, losing everything. His brow furrowed and he felt his hands rub on the bridge of his nose.

"Really?" Haylee chirped a small tad, when learning that she had something in common with Sam. Er-also her boss, was the way he took coffee; same as her and no different. Or so it appeared, which felt interesting as well as comforting. Especially in a moment like this one, the fresh brew could play a part as well. Although, whenever she managed to grasp onto the cup's handle: All she could do was stare. It felt so familiar and yet it there was just a blank; odd. It was probably nothing, as Haylee tried to smile and to gently sip the brew. "Its ok." Despite feeling she had problems of her own, she wondered if Sam had any problems. The furrowing brow and nose, the bridge had been comforted. Maybe it was stress from the condition of the bar, that would be enough to bother anyone. Or, what if: It was more? "Something wrong, Sam?"

"Something wrong, Sam?"
That was such a loaded question for Haylee to ask. What was wrong? A demi-Goddess had taken over the town, his girlfriend had been beaten to near death and healed by a psychotic Vampire and now they were bonded by his blood. How do you condense that? Especially to an employee who may not even have had any dealings with Vampires, least he hoped not.
"I don't know Haylee." Sam sighed and took a small sip of his coffee. Sam founf it difficult to confide in people at the best of times. Now with this hanging over his head, he felt like he had to tell someone or else he'd go insane. "This may sound completely nuts."

You don't know? Haylee thought whenever Sam had stated a comment, which felt pretty unsure as he sighed. She hoped that IF he had something bothering him, it wasn't all to bad. It wasn't easy to accept that: Bad things just "happen" to good people. Now opting to take another sip of her coffee, no need to let it go cold. Despite having a feeling of complete blankness about it, the smell was still soothing. She should at least enjoy it. Shouldn't she? Haylee then tried to focus on something else, instead of just reviewing a old feeling. She REALLY needed to just get over this hurdle, the sooner the better. Haylee blinked whenever Sam had spoken again, noting that something may sound a little "nuts." Whatever he had to say, it couldn't be THAT bad. Could it? "What is it, Sam?"

Sam put his mug down on the bar counter and looked up at Haylee. Sam knew what he was about to say would sound weird at best. Insane at worst. But he had to tell someone and Haylee was the trustworthy sort.
"I don't know where to begin..." he paused trying to collect himself. "There's been some problems, with Brandy and I. She got hurt, really badly hurt and she got mixed up with a Vampire." It was all rolling out now, Sam was struggling to keep laying tracks down for his runaway train. "He...he healed her and now she's bonded to him and now I feel like I'm losing her."
Sam leant back on the opposite counter top, his body limp in defeat. He looked to Haylee curiously, she was either going to understand completely or run for the hills. Or call Bud Dearborne to have him taken away to an institution.
