If you have read the books or seen the TV show, you would know about these fierce creatures. Just to make sure that everyone understands what it means to be a vampire, please keep these in mind:
If you have any questions, feel free to PM myself or Sookie and we will try and answer them as best as we can.
- Daytime is fatally contagious if a vampire is stays under the sun for too long, this means vampires are limited to only Nocturnal events.
- While they are able to find attractions to humans, even date them, a vampire’s will is more powerful than their heart, so a vampire that strictly does not feed on anything and becomes what Twilight has named ‘a vegetarian’, that’s bull and not a vampire.
- Vampires are stronger and faster than humans, so they can outrun any human
- A vampire’s fangs will extract when they are aroused, hungry or excited.
- Vampires can cry, but they cry blood.
- Just like humans, vampires must feed in order to build up their strength and cannot go much longer than humans can without their food.
- By looking into a vampire’s eyes, a human can be glamored, but no vampire can glamor another vampire.
- Vampires will not shrivel up and die when contact with silver or garlic is made, however, they have quite an allergic reaction.
- Vampires sleep in the ground or in coffins, so sleep overs with humans hardly ever happen. Unless they stay at a decked out vampire hotel that caters to these needs. They just must stay away from the sun during the day so they sleep anywhere away from it.
- When you are bitten by a vampire, you remain the age of when you were bitten, so if you were bitten when you were 16, you may be 2,016 but you’ll still look like a minor to everyone else and possibly arouse some legal problems about vampire age vs. human age.
- Giving blood to a hurt human can aid the healing process and make it go faster, but it does not turn a human into a vampire. Though it will build a connection with the human and said vampire, a connection that differs in everyone. Sharing blood many times has rarely occurred and we do not yet know what that will breed relationship/connection wise.
- Blood can be exchanged between a vampire and a human with bites and healing requests
- In order to make a vampire, all of the blood from the victim must be drained and then replaced with the maker’s blood. Then they must be buried in the ground with the maker (according to Bill/Jessica creation) until they rise the next night.
- A vampire’s maker will always be stronger than their creation.
- Since vampires are told not to feed on humans and purely use True Blood, they do not feed in public.
- Killing another vampire is subject to punishment
- Each area has a sheriff and every vampire of that area must be loyal to their sheriff
- Vampire’s minds cannot be read, but if a vampire has tasted the blood of a human, they know when certain feelings around aroused in their human.
- They are immune to any form of STD except for Hepititis D, which causes the vampire to be ill for a few months
- A vampire will die if they have had:
- Too long of an exposure to the sun
- A stake through the heart
- If they have been drained
- Too long of an exposure to the sun
- Vampires will not die, but will be wounded through these techniques
- Contact with silver (acts like fire, burning through a vampire’s skin)
- Not feeding for long periods of time (they will become severely weak, but some punishments include remaining in a coffin bound by silver for years without feeding)
- Garlic (it is not as severe as the rest, but it is annoying to vampires)
- Contact with silver (acts like fire, burning through a vampire’s skin)
- Vampires have their own set of politics and finances, separate from humans, although they must comply with human law now that they are out of the coffin, or keep it secret when they do break the law.
