Demitrius had taken to wandering through the woods around Bon Temps at night, lately. He had decided a few weeks ago, while vacationing in New Orleans, that he would try doing good deeds in a tiny town, and work his way up to saving huge cities-- superhero style-- when he had gotten some practice.
But, there wasn't much going on in Bon Temps.
Vampires glared at other vampires, and Weres growled at other Weres. Demitrius wasn't sure whether helping vampires or weres in their fights was a good deed, so he decided to abstain from both, and focus on humans. Humans weren't doing a whole lot, either, just wandering around with blank looks on their faces.
Demitrius was moving quickly and quietly through the woods, listening to the natural sounds around him, and the unnatural, though barely perceptible, sounds of whatever was pursuing him. He was almost surprised at his own speed-- especially since he was currently wearing five-inch white heels; He was able to easily outrun his pursuer most of the time, but, eventually Demitrius grew tired of running, and moved towards the edge of the forest. As the trees thinned, he saw a house, which was still lit. It was very late, and he was curious as to why its occupant was still awake. He took a step forward; the thing watching him moved a little, as though it were going to impede his path. Demitrius ignored it for now. The scent had touched his nostrils, and he was enthralled.
He carefully exited the forest, so enamored by the sweet odor pervading his nostrils that he actually scraped his arm against a tree. The swan feather coat he was wearing was basically ruined; the feathers stuck out on that side, now, and there was a large hole. The skin, however, was as fine as ever. In fact, where the tree scraped skin, the bark was stripped.
Demitrius paused before exiting the woods and turned to look in the general direction of the being that was clearly guarding the house.
"If you wish to stop me from approaching this house, you are welcome to try. However, I would prefer not to do violence tonight. But, should you even attempt to lay a single finger upon me, I will stain each and every last tree in this wood with your blood, even if it takes a week. Then, I will kill you. Your choice." he said, his voice smooth and light.
He waited only a moment before stepping out into the clearing. As he approached the house, the smell grew stronger, and Demitrius finally recognized it.
Faerie.
It was very faint-- not pure fae, but it was enough. He hadn't noticed he was crying until he heard a sizzle. He looked down to see his tear burning its way into the ground. He caught the next tear on his finger and stared at it. Not since Culpano. He approached the house, his eyes closed as he explored with his senses. Even with that tiny drop of faerie scent, he could almost remember Home.
He reached the porch, and lowered himself into a chair nearby. He opened his eyes and stared out into the night. He felt comfortable here; it was an unusual feeling.

Sookie was just getting off work, it was a rough night. It seemed everyone in Bon Temps was there, but no real big gossip was happening. Other than the big Halloween party, which was the hot topic for the night. It was quite funny for Sookie to see everyone's thoughts about costumes. It was weird that the costumes came to her as images not thoughts. This kept her sane for the night, especially Jason thinking about Andy in a dress. Classic. Sookie was very tired and still had to do her laundry since she had to go out tomorrow before work and would not be able to get it done.
She pulled up into her driveway, nice paved driveway, thanks to Eric. "Ugh Eric" she said aloud but thought to herself Yummy, Eric. It was a terrible thing, having taken Eric's blood, she was always on the fence. She loved him, she loved him not! With Eric on the brain, she grabbed her purse and got out of the car. Since Eric was on her mind, she was not very aware of her surroundings as she walked up the stairs and onto her porch. As she got to the door, brought out her keys, she looked over and saw a strange man sitting on her porch which of course caused her to scream in fear. "Oh My Word! Who are you? What the hell!?" She yelled as she reached in her purse for her mase and made sure it was on her silver key chain. What was this person doing here? She was positive she had never in her life seen him, ever. She quickly backed down her stairs still looking at him, making sure to have distance in case he tried to attack. But why would someone try to attack her sitting on her porch? No matter, she was still scared and had her car keys and silver key chain with mase in hand, just in case.

Demitrius had been sitting on the porch, taking in the fae scent, and trying to remember what it was like to be a Fae. He reached behind his head and released the tight bun pinned there. With a quick shaking of his hand to loosen the hair, a jet black sheet of slightly curled hair fell down over his shoulders and the back of the chair, nearly to his waist.
Running his fingers through the strands, he looked over at the moon, and smiled. His eyes slid closed and, immediately, he felt the lunar energy wash over his body. He felt his very cells begin to vibrate from the blissful reaction with the moon energy. His fun, new experiment ended abruptly when he heard a car pull onto the road, some distance away. His eyes slowly, reluctantly opened, and he finally built up the curiosity to turn his head as the car pulled into the driveway.
Being a naturally still pers-- well, being, Demitrius did not move at all as he watched the young woman get out of her car and come towards the porch. He was sure she had glanced at him at least once on her way towards the porch, but being apparently deep in thought, she may have thought he was a very unusually shaped package, or maybe she hadn't seen him at all.
Had he become invisible? It wouldn't have been the first time his powers expanded with his noticing. He glanced down at his hands to make sure he was still there, as the young --blonde, he noticed-- came up the steps, digging in her purse for her house keys. Demitrius, being cure he was still there, looked up at the woman, just as she looked at him. He smiled a little.
She unleashed a scream that shook the floorboards.
"Oh My Word! Who are you? What the hell!?"
He stared at her, wondering which statement to answer as she pulled a keychain with...was that Mase? on it out of her (very cute) purse.
Oh my word? I think that's a Southern expression meaning that she is surprised and frightened. I didn't think I looked that threatening, this evening. I'm wearing heels. That leaves the two questions to answer.
He watched her with the same smile on his face as he watched her scurry backwards. He tried desperately to suppress his amusement at her reaction, but failed as he first snorted, then burst into laughter. His voice, even his laughter, was rich and rang like a bell. After a few moments, the laughter subsided, and Demitrius stood. (Slowly, so the young woman wouldn't be frightened and unleash her deadly weapon)
Once he had raised himself to his full height of six feet, seven inches-- five of those inches being augmented by the pumps-- he bent into a deep curtsy, letting his long hair fall about him. He raised up, smiling broadly to reveal straight, white teeth. Well, straight with the exception of what would be canines in humans. They had not been filed flat, and were as long and sharp as a vampire's.
"Demitrius Oronra. I am not at your service, as this particular manner of introduction usually suggests. But I am here, which is almost as good. Oh, and to answer your second question, "What the hell?" I am not from hell. I have never even been there. I came because your house smelled good. Now I know the source of the scent. What is your name, miss honey?" he said.

Sookie was in full shock now. This guy was huge. Terribly huge. He towered over her and she thought she was a bit tall for her age and for a girl. But, fear set in. He was unusual and not someone she knew or heard of through the grapevine. He was not a Louisanna native for sure. Sookie could not help but hold tight to her mase, hoping it would work against this guy. But why was he here, what was he? The mase tight in hand and keys held, but suddenly she heard him reply. And she did not expect to hear it at all.
He was what Sookie liked to call, a smartass or a wise crack. His tone just seemed superior and unwelcoming. Smelled good? What? she thought to herself as she was trying to take in all he just said. He sure did not make her feel very comfortable, hence the still staying off the pourch and not near him. Not at my service, not from hell?, what this just some kind of sick joke. Was Pam or Eric doing this? Could Eric sense Sookie's fear right now? Taking in deep heaps of fresh outside country air, Sookie replied.
"Smelled good? What in the world?" She said back to him but more to herself, like an out loud thought. She was doing some laundry, did he like the smell of Tide Spring Fresh? "I still do not know who the hell you are and why you are here at my house at night. If you are here at my house, shouldn't you know my name?" She said, not wanting to just say. 'Hi, Im Sookie Stackhouse, its a pleasure to have you here at my house tonight scaring the crap out of me.' Sookie grabbed her cell phone from her purse and opened it up, ready to text someone; Jason, Eric, Pam, for help if need be.

Demitrius observed Sookie's reaction to his standing, and instantly thought it was a bad idea.
"I'm not really that tall..." he muttered, displaying the white mega-pump.
Then it occurred to him how very strange the young woman's reaction was. He had yet to face a human who wasn't immediately enthralled by his otherworldlyness. Not only was he extremely tall (even without the heels) but he had an unusual tone of dark skin, which did not immediately point to a particular race. He was beautiful in a non-conventional way, which did not immediately inspire lust in humans, but always fearful adoration at least.
As he observed her with his alien, blue eyes, he realized that she had barely noticed him at all. It was as though he were a regular human that was hanging around another regular human's porch. But, he was nowhere near a regular human, and apparently she wasn't either, or she'd be fawning by now.
He could tell by her scent that she wasn't a full faerie, but she had a couple of drops somewhere in there. And a little of something else. His nose itched from all the smells. He let his senses explore as she frowned and considered some things in her head.
Oh, she was giving him a dirty look again. And talking to herself? Demitrius started to pay attention.
"I still do not know who the hell you are and why you are here at my house at night. If you are here at my house, shouldn't you know my name?"
"Oh. I'm Demitrius, remember? I smelled a nice smell coming from over here, so I came to investigate. I didn't know it was your house, and i'd like to know your name. We can't be friends if we don't even know each other's names. And the Mase isn't helping, either."
He watched the girl digging through her purse as he talked. He turned and snatched up his own sling bag, and pulled a small-stone tennis bracelet he bought in Shreveport from a pocket and held it out to her. She had drawn a cell phone.
"Um. Peace offering?" he said, smiling again.
He figured that she wasn't offering the phone as a peace offering, but was getting ready to call for the police, or something else, that he couldn't avoid without bloodshed. His brow lowered into a tiny frown, but his smile didn't waver. The arm with the bracelet lowered a little.
"Unnecessary." he said, his voice was more brisk than he meant, "There's something in the woods watching over you, right now. I think it's a vampire, so you are quite safe."
He hesitated, unsure if the lie he was about to tell would help him, or make everything worse. He looked from the phone into her eyes.
"I am no match for a vampire."

Sookie took in a deep breath. Was this a trap? Was he really giving her a peace offering? Sookie was well seasoned in plots and ploys to get her or others into situations that would prove to be a situation that caused some pain. Not just emotional pain but broken bones. And in turn those broken bones cause Sookie to intake vampire blood. And this vampire blood made her stronger yes, but it also made her closer to the vampires. That fact scared her, but she talked of it as much as a kleptomaniac admits to stealing.
In her deep breath she assessed the situation. He seemed nice enough. But nice can be fake, a ploy to kidnap someone. He actually said that the smell of her house lured him in. How could that be? She was an avid cleaner, but why would that bring someone. Sookie could tell he was not human and the fact that he said he was no match for a vampire implied that he must not be a vampire himself and that if he were a shifter, he was weak. All these thoughts and the deep breath caused her to put the phone back in her purse followed by the mase and took another breath.
Maybe she would just let him in. After all, it seemed someone was protecting her. Bill most likely. He did that often. Not too close considering their lack of dating and not to far considering he still wanted her to be safe.
"Ok. Ok!" Sookie said as she looked at the bracelet. Why would someone give a braclet. He must have been a nice guy or thing. "Ill calm down. Since you are adamant that you bring no harm, that I smell apealing to you and that you really want to be friends." Sookie smiled at him and at the fact he said they could not be friends unless he knew her name. She walked up the stairs, got her keys out and unlocked the door. She turned around after she unlocked the door and spoke. "I Miss Sookie Stackhouse. It's nice to meet you Demitrius." She looked at his tall body and sighed. "I am going to invite you inside because I am thirsty, I want to get out of my work clothes and I need to finish my laundry. I am confident that you are not going to kill me right?" She asked as she opened the door and walked it, holding open the screen for him to follow.

The faerie drop stared at him, and heaved a deep breath. Demitrius smiled grandly and raised the tennis bracelet to her ear level. She was clearly thinking hard about something. Her inner struggle looked so interesting that he wished for a moment that he was telepathic.
Nevermind. he thought immediately. I wouldn't wish that on anyone.
Demitrius's eyes wandered a little, and he spied movement in the trees behind Sookie. Ew. Vampire bodyguard. At least he thought it was a vampire bodyguard. Demitrius squinted to try and 'zoom in' on the peeper, but Sookie had suddenly returned her weaposn to her purse. Demitrius's weird eyes widened with glee as he watched her take another deep breath.
He watched her eyes fall on the glittering bracelet. He moved it a little closer to her.
"Ok. Ok! Ill calm down. Since you are adamant that you bring no harm, that I smell appealing to you and that you really want to be friends." She finally smiled. She was very pretty when she did that. Demitrius waited for a moment as he watched her turn towards the door.
Nope. Not interested. Not even in faerie drops. When she had unlocked the door she turned to look at him.
"I'm Miss Sookie Stackhouse. It's nice to meet you Demitrius."
If it were possible, his grin broadened and he bounced a little with happiness. The tennis bracelet tinkled as it shook around. She examined him carefully, though not to take in his alien beauty, he noticed, but to ascertain the level of threat. She sighed again. He assumed she concluded "Threat Level : High."
"I am going to invite you inside because I am thirsty, I want to get out of my work clothes and I need to finish my laundry. I am confident that you are not going to kill me right?"
"If I were, couldn't I have done it when you first came up? When I was sitting, and you didn't notice me? That would have been the best time."
He bounced silently past her and looked around at the house; the hand holding the bracelet was still extended. He stopped suddenly as he looked up at the ceiling. He heaved a dramatic gasp.
"Ooh!!" he grunted.
Without further comment, he strolled towards the kitchen. He paused at the door way and looked at his outstretched hand. The glittering bracelet was still there.
"Oh. What are you still doing here? Sooook-aaayee?" he said, over-extending the vowels in an attempt to pronounce her name with an effected Southern dialect.
He turned and smiled at her, offering the bracelet.
"You forgot your friendship bracelet. Look." he gestured for her to come closer, then lowered his face to closely examine the precious item.
"Real diamonds. Aren't they beautiful, Soook-eee?"
His bright blue eyes sparkled along with the diamonds as he gazed at the bracelet with a look of pure joy. Slowly, his eyes rose to rest on Sookie's face.
"Take it. It's for you."

Sookie walked in, not forgetting that this could be a potentially bad situation. But the needs for getting a drink, out of work clothes and laundry consumed her at the moment. This Demitrius was pretty perky, like Sookie after all the vampire blood. He looked around her house with excitement, a kind of excitement that made Sookie want to giggle. "Well, yes, that would have been the best time to kill me." She replied as she continued to watch his dancing around and headed to the kitchen. Was he new to houses? He did not look to be a homeless person and Bon Temps did not have that many homeless either. Hell, they did not have any. His hand was still extended with the 'friendship necklace'.
Sookie watched him frolic around the house until he came into the kitchen and finally stopped. She was reaching to get a bottled water, took it out and took a big sip as she listened. As she swallowed, she reached out and took the bracelet.
It could be some magical item to kill her or some tracking device, but hell, if he was gonna kill her she would already be gone. "It is rather beautiful, yes. I guess I will keep it. As our friendship bracelet" She said as she looked at its beautiful diamonds and was just flat out curious. "Why would you give me something like this? I mean, diamonds? This is worth money!" She said wildly. "Oh and what do you mean what am I still doing here? I live here! This is my Gran's house and she left it to me!" She got a bit emotional saying that, it was still hard to deal with. "By the way, do you want something to drink?" She asked, as it was the southern polite thing her Grandmother taught her to do, always.

If it were possible, Demitrius's smile widened even further when Sookie reached out and took the bracelet. He raised up to his full height and looked as pleased as punch.
"It is rather beautiful, yes. I guess I will keep it. As our friendship bracelet"
Demitrius clapped his hands and bounced in place, heels clicking noisily as he did. He slowed and his smile faltered a little at her expression as she more closely examined the gift.
"Why would you give me something like this? I mean, diamonds? This is worth money!"
Demitrius looked puzzled and a little amused. "Of course it's worth money! It's worth a lot of money. Five carats. White gold. Aout four-thousand, if i'm remembering correctly. What kind of friend would I be if I just gave you any old thing? Not a good one, i'd wager! But, put it on, put it--"
Demitrius was suddenly cut off as Sookie seemed to recall something and rounded on him.
"Oh and what do you mean what am I still doing here? I live here! This is my Gran's house and she left it to me!"
Demitrius's smile left his face. His expression darkened only a little. He stepped back and pushed himself up, to sit a countertop. He turned his head a little to one side as he observed her in silence for a second.
"...By the way, do you want something to drink?"
"Water. Hold the lemon, thank you. And, I wasn't talking to you, when I said that. I was talking to the bracelet. I was asking why it was... in my hand... and not... on your wrist."
He looked a little embarrassed and looked away from her, towards a spot on the floor. He focused on that spot for a moment, and frowned. Without looking back at Sookie, he spoke to her. He did not look concerned, exactly, but his expression was something almost close. It was the best he could do, without seeming false.
"What happened to your Grandmother? You seemed upset when you talked about her."
