Friday night happened to be a night where everyone got to run wild, all except for Andy. You see, a good friday night meant a good deal of drunk people commits acts of public intoxication. It was a field day for the police, all except for Andy, yet again. Good ol' Bud Dearborn had a knack for letting Andy out for the night when he wanted to work the most. His argument of 'come on, I can catch anyone that streaks tonight!' did not really work very well. So it was Andy's night off and he had Merlotte's on his mind.
"Get me a beer," he huffed, a little peeved that he couldn't arrest anyone in the bar tonight. Well, really he could, even as an off-duty detective, but he wasn't there on official business, so he hoped someone would act up. Probably be one of those Stackhouses. Jason, the man sleeper and his freak sister. They're weirder than a stack of sticks with mold on 'em, he mentally chuckled. Where he came up with the idea that a stack of sticks with mold on them was weird in the first place...I guess the world will never know.
After his first beer, he ordered another and a burger with fries. He tenderly ate the fries (of course, after he'd buried them in salt and ketchup) and then moved onto the burger, making a few rest stops at his beer. Out of boredom, he grabbed his notebook and began to scribble in it:
Suspects: Sam Merlotte Jason Stackhouse
Arlene Fowler Sookie Stackhouse Maryann Forester Lafayette Reynolds
Terry Bellefleur (like hell!)
Dom
He paused, why the hell was Dom on there? She was dead! Grumpily, he erased her name, wondering how the hell it got on his list in the first place.

Jason walked into Merlotte's and was surrounded by all the familiar sounds and smells came rushing at him. He went straight up to the bar and was ready to order his lunch. "Man oh man, I am half starved. Can I get a burger Lafayette style?"
As he sat on the stool he noticed Andy sitting in the corner mumbling to himself. " Looks like he is back on the sauce." Jason got his beer and took a swig. He sure hoped that one day soon he would meet someone so he wouldn't have to worry about growing old and mean alone.

Lafayette had just finished an order of spinach and artichoke dip with tortilla chips when he heard Jason Stackhouse's voice. Lafayette had always thought of Jason as "sex on a stick" because Jason was very built and fit, another taste in men Lafayette had. However, he knew he could never "get" with Jason because for one thing, Jason was not gay because he could be classified as the "ladies man" and for another, Jason probably thought of Lafayette as a friend. Nevertheless, Lafayette pulled his usual charm and walked, if you could classify the way he walked as walked, over to Jason. "What up, boyfriend? How you doin' tonight?" He asked, placing a hand on the order holder. "You's want my deluxe hamburger?"

~*~ Brandy walked into Merlotte's, a grin on her face from ear to ear and a hint of a soft blush on her cheeks. She was wearing a pretty black dress with black lace underneath, and her soft ebony hair hung loose past her shoulders. She wouldn't dare tell anyone why she was so happy, but it had a lot to do with what happened the night earlier...
As she walked past the patrons, she spotted Lafayette standing close to Jason and decided to make that her next stop. She was curious as to how Jason and the blond tram - *p* - vampire did. She also wanted to meet Lafayette in person, rather than glance at him from the bar."Hey, Jason! Mind if I join you? I'm starving for one of Lafayette's burgers"She smiled warmly in Lafayette's direction, placing a hand on his shoulder reassuringly."I'm so sorry I didn't get to introduce myself to you earlier. I'm BB, and I must say your hamburger was the best piece of meat I've ever had in my mouth!"She laughed at her own words, knowing how it sounded. She was in a great mood tonight, and took a seat across from Jason without any hesitation."I see your still in one piece, how did the blond vampire go?"As she was talking, she looked past Jason to see Andy drinking alone and mumbling to himself. She didn't know who he was, and she didn't see him in the bar last night..."Who is the crazy guy in the corner? I thought I was the only one who talked to myself in public..."

"Hell yeah I want one of your burgers man, the only decent joint around here for miles!" Jason leaned forward and playfully tapped Lafayette on the shoulder with his fist. He and Lafayette were good buddies since as long as he could remember. They had also stirred a lot of shxt up together.
Before Jason could say anything else the door to Merlottes opened. He turned around and saw BB...she was even prettier than the previous night but he had to remind himself that she was Sam's.
"I see your still in one piece, how did the blond vampire go? Who is the crazy guy in the corner? I thought I was the only one who talked to myself in public..."
Jason took a swig out of his beer and smiled back at BB. "I told you before, I don't really know if vampires are my thing and I am certainly not going anywhere with one or inviting one to my house that I don't know." He studied her face, she seemed to be glowing. He'd only seen his sister look like this once before and it was when Sookie found out she couldn't read Bill's thoughts.
"You are certainly pleased with yourself, I take it things went well with Sam..." He winked at her but the wink wasn't given with any intention. Jason just liked to wink at her.
He nodded towards Andy. "As for that one, he is an a-hole when he is sober, now that he is drinkin' again, Andy Bellfleur is a fruity a-hole." Jason looked up at Lafayette and blushed. "Not that I mean anything by that fruity part..." Jason hoped he hadn't just stuck his foot in his mouth.

"I told you before, I don't really know if vampires are my thing and I am certainly not going anywhere with one or inviting one to my house that I don't know."
"Really? I didn't think you could resist any woman's charm Jason"
At the mention of this she playfully tapped his shin with her foot from underneath the table. But at least he had the smarts on him to not invite a vampire into his house just because she was pretty, it was usually the pretty ones that got you into trouble.
Well, the pretty ones that tried too hard.
"You are certainly pleased with yourself, I take it things went well with Sam..."
"Huh?.. oh, $hit. I mean.. um.. "
She was blushing again, and nervous as she felt something catch in her throat. She swallowed hard, and smiled nervously - the wink making her even more nervous.
"Now now Jason, no need to live bi-curiously through me. A lady never tells."
Nope. She would never tell. Though it certainly was tempting. If Jason had been a girl, she might of had an easier time telling him. Jason didn't need to hear her rambling about how much she adored the guy....
"As for that one, he is an a-hole when he is sober, now that he is drinkin' again, Andy Bellfleur is a fruity a-hole."
At that mention, she found herself catching Andy's glance. Though, he hadn't been looking at her. Curiously she placed her chin in her hand and studied him from afar.
"Hmm.. he is lonely. Lonely and.. troubled by something. He is a cop.. no, a detective isn't he? I am guessing you are not fond of the law Jason?"
"Not that I mean anything by that fruity part..."
"Ah, you mean Lafayette is gay? I figured, nobody could make food that good and have such flair - and be straight."
Brandy was thinking out loud again, but this time it was harmless and she smiled at Lafayette with a knowing nod.

Jason wiped the back of his mouth with his hand and smiled at BB. "Ha, ha, ha very funny...fyi she ain't no woman, she is a vampire."
After he heard her comment and saw her blush Jason grinned at her. "I wasn't trying to pry, shoot, I wasn't even thinking like that for once BB. Fortunately for you, I got a pervy enough mind that you don't really need to tell me anything. I didn't even know that Sam would move that quickly. He took nearly forever when he asked out Sookie..."
Jason finished off his beer and asked for another one before he realized the mistake he just made. Dang, talking to BB was just like talking to one of the boys. He really hoped she hadn't heard that last part.
He cleared his throat. "Yeah, I am not too keen on the law around here mostly because they accused me of killing my grandmother and my girlfriend and many other girls that I had relations with...sorta ticks me off and puts my back up."

"Ha, ha, ha very funny...fyi she ain't no woman, she is a vampire."
At that comment, Brandy had quirked her eyebrow toward him. She wasn't happy about that comment, not at all.
"Jason, you take that back. Just because a woman is a vampire does not make her less of a woman. It is the way a woman carries herself, and how she respects herself - it is who she is and not what she is that makes the woman."
She liked Jason, but sometimes his thoughts seem so closed minded.
"I wasn't trying to pry, shoot, I wasn't even thinking like that for once BB. Fortunately for you, I got a pervy enough mind that you don't really need to tell me anything. I didn't even know that Sam would move that quickly. He took nearly forever when he asked out Sookie..."
This had caused Brandy's dark caramel hues to widened. Was Jason trying to hurt her feelings? Brandy had no idea Sam had been interested in Sookie, nor did Sam actually 'move' at all. In Brandy's mind, it had been her doing all the moving, and Sam hadn't - -
"Don't be so quick to assume Jason. Sam didn't.. well, he isn't moving quickly. We aren't dating or anything like that. And nothing sexual of the means happened the other night. I don't want people talking, and it's a small town - so just quit while your ahead. Please."
Her eyes pleaded with him not to go further on the subject. She didn't want to have to stop coming to Merlotte's because everyone thought she was sleeping with the bar owner. No, that would not be very good at all.
"Yeah, I am not too keen on the law around here mostly because they accused me of killing my grandmother and my girlfriend and many other girls that I had relations with...sorta ticks me off and puts my back up."
".... someone killed your grandmother? Oh my lord, Jason, I'm so sorry - !"
Now how the hell was she suppose to stay mad at him after hearing that? What a terrible thing!

Dang, just as he thought he had pissed her off. "BB, I don't know what I say sometimes...it just slips out. If you really want to know what happened with him and Sookie I am sure they would tell you. Both of 'em are honest people."
Jason felt kind of stunned by the vampire comment. "I know that BB, I was just teasin'. Cristina is a lot more of a woman than I could probably ever handle..." Just the thought of her made him shudder. She would have probably eaten him for dinner if he hadn't left that night. As for his grandmother..."It happened, she is gone, and there is nothing that can change that."

Little did the happy trio realize, but the off-duty cop was secretly on-duty, don't let the beers fool you! However, the beers did fool poor old a-hole Andy. He heard the few insults cracked over at him. Andy? A fruit? Andy was about as straight as a hair after it's been electricuted. He was as straight as a slow Kansas road. Hell, Andy was a lot more straight than even Jason Stackhouse. Then again, not many women enjoyed his company, what man in their right state of mind would even touch Andy Bellefleur... Andy BelleStraight!
This woman just seemed to pounce around all cute and cuddly, something's been snuggling with her in the mornings. Could it be a dead body? Nah... best to just have another beer. He didn't mind Lafayette cooking burgers, even though Andy hated to admit it, his burgers were pretty amazing, for a homopatty. After they had continued on with their conversation and Andy had continued on with his next beer, he finally decided to speak up, after shoving another french fry in his mouth.
"Har har har har," he mocked, walking up to the always a bit too happy Jason. "Now hold up here, I never said you killed your Gran, that'd be absurd," though I wouldn't put it past a Stackhouse. "Now Maudette and Dom, those there are different stories," he spewed, placing his beer down. He wouldn't say it, but he was fairly close to pointing out that Jason never slept with his Gran, it'd be too awkward and a bit too disrespectful to say, even from Andy Bellefleur.

"It happened, she is gone, and there is nothing that can change that."
To be honest, it was the kind of reaction that she would expect from Jason. Though, she was certain he didn't really feel that way. He must of missed her, and it was a terrible thing. Brandy sighed, and her eyes had lifted from his gaze to notice the man Jason had been making fun of approach the table.
"Har har har har,"
Oh my.. this was embarrassing. Brandy seemed to slink back in her seat, her eyes looking at Andy curiously.
"Now hold up here, I never said you killed your Gran, that'd be absurd,"
Oh, for a moment Brandy thought that maybe this guy wasn't so bad after all -
"Now Maudette and Dom, those there are different stories,"
"Maudette and Dom? I don't know who those girl's are, but that is absurd. Jason isn't capable of killing someone and you know it"
My my, look at Brandy now. She didn't even know Andy, and she didn't even really know Jason - what she did know, however, were people.
"He doesn't have the stomach for it, the aura is all off, detective. Murderers, rapists, robbers.. you have to understand, they have a certain feel about them. Jason' isn't the one your looking for. He may be a horn dog, but he ain't no killer. And neither are you sir. Your energy screams detective, but you are just lonely aren't cha? Ain't no shame or blame in a man doing his job - but would you lay off of him already? This isn't the place."
She certainly meant no disrespect, she just was defensive when it came to her friends. And Jason was her friend.
"I am sure your not a bad guy, sir, and certainly Jason shouldn't call you those things but you need to give respect to get it. Don't you agree?"

Now, wasn't this a sight to talk in on. Andy Bellfleur seemed to be back on the juice again...since he was kind of swaying on the spot. That wasn't really what made Kyle's warning bells go off - it was the fact that he was talking to Jason Stackhouse, ex-suspect in the recent killings. That couldn't be good...Oh! There's Brandy...with them?
He walked up to the bar, standing near the trio, mainly standing beside BB. She was cool, and a witch like himself, but he didn't want to intrude incase she took it the wrong way. Could she be the next notch in his bedpost? Surely she had more...sense than that, not that Jason was a bad guy or anything, but he went through women like cleenex. "Hey Lafayette" He greeted to the flamboyant chef. He respected Layfayette for being himself no matter what anyone else thought or said. It took real guts to be like that, or attitude. Which Lafayette had in spades. Kyle liked the older male chef, he was good company to have and you almost always had a laugh when he was around. "Could I get a burger, if you're not busy?"

It was shortly after her conversation with Andy that she saw a familiar face walk through the door. She had been early, and they were going to meet for coffee later that night. She smiled toward him, giving him a warm wave as he took his seat at the bar.
"Hey Kyle, your early. Did you get hungry for one of Lafayette's burgers too? I swear I could eat them for all three meals. Have you met Jason, he is another friend of mine"
Kyle already seemed to know Lafayette, so no introductions were needed there. Kyle also ordered a burger, which meant he was also meaning to stay awhile.
"I was just telling Andy the finer points.. of not blaming the people I like of crimes they didn't commit."
At that brief moment a sigh left her full lips as she adjusted uncomfortably in her seat - she wondered if it was going to be a long night.

Kyle smiled at BB when she basically invited him into their little group conversation, though he detected some hostility behind her tone when she refered to Andy Bellfleur. So he back to accusing Jason Stackhouse again. *sigh* The man really should lay off the booze for a while.
"No I haven't, it's nice to meet ya" He said, the first half to BB, the second half to Jason himself as he offered his hand tothe elder Stackhouse. All he really knew about Jason was that he was Sookie's brother, and that he liked sex But on the whole he seemed like a good enough guy.

Jason didn't like to get angry, he liked to be left alone an drink his beer and have sex with girls. He tolerated a lot when it came to his smarts and people looking down on him because he wasn't bright. No ever got away with hurting his family or talking about them no matter what they done.
Jason stood up and looked Andy square in the eye. "You shut your mouth about Gran and if I ever hear you talk about her or Sookie in any way other than nice, ain't no prison big enough for what I will do to you Bellfleur."
He was so heated he could punch him right in the face, even if Andy wasn't in his right mind. "If you didn't think I killed my grandmother then why I stayed locked in that cell huh? Why did that man get to lie all day to everyone but no, it makes perfect sense that Jason Stackhouse would kill everybody!" That man was his former best friend Renee who had been able to fool everybody. That was the part that stuck in Jason's craw the most. The one guy he had trusted most stabbed him in the back and Jason didn't know if he would ever be able to get over it.
Jason started to walk away but at the last minute he turned back around. "You know I should thank you for sending me down to Dallas to meet with the Fellowship because if I hadn't been in that cell I would have never been introduced to it and you would have another dead girl on your conscience...my sister." Jason licked his lips and rubbed his jaw. "Go home and sober up Andy because the next time you speak about things you know nothing about, I will not be so nice."
