Kyle looked over his shoulder as the door opened and someone else cam into Merlotte's. Oh, it was Tara and...what the hell?! His eye's widened in shock as he got a look at the bruises on her face. Wow!...Lafayette will not be happy about that...
See, Kyle was right. He watched Lafayette practically stalk over to his cousin and start in on her already. To tell the truth, Kyle was wondering what had happened as well. He doesn't really know Tara personally, but he always found her attitude towards other people hilarious. She spoke her mind, usually with lots of cursing and insults. Alwys fun.

((ooc: was trying to wait for Andy to post so I will leave a short blurb for him not to have to read everything. Basically everyone is talking to themselves and Tara has walked in with bruises. Boy, can I sum things up in a few words! ))
Brandy had caught Lafayette's admirer notion and had glanced at Jason for a moment. She admired him too, after all they were friends and he seemed like a pretty great guy. A bit of a flirt and girl - crazy, but when it came right down to it - he seemed like the guy who would have your back in a moment.
She couldn't help but to flash him a smile, making a mental note to spend more time with him if she ever got the chance. Kyle was there as well, another guy friend of her's she was comfortable to be around.
Quite suddenly there was someone that entered the picture. She didn't know who the girl was, but she didn't look to be in the greatest shape. Curious, Brandy had watched the interaction between Lafayette and Tara and began to think they were related somehow. Lafayette was generally concerned - but in the 'overly protective' role.Brandy didn't know the girl, but already she was concerned...

Jason nearly spit his beer out. He knew that when Tara's mom had been drinkin' she was rough on her but Jason knew that the only one who could leave those type of bruises was a man.
A fxcking stupid man from what Jason could tell by the way Lafayette was interrogating his cousin. He didn't know if he should step in and ask if he could help or not.

"B*tch get yo nasty ass hands offa me!" She swatted her cousin's hands away. "I gotta job to do and I-" That's when she noticed everyone was staring at her and felt the heat enter her face rivaling the throbbing pain around her swollen eye. "Look, I'll be fine..." she said a little quieter, "No one did this to me I..." And what exactly did happen to her? She smoothed her purple shirt. "It was an accident, that's all. I musta fell down some stairs or somethin' it ain't no big deal!" What did Maryanne say? 'You are your own person and no one controls you but you' "Really Lafayette. I am fine." She spelled it out for him and patted his chest, hoping the drugs she took would kick in soon and erase the pain in her eye and now the growing pain in her head. A strained, uncharacteristic smile was flashed all around to cousin, BB, Kyle and especially Jason. She noticed the concerned looks and waved. "Fine ev'rybody. Just fine." She then sauntered behind the bar and tied her apron around her waist. Let's just please move on...please. She thought.

Lafayette's dark eyebrows furrowed at Tara's sentences. Besides her calling him a b*tch, which was something she did a lot, he could not recognize his own cousin. He knew she'd been hanging around with that Eggs motherf**ker and Maryann and right now, he did not like that. Looking over at all the stunned faces, he was speechless. He then looked over at his cousin, who was obviously trying to avoid the subject. "Tara," he began quite delicately, even for him. "Is you even in there?"

((ooc: My cue! ))
"Fine ev'rybody. Just fine."
Brandy had been watching from the sidelines, trying to mind her own' so to speak. Casually she was studying Tara, her fingers lightly tapping against the wood of the table she was sitting at.
Just fine. Maybe.. Tara was it? Maybe she was saying that because she thought everything was. Or she didn't remember - curious enough, Tara's energy seemed a little.. off.
Brandy had let out an audible sigh and stood up from the table, walking over to the bar.
"I'll have a rum and coke, make it a double. My name is BB, I'm uh.. a friend of Jason's, Kyle's, and Lafayette's"
Brandy eased her hand for Tara to take, hoping she might get some sort of feeling from her to signify what was really up with this girl. Sure, Tara wouldn't know Brandy was a witch - but that point was mute at the moment.

Kyle had to admit Brandy had balls. He wouldn't be caught going up to Tara after the almost blowout she and Lafayette just had. He's had experience watchin Tara's anger from the sidelines, he wouldn't wanna be facing it. Though he couldn't help feeling that Brandy wasn't just going up to the bar for a drink...but why else would she be there...?

Jason stiffened on the bar stool. Tara wasn't one to fxck around with, even more so when you didn't know her. He cleared his throat and pulled BB's hand indicating she should take a seat.
"I think this one has already had enough doubles for one day." Jason made a face indicating BB was drunk and hoping that Tara would smile. "I will have a beer when you get the chance lady and no rush on the food."

A throat had cleared, and BB had felt her hand being grabbed and pulled away from her spot in front of Tara. She turned toward Jason, a puzzled look on her face.
"I think this one has already had enough doubles for one day."
"Huh? What are you talking about - I haven't had a single drop of alcohol all night!"
Brandy couldn't help but to glare at Jason, not realizing at that point that he was probably doing it for her own good. She scoffed at him, quite audibly, and let a sigh escape her lips.
"Fine then. I can take the hint. Geesh. Try not to be so subtle next time."
She returned to her seat, tapping lightly on the table as she looked outside. Obviously she was missing something completely - she had only wanted to help.

"Fine then. I can take the hint. Geesh. Try not to be so subtle next time.
As the last sentence of the banter dropped between BB and Jason, Tara slapped down a Rum and Coke in front of BB.
"Tara, nice to meet you." She emphasized each word and shot a warning look to Jason before looking back to BB and shaking her hand, firmly. "And do not pay him no mind. I can tell when someone's had a few." she tossed her hair a bit and ignored Jason's request for a beer. To make a point of her last statement she snatched Andy's partially finished beer away "Don't you argue with me now Andy Bellfleur, ya hear?" she challenged, dumping out the tepid liquid and washing the mug.
"So, where ya from?" Tara learned from recent experience that new people were either f**ked up, wonderful or strange and she wondered which BB was.

"Well 'scuse me for tryin' to tell other people to mind their own business and stay outta yours...Tara you can get a little crazy some times and I didn't know what you were gonna do!"
Jason had seen Tara in some foul moods but he ain't ever seen her like this. "Weren't you supposed to move into Gran's house with Sookie?"

"Tara, nice to meet you."
Brandy perked up, but couldn't help to shoot Jason a glare. This wasn't like him at all, usually he had more respect for her than that...
"So, where ya from?"
Brandy had took the drink, sipping it gently. It was nice.. a little stronger that she was used to, but she did ask for a double.
"Oh, just a small town without a name, you know. I'm here now, that's all I focus on"
"Well 'scuse me for tryin' to tell other people to mind their own business and stay outta yours...Tara you can get a little crazy some times and I didn't know what you were gonna do!"
Brandy was ready to protest, but alas, Jason had a point. She was going to stick her nose where it didn't belong. It wasn't really her fault, she was just concerned as well. Besides, Jason had embarrassed her - that wasn't very nice at all!
"There are other ways to tell me to mind my own, Jason - instead of embarrassing me. Please have a little more respect for me, instead making me out to be some kind of drunk"
Jason was her friend and all, but come on! Brandy sighed and offered Tara an apologetic glance.
"I didn't mean to be butting in, it's a bad habit of mine."

Post by Andy Bellefleur on Sept 2, 2009 20:13:53 GMT -5
OOC: SORRY GUYS! You know how school is, and thanks, Brandy for that little summary!
IC: Women... hmm... how come Jason had all these women swarming around him and no one even blowing Andy a little kiss? How come Jason got to have all of the fun? Well, least Jason did not carry around a badge. And Sookie, she was weirder than hell and she even had a boyfriend! Women these days were so complex. As he dazed off thinking about how complex they were and why all of his past flings did not work out, typical drunk person to reminisce, Tara walked in.
At first, Andy paid no attention as she argued with a few people, throwing around her matching curse words with Lafayette. Those two had some mouths on them, somebody outta - WOAH! Andy finally looked at her face, it was all bruised up, or was it her face that was bruised? A moment like this called for, yup, you guessed it: A DETECTIVE! "Tara, who did that to you?" he asked, piping in from his drunken memories as if he were only dozing for a second or so and the world just sped ahead without him. Thanks world for waiting for ol' Andy Bellefleur.
