Kyle reclined against the tree, his eyes looking out towards the Graveyard. His parents graves weren't here but he still liked the graveyard - it was, almost, always quiet and he could come here and think and have some alone time. His life seemed to have taken a rather sharp turn recently - he has now met two werewolves, another witch like himself, and two vampires. All in the space of a week. Not bad if he said so himself.
He had known in the back of his mind that vampires couldn't be all that was out there. He had read enough books and seen enough tv to suspect - given that he could use magicks - that there had to be more out there. More that were still hiding in the shadows, so to speak. Maybe they were using the reception of the vampires as an example, use it to gauge how their own reception would go over with the human world.
Kyle sat back up and slid back against the tree, using it to prop himself up as he grabbed the tome lying beside him. Since he was alone he thought he would try out a new spell he had found - one that would be quite handy if a vamp ever trie to have him for dinner.
He placed a small ball of paper about ten feet away from him and then flicked his eyes back to the book, going over the spell one last time. Goddess knows what could happen if he made any mistakes. He took a deep breath, and then said the words. "Incindere!"
Not a second after the last syllable left his mouth he felt the energy surge through him and out of him, and then the ball of paper wall ablaze, as it someone had held matches against it. Now it looked more like a fireball than paper that was on fire. Kyle couldn't help the excited, relieved laugh that left him. He watched in fascination as the paper burned and crumpled, curling in on itself until it started to resemble a pile of char rather than paper.

((Mind if I join you? ) It was the third night Jessica found herself out in the Graveyard. She usually came here when she was either bored or did not feel like going to the library. She was humming to herself, earphones in her ears and the iPod touch she'd glamored someone to giving her just a few weeks ago was in the pocket of the simple dark blue dress she had on. She also had on leggings and black flats. Her feet, well flats, had just touched the grass that was near the Graveyard when a certain color caught her eye. The color was orange, the color of fire and flame. She looked up and sure enough, saw a ball of fire in her Graveyard. "What the f**k?" She asked and sped up to it, her fangs extracting for self-defense if needed. She saw a boy staring at the fire in a fascinated way before it crumpled into char. Staring at the face more closely, she realized it was the guy she'd met in the Grabbit Kwik. "Kyle?" She questioned and felt her fangs retract again. "What are you doing here? And with that flame?" She looked over to the black char then back to him.

Kyle flinched as Jessica's voice came from nowhere, not a good thing in the middle of a graveyard at night. His hand went to his chest, his heart, and his breathing came fast and short for a minute as he caught his breath and his heart got back under control. "Don't do that!" He shouted, harsher than usual because his body was still reeling from the fright.
Once he had control of himself again he explained, in a more natural tone. "I was trying out a spell. And it worked" He said simply.

Jessica took her earphones out and slung them around her neck so they rested on her shoulders. "Sorry," she said. "I didn't mean to freak you out." Her eyebrows raised as he said the word "spell." Witches exist too? She wondered to herself and walked a little more closely to him, but she kept her distance. "Whoa! You're a witch?" She asked, excitedly. "That must be really cool!" She had no idea how dangerous witches could be to Vampires and she also had no idea that there were many spells that could do different things. She took another step forward and then looked over to the char again.

Kyle waved off her apology, not really angry at her or anything, it was just the initial shock that made his lash out. But he was fine now, and elt kind of bad for shouting at the teenage vampire. He smiled as he stood up, glad that she thought his, well, race? was cool. "Thanks, and yeah it's kinda cool. But it takes work, you know" He shrugged. He took another glance at the charred remains of the paper ball, still feeling pleased about his successful spellcasting.

"No problem." She smiled and walked forward so she was right next to him. "Yeah, I know what you mean. Is there like different levels or something?" She was taking a different route of a reaction then any Vampire should. It's not like the normal reaction would be running away screaming bloody murder but a normal Vampire would take per-cautions upon meeting a witch. However, Jessica was the youngest Vampires around here and Bill had not yet told her about other supes, as they were called, in the area. She wondered what else excited now that she knew shifters, witches and vampires were actually real. Werewolves? Warlocks? Were-something or other's? She didn't know.

Kyle shrugged before he answered. "Well, supposedly there are different levels but I don't know anything about them. My gran never mentioned anything about different levels of magick or whatever" He explained, giving the vampire girl another shrug. He bent down and picked up the book. Wouldn't want to forget it. "So what you up to? There graveyards pretty quiet at this time of night, not usually a place anyone would go"

"Wow, that sounds so cool!" Jessica was a Vampire who let her actions do their thing before she could stop them. Namely, she was very impulsive and did not usually think before she spoke. She returned his shrug then said, "I haven't been up to anything lately. I come here when I don't have anything to do or I'm just bored. I live close to here and sometimes find it peaceful here." She looked at the book he'd picked up and her curious side came out. "Hey, mind if I skim through that real quick?" She asked.

Kyle looked down at the book in his hand and then shrugged and handed it over to Jessica. "Sure. Just don't go trying any of them. Goddess knows what could happen" He joked. Well, half joked - Jessica wasn't a trained witch so the spells could go really awry, that, and she was a vampire. Can vampires even use magick? Given that their bodies are, essentially, dead?
"Well, since your bored, and I'm bored, wana do something together to not be bored anymore?"

"Thanks." She took the book and opened it. "Whoa, this is pretty intense!" She said, looking at the first page. She sat down on the cross with her legs crossed with no trouble. She turned more and more pages, looking at the spells witches could do. "It's like in the movies..." She said dreamily, not hearing Kyle's last question.

Kyle didn't bother to repeat his last bit, just sat down on the dry ground beside the vampiric teenager, whom seemed to be very fascinated by his, well, way of life? "Yeah, it is pretty intense. And it resembles some stuff from the movies, sometimes" He had to be pretty vague there - there isn't really a definite way to describe what magic is like.

She took a minute to look up from the book and smile at him. Then out of the corner of her eyes, she saw a spell. 'Permatection' it said and from the pictures, Jessica saw that it was a very gruesome, dark spell. "Umm, do I want to know what that does?" She asked, lifting the book and pointing her finger at it so he could see what she was talking about.

Kyle leaned over to look at the part that Jessica was pointing at. Truthfully, Kyle hadn't read the book cover to cover. He reads the parts that intrigue him the most then jumps back and forth to read the rest. Witch texts weren't like books that required you to read from start to finish. More like...text books. Sort of.
"I actually dunno. I haven't read that part yet. I sorta...jump back and forward, reading bits here and bits there."

Jessica looked up from the book to give him a smile. "That's alright, I did the same things with my books...well, when I read." She laughed. "And was human." She laughed again then gave him the book back and stood up. "Do you have anything to do, Kyle? Cause if I'm bored and you're bored, we can be bored together." She looked down and gave him a nice smile.

Kyle took the book back, tucking it beside himself as he stood. Pity he didn't bring a bad he could shove it in...aw well, tough luck. "Well, what did you have in mind? What can we do at this time of night? Most shops and stuff are closed...unless there's any special vampire places that are open during the night?" Apart from Fangtasia of course. He meant something like...vampire bowling alleys or something?
