Kimberly was enjoying the gentle evening breeze and walking through the Bon Temps town centre. Her new hometown.
The place was quiet and not too many people were around. She was free to admire the old colonial type buildings and the old southern charm the place seemed to have. The more she explored the town, the less she thought of it as a god-forsaken place.
The people here were nice and genuine, something you just didn't get anymore these days. And admittedly, some of the men around here were cute too.
There was the blonde barowner with sparkling eyes who she noticed during her time at Merlottes. And then there was Alcide. Who had charmed her with his easy smile and gorgeous figure. A soft blush creeped up on her cheeks when she though of the dark-haired man.
It had been awhile since she had been this relaxed and comfortable in a place. And all of a sudden, the thought of anyone finding out that she was a witch, didn't sound all that bad either. This town seemed to be more accepting of exentricites like hers.

Kyle walked absently through Bon Temps town center, his feet carrying him in some random direction, his mind elsewhere. Only the other day he had made the paper burst into flames. Fire down, now he wanted to try ice. Nothing flashy, just a simple glass of water to frozen glass of water. He would keep it simple for now - learn the basics and then work his way up to the big leagues.
So intent was he in his internal musings that he did not notice the blond woman that he was steadily getting closer and closer to. He did not see the distance between them diminish rapidly - what are the odds of running into someone on a deserted night like this? Must be fate...

What a coincidence that Brandy would be there that afternoon as well. She had thought that by coming to the mall she could clear her head, maybe buy a new outfit who knew? It was at this thought that she had slipped her hand into her pocket and pulled out her cellphone.
Strange, the little collie figure seemed to stare at her with it's big blue eyes and automatically her thoughts drifted to Sam. There was something about him, no - she wasn't talking about her feelings for him, this time she was thinking about why the collie seemed to remind her so much of him.
She didn't even look up, and coming from the opposite direction she was ready to bump into Kimberly and Kyle as well! Luckily, however, she had looked up just in time to stop herself.
"Hey! Your that girl I saw with Summer aren't you? Your a witch right? Like me? And - Kyle! Hey, fancy running into you here"
That was Brandy for you though, mentioning things that were in her head before she even thought about it. At least she never kept people guessing as to what was on her mind.

The boy who had also approached her, was a total stranger to Kimberly. There was something about him that was comforting and familiar but she was sure they had never met before.
This girl seemed so familiar. It wasn't until she spoke that Kimberly realised where she had seen her before. In the mall.
"Hey! Your that girl I saw with Summer aren't you? Your a witch right? Like me? And - Kyle! Hey, fancy running into you here"
"I..um...I have no idea what you are talking about. A witch...me, oh no, you must have me confused with someone else. I'm a boring old nurse from Atlanta," Kimberly stuttered with shifty eyes. She had been told all her life being a witch was something to be ashamed off and certainly it was not something one would announce to the world.

Kyle was a little taken aback by BB's enthusiastic greeting. It wasn't the norm to broadcasat the fact that they weren't totally human, especially to another human. Whom BB just accused of being a witch also? He shifted his eyes to the blond stranger to see her refute BB's accusation, though it wasn't as forceful or as...disbelieving as most normal people. Hmm... He let it go, for now.
"Hey BB. Ahm, you might wanna calm down a bit. You're probably scaring...ahm..." He said, at a loss as to what Kimberly's name was. He trailed off, encouraging someone to fill in the blank.

"I..um...I have no idea what you are talking about. A witch...me, oh no, you must have me confused with someone else. I'm a boring old nurse from Atlanta,"
Brandy was confused, this girl was a witch - she could sense it. The only reason she was so 'out' about it was because they were the only three around within earshot - and Kyle was one too.
"But.. I know you are. I could sense it when I saw you with Summer in the mall...'
It was then she heard Kyle's voice interrupt her speech.
"Hey BB. Ahm, you might wanna calm down a bit. You're probably scaring...ahm..
"Huh? Why, Kyle it is just us. No-one is around within earshot of us. Can't you sense it? You both make me feel like I just said a dirty word."
Sure, she didn't broadcast it to the world, but she never had any shame in who she was. With a sigh she simply crossed her arms and glanced to the side. She didn't understand the world these days.

"But.. I know you are. I could sense it when I saw you with Summer in the mall...'
"I am not that thing you said I was," Kimberly said, this time with a little conviction. She had wanted to start fresh in Bon Temp and she was darned if once more she would be labeled as the town freak.
"Hey BB. Ahm, you might wanna calm down a bit. You're probably scaring...ahm..
"Kimberly. Kimberly Hollingsworth," she supplied with an easy smile in Kyle's direction. At least he wasn't trying to out her to the world. She was a witch yes, but that was no one else's business, especially if they were going to treat her like a lepre because of it.
"Huh? Why, Kyle it is just us. No-one is around within earshot of us. Can't you sense it? You both make me feel like I just said a dirty word."
"You can be whatever you want in private but I for one, do not want my private business being shouted to everyone." Kimberly said stubbornly, although she was a little exited to meet another witch, or two.

Kyle gave Kimberly a polite nod and muttered a "Hello Kimberly." Not wanting to interrupt the blond, supposedly, witch but wanting to give her a proper greeting anyway. He could see that Kimberly was starting to get a bit agitated so he reached over to lay a hand on BB's shoulder, get her attention. "Hey BB, maybe you should just leave it. Whether you're right or wrong I think you should drop it for now" He didn't say whether he agreed or disagreed with BB but he was trying to be a neutral party and keep everyone happy. Not always an easy job.

"I am not that thing you said I was,"
Brandy was shocked! Why was the girl so angry with her? Being a witch was not something to be upset about and Brandy certainly didn't doubt her ability. No, this girl's body language gave her away - she was just like her and Kyle.
"Kimberly. Kimberly Hollingsworth,"
Brandy was growing impatient...
"You can be whatever you want in private but I for one, do not want my private business being shouted to everyone."
"Private business??!! Don't get rude with me just because you are ashamed of who you are! What, are you worried what the others are going to think? Join the club with the vampires, supes, and shapeshifters. Or whatever else is out here. Frankly I - - "
"Hey BB, maybe you should just leave it. Whether you're right or wrong I think you should drop it for now"
Brandy was quiet, not bothering to share the rest of her sentence. Her hand was delicately on her hip, a soft sigh finally made it past her full lips.
"Fine. But I still don't think - - urg, never mind. I will just go off into a rant again. I guess you already introduced me, so yeah - my name is BB. Sorry about the bad start, I'm just.. well, it doesn't matter now anyway. But I still think you overreacted. Really, no one heard a thing."

"Look, I don't want to argue with you guys. I just don't live that part of my life in a public arena. I come from a place where being a witch is almost as bad as marrying a yankee. I'm new at this," Kimberly explained, feeling bad for snapping at BB. She obviously ment no harm and I had bitten her head off without a reason.
"I'm really glad you two are open with what you are. For me, it won't be that easy. I worked a long time to learn to disguise myself," Kimberly said giving the woman a gentle smile. She felt bad about how she reacted.

Oh...wow...BB was right, after all. So, Kimberly was a wtich, like them. He wondered where she was from were being a witch was such a bad thing. It was the tewnty first century after all, it's not like they burn people at the stake anymore. "Well...In Bon Temps it doesn't seem so bad to be a witch. I've told a few people...though I don't think any of them have been a complete human...but they've all seemed to be okay with it. The only people I would imagine would have a problem with it would be churches and the fellowship of the sun and people like that."

It was true Brandy had calmed down now, she didn't understand what it was like to live in a place where they didn't overly accept witches. Mind you, she didn't tell everybody but at the time - with just the three of them - it seemed harmless.
"I'm really glad you two are open with what you are. For me, it won't be that easy. I worked a long time to learn to disguise myself,"
Brandy opened her mouth to protest, to ask questions - but Kyle interrupted her thoughts.
"Well...In Bon Temps it doesn't seem so bad to be a witch. I've told a few people...though I don't think any of them have been a complete human...but they've all seemed to be okay with it. The only people I would imagine would have a problem with it would be churches and the fellowship of the sun and people like that."
It was hard to stay mad at someone with such a pretty smile.
"The fellowship of the sun would surely deem us unholy and unfit for sure. They don't accept anyone, that entire place is based on fear. But listen, you shouldn't be ashamed of who you are. But, it doesn't mean that you won't be. I will take your smile as an apology, and it's accepted."
Brandy nodded, shook her shoulders to loosen up and then gave her attention to Kyle.
"Well, here is a coven right here eh? Why don't you ask her if she is interested..."

"I like Bon Temp. I'm hoping to work and live here for a long time so I don't want to make waves or make a big deal about what I do in the privacy of my own home. It's nice meeting others like me but if you don't mind, I would like to keep this between us." Kimberly said trying to word everything correctly. She understood that Brandy was proud of being a witch and admired her openess about it but Kimberly didn't think she could be as open right now.
"I have heard about that Fellowship of the Sun. They are behaving horribly towards vampires and others like them. They are despicable people," Kimberly said looking at Kyle and shuddering. Just the idea of basing a church around hatred offended her southern Baptist self.
"A coven? I don't know if that's really for me," Kimberly pondered seriously. She had seen herself as a loner when it came to witchcraft.

Kyle scoffed when BB talked about the Fellowship of the Sun. He really really didn't like that htey were so biggoted against people that they probably didn't know hardly anything about. Since they were Christians they would hate Kyle doubley - the witchcraft, and the homosexuality. So they could just go and sling their hooks.
"You said it Kim" He grunted, agreeing with Kimberly's assessment. "Well...can you really call a handful of people an entire coven?" Kyle joked, trying to lighten the mood. He really hoped that Kim wanted to join them, three minds were better than one after all.

"A coven? I don't know if that's really for me"
"I know what you mean. I'm a solo practitioner myself but Kyle is a good guy and warmed me up to the idea."
She nodded toward Kyle and gave another little shrug. She wasn't used to the thought of practicing magic with someone but she was used to the thought of friends.
"Well...can you really call a handful of people an entire coven?"
"What you need is a good leader. I don't really fit that role, Kimberly is a little withdrawn on the subject.. and wait.. your gay?"
Brandy of course, was a little 'late' on the uppity-up so to speak.
"That is kinda awesome you know, I can be even more comfortable around you now that I know guys and girls can just be friends."
