"Look! Hobbits!"
If Brandy had of had a drink in her mouth, it would of been wore by someone in close distance. She looked at Summer with wide eyes and hoped that the 'hobbit's didn't hear her outburst.
Luckily, they didn't, and nobody seemed to either. Well, that was a relief! The music was drawing to its close, but Brandy wanted to keep on dancing. The song had changed to ACDC "Hell's Bells" and as if on cue the pain in the pit of Brandy's stomach had returned.
She couldn't explain it.
The figure nearing the door however, well he probably could.

So this was the place? Funny, he never pegged Brandy for the club type. But Anouk had insisted that Brandy was here, at this very moment, and that all he had to do was go in and find her.
It shouldn't be too hard, he knew her scent - he knew everything about her. And she was definitely there, he had to collect himself as he stood outside and stared at the door. All the emotions coarsing through him at that moment.
Love. Lust. Anger. Fear. Hatred. Pain.
They all hit him like a sack of hammers just from the possibility of seeing her again, and then the reality that hey - she ran away from him! She made him worried sick, and she was the reason he was a vampire in the first place!
Oh, now it was just anger. And that was when he opened the door with a fury - and he became enveloped in the energy of that club. Oh, she was definitely here.
"Here little witch, come out come out wherever you are.. daddy's home"

Summer giggled with drunken glee at Brandy's response. Neither the two little people heard the stupid comment. Not that Summer cared, what were they going to do? Nibble her kneecaps? Summer pouted as Bon Jovi came to a close but her eyes widened with joy as the opening bells of the AC/DC classic Hell's Bells began to play. "Looks like I'm not sitting down anytime soon." she grinned and 'whooped' in excitement.
Brandy seemed distracted, Summer reached her hand out towards her the grin on her face no longer there. "You okay honey?" Summer asked with concern. Brandy was always a bundle of happiness, to see her like this was strange.
Then the strange scent hit Summer's nose. A vampire, here? Summer now began to tense and stiffen at the thought of one of those creatures being in her vicinity. She wouldn't likely outright attack it, but she had no love for the undead either.

"You okay honey?"
The concern in Summer's voice was evident, and even though the song was intense - Brandy had a distraught look on her face.
"I.. I don't think so. Something's wrong, the air.. it changed. My stomach is just aching, but I don't know - -"
It was hard to concentrate with the music pounding in her ears, the lights flashing and the people dancing around her. It was like an energy had shifted and she stopped dancing.
She stopped everything, and placed one hand on Summer's shoulder for support. She stopped moving, she stopped breathing, and she focused intensely as her eyes closed. The pain in her stomach was working through her body, into her blood stream and her hand twitched.
Her eyes opened, slowly, and around her everyone was a blur. Everything was a blur. She looked toward the door, and she saw him.
"Oh f!ck me. He found me. How the f!ck did he find me?"
And now she was staring at him, unable to move - her body trembling. This was hell on earth.

Brandy looked like she was about to throw up. "I.. I don't think so. Something's wrong, the air.. it changed. My stomach is just aching, but I don't know - -" Brandy leant over and put a hand on Summer's shoulder. She really did not look well at all. Brandy closed her eyes and seemed to try to mentally demand the pain away. Her eyes opened again and it was a look of sheer terror.
"Oh f!ck me. He found me. How the f!ck did he find me?" Brandy was now in a state of panic. Summer followed her eyes and she found exactly who Brandy meant. Summer focussed on him, he was handsome and sophisticated looking. But there was one thing that made him stand out above everyone else in the club. "The vampire?" Summer asked obliviously.

"The vampire?"
Brandy's face had gone as white as a sheet.
"Vampire? What? Are you sure?"
She knew not to take Summer's sense for granted. She was finding it hard to stand and she was clenching onto Summer's shoulder probably a little harder than she should of been.
Fear. Pure, un-rated fear. She could feel it crawling underneath her skin, she never felt so scared of anyone in her life. His eyes, she could see his anger. His body - she could feel his urge to find her and tear her to shreds.
"I have to get out of here. Summer, I hate to ask this of you, but he is going to spot me at any moment. Can you distract him? If he finds me - now - he will surely -.. "
Oh god. Sam. She had to get to Sam. If Derek could track her here, it was only a matter of time...
.. he would be in danger too.

"Vampire? What? Are you sure?" the terror in Brandy's voice was unmistakable. Summer nodded grimly, even in her inebriated state (which had been greatly reduced) she could pick out a Vampire in a crowded room blindfolded. Brandy looked shocked, she couldn't have known about this change in him.
"I have to get out of here. Summer, I hate to ask this of you, but he is going to spot me at any moment. Can you distract him? If he finds me - now - he will surely -.. " Brandy was desperate and well, it had been a while since Summer had been in any sort of tustle. She beamed at Brandy. "Not a problem. I think I can handle one Vampire." she looked over and she seemed convincd he hadn't noticed Brandy yet. "Get the bar owner to let you out the back and catch a cab the hell outta here. I'll think of something to keep him busy."

Derek had caught attention. The attention was largely female but he was too focused on scanning the room to notice. His silky tongue rolled over his lips, nibbling at his bottom lip as he looked for her.
He could smell panic, he could smell fear, his body seemed to tense up and his fangs extended inside of his mouth but he struggled to hide them.
Oh, the things he had planned for her, tonight was going to be a night of rejoicing. He could finally taste her again.
Derek took a step into the crowd, unknown that she was already escaping out the back. Her scent was lingering, and he was following it. Smoothly he walked, easily through the crowd and straight toward her.
But when the trail stopped - when it smelled the strongest - he wasn't looking at his beloved, no.. he was looking at someone different entirely.
Oh, was he angry, he could sense her all over this woman. He opened his mouth, baring his fangs toward the unknown woman.
"Where is she?"
His voice was a snarl, a warning laced in his smooth and exotic tone. This woman had better tell him - or else there would be hell to pay.

Summer briefly looked over shoulder to make sure Brandy was outside and safe. The bar owner was good about letting her out the back with little explanation. Summer turned back to find the man, no Vampire in the crowd. No-one else seemed to notice what he was. This was something that always baffled Summer. How could you not know?
Before too long he'd made his way through the crowd and was towering over her. Now Summer wasn't a short girl by any stretch of the imagination. But this guy was a few inches over 6ft, Summer was a two inches under. He snarled and did his utmost best to scare her. Good job for Summer, she was a Were and they just don't scare that easily.
"Where is she?" oh yeah even his words were intense. Summer looked up at him with her best, brightest smile. "Who?"

"Who?"
That cheeky smile. That tone of her voice. F*cking B!tch - this only angered him more. Even the people around him weren't going to stop him, the crowd didn't notice him anyway. Except the women. F!cking, drooling women.
This wasn't going to be easy, and this girl - whoever she was, was covering up for Brandy.
"Don't play games with me, you little b!tch. I know she is here - her essence is all over you. So tell me where the f!ck she went"
There probably was a better way to deal with this, but all he could see was red and his temper was flaring. He had looked down, snarling again underneath his breath. He had suddenly grabbed onto Summer's shoulders with his big hands and brought her close to him.
His warm breath was heavy in her ear, he would go through her if he had too.
"Tell me where the witch went, I will find her eventually. By the end of the night. You are merely a road block so do yourself a favor and avoid a fight. I can smell the booze on your breath, you are in no shape for me. Not tonight."

"Don't play games with me, you little b!tch. I know she is here - her essence is all over you. So tell me where the f!ck she went" Such a charmer, Summer thought. No wonder she left you. Summer kept her smile on her face, no Vampire was ever going to bully her.
Tall and Undead grabbed Summer by her shoulder and pulled her closer to him. He really wasn't one to take no for an answer. Just another strike against him, as far as Summer was concerned. "Tell me where the witch went, I will find her eventually. By the end of the night. You are merely a road block so do yourself a favor and avoid a fight. I can smell the booze on your breath, you are in no shape for me. Not tonight."
Summer wriggled underneath his strong grip. She was a Were, so she was stronger than the average human. But no match for a Vampire, even one presumably as young as Brandy's ex-boyfriend. Different tactic. Summer laughed in his face. "I have no idea what you're talking about. Essence? Witch? Are you high?" she knew she was playing with fire. But would go all out to keep him from her friend as long as possible.

"I have no idea what you're talking about. Essence? Witch? Are you high?"
Urg! He was getting nothing out of her. This was a waste of his time and she was stalling him. He had held her still, his dark eyes narrowing over her shoulder and to the back door. Urg! Of course!
She had gone out the back door. Tricky little witch, who knew what kind of lead she had on him. Once he was outside, he could surely pick up her still - fresh scent. Angrily he had tossed Summer to the side, he wasn't interested in her anymore.
"Curses, wasting my time on you"
He growled and stormed his way through the crowd of people, heading toward the back door. He wasn't worried about a key, one swift foot to the door had succeeded in causing it to burst open.
Yes, her trail was fresh. It wouldn't take long, he would catch up to her in no time.

Derek had shoved Summer to one side. He must have figured out that BB had left by the back entrance. There really wasn't any other place she could have went in a hurry. Summer rubbed her shoulders were Derek's hands had gripped her so tightly and found herself sobering up dramatically. "Sh*t!" she yelled, trying to think what to do. She looked over at the bar manager and flashed her a smile as she walked over towards the bar counter. "Hey, I need a huge favour. Do you have any bags or anything. I gotta head out and I need something to put my purse and shoes in"
Summer raised her leg up behind her, rubbing at her ankle for extra measure. "My feet are killing me in these things"
"I think I might have something unclaimed in the lost and found. Gimme a sec I'll get someone to bring it over." the bar manager replied, barely able to take her eyes off Summer's esposed leg. She coughed and waved one of the waitresses over to her and explained the situation. She scooted off towards the cloakroom and within minutes came back with an undersized backpack. It was silver and had fake silver chains all over it. Summer balked at it, but she needed something to put her things into safely.
"Thank you." Summer smiled and took the backpack reluctantly. "It's perfect." So not true. "I had a great night, thanks for everything." put her hand on the bar managers arm, extra flirty. "Could you let me out the back too? I really need to find my friend. She's new to town, might get lost." Summer rambled on, but the flirting seemed to work and with a smile was taken to the back and let outside.
The cool early morning air hit Summer as soon as she got outside. Derek was nowhere to be seen. "d*mmit." Summer walked onwards, hoping to catch sight of him. Though she assumed he'd just super-Vamp speeded away. A cab came trailing over the horizon and Summer flagged him down. "Finally something going right." she muttered aloud and stepped inside and gave him instructions on where to go.
Summer started putting her things inside the small garish bag. Sandals and everything in the purse except her wallet. She looked out the window and noted she was as close as she needed to be without raising alarm. "Let me out here" the driver threw her a confused look and challenged Summer on wether or not it was the smart thing to do for a 'pretty young thang'. Summer rolled her eyes and gave him the fare. "I'll be fine, my house isn't far." and stepped outside and waited till the taxi was long gone.
Summer wasn't entirely sure where she was, but it was close enough. All she had to do was find a secluded and safe place to put her things. Somewhere she could pick them up again easily enough. Trudging through some wooded area, she reckoned she was close to Merlotte's at least. So she found a huge thicket and began to strip everything off and place it into the silver bag. You really couldn't afford to be too body concious if you were of the two-natured variety. Once the bag was well hidden, Summer got down onto all fours and she began to vibrate. Her bones cracked and within seconds the human form was no longer there, only a huge grey and brown timberwolf remained.
Summer in her wolf form, snuffled around the ground. She picked up various different scents. Then whimpered when she recognised the scent of Sam Merlotte. Instinctively, she followed it and hoped she would make it there in time.

Derek had used his vamp speed, her smell - essence, as it were, was getting stronger. He would find her in no time, even if it was obvious she had taken a car to get away. However, just as he was hot on her trail, the trail had ended abrutly.
He was so shocked by this that he stopped dead in his tracks, right in the middle of the road about 5 blocks away from Merlotte's. Bugger. She figured him out, she must of did a distraction spell to make him lose her trail.
"D@mmit. I would of had her if it wasn't for that bloody woman back at the club. She can't be too far from here - I can find her if I keep looking."
What a waste of time, there was still another 3 good hours until daylight. Maybe he could track her down, but that wouldn't give him enough time if it took him too long. He didn't even think to get himself a room for the night - his mind had been too focused on Anouk and Brandy.
"I will come back tomorrow night, and this time I will have no problem finding the little witch. Maybe though, I can look just a little longer."
He began to make his way down the road when he spotted the huge gray and brown timber wolf. Oh, what was this? Derek snarled, and his fangs extended from his thin lips. This was only going to slow him down further - d**n, how much protection from him did Brandy have?
The little witch had been busy.

The Werewolf paced slowly on the woods just on the outside of a dirt track. There he was, Mr Not-So-Charming. Brandy's now-Vampire ex-boyfriend. She circled around behind him while he seemed preoccupied. He eventually turned and spotted Summer. Though he didn't seem to register that this was the woman that held him off at the club.
He snarled at her, his fangs extending. Oh he was in a foul mood, that is if he had any moods other than foul. Summer stood her ground, digging her paws into the dirt track and began to growl at him in a low, threatening tone. Her teeth baring back at him. She couldn't let him find Brandy. She could take a few hits, she'd heal up fast enough.
