It was painfully obvious that the wolf was not going to let him keep searching for Brandy that night. But the trail didn't end by accident, he knew she wasn't that far. Not only that, but he was getting very annoyed by all these interruptions.
First a girl. Then a spell. Now a wolf. There was something else Brandy was protecting, and he had a feeling it wasn't just herself. By god - if she had another man - he would destroy them both. The whole 'if I can't have you, then nobody will" kinda deal.
Just the thought was fueling his anger again, and his head turned sharply to the wolf. He was young, but he was fast. He could take one little wolf.
"You really want to play, doggy?"
Derek rotated his neck, cracking out its tension as he leaned forward with a grin. So the wolf wanted to keep him from his prize? It was time to make the little wolf regret protecting what was his.
Rightfully!
Derek bolted forward with a vengeance, with a blur of speed he didn't even know he was capable of. He had zipped past the wolf on the right - then on the left - then on the right again in a blur. With each pass, he would send his nails across the wolf to distract it but still let it know he was there.
On the third pass, he had stopped suddenly in front of the wolf, and brought up his foot toward the wolf's left side. If it made contact, sure it would be quite the blow - he wanted a fight, he knew the wolf wouldn't just stand back and become Derek's new play toy.
After all, this was probably no ordinary wolf - Derek learned already to not take that for granted.

"You really want to play, doggy?" his words were cold and calculating. Seemed to sum up his personality perfectly. He moved in a way to get himself ready for an attack. Summer braced herself, if he went at full speed she'd have no chance to respond.
Twice she felt him connect with her, and she let out small yelps as they connected. He was using his Vampire speed afterall. She hunched down low, expecting another slash attack. But his foot connected almost full force to her ribs. It sent Summer surging backwards, rolling over a few times before she got her bearings and stood as upright as she could in her wolf form. She had to get an offensive move in somehow, despite the pain she was feeling from his physicality.
Summer paced back and forth, padding and scratching into the dirt. Her anger was starting to rise, she was protecting Brandy and no doubt Sam too. But this guy was starting to piss her off. Summoning up as much strength as she could, she padded towards him gaining speed until she was at a full out run. She leaped at him, jaws wide and teeth fully showing. She was aiming for his throat.

No. Not a normal animal, faster and stronger than a regular wolf. Smarter too, a normal creature he could tear to shreds. What power being a vampire, what energy coarsing through his non-flowing veins! Raw, uninhibited rage - just the way he loved to fight!
He was man after all. This was such a rush and he laughed as the wolf went flying into the dirt. He wanted to hurt this creature - and it wasn't even about Brandy anymore. It was his about his carnal need for destruction. It was fueling his essence.
When the wolf recovered it had came running for him, leaping in the air with it's fangs bared had caught Derek off guard. He managed to turn in time, the wolf's fangs sinking deep in the flesh of his shoulder had caused Derek to cry out in pain.
Angrily he swung his body hard, flinging the wolf away as his cold breath hung in the air. Derek's body was hunched over, holding his arm as his chest heaved up and down with a look of death in his eyes.
"You f!cking b!tch!"
However, much to his surprise, when he took his hand away the wound was already starting to heal over. This only caused a sort of.. insane madness.. and he quickly began to laugh loudly.
"Ah.. ahhhaaaaa!! Gods! F!cking right's!"
Oh this was just great! It hurt like hell, but the pain was subsiding so quickly he didn't even notice it anymore. He was after the wolf again, this time he was whir of speed and quite literally grabbed the poor wolf by its tail to fling the creature as hard as he could into the nearest glass telephone booth.
With any luck, for the creature and for the vampire - it would knock it out cold.It would, if the creature had any sense left. Derek had plenty of fight left in him, madness was a powerful thing.

His Vampiric senses must have picked up on Summer's charge as he deflected Summer's lunge and instead of the throat, her teeth sank into his shoulder. If she was in her human form, Summer would have gagged. Not because of the blood, but what kind of blood. It tasted bitter and harsh to her.
Derek tossed the wolf aside, he was boiling mad now. Summer kept her footing and stood, breathing heavily. Her teeth were stained with the Vampires blood.
"You f!cking b!tch!" he roared angrily before laughing maniacally. Summer's head tilted, her ears pinned back onto her head, her hackles well and truly raised. He was a madman. Summer was starting to regret her impulsive behaviour. Going up against a Vampire was reckless, even by her standards. Before she even realised it, he'd had her by the tail and swung her hard. Sending her crashing through a glass telephone booth. She yelped and whimpered in pain. Things were not going well, but she couldn't let him continue towards Brandy.
The wolf struggled to get to her feet, it's legs trembling in an effort to raise her body off the broken glass she was surrounded by. Hopefully sunrise would be here soon and he'd have his happy ass fried. All she had to do was keep him distracted long enough for that to happen. Summer tried again to raise up onto her legs, but buckled underneath them, crumpling onto the glass. Breathing heavy.

He was watching the wolf intently, anger in his eyes - no, not anger. Just lust. Lust for the kill, his silky tongue ran over his lips and the tip of it tousled itself around his right fang.
He was focused, panting and heaving heavily as he watched the wolf struggle to get up. Derek was impressed, this wolf sure had fight in it, it amused him.
"You would really sacrifice yourself for her, to slow me down? Your a noble creature. But I wonder what she offered you that you would fight for her so hard. Not a lover. A friend perhaps? We are not totally unlike, you and I."
Was he tired? Had he given up? No, not exactly. Seeing the wolf this way, partially defeated but still wanting to fight - it sparked something in Derek right then.
"You see, wolf, I love her. To me, she is worth fighting for. She shines. I have searched too long for her to let her go this time. I won't make the same mistake again. While I admire your honor.. I will not go for the kill. But believe me, you only delayed me. A minor inconvenience. Though I must thank you, for showing me what I am capable of."
He waved the wolf off, as if nothing but another mere delay. He was picking up a different essence now, the witch was letting her guard down.
He couldn't help but to wonder why.

The pain searing through her body made it difficult for Summer to concentrate. Maintaining her Were form was becoming a struggle, but she had to keep a hold of it until he was gone. She couldn't let herself be exposed to a stranger like this, let alone a Vampire.
"You would really sacrifice yourself for her, to slow me down? Your a noble creature. But I wonder what she offered you that you would fight for her so hard. Not a lover. A friend perhaps? We are not totally unlike, you and I."
Summer let out a low throaty growl in displeasure at being compared to a Vampire. If she was in her human form, she'd tell him to get bent. She was nothing like this creature, this possessive not a very nice person.
Summer couldn't even get onto her feet to stop him. She whined low, feeling like she'd done nothing to help. She had failed her friend and now he was coming for her. As Summer saw the Vampire fade off into the distance, Summer let her wolf form go and changed back to her now naked and very bruised and battered body. She had to get off the road, find her bag.
Wincing in pain, Summer slowly got herself up onto her two feet and limped off into the woods. She had to get her cell, call Brandy, warn her. Then a sinking feeling hit Summer as she reached the silver backpack. "I don't have her number." Summer slumped against a nearby tree, trying to stay awake.

Lafayette was driving home from the Grabbit Kwik, where he had bought some more liquor and ciggarettes, typical Lafayette stuff. He was just getting into his car when he heard something going on nearby. "What the f**k?" He questioned and threw the shopping bags into the car, then he got himself into it and turned the key on. Listening again, he heard a whine this time. "This town is even more goddam f**ked up then I thought." He muttered to himself, turning out onto the road. He drove in the direction of the sound and stopped the car where he thought he heard it. Thanks to Eric's stupid blood, Lafayette's senses were increased then they normally were. Leaning over the seats, Lafayette opened the glove compartment and took a flashlight and something else out.
Hopping out of the car, he turned on the flashlight and looked around. So far, he saw nothing but then he heard something in the woods. Turning around very quickly, Lafayette flashed the light into the woods, backing up so he was closer to his car just in case. "Hello?" he called out, "Who out there?" Stupid motherf**kin' vampire blood. Lafayette thought to himself as he waited for a reply from whoever or whatever was out there.

Summer was slumped up against the tree, wincing in pain. Every breath she took hurt like hell. At least one broken rib. She forced herself to put on the black dress from her girls night out with Brandy. She let out a howl that was not quite human, but not strictly wolf sounding either. How in the hell was she going to get back home?
Summer held her breath as she heard a car pull up and the car door opening and closing. A male's voice came out through the darkness. Did she call out or let him pass? Either way she was screwed. How do you explain being out here in this condition.
Summer tried to adjust herself, against the tree trunk. She yelled in pain and anger. "d**nit all to f*cking hell!" Oh crap, Summer gave herself no other option. Whoever was out there, now knew someone was hidden in the darkness.

From her howl and outburst of swear words, Lafayette had a confused expression on his face. "Who ever out that, I's can take you to a hospital or something." He called out again. He knew, from experience, that if this person was a Vampire then they would've healed and showed themselves by now. Stupid motherf**kin' Vampire He cursed Eric's name again in his head. "Unless you's ain't looking for help." He called for the third time, placing the object inside his pocket.

Summer heard the male voice calling out to her again. She had to get up onto her feet, but what in the hell do you tell a complete stranger. "Oh Hi, I'm a Werewolf and I just got my ass kicked by a motherf*cking Vampire" No...that just wasn't acceptable. Play it by ear.
"No!" Summer called out, her voice hoarse. "I'm trying to get up. Gimme a sec" Summer pulled herself up slowly, groaning in agony. "I just need to find my feet." Summer grabbed the silver backpack and used one hand to balance her against the tree and then on wobbly bare feet she made her way slowly out of the tree line up to the dirt track before collapsing to her knees.

Lafayette walked forward to her side and knelt down. "What the f**k happened to you, honeychild?" He asked in a concerned tone. He took the silver backpack, gave it a glance and then put it onto his back. "You's definitely need the hospital." He said and then looked back towards his car.

Hospital? Aw hell no. "No!" Summer cried out, putting a free hand up in front of her. "No hospitals. I can't bear the d*mn places. I just need to find a motel or something to sleep this off." Summer looked up at the man that came to her aid. Handsome and very flamboyant, she flashed him a smile. "I'll be fine, just a rough night is all. Please, I'm tougher than I look."
