It was early morning, the paint ball park had unlocked the gates a wee bit early for the group. Brandy assumed it might of had something to do with her boss being the co-owner, go figure. Her wrist watch read 6:45am and Brandy was still a little groggy from her late night movie with Sam.
Still, nothing could beat the smell of the wilderness camp that hosted the paint ball adventure. She was sitting in Sam's truck, dressed in camouflage pants, a black scoop-neck shirt, and running shoes. Her hair was carefully tied back into a tight ponytail, and she wore a green baseball cap.
Her shoes had been off however, her socked feet were resting against the dashboard as she waited for Jason to show up with Haylee.. and perhaps, Lafayette and Kyle. In her hands, and spread across her lap, was a brochure of the paintball field.
~ * ~ Woodsball Field: Approx 10 Acres Multiple Staging Points and Bases Marked Trails Throughout Ideal for Flanking and Ambushing Medium Woodland Setting
~*~ In her head she was already tracing her path, where the best hiding places would be and how the rules would work. With that thought in mind she folded up the brochure and turned to Sam with a grin."Oh, we have this one in the bag!"

Okay, so paintballing. That's something of a war game. So...he went with a pair of dark green and black army type trousers, and a bocka t-shirt (one that purposefully hugged him). He may not be trying to attract anyone today, but he liked what he had - had to work for it! - so he would show it off. Besides, it means he would be more aerodynamic. Hmm...maybe I could learn a spell or two before hand, give me an edge...neh...that'd be cheating...right?
Due to his cup of 'augmented' coffee he wasn't feeling the normal effects of such an early time as this. He wasn't hyper, but he wasn't drowsy either. Hmm, another edge. He made his way to the paintballing park on Renard Parish Road that BB had told him about. It was quite early in the morning to there wasn't that many cars driving about the place and the walk to the park was nice, peaceful.
He got there and the place looked empty...hmm...Oh! A glance towards the parking lot showed him that BB and Sam had already arrived. He made short the distance betwen himself and the car and gently tapped on the window to get their attention.

Why Lafayette was at a place that involved guns he had no idea but he could nevertheless get closer to Kyle, who was much younger then him and Lafayette's taste ran in younger guys these days. He drove up and parked his white convertible and got out. Lafayette was wearing his black do rag, a gray/black tight tank-top, black capri pants and black boots. To be even more flamboyant, he had painted his nails alternating black and dark blue. Lafayette looked over the paint ball place. "It's early in this motherf**ker." He muttered to himself finally spotting Kyle leaning against a car window. Walking over, he realized Kyle was leaning against the car of BB and Sam. He stopped next to Kyle and gave a little wave to BB and Sam. "Hey boyfriend." He said turning to Kyle.

Sam was sitting in the drivers seat of his Dodge Ram, his chin slumped onto his chest as he tried to catch a little bit of extra rest. It was about 6:45am, way too early to be awake he thought. His half awake dreams were of Brandy. What was it about her? He was now almost unable to get his mind off her. A dozing smile appeared on his face.
A small tapping at the window made Sam sit upright with a start. "d**n it!" he shouted loudly as he jarred his right shoulder from the quickness of his movement. He turned to look round and there was Kyle. Sam rolled the window down. "Hey Kyle. What's up?" Sam cringed as he tried to roll his shoulder free of discomfort.

Brandy blamed the coffee that Sam insisted on having hours before. She couldn't help but to smirk when she saw him dozing off next to her. He looked so adorable and she resisted the urge to run her slender digits through his messy sandy-blond hair.
Why was she resisting? She had reached one hand over, just about to run her digits through his hair - when there was a tap at the window. A gasp left her throat, just about the same time that it did Sam's, and she found herself looking at Kyle.
"Hey now! Wait until the game start's before you scare the $hit out of me"
Brandy crawled out of the truck, landing on the ground with a soft thud. She spotted Lafayette also coming their way and waved toward him.
"Hey there! I think Lafayette looks the best of us all. We are just waiting for Jason and Haylee now, I hope he remembered to pick her up - unless they decided to come in separate vehicles."

"Hey all" Kyle said, half laughing, giving the three other people a small wave. Saved having to greet each one of them individually. "It's not my fault if I scared you, you should be more alert. We are, after all, going to be having a war soon." He then turned down to look at Sam, still seeing some of the sleepiness in the older mans eyes. "You know, if you're tired you can sit this one out..." He teased. He knew Sam will be ready when the shooting began, but still, it kept the modd light.

"Thanks for pick'n me up, Jason." Haylee nearly yawned, while appreciating the gesture of being included in this game. It was thanks to BB and to Sam for being a pretty understanding boss! Though, despite that: It was Jason that had driven them both here, it was pretty nice of him. Given they were kinda strangers still. Despite all her thoughts, Haylee was trying to be alert in the meantime, as you can't win a war with one eye closed. Or could you? Lamest pep-talk ever, "Were' gonna kick a$$ and win, right?" Chuckling while feeling a tad bit awkward at the same time, really: She couldn't wait to see who is going to arrive on top. Once all the high-flying action starts, that is. Haylee was sporting the worn out brown-looking cowboy boots, a pair of jean shorts and a navy colored t-shirt. Might as well try to blend into the surroundings!
[EDIT: I have permission from Jason, to post picking us up.]

"It's not my fault if I scared you, you should be more alert. We are, after all, going to be having a war soon."
Brandy could only stick out her tongue as a response, after all - he was right. She was ready to go over the rules but it was impossible until Haylee and Jason showed up.
As if on cue, the pair had arrived. Finally, all were there and ready to go. Brandy motioned to the others, namely Sam, Kyle, and Lafayette, to follow her to the other pair.
"Morning guys! Just have some rules to go over before we start."
As if to sound all 'official' she had adjusted her hat and cleared her throat.
"So everyone has a team. Sam is with me, Haylee with Jason and Lafayette with Kyle. I figured the best game for all of us will be capture the flag but we are going to be doing it for points. Here is how it is going to work, capturing a teams flag and bringing it back to your base is worth 25 points. For each shot you managed to get on a member of the opposition you get 5 points. If you somehow manage to hit a person on your own team you get a deduction of 25 points. This means that if a team catches a flag, another team still has a chance to win."
Brandy paused, looking over at everyone to see if they were following her so far.
"Each team will have a base and will have to place the flag where it is visible. No cheating by hiding the flag in the bushes or making it to high to reach. Please do your best to not hit someone in the face, or in the uh.. pelvic area. You will know when you are hit because they do sting a little so expect some bruises in the morning!"
Brandy began to walk toward the registration office, expecting the others to follow while she continued her speech of the rules. She had to make them clear, after all.
"There is a safe zone. This means anyone that is in the safe zone shall not be shot at, nor can they shoot anyone. Sportmanship people! That safe area is close to the bathrooms. If you are hurt and need the game to stop, drop your gun and put up both hands. No one is allowed to shoot at you in this case. Um.. Jason and Haylee you are the blue team, Sam and I are red, and Lafayette and Kyle are yellow. Does anyone have any other questions?"

"Sure, it ain't no trouble. I am used to this early mornin' stuff. I work on road crew and this is about the same time I get up every day." Jason bent over and took a thermos out of a cooler. "You look wore out girl, you want some coffee? I also got coco if you like something sweet to pick you up..." Jason blushed. He sometimes said pick up lines so naturally, even when he didn't mean to.
"I can't believe you ain't never been paint ballin' before. Its like the most awesome thing to do around here! 'Course I am a man and we tend to do those types of things more often than girls and I will shut up now before I dig my self too deep a hole to climb out of."
He was dressed in a pair of khaki pants and a sleeveless blank tank. It was too hot to be wearing anything long sleeved but he had a dark denim jacket to go over the tank and a grey long sleeve shirt to go over his tank if the denim stuck out.
Even in the early light Haylee looked like perfection. She had a glow that seemed to frame her face even when the light wasn't touching her. Jason shook his head. He could kill BB. This was way too fxcking early...

Haylee was glad to hear Jason's statement, that regarded picking her up so early. [It wasn't even a problem]. Frankly, the only reason Haylee asked, was because she hated to a possible bother. Speaking of which, Haylee's interest had been peaked about the kind of work he did. Now, if only she could stop with the yawning here and there, as nimble fingertips rubbed her eyes. She mentally gave a laugh onto herself. Why the hell did she feel so drop-dead tired? Usually, morning weren't a problem to handle. Wore out? Maybe so, she agreed after thinking about that from Jason's words. "I usually don't have a problem with morn'nins. Today's just weird I guess."
After that little confession, she remembered about the offer for some coffee or coco. That would be lovely! "Game fuel." There was a slight chuckle before answering more direct, "Coco. If you please!" She didn't get to witness the blush, this was due to giving her surroundings a slight look. "Today's gonna be a workout." Call it a feeling, but its not one that complained, as her lips brought about a smile.
It was all in the name of fun! Once Jason started to speak on her not ever going paintball'n, she massaged the back of her neck. Awkwardly confirming it with a nod. Though she actually snickered about him digging a hole and never being able to get out. "If it comes to that, I'll throw a rope." Finally, just one step till the paintball game of War can begin! Everyone looked to be accounted for, it would stink to be a person down in the game, before it started.

You know, if you're tired you can sit this one out... Kyle said to Sam in a teasing manner. Sam just grunted and got out of the cab and gravitated towards Brandy. He watched as she just sort of took command of the whole thing. It just seemed really natural for her to do.
Everyone was accounted for so the games were about to begin. Sam reached back into his truck and into his glove box. He pulled out a folded over Merlotte's baseball cap and opened it up and placed it on his head. "Now I'm ready" he said grinning

"Okay, so now that that's all sorted, shall we proceed?" Kyle said, ignoring Sam's grunt and siddling closer to his team mate. Lafayette looked like someone who could move himself pretty well, so maybe they had a chance of winning. And...if necessary Kyle has a spell or two that could prove useful...but how to use them without outting himself?

Oh! Did that hat ever look cute on him! Well, it wasn't like she could go all starry-eyed on him now, not with everyone around them. As he moved closer to her and the others moved closer to their respective teammates, Brandy had led them to the gear shop.
Paint ball guns check. Extra rounds at different stations along the park - check. Coveralls in their team colors so that they weren't getting all their clothes dirty - check. Brandy strapped herself in, hooked the paintball gun around her arm and gave Jason a thumbs up.
"Take care of my girl, you hear?"
It was funny, because she didn't know Haylee quite that well yet. Still, she felt protective of her because they were the only two girls in the group. Brandy expected to get slaughtered that day but she sure would run like hell to avoid it!
"Alright teams, listen up! We are going to our bases now! When you get there, discuss your game plan and find a place for your flag. In five minutes a whistle will blow and the game is on!"
Brandy waited for Sam to get suited up, instinctively reaching for his hand without really a thought. Their camp was out the furthest, the closest to the forest - and with her flag in her free hand she had an idea how to use it.
However, for some reason, she glanced over her shoulder toward Kyle.
"And if your thinking about using any tricks Kyle - it's on!"
She winked at him, knowing that he would know she was talking about magic. She was also certain Lafayette and Jason might have other kind's of tricks after all - she already got the feeling that Jason was very competitive.

Lafayette was still confused as to why he was here but laughed and shook his head. Placing his arm around Kyle's shoulder, he said "We's gonna win this motherf**ker!" and laughed again. Lafayette handed the yellow coverall and a gun to Kyle before pulling on his own coverall and getting himself all suited up. He had his gun awkwardly positioned the wrong way but he put on a smile. He had taken his arm off of Kyle to get ready but he put it back around him in a team-mate fashion.

Kyle took the over all and slipped it on and then lifted his gun, holding it in a military fashion...well, the military fashion he had seen in the movies... Okay, so what to do with their flag? It has to be seeable, so he couldn't bury it...well...what if he just covered it instead... Someone needs to make a direct rulebook for this kind of thing! He looked over at the retreating form of BB and grinned. An eye for an eye, a spell for a spell. This game was definately going to be interesting.
"Okay, so how are we gonna hide our flag?" He asked Lafayette as he moved to their 'base' or whatever, effectively removing the other mans arm from his shoulders as he moved away. It wasn't anything personal, it's just that he was unused to physical contact with other men - most heteros were all adverse to man on man contact - except for Henry, but he was a different story.
