What a place for Brandy and Sam to come together, it was actually their first time at a mall.. out in public, for lack of a better word. Sure, they hung out at the bar and had already been paint-balling and to the movies but this was a bit different.
It was 2:30pm in the afternoon, the town center was busy for a Sunday afternoon and she was walking beside him. She didn't know why she didn't reach for his hand, it was what couple's usually did, but she didn't know yet.. how he felt about letting everyone in Bon Temp's knowing they were together.
"I work over there, at Perfect Fit. My boss was the lady who gave me the paintball tickets"
Brandy remembered her @ss still had a faded bruise on it and she couldn't help but to remember how she got it. She could laugh about it now, but that was also when she learned Summer was a werewolf. Sure, she knew Sam was a shifter now.. but at that time, he really was that desperate to keep his secret from her.
"It is a nice little place, the 15% commission is really nice. What store would you like to check out first?"

"I work over there, at Perfect Fit. My boss was the lady who gave me the paintball tickets"
Sam tilted his head and smirked at the name. Though he was one to talk. How original is Merlotte's, when it's your own surname? Then his mind wandered to the ill-fated paintball game. He got more of an eyeful of Summer than he ever reckoned with. That only led to his accidental shooting of Brandy's backside with a paintball. Embarassing at the time, but after a while he could see the humour in it.
"It is a nice little place, the 15% commission is really nice. What store would you like to check out first?"
Sam's brows furrowed, "I'm not really one to know about dresses and such." he turned to look at Brandy full on. "I'm happy to do whatever first, then go our seperate ways for a bit to pick our little surprises up." he gave her a smile.

Since school hadn't started up yet Kyle had some free time so...here he was, in the Bon Temps town centre. First on the agenda was some food, so he had grabbed a BLT sandwich from the food court (and a bottle of flavoured water) and now he ewas walked around the mall, muching away and looking for any shops that he wanted to go into. Clothes never really had much appeal to him, so the clothes shops were kinda out. Though the games, gadgets, and book shops held some promise...

"I'm not really one to know about dresses and such."
Brandy laughed at that, she couldn't imagine Sam being into dresses. Or even normal clothes for that matter. She pictured him as having one store, and one store only - and it was a store where he went and bought one pair of blue jeans, one pair of black jeans, and whatever shirts were on the "2 for $15.00" pile.
"I'm happy to do whatever first, then go our seperate ways for a bit to pick our little surprises up."
"Whatever I want?"
Oh, what a look of childish glee came upon her face! If Sam was scared - he probably should of been! She reached for his hand, and was almost pulling him toward the entertainment section by the food court.
It was a room full of games - D.D.R, racing, skeeball (her favorite) air hockey, video games and even had a girl behind a counter that was filled with prizes. Brandy waved to the girl, rummaged through her pockets and went over to the change machine.
20 dollars worth of tokens would give them a good 30 minutes of fun time, she expected. In her rush, as the tokens came popping out, she handed Sam a handful and spotted her first area of delight - the D.D.R. machine.
'Step right up! Join in the fun with Dance Dance Revolution!"
Brandy grabbed onto the little bar behind her, stepping around and onto the center of the four colored arrows underneath her. Her eyes were focused on the screen, flipping through the music that was available. She couldn't help but to turn toward Sam, a grin on her face.
"Are you joining me, or do I have to make a fool out of myself alone?"

"Whatever I want?"
The twinkle in Brandy's eyes made Sam nervous. She was up to something that was for d*mn sure. She reached for his hand and Sam wrapped his fingers around it, and felt himself being pulled away. "Whoah" Sam exclaimed with a laugh at the acceleration of the pull.
They stopped outside a sort of an arcade, full of games and assorted things to entertain. Though Sam suspected it wasn't exactly designed for adults. Sure enough, this is where Brandy wanted to go.
An exchange of money for tokens later and Sam found himself with a handful of tokens that he had no idea what to do with. Before he knew it Brandy had stepped onto one of those dance games with the arrows. Brandy grinned at him. "Are you joining me, or do I have to make a fool out of myself alone?"
Sam waved his hands in front of himself frantically. A look of fear across his face. "Oh no!" he cried, "You're not getting me on one of those. I don't dance."

Surely not! Kyle thought, grinned around his mouthful of BLT sandwich as he passed by the arcade and saw BB, trying to coax Sam Merlotte into having a go on the DDR machine! Oh he has to see this!
He swiftly entered the arcade and went over to the DDR machine, swallowing his food before he announced himself with a "Hi!"

"Oh no! You're not getting me on one of those. I don't dance."
Brandy's eyes softened, a smirk coming on her face as she was about to protest. That protest didn't last long when a familiar face strolled in behind them.
"Hi!"
"Kyle! Help me convince Sam to get up and dance with me! It's either going to be him, or its going to be you. Cause I'm not doing this by myself"
Silly Sam', did he really expect complete 'adult' time with Brandy? She was determined for him to get his hands dirty with her, and if it wasn't going to be D.D.R. it was going to be Skeeball, or Air Hockey.
Still, at least one round! She already had her song picked out and she was leaning over the bar looking at the two boys while she tapped her foot against the metal plate in the middle.
"Rock paper and scissors it if you have to, one of you is coming up here"

"Hi!" came a cheery voice. Sam recognised it straight away. Merlotte's kitchen hand, Kyle Summers. Sam cringed a little before putting on a smile. "Hey Kyle." Sam was definetly glad he chose not to go on the DDR contraption now. Last thing he needed was a new employee to see him jerking around on a machine that made him look like he had worse coordination than Andy Bellefleur.
"Kyle! Help me convince Sam to get up and dance with me! It's either going to be him, or its going to be you. Cause I'm not doing this by myself"
Sam shook his head in defiance. "I ain't gettin' on that thing Brandy. Seriously. I got two left feet." Sam was determined not to get on that d*mn machine. At the mention of rock, paper, scissors Sam just threw Brandy an 'oh really' look. "Brandy, no!" he smiled.

Oh now he had Sam right where he wanted him. He was determined to have Sam on that matt. Kyle could handle DDr, liked it even, but he really really wanted to see Sam give it a go. "Aw, come on Sam. Live a little. Let yourself go" he said, all the while grinning like a fool. "Besides, it'll make BB happpy, and you want that, right?" he said, not playing fairly, but the prosepct of seeing Sam on that dance matt was just too enticing.

"I ain't gettin' on that thing Brandy. Seriously. I got two left feet."
Brandy was grinning wickedly, though even she knew Sam would probably be totally awkward on the thing. She would be surprised if she even managed to get him play skeeball or air hockey. It was a feat to get him into paintball, seriously - what would Sam do without her?
"Brandy, no!"
He smiled, but he was serious and Brandy wanted to keep their date on a happy note. She shrugged and turned her back to them just as Kyle spoke up.
."Aw, come on Sam. Live a little. Let yourself go"
"Are you kidding Kyle? I can barely get him to let himself go when we are alone - never mind in public"
The song came on as Brandy entered in the last token, she was going even if nobody was with her to compete with. Smile DK : Butterfly had come over the speakers.
"Besides, it'll make BB happpy, and you want that, right?"
"Just his smile makes me happy"
She had managed to sneak that in as she began to bounce around, tapping the left arrow and right arrow - back arrow, front arrow to the rhythm of the beat as they came on the screen.
She actually really wasn't that bad.

Sam was stuck between a rock and a hard place. Kyle was being mischevious and trying to tease him into going on the machine and Brandy, he didn't want to disapoint her. But he just could not even consider getting on the blasted thing.
"You're not helping Kyle" he said with a mock glare. He had to get himself out of this predicament. Suddenly a flash of inspiration hit him. But Brandy began to tease him too and he threw his hands up in despair. "God, you two are incorrigable." he couldn't help but smile.
Brandy began to start dancing, her feet moving easily to each arrow in time with the music. Now was his chance to get away. "Babe, I'm gonna go get your surprise now. You don't mind do ya?"

Kyle had to hand it to him, Sam managed to find an out giving the rock and hard place he had put him in. What would girls want more - a present, or their boyfriend playing DDR with them. Exactly
"That's really sneaky" Kyle whispered to his boss, passing straight over Brandy's comment about Just Sams smile making her happy. Gag. Fair enough, if he was with Henry he would probably be sappy like that, but right now it just made him roll his eyes and fake gag.

"Babe, I'm gonna go get your surprise now. You don't mind do ya?"
Round Two! It flipped itself to the next song and Brandy was starting to feel the burn - so to speak. She was already catching the eyes of some other gamers (D.D.R. seemed to attract crowds for some reason) - including one girl who setting up on the other side to compete with her.
"Huh? Oh yeah, of course! Don't mind at all!"
She was having so much fun she didn't even hear Kyle's comment, nor did she really even hear Sam's. All she heard was 'go now' and 'don't mind' or something like that.
Left left right right right both up and down and left right right left...
That was the only thing going through Brandy's mind right now.
((ooc: You and Kyle can have your posts banter back and forth until you come back to the game stop ))

Sam's sharp shifter hearing picked up on Kyle's whispered comment. He kept his face straight, showing no reaction. He wasn't sure if he was supposed to hear it, but he couldn't take the chance.
"Huh? Oh yeah, of course! Don't mind at all!"
Brandy was concentrating heavily on her game. She seemed happy enough and that was good enough for Sam. "Great." he beamed, "See you back here in about 30 minutes or so?" it was a rhetorical question. Pausing he tried to find his moment to lean over the metal bar to give Brandy a small kiss. "See ya soon babe"
Sam looked to Kyle. "I could probably use a little help. If yer up for it."

Kyle made a conspicous "Awww" when they started up their sappy stuff again, but this time it was nice, endearing. Though Kyle probably couldn't get away with doing that with Henry - after all, he was a man, and he was his teacher. Not a good combination that he wanted to flaunt around...yet anyway. It was more the teacher part. Henry could probably lose his job for that.
"Sure, I'll tag along" He said, following Sam. He wanted to ask where they were going, but refrained since they were within earshot of Brandy.
