Sam kissed the side of her head and linked his hand with hers tightly. If this was a different scenario, it would be cute. At least, more cute.
"It's alright, you can hold me for a little while until she shows up. I promise I won't try and feel you up"
Sam put let go of her hand to put it around her, bring up his free hand to link back with hers. He sighed and held her gently, not wanting to cause her any discomfort. He couldn't even begin to fathom the pain she would be in, mental as well as physical. So if just holding her was enough, that was what he'd do.
"I'm never leaving you again. I promise you that." he gazed absently mindedly at the Family Guy episode on tv, not even really registering it. "I should never have left you alone at all. This would never have happened if I'd kept you with me."
He wasn't able to not feel guilty. He felt so bad, so stupid even for leaving her on her own with Maryann looming so close and so threateningly. And now Brandy had owed her life to an undead lunatic.

I'm never leaving you again. I promise you that."
Something in the tone of his voice, in the way he held her that made Brandy realize just how bad Sam had felt about what had happened. Her gaze toward the television had softened even more at his next words.
"I should never have left you alone at all. This would never have happened if I'd kept you with me."
"Hun... it wasn't your fault. If you keep on... "
Brandy didn't want to change the way he was holding her, so she leaned up in such a way that she could pivot her shoulders toward him and look seriously into his blue eyes.
"Your hurting me. Don't you realize your hurting me by hurting yourself? By blaming yourself and beating yourself up like this? Your heart is hurting, and I can feel it. So stop. Forgive yourself. Move on."
She didn't smirk. She didn't smile. She did nothing but give him a serious look that meant she meant business. She couldn't go on much longer, not when he was in such pain.
"You understand? Can you do that, for me and for yourself? Can you move on, and just let us work toward our future instead of blaming yourself for the past?"

"Hun... it wasn't your fault. If you keep on... "
Brandy looked up into his eyes, her face and tone were serious. She continued on. Sam had no option but to listen to her.
"Your hurting me. Don't you realize your hurting me by hurting yourself? By blaming yourself and beating yourself up like this? Your heart is hurting, and I can feel it. So stop. Forgive yourself. Move on."
Sam's head lowered, now he felt guilt of a different kind. He was foolish to think this wasn't affecting her too. He was so wrapped up in his own guilt and self pity.
"You understand? Can you do that, for me and for yourself? Can you move on, and just let us work toward our future instead of blaming yourself for the past?"
Sam nodded and looked back up, and into her eyes. She was hurting as much as she said she was. "I can't promise it'll be overnight. But once this whole mess is over, I can move past it. Just be patient with me, please." his blue eyes were misty, he knew she was right.

"I can't promise it'll be overnight. But once this whole mess is over, I can move past it. Just be patient with me, please."
How could she ever say no to him? She swallowed and kissed the top of his forehead gently before easing back into a comfortable position.
"Patience has never been a strong suit of mine, but I think I can handle it. I mean, it's not like I'm waiting for you to decide you want me or anything - and now I can kiss you without you saying we are moving too fast. Hell, I can even pull your pants down and - -"
Brandy giggled and turned her attention back to the television. Right now all they were doing was waiting for Summer to arrive, and of course.. there was the hiding out until they decided what they were going to do.
Wait.. what were they going to do?
"Do we even know what Maryann want's you for? I know there was something about you being a vessel for some bull-horned god of her's. Maybe if we keep on running, she will have no choice but to... give up?"
Or find someone else? Brandy looked away at that thought. She didn't think Sam would let them run, if it meant someone else. Especially if it was someone he knew.

Brandy giggled and Sam knew how much of a tease she could be, but in the very best way. They snuggled in close and aimlessly watched the tv. Sam was on edge, everything that could go wrong had gone wrong. The only thing that went right was getting Brandy the hell out of the chaos.
"Do we even know what Maryann want's you for? I know there was something about you being a vessel for some bull-horned god of her's. Maybe if we keep on running, she will have no choice but to... give up?"
"I honestly have no idea and I don't plan on findin' out first hand either." Sam didn't care if he looked like a coward. He wanted to live and his fight or flight instincts were telling him to get the f**k out. "Running is about the best idea yet. I say we wait it out here, then head back and pick up a few essentials and leave this mess behind us."

"I honestly have no idea and I don't plan on findin' out first hand either."
That was the main reason Brandy now had her head over top of Sam's chest, right about his heart. She needed to hear it beating, and her free hand came to rest right below his naval. The moment was just him and her, alone in a motel room with the television looming in the background. It felt like..
... like the calm before the storm.
"Running is about the best idea yet. I say we wait it out here, then head back and pick up a few essentials and leave this mess behind us."
Leave the mess behind them. Leave their friends behind, their place behind.. their life behind. It really felt like it was just him and her, alone in all of this.. craziness.
"You do realize.. we are leaving a lot behind Sam. But, its kind of hard seeing our life isn't even ours anymore.. our friends, your bar, our town.. everything belongs to Maryann. But there is no other choice for us. Neither of us have a chance against Maryann, all I can offer is to protect myself and to protect you - getting our lives back, and the town back.. it's impossible."
Running. It was a hell of a lot better than dieing. Running meant at least they stood a chance, maybe they could come back at a different time and Maryann will of grown bored and left on her own. Then again, maybe she wouldn't. But at least Sam and Brandy would have each other.
"We should stay here, maybe for two nights, we can decide that tomorrow. I will need that time anyway to be healthy enough to move again without so much discomfort. A cross country trip - not exactly on my list of 'things i can do looking like a paint by numbers'.

Sam stroked Brandy's hair. It relaxed him and right now they both needed the calmness. At least before Hurricane Summer came swooping in on them. He listened to her words carefully and he nodded softly.
"I know...."he sighed, "I know. But what other option do we have? I can't fight her. You're too weak now to fight her. It's looking pretty bleak. I don't like, want, to abandon anyone. But..." Sam sighed again, more one born of frustration. "If it's down to me and you, or a townful of crazies...." he trailed off, knowing she'd understand.
"We should stay here, maybe for two nights, we can decide that tomorrow. I will need that time anyway to be healthy enough to move again without so much discomfort. A cross country trip - not exactly on my list of 'things i can do looking like a paint by numbers'.
Sam nodded again. "Sounds like a plan. I can book us in here for a little longer, later on. Then head out to the nearest store to pick up something to snack on."

The text Summer recieved from Sam on Brandy's phone sent her mind reeling. Something was definetly wrong, so wrong that Sam was asking her to bring clothes from the duplex to some sh*tty little motel out past the ass end of Bon Temps. What the f**k where they doing there? Summer was confused and extremely concerned for her the well being of her best friend.
With a backpack of clothes and some other essentials that Summer took from the duplex. A scrawled note to Kaelyn to apologize for the busted back door, she didn't need to panic her too much. Girl was jittery as it was. It didn't help that days earlier she had tried to eat her alive. Oops.
The backpack stuffed into one of the compartments of Summer's Concours 14, she was off at high speed. Weaving in and out of traffic. Almost crashing several times due to stupid crazy people, most of them naked (or half naked) or cars just dumped in the middle of the road. Soon she was nearing the border between Bon Temps and Shreveport.
Summer followed all the signs, even stopping to ask some old couple directions. Sweetly they helped her out and Summer was back on her way. Before too long the motel came into view and Summer guided her bike into the parking lot, screeching it to a halt.
Dismounting her hulking silver beast, she took the bag from the back of the bike and looked around for the room number Sam had given her. She peeled off her helmet and put it into the same hand the backpack was in. With the other, she knocked on the door heavily. "Open up guys it's me." she thought it best to make herself known by voice, her instincts had told her if they were here. They were here for a very good reason.

Brandy reached to squeeze Sam's hand reassuringly.
."Sounds like a plan. I can book us in here for a little longer, later on. Then head out to the nearest store to pick up something to snack on."
"I'm not actually hungry, not after getting a good whiff of the lovely meal Maryann laid out for me in the house. I'm sure I will be tomorrow though, because even if I was hungry i would want pizza and I don't even want to think about how the pizza place in Bon Temp's is holding up"
Or any of the stores actually in Bon Temps. The whole town was a mess of chaos and everybody in it. She swore she saw a pen!s on the "welcome to Bon Temps' sign when they had passed it.
The loud knock on the door had snapped Brandy back into reality.
"Open up guys it's me."
Brandy eased away from Sam, even though he was already moving to open the door suddenly Brandy just had the sudden urge to see Summer up close. As if she needed that reassurance.
Brandy motioned for Sam to give her his shirt so that she could cover up enough to answer the door.
"I want to see her..."
After Sam handed her his shirt she put it on, suddenly glad that it was just long enough to cover up the fact she didn't even have underwear on. Getting over to answer the door was more than a struggle than Brandy realized - her bones were sore and even though she was getting better she felt like an old lady.
Motel rooms were small, and when she opened the door with wide doe-like eyes she almost fell into tears right as she saw Summer's face.

The door opened slowly and there stood a very battered, very bruised and very pitiful looking Brandy. Her eyes filling up with tears. Summer just opened her mouth, shocked to see her friend look so terrible. She wrapped her arms around her. "Aw hell B."
She pulled away and stepped inside, she looked to Sam (who was as half naked as those crazy fools in Bon Temps) and back to Brandy. "What the hell happened? Why are you all busted up like you went 3 rounds with Tyson?"
Summer put the helmet down and handed the bag over. "I didn't know what you wanted. So I stuffed a few things in there and some make up and other girly stuff."
Summer tilted her head and pulled a face. "What the hell is up with your town? It's like Mardi Gras gone insane out there"

Brandy squirmed when Summer wrapped her arms around her. Not because of the hug, but because even the smallest of touches seemed to feel 3 times harder than they actually were.
"Aw hell B."
When Summer slipped inside Brandy had done a quick look around to make sure nobody but Summer was around. Satisfied, Brandy closed and locked the door before looking at the bag Summer had brought for her.
"What the hell happened? Why are you all busted up like you went 3 rounds with Tyson?"
Brandy had opened her lips to speak but then decided to reach for the bag instead. She wanted to get dressed because she was feeling a little.. overexposed and overly modest at that moment in front of Summer. Even though, in all honesty - Brandy had already seen Summer completely in the buff.
"I'll let Sam explain everything"
Brandy glanced over at Sam, with a soft expression.. she didn't want to explain it all to Summer, explaining it again forced her to re-live the moment.
"I didn't know what you wanted. So I stuffed a few things in there and some make up and other girly stuff."
"Thank you Summer. I appreciate it"
Brandy had reached for the bag and was already heading to the bathroom when Summer asked her next question.
"What the hell is up with your town? It's like Mardi Gras gone insane out there"
Mradi Gras gone insane. Well, that was a good way to put it.

Sam watched as the friends gently embraced. Summer was such a good friend to Brandy, and good friends is what she needed. What they both needed.
Brandy looked over to Sam when Summer asked what had happened. "I'll let Sam explain everything"
Brandy stood for a few moments, taking the backpack Summer had brought for her and slowly made her way into the bathroom to change.
Once Brandy was locked away, Sam turned back to Summer. "She didn't want to tell you, but..." he paused trying to control his own anger. "She was attacked, really badly attacked. It was bad Summer, really f**king bad. She almost died." he cringed as he thought of Jack saving her with his blood. "Things have gotten really complicated back home. That's why we're here."
He waited on Summer's response. He knew she was going to explode with rage. He understood completely of course, but he was sure Brandy didn't want her flying off the handle and getting knee deep in Maryann's sh*t.

"Thank you Summer. I appreciate it"
Summer smiled at her friend. "No problem B, the least I could do for you. Though I think Kaelyn might not appreciate the busted door I left." she looked a little sheepish, or as sheepish as Summer could. "I'll pay for any damage to the property."
Summer frowned as Brandy went into the bathroom to change and maybe to get some alone time. Summer looked to Sam, who apparently had all the explanations in hand.
"She didn't want to tell you, but..." Summer's eyebrow raised in a 'go on' type motion. "She was attacked, really badly attacked. It was bad Summer, really f**king bad. She almost died." "WHAT?!" Summer felt her fist ball tightly so that her knuckles turned white. Her eyes demanded a further explanation. Things have gotten really complicated back home. That's why we're here."
"Complicated?" Summer repeated the words almost incredulously, "Complicated how? Who did this to her? Sam? Tell me who is responsible for hurting her" Summer's rage was building, her Were temper was short and simmering.
Summer began to pace, uncurling one hand to start pointing. "I'll tear out there f**king throat for hurting her."

"I'll tear out there f**king throat for hurting her."
That was when Brandy had finally made it out of the bathroom, her hair was pulled back in a ponytail and she wore a pink flowery summer dress. She didn't feel the need to wear makeup because it was going to be just her, Sam, and Summer for awhile.
She was certain Sam wouldn't even let her leave the motel. And not like he 'wouldn't' let her leave the trailer. He would probably make Summer keep her put if he had too.
"It wasn't his fault. He was being controlled by Maryann. Though, I will be honest with you, that man had a lot of darkness inside him before Maryann even tapped into it."
Brandy took a seat on the bed, scooting up toward the head board she pulled her feet up to her and looked at Summer with a soft expression.
"You remember when I told you I was in service of the vampire queen? Well... this is kind of a catch 22'. Because of this, Jack, the vampire that found me - didn't kill me. Instead he saved me, but.. I had to take his blood in order to live. You have to understand Summer, I really had no choice. If Jack hadn't.."
Brandy couldn't even look at Summer, instead she was staring at the television screen that was showing a rerun of The Simpson's.
"But I'm alive. That is all that matters. Sam and I, have decided to run. And keep running. You won't be able to see us for awhile."

Brandy came out, looking a little more herself in a typical Brandy style outfit. Summer felt a slight calm inside herself. Brandy had this weird affect on her that way.
"It wasn't his fault. He was being controlled by Maryann. Though, I will be honest with you, that man had a lot of darkness inside him before Maryann even tapped into it."
Summer had no idea who Maryann was or what Brandy was talking about. The only thing she knew, was her best friend was badly injured. Summer pulled a confused face as Brandy sat on the bed. She couldn't understand this level of forgiveness.
"Oh sh*t B..." Summer couldn't finish the words. As much as she didn't like or trust Vampires. Now her friend had gotten even more mixed up in there business.
"But I'm alive. That is all that matters. Sam and I, have decided to run. And keep running. You won't be able to see us for awhile."
Summer did a double take. She couldn't believe what she was hearing at all. "Run? What? Are you sh*tting me? Please, tell me you're sh*tting me."
