Time: 8pm Date: October 31st, 2009 Location: Merlotte's Bar and Grill Status: Bar Currently OPEN Brandy, and a few of the staff, had been diligently planning for Merlotte's Halloween Bash for weeks. It took a lot of planning for 3 or so hours of entertainment so Brandy, along with Arlene, Terry, Sam, and Haylee, had been working hard to get everything ready.
There was everything positively Halloween themed - spiders, skeletons, pumpkin lights, zombies.. a coffin in the corner. There was a table set up full of Halloween candy and treats and certain drink specials that were Halloween themed -
- Bloody Mary's
- Vampire Wine
- Crystal Skull Vodka with A Twist
- Red Rum Shooters
- Black Magic Shooters
Even an elaborate display above the bar served to give a Halloween feel. Music was just normal bar music, thanks to the DJ that was going to come in. Brandy thought Halloween music was kind of cheesy so she PERSONALLY requested the only Halloween theme music that night would be "Michael Jackson's - Thriller".
There were a few events set up, mainly the costume contest - but for the most part, the dance floor was cleared off so that the fog machine could be set up around the dance floor to go off at regular intervals.
Her own plans were to meet up with Summer and Evan and change into their costumes, grab something to eat - and make her own grand entrance later when the doors opened. After she stood on a ladder to hang the last pumpkin light from a rafter, she crawled down and made her way over to Sam."Alright hun, now remember... your costume is all ready to go in the bedroom. I'll catch up with you later alright?"One last kiss on the lips and Brandy was heading out the door... tonight was going to be a night to remember. Everybody was going to be there - ghosts, goblins, shifters, werewolves, vampires... the one night where Merlotte's would really be "open to all".

Sam was busy with Brandy and some of the staff setting up the bar for the night ahead. Posters and ads had been placed so it was bound to be as busy as it was on the re-opening night. Maybe even busier.
The display at the bar looked fantastic, really in the spirit of the night. Though it all seemed deeply ironic. While Vampires were common knowledge, other supernatural beings certainly were not.
"Alright hun, now remember... your costume is all ready to go in the bedroom. I'll catch up with you later alright?"
Brandy and Sam shared a tender kiss and he smiled back at her, "I won't forget babe." he was looking forward to the night in general. His outfit complimented Brandy's perfect, "See you later."
He watched as Brandy left the bar. Locking the door behind her, so no-one (Jane Bodehouse) decided to hijack the bar hours before opening.

Pam sauntered lazily over to the door of the Bon Temp bar. Eric wanted to send a friendly care package since they were going to be making an appearance at the party. Never to be one who be outdone, Eric was throwing a Halloween costume ball at Fangtasia. It was a little more exclusive and would be a tad more glamorous. Only the creme de la creme would be able to afford the ticket price unless you were a lucky fang banger that was getting an invite from a wealthy vampire.
She smiled as she thought of Sookie getting all gussied up and being escorted around on Eric's arm. Whatever the reason Eric was obsessed with Sookie and wouldn't be sated until she agreed to belong to only him. The smile quickly faded from Pam's lips when she reached for the door and was denied entry. Not by Sam but by a lock. What was the world coming to?
"Excuse me Sam. I hate to intrude but it seems that there is a problem with the door. Would you be so kind and let me in? These treats won't last forever and if I could eat anything, these would be very tempting to munch on."

She had finished setting up the last of the props and decorations and now stood in the bathroom of Merlott's; gazing back at her own pale reflection. In the bottom of her messenger bag lay the "Mara" costume and instead, what stared out at her was this: A simple, creme colored, velvet gown , with antique gold and read embroidery, a champagne colored, belt falling at the waist , her long hair, braided into a coronet, baby pink rose buds, looped throw on clear elastic. A pair of suede, champagne colored slippers that crisscrossed up the leg. Her Freya, crescent moon necklace dangled from a thin, silver chain. It was the Halloween ball at "Fangtasia " that she really yearned to attend, but for now, this would have to do. From outside, she heard a very distinct female voice-who even though she had only heard it once before- she knew, quite clearly, belonged to Pam Ravenscroft, who was supposedly Eric's second in command. With slow, careful steps, Anya approached the door and bowed her head slightly, in a manner of respect towards the vampire. " I'd let you in, ma'am, but Mr. Merlott might take issue with me goin' over his head." She said politely before whispering the last part. " Dull as it is , I very much value having my job." She had no trace of a southern drawl as she said this. In fact, her accent was very slight, though quite clearly European. Anya called out to Sam. " Mr. Merlott, may I please alllow, Ms. Ravenscroft to come in?"

Sam had wandered back to his office to clear up a few things when he heard Anya call out to him. " Mr. Merlott, may I please alllow, Ms. Ravenscroft to come in?" Sam made a start back out into the main bar area and nodded to the brunette waitress. "Sure, let her in." he grimaced internally, he had no love for Vampires and Eric and his cohorts especially put his back up. He feigned a smile, as obviously fake as it looked.
"What can I do for you Pam?" Sam asked quickly, the sooner she got whatever it was out the way, the sooner she could leave and he could continue the set up for the party.

Sookie waltzed out of her car and started to head into Merlotte's. Tonight she did not have to wear the same ol' plain outfit, the white shirt with Merlotte's over the breast and tight black pants or shorts. It was Halloween and she was allowed to dress up. For some reason, Sookie decided on a Fairy. For some reason, that was what she wanted. And the costume, all cute and colorful was helpful. Getting to dress up for Halloween was terribly fun, and getting to wear semi sexy clothes was even more fun because you were allowed too without being judged!
Heading for the door, Sookie noticed Pam was already there. Pam was sure a very different kinda vampire. She actually cared, it seemed. She pretended to not like parties and things, yet she had her own store, played dress up with Haylee and Sookie for a girls night out and arrived to parties early. Sookie had already helped setting up earlier and went back home to change. She headed into the door and noticed Pam had a box of things, did she bring decorations? Seeing Pam, she thought of Eric. Would he be here? Would he get to see her costume? He would just melt at the sight and that was what Sookie had been hoping for, secretly deep down inside.
She held the door open with her foot and saw Sam, Pam and Anya, the new waitress. "Hey Yall! Happy Halloween!" She said as she made sure the door was propped open. The bar would soon fill to the max with people in their costumes. It was going to be a fun night!

Post by Aislinn Del Fleur on Oct 23, 2009 21:08:12 GMT -5
Aislinn sighed as she parked her old beater of a car into a spot in the parking lot of Merlotte’s bar, there a bit earlier then when the party started to help with the last final touches set up. She was already in her costume, which is basically what she could have worn if she were still back at Quantico: jeans, gray tank, issued black boots and marines ‘letter style’ jacket. Her fathers old tags were just an added touch, something that would have been around his neck had they been on base. Then again, if they were still on base she wouldn’t be here, sitting in her car and stretching over her seat to reach into the back for her purse. She figured she wouldn’t have bothered to go to the party if she didn’t work there, not really being one for big parties. Of course…the off chance that Damian would be there made it all the more appealing.
“Stop that!” she told herself in a harsh whisper, “You don’t even know him and you’re already acting obsessive…And talking to yourself apparently. Good job Ais…”
With a heavy sigh she got out of her car and walked across the parking lot at a jog and into Merlotte’s, smiling and saying a quiet ‘hey’ to Sookie as she propped the door open. Looking around she had to say she was impressed with the decorations, especially the ones above the bar. She gave them a good look now with a surprised look on her face, knowing that with the number of people who were expected to show up she wouldn’t really have a chance to look at the decorations again after that moment. She wasn’t really looking forward to the hard work ahead of her and the stress that would come with it, but she really didn’t have much of a choice now that she was there. As she looked around and moved to put her purse into the back she saw Sam along with his girlfriend Brandy and the newest waitress Anya, Sam busy speaking to a blonde woman that she didn’t know but who was very obviously a vampire.
“Wow.” She said, more to herself then anyone else, with a surprised hint in her tone as she came out of the back, “ You guys really did a number on the place…”

" Please, come in, Ms. Ravenscroft." Anya said, respectfully nodding toward her. To Sookie she said: " Hey." brightening up a little. The very first thing she noticed about Sookie is no matter where she went, her personality always seemed to bright up the place. " You look, lovely." and she meant it .
Anya also noticed a girl , dressed as a military brat come in and exclaim on the decorations. To her she said: "Thank you. We worked really hard on them." Anya turned back to Pam and indicated the packages. " Can I get those for you?"

Pam tilted her head at the young girl. She was knew and from out of town, quite literally. This girl was from across the pond. Pam arched an eyebrow. Interesting...just as she was about to comment on the girl's appearance when Sookie made a grand entrance. "Always so pretty dearest Sookie, it's a shame that you are spoken for..." Pam dashed back to her car and carried in the armful of goodies.
It obviously wasn't heavy, just obnoxious to juggle. "Sam, if I didn't know any better I would think you weren't happy to see me. Since I know that can't be possible, I have brought a gift from Eric, in thanks of throwing a fabulous soirée."
Pam spotted an empty table and in her true fashion, arranged it with all the goodies with out asking for permission. "I also brought some extra True Blood, just in case. Now before you can bawk I will see you later this evening."
Pam took Sookie's hand as she strode toward the door. "Simply delicious...perhaps I will tell you about the illusive winged creatures some day." With a last wink Pam flitted out the door. Tonight was going to be very interesting indeed.

People were starting to arrive, one right after another. Brandy had decided to come with Evan and Summer because she wanted her costume to be a surprise for Sam. It was true that they were both themed as pirate's, thanks to Pam, but there was also an allure of sexiness around Brandy's costume that she felt she could 'knock his socks off' with - so to speak?
She just wasn't expecting Summer's costume to be so.. revealing (it almost made Brandy blush to look at it). But, lucky for Brandy, she had more confidence than she had ever had since - say, 4 months ago. Brandy wore a pirate's uniform complete with a pirate's hat, a leather bustier, purple pants, a black bracelet with earrings, a fake sword.. and the sexiest pair of black pirate boots she had ever seen.
And Evan's big bad wolf costume? Hilarious. Brandy lifted up her eye patch as she looked and spotted a couple familiar faces. Namely, Pam and Sookie. Sookie was one sexy fairy - which made Brandy so so glad that Sam only saw her as a friend and nothing more. Even Pam looked smoking (well, Pam always looked smoking) and Brandy was content to approach them both."Sookie, Pam - it's so good to see you both here! Pam, did you bring those extra goodies? Thank you so much!"Brandy couldn't resist the urge to hug both of them before she turned her attention to a cupcake that looked just too tempting to pass up.

Rose hadn't been around for a few weeks, away on business, well that was what she was telling anyone who asked anyway. Of course the humans could mind their own. When she arrived back in Shreveport she had heard about the Halloween party that was to be held at Merlotte's. Deciding it would be interesting, and hopefully meet some of the other vampires she had tentatively been getting to know. Of course when the invitation arrived she had noticed the part about fancy dress, it irked her slightly but she had decided it was, after all, a human tradition and she should enjoy herself. So here she found herself parking her new car, a Toyota Lexus, in the parking lot of Merlotte's.
As Rose approached the door she looked herself over, her outfit was thrown together, that of a pirate wench. She had had fun decorating the sword in 'fake' blood, not knowing hy she had done it, but thought it appropriate. Pushing the door open she was amazed at the transformation the bar had undergone, the staff really had excelled themselves in the decoration of the place. Looking around she was happy to notice she was not too early, it seemed Pam was also here.

Damian was at home getting ready for the Halloween party, hoping he'd see Aislinn there. He liked her a lot though he only just met her and only for about fifteen minutes. She was interesting and sweet and pretty. And different, then the rest of the girls in his past.
He was wearing a somewhat costume. Most were things he found in his closet the others from an old friend from Okalahoma.
When he got to Merlotte's he saw Brandy talking to Pam and some blond he never met. Damian walked up to the three. "Hey Brandy, Pam and..." Damian wasn't much for introductions. "What have you guys been up to?"
And that's when he noticed Aislinn. She was wearing almost the exact same thing as he was. And he began to wonder where she got her things from. And how they ended up wearing the same costumes. 'Maybe it's fate,' he thought.
He began to walk with out noticeing where he was going but it seemed he was heading towards Aislinn, "Hey Aislinn," he said quietly. "You look..." he couldn't figure out what to say. "Wonderful."

Post by Summer Morgan on Oct 24, 2009 11:32:29 GMT -5
Summer had, had a complete blast getting ready for the big Merlotte's Halloween party. The look on both Brandy and Evan's faces at her rather revealing slave girl, Princess Leia costume. Never one to be bashful about her appearance, Summer knew she wanted something eye catching and jaw dropping to wear. It was her first Halloween party in years, so her enthusiasm level was sky high. She had even tried to rope Evan into wearing a complimentary outfit, but he chickened out and opted for something completely different. Summer had to admit that it was pretty funny, she could barely keep a straight face anytime she looked at him. Finally they had arrived and Summer was all wrapped up in the ankle length black jacket, not to cover her modesty but to keep her outfit a secret till the very last minute. People were already slowly starting to gather at the bar by the time they had arrived. Summer was hand in paw with Evan, still trying to stifle any laughter at his ironic costume. Well, ironic to those in the know. Everyone else would just see it as a silly costume. "I still can't believe you chose that." Summer said giggling at him. "You had the chance to go as a suave badass and you choose the furball." she smiled, her tongue poking behind her teeth. She really didn't mind what he wore, just that they were together. But some harmless teasing was acceptable. Summer looked around, hoping to see Haylee and Adam joined at the hip somewhere. After a less than auspicious start the two had really hit it off and were a super cute couple. Both of them had decided to keep there costumes a secret too, so she was dying to see what they both had chosen. Now it was the moment of truth, she turned to Evan again with a huge knowing grin. "Baby, could you help me outta this jacket please." she knew she was going to get stares, good and maybe even bad, when she had her jacket removed. But quite frankly Summer didn't give a sh*t.

Debbie didn't understand why she was even going here. But she found the best outfit that would make anyone jealous. It showed off a lot more then her usual. But it's Halloween and your supposed to do things you normally won't do. And she knew she'd be early and she was hoping on it too. To be there as people entered. When she walked into the place she noticed many shifters, and humans. And one vampire. She walked towards a booth. She decided once more people come, definatly witches and vampires, she'd leave. Debbie didn't like many things other then shifters and were's. She was a were-lynx herself and despised vampires and humans of any sort. Debbie was starring off towards the many people. There was a couple, dressed almost the exact same, a human and were. The witch, human and vampire who was standing close to the entrance. And he could tell there was a shifter somewhere else in the building. She didn't know anywhere here. Then she noticed the were she met a few days ago enter. She was with someone in a wolf costume and by the smell it was a were...she met him too, at the bar in Shreveport.

All sorts of interesting smell's that night. Vampires, werewolves, shifters and witches. Even a few "authentic" humans, one thing that was a rarity in this town. When Summer asked for him to help her take off her jacket he lifted up the head part of his costume and placed it against the wall.
Of all the costumes to choose, his wasn't really a 'costume' at all. But it was comfortable, and he was grinning as he helped Summer out of her jacket.
What could he say? He had the sexiest girl in the place - and she had no problem showing off which was a definite plus. At least for him.
"They did a good job on this place, I'm impressed."
