"Sure babe, you coming to sit at the bar. I gotta get my ass behind there and serve people. No Summer to save me this time."
Sitting at the bar is where she would be, even if she didn't really feel like partying tonight the least she could do was keep her chin up for Sam right? A lot of planning had gone into this night, but she just... the news she had wasn't exactly going to put her into a good mood.
Brandy ordered a bloody Mary and had turned her back to the bar on the swivel chair, her brown hues scanning over the couples of the bar. Almost everybody had come with someone.. it was a nice change, maybe something really was in the air?
Even Damian seemed to be with somebody new, and he didn't even need any magic to snag himself a beauty. She couldn't help but to smile as she waved to him and toasted up her glass. Part of her wish Kaelyn would show up tonight - but she doubted that would happen. It was bit too much of a crowd for her shy friend...
With that thought in mind she had to retie the red lace on her boot and she took off her eye patch to slip into her pocket. It made her vision a little wacky. She glanced up at Sam, surprised that he had worn a costume but he did it for her - so that was a plus. This is what made the news all that much harder..
.. she really didn't want to tell him.

((ooc: Continued from Halloween Party))
"Wanna drink? Still no Haylee and Adam."
Evan wasn't too worried about Haylee and Adam, for all he knew the two decided on a pit stop. Wait a minute? He shook that thought away - Adam wasn't him after all.
Whatever it was, he kept his piercing blue green eyes on the door for a moment before thinking about what he could drink.
"Just a beer, beautiful - thanks"
Evan had took a seat, eying the goodie table as the DJ came into the bar and began to set up. This meant music soon... and that was exactly what he had wanted.
Maybe they would play some good old Steve' - Guitar Town. He loved that song.

Sam made Brandy's drink and handed it over with a loving smile. She took it and spun her seat round so, or at least he assumed, to watch the ongoing activities of the party. She seemed very subdued however, really not her usual bubbly self. This made Sam very worried. If something was on her mind, he really wanted to know what was wrong. It was his jon to help her through any of her troubles.
Unfortunately that would have to wait until he had a spare minute or twenty. The bar was bustling to the brim with people, supes and normals alike. All intermingling like there wasn't a care in the world. Even the Vampires that had shown up weren't being a bother to anyone and the regular folks of Bon Temps were leaving them to it, or too drunk to care. Either way Sam was pleased, tonight was a night for fun. He really didn't need nor want any problems. The last thing he wanted to do was have to tell someone to leave the party for one thing or another.
Summer came over to the bar with Evan close behind. He really couldn't believe his eyes at her costume. It was so...so sparse. She looked good sure, but it wasn't even remotely subtle. He wondered how the hell Evan was happy with her parading around in little more than underwear. His blue eyes drifted back to Brandy, her costume was perfect. A real balance of subtle and sexy and she looked, as he'd said to her, amazing. He just wished he could find out what was wrong. She was hiding whatever was bothering her well, but Sam knew her better than that.

Summer came over to the bar and gave Brandy a kiss on her cheek. "Hey sexy lady." Summer gave her a wink and found the last barstool available. She hopped up onto it and patted the thick leather seat, she motioned towards Evan to stand next to her.
Summer turned her head towards Sam. She caught him giving her a strange look, one Summer couldn't tell if it was disapproval or confusion. She really could never work Sam out that well. Summer just arched an eyebrow and then her grin appeared. "A Bud and a Coke please Sam." Summer placed her order in and Sam nodded and went to get the order.
Summer caught a familiar face out of the corner of her eye. A huge hulking figure of a man, dressed head to toe in typical labourer work gear. Complete with hard hat. She smiled and waved over at her boss..no ex-Boss. Alcide was no more than a friend and a trusted ally at this point. She was about to hop off her stool and give him a hug when he made his way over to Debbie Pelt. Summer rolled her eyes, he had no idea what he saw in her.
Sam came back over with Summer's drinks order with a slight smile. Something was on his mind, but Summer wasn't about to pry. Not like he'd tell her anyways.
Summer passed Evan his beer and took a quick sip of her Coke and placed it back onto the Halloween themed barmat. She slipped her free arm around Evan's furry waist. Giggling at his costume, she turned herself round so she was facing him straight on. "Maybe I should have came as Little Red Riding Hood instead." it was an innocent enough sounding thing to say, that is if it had came out of anyone else's mouth. From Summer it was riddled with subtle hints and suggestiveness.

Okay, now Adam felt bad. Rather than act like a slobbering puppy he went into complete silence and it made Haylee feel unsure about her choice of costume. Just before they stepped through the door and into the bar, Adam stopped and looked at her. His eyes full of apology. "Princess, you look beautiful. Way too good to be on my arm tonight." he gave her hand a gentle squeeze. "I should have said that sooner, I'm sorry."
Adam then pushed against the wooden frame of the door and the dulled sounds of chatter became louder and more intense. He didn't know anyone in there save for Evan, Summer, Brandy and Sam. So he headed over towards them with another apologetic smile. "Hey guys."
Adam almost did a double take at Summer's costume. she sure has guts he thought to himself as his eyes looked over her skimpy outfit. Brandy, Sam Merlotte's girlfriend and Summer's best friend looked stunning in a sexy pirate girl outfit. Sam was in a complimentary outfit. They were every inch the perfect couple. Though Adam noted that Brandy looked a little distant, but kept silent as he felt he didn't know her well enough to fuss over her.
"What would you like to drink Princess?" Adam turned to his date, completely ignoring her earlier attempt to dismiss his nickname for her.

Summer may not of been able to read Sam's expression, but Evan sure could. He could only smirk toward the bar owner - the way Evan saw it, the others could stare and gape and even envy as much as they wanted, he was the one that got to take her home that night.
Evan liked his women to have a little guts, and with what Summer was wearing it was hard to focus on anything else in that bar - nor did he want too. Evan had been eying the karaoke machine, and then the DJ, and then his cousin with his date for the evening - Haylee.
It was nice to know a blond haired blue eyed girl who looked liked Haylee - but actually had some brains underneath the pretty exterior. He could say the same thing about all the girls - Summer, Brandy, and Haylee. In fact the 3 couples, made quite the family and a big part of him had wanted Brandy and Sam to fit in with them as well.
"So Adam. I was thinking us three guys could get together one night and have a guy's night out. Same with the girls, if you are all coming over for thanksgiving dinner at our place we should all know each other first."
Oh, now what was that? Yes indeed, Evan had just 'invited' or rather - told, the other two couples that they were going to all have thanksgiving dinner together. Evan really was the "leader of the pack" - or so it seemed.

Just before entering the door and into the bar itself, there was a reply to her almost nervous inquiry. [Regarding the silence, if not her costume as well]. Adam held a look of being apologetic within his eyes, then began to call her beautiful. Though, not before placing a "princess" in the beginning of his words. Haylee simply couldn't see what Adam did, whenever he looked at her and gently shook her forehead. As to being to pretty to be on his arm: Nonsense, she'd rather be on his arm, then anyone else. Now, with speaking up a little sooner: It could go both ways; she didn't want to dwell on it any longer. The night was supposed to be fun! Along with spending time with one another. In jest: She chuckled with her reply. "Your forgiven."
While finally entering the bar, her eyes scanned the room. Wow! It really turned into a cute hot spot of costumes; already it looked alike a blast. Though, she couldn't recognize anyone at the moment in the crowd. [Well, other then Sam, B.B. and Summer]. Speaking of which, all held some pretty interesting costumes for the eve. "Is that who, I think it is?" Trying not to chuckle to much when seeing The Big Bad Wolf costume; make that ANOTHER she recognized. [Though, wanting to have a play with her words]. Whenever shaking that off, she heard a offer of getting a drink.
Again with the "princess," it really did make her blush. For a moment, she tried to look over a drink, finally making her choice. "A bloody Mary." The name seemed pretty interesting enough to have a try. Briefly, she blinked when hearing Evan's suggestion before placing a hand over her mouth. It was difficult to imagine him as normal, he was after all: In a wolf costume. It was almost like imaging a talking wolf inviting you over for dinner in a fairy tail book. She tried to stifle her laughter before giving everyone a small greeting of sorts. "Heya Ya''ll."

Sam became distracted from his bartending duties when Evan spoke up of a night out for the men and of the Thanksgiving dinner. The comments were aimed at his cousin Adam, but directed at all the males of the group. Overall it sounded like a good idea. Both newcomers to the area seemed like decent people and it would be nice to get out and about.
He wanted to wait to see what Adam and more importantly what Brandy thought. If she thought it would be a good idea, he'd happily go along with the guys night out.

When Haylee arrived with Adam, Brandy had nodded her 'hello' quietly. She was actually.. way more quiet that unusual. Even when Summer had called to her she only managed a nod. It was hard to try and distract herself long enough to actually enjoy herself.
Evan had seemed insistent about a man's night out and thanksgiving dinner. Sam had glanced at Brandy, and Brandy looked at Evan over her shoulder.
"It is fine with me"
Brandy drank her drink slowly, but only finished half the glass before she decided to wander over to the bathroom. She was contemplating heading home, so that she didn't bring down the mood.

Summer raised an eyebrow at Evan's random outburst. Not that it was a bad idea, it was a great idea and Summer's smile said it all. It was just like Evan to take control in such a way. He was very forthright and if he had something to say he just came right out with it. It was quite refreshing in a way and well she really got a kick out of his dominance. He was a true Alpha in every sense of the word. Maybe that was part of the attraction? Who was Summer kidding? Of course it was.
Brandy getting up from her bar stool caught Summer's attention. She was acting really strangely and definetly not in the party spirit. Summer considered going after her and she turned back to Evan and whispered in his ear. "Just going to the ladies, guard my seat with your life." Summer slipped off the stool gave Evan a quick kiss and followed in Brandy's footsteps. She had to see if her friend was alright.

Adam began to relax a little more with Haylee's humorous retort. He really couldn't believe his luck at all. It had taken him a while to actually pluck up the courage to talk to Haylee, let alone ask her out on a date. But with some encouragment from Evan and Summer he did and amazingly Haylee accepted. She'd even managed to put up with his awkwardness enough to accompany her to this party.
"Is that who, I think it is?" Haylee pointed towards an imposing figure in a wolf costume. Adam nodded with a grin, "Yeah that's Evan alright." he pondered for a moment how Haylee would react to learn that his cousin (and his cousins new girlfriend) were Werewolves. He put the thought out of his mind. No point in wondering about something like that tonight.
Adam ordered Haylee her drink and himself a bottle of Miller. It would be his one and only drink tonight. He was driving and one was pushing it in his mind, but it was a party and one beer wouldn't inebriate him.
"So Adam. I was thinking us three guys could get together one night and have a guy's night out. Same with the girls, if you are all coming over for thanksgiving dinner at our place we should all know each other first."
Typical Evan, Adam almost giggled. Evan was never known for being slow at coming forward. He just came right out with whatever it was he wanted to say. Sometimes it would rub someone up the wrong way. But other times, like right now, Evan would come up with a halfway decent idea.
Adam nodded as he took a swig from his bottle."Sure, I'm up for it." he spoke up after he'd swallowed down the ice cold beer. His blue eyes twinkled as he looked at Haylee. "You okay with that?" he wasn't so much seeking permission as he was making sure she was happy to go on the girls night out with Summer and Brandy.

He hadn't come in costume, mainly because Vaughn had no idea it was Halloween. Things had been a little...fuzzy since his arrival in Shreveport.
Things in Vaughn's life had always been complicated and this was the icing on the cake. He needed answers and he needed to know his sisters were fine. Vaughn had woken up in his hotel room with the faint memory of being attacked by some muggers outside a club. The local vampire sheriff of the area had helped him out. His name was Eric and the head vampire indicated that Bon Temps was a good place to look and try to get some answers. When he came up, the place was practically a ghost town. He had to follow the smells which led up to this bar and he noticed why the place was deserted.
As Vaughn strolled up to the bar he took a seat next to a pretty young woman dressed as a pirate. He smiled at her warmly, trying to let her know that he was a nice guy and not some creeper. He turned his attention back behind the bar. For a small town place, this establishment was fairly well stocked. "Excuse me, when you get a minute bar tender, I could use a Makers, straight up and iced." Generally a beer would suffice but after the week he been having Vaughn was confident the need of something stiffer.

At least she had the chance to give a slight nod to the newest arrival - the guy without the costume and a warm smile - before she had gone to the bathroom.
After a cold splash of water on her face, Brandy had forced a smile toward the mirror and found herself glancing toward the door as it opened and Summer strolled in.
Brandy still didn't know how Summer had the guts to walk around in public like that. Sure, her best friend had a nice body for it and everything but.. didn't she feel a little naked?
"Hey Summer. You and Evan seem to be favoring well"
Brandy had nudged toward the door, signifying that she was going to head back outside. Summer obviously knew something was up, but Brandy didn't want to ruin the mood of anybody that night so she forced a smile and started to head for the door.

When Brandy got up to go to the ladies room, Sam's eyes followed her every move. He began to set his body into motion to go after her, but an unfamiliar male voice dragged him back. He kept his eyes on Brandy and sighed, but when Summer got up from her spot and followed her into the restroom Sam felt a little better. It was small comfort though.
Sam slowly turned back towards the customer, his eyes very distracted and his voice matched how he was feeling. "Uh...sure Makers?" Sam mused rhetorically as he started to make up the drink. Under normal circumstances Sam would have given the drink over with a smile and offered some small chit chat with the stranger to the town. But his mind was on Brandy.

As far as Evan was concerned, everyone was coming to Thanksgiving and the guys - and girls - were going on 'nights out'. He had finished his beer, watching Summer curiously but when the newest arrival came in well...
Evan knew the guy was a shifter. What exactly he shifted into was another question, but he was watching the new guy curiously. More shifters and werewolves showed up on Halloween, and as long as the guy wasn't going to cause trouble than Evan had no problem with it.
His blue green eyes looked at Sam, a curious quirk of his eyebrow as he slid his empty mug over to him for a refill.
"Your karaoke machine working? I've been tempted to actually get up there and sing"
There Evan was, in nothing more than a big fur full-body suit and he wanted to sing? This might be an interesting party after all.
