Just after one meeting Jack had arranged this meeting with Ivory, though he still was unsure why. He seemed to enjoy her personality and after years of wondering alone he had decided that now it was time to begin being social again. Merlotte's seemed the perfect place to meet, it was a well known bar, popular and it served Tru Blood. So to the ever practical man that Jack was it seemed like the perfect place.
He walked up to the glass door, wearing another fine suit, though a slightly darker shade of grey from yesterday, underneath he wore a white shirt with a crimson tie and a matching waist coat. He appeared to be the definition of elegance but looking inside the bar he felt a little over dressed. He glanced at his reflection in the glass and adjusted his tie before stepping inside.
Instantly he felt eyes staring at him, and some areas of the bar hushing at the sight of Jack. Had they never seen a man in a suit before? Or perhaps it was because he was a stranger to this town? He wasn't sure but he spotted a free booth and took a seat, still feeling the eyes bore into his back from some of the customers with nothing better to do than gossip. He sat alone in the chair and starred at the table top for a moment, glancing at one customer who still eyed him. Quickly the man looked away and returned to his beer.
Jack sighed and considered whether this was a good idea or not. He looked to his watch. Nine Pm. He was early, but he liked being punctual. He wondered if he should order a drink now or wait for Ivory to arrive. It might be a slight shock for her to see him drinking a bottle of Tru Blood when he had not revealed his vampire side. He decided to simply wait and see.
(This is mainly for Ivory and Jack but it would be nice for others to join in, such as Merlotte's staff/ locals)

Kyle sighed as he entered Merlotte's get again. He really should think about going to other places, he wouldn't want to come off as a teenage alcoholic. But...well, all the action seemed to go down at Merlotte's. So there, he had a valid reason. Tonight, instead, he chose to take a seat at the bar rather than in a booth. He chucked his coat on the bar infront of him, just crumpled it in a ball and set it there. Tonight he had gone with a simple pair of jeans and a t-shirt that hugged his torso.
The bartender seemed to be occupied with other customers, so he let his eyes wadner around the faces of his other barpeople. His gaze slid passed the usuals until he found a newcomer, where he let his eyes stay for a while. This guy he had definately not seen before, he would remember him! He was the usual tall, dark, and handsome.

Lips pursed lightly as she dodged each nasty glance her brother seemed to launch so precisely, Ivory spat out her tongue in a mocking manner when she shut the door within his face - puffing her cheeks up as she giggled. Ok, so maybe she was going to be a tad late...seeing as it had reached nine twenty. Only moments earlier an old man had simply stood in the shop waving toward the brunette, until she had grown bored and decided to finally finish up. Unfortunately, the time given alone hadn't allowed Ivory to even change. So, the thin girl simply ran down the street like an idiotic; grin broad despite the small bruises based upon her nose and cheek bone from the previous nights incident. At least blood didn't swarm within her mouth tonight.
Dressed within a simple black shirt and jeans, she seemed almost to casual. Still, it truthfully didn't bother her upon how her appearance reflected to people - her sapphire gaze lingering on the door to Merlotte's. Why be nervous? Why! Twitching weakly at the aspect of such emotion, Ivory simply shoved the door open and smiled fluently when glances turned toward her. Nothing interesting as she was, many people simply returned to their conversations and allowed the brunette to wander in like the lost soul she was. Though, it seemed gazes did actually linger when she paused within the middle of th room - eyes scanning for a certain person.
Seconds passed and Ivory felt a blush of shame penetrate her snow like skin when she noticed Jack sitting there. Wandering over, her back lit in flame from the gazes burning into her. Great... "Sorry I'm late?" She murmured weakly, rubbing the back of her neck in shame as she through a haughty glance to those staring; causing them to quickly look away. Still, her chest rose as a large sigh escaped; her tired form flopping into the opposing chair of the booth so casually. Legs sticking out and hands running through her loose midnight waves, Ivory glanced toward him and smiled petite yet graceful. "Hey!" Great...just great.

This place was either full of crazy people or simply overly conservative people who disliked new comers to their town. He was still getting looks from various people including one particular patron sat at the bar. He seemed far too young to be in this place, but then of course he guessed that Merlotte's was one of those places that simply didn't ask questions. He sighed and glanced at his watch again, wondering where she might be.
Then she walked inside, like a ghost, she suddenly appeared and began to look around. Jack watched her with a mixture of curiosity and amusement as she looked around the bar for him. Eventually she found him and walked over, Jack could only smile at her.
"It's fine, you're not too late." He replied and looked around for a waitress. "I hope you are feeling better after last night's unpleasantness. Did your brother say anything?" He asked with a slight amount of amusement in his voice.

Sookie rushed into the bar after running back to Sam's office, putting her purse in the drawer where everyone kept their belongings to be safe. Tonight she was running a bit late. That was becoming a bit to much of a habit as of late. After her life began with the vampires, she was always late, in danger, near death or late. It was a cycle she wished had not happened, but would not give it up for the world.
The bar was crowded tonight. With the locals of course, doing their daily course of gossip which Sookie planed on tuning out all night. It was enough to get looks for a bite mark on her neck but to hear their thoughts, being so judgemental, it was not worth it. Tune them out Sookie she said to herself as she looked over in her section to see a table of two people who look rather different. Taking out her order booklet, pulling the pen from the apron, she walked over to the table with the famous Sookie Stackhouse smile. "Why, Good Evening. Welcome to Merlotte's. Im your waitress Sookie. What can I get yall tonight?"

Jack decided not to wait for Ivory to reply. "Look, I have something to tell you..." He began, wondering how Ivory would respond to his news. He had been thinking about it for a while now and decided the only way this relationship could continue is if he got the blatantly obvious out of the way first.
Then the waitress came over and interrupted him before he could finish. Jack gulped and decided he might as well let Ivory figure it out for herself. "O negative please." Jack replied slowly and watched both the ladies reactions.

Hands softly twisting through the endless knots that run through out the mess that Ivory's hair had become within the past few hours of lingering within her second home (their beloved store), her eyes wandered around some what as she allowed her brows to raise. Some people couldn't dodge fresh meat...so true in the extent be it metaphorical or not. Still, her gentle smile fluttered its way onto her delicately portrayed features as she looked toward Jack some what. "I'm...feeling much better. Just a bruise here and there" She smirked, gently flicking the one upon her face to show how minor they were. Of course, she flinched some what with the added pressure to the flick, her finger tips gently rubbing the sore spot as she began to grin foolishly at his question. "Aw he's fine...just brooding in a corner for not being there to be the hero". Snickering softly, her petite formed leaned back just as Sookie made her solo appearance.
Smiling in a friendly manner toward the blond, she threw a feeble wave in her direction before glancing toward Jack with a brow rose. It was then her smile seemed to lock on her face in a distraught reaction to his order. Maybe...no. Head tilting to the right some what, it seemed that time had frozen before Ivory could realize what she had done. Flicking Jack's nose harshly, she tried to see some reaction to confirm her sudden shock to his words. Finger hovering in mid air, she allowed her shoulders to slump as she leaned back into the chair with unknown comfort, arms dangling beside her as if a rag doll. "...I'll stick with the orange juice" She murmured quietly as she sat in further silence before blinking.
Allowing the shock to settle, she felt a weak smile penetrate the shocked expression as she rubbed th back of her neck. "...I guess that explains why you handled last night so well" She murmured before paling suddenly. The blood...but..she had been covered correct? Lids fluttering, she allowed her jaw to pop as her eyes stared ever so carelessly. "You're good...very good" She mused, rubbing her chin as each word made no sense, thoughts mixing with actual speech as her shoulders slumped. Vampire...well she hadn't expected that one. Wow.

Jack's face scrunched up to the flick to the nose and he tilted his head to one side, questioning Ivory's motives. She was certainly an odd creature to say the least but that is probably why he was so d**n interested in her. To be honest he could not be surprised by the reaction, she was bound to find out at some point and why not in such a manner as this.
"And an Orange juice as well please." He repeated looking up to the waitress.
"I know it may come as a slight shock to you, but I thought it would be best to tell you now." He said quietly to her and forced a smile onto his face to reassure her. "Though I understand if you want to leave, I mean some people are... wary of people like me."

Maybe Ivory should have just literally crept into the outer stocks within the bar and stole the highest volume of whiskey she could find. Anything Strong. That would surely help...Still, her lids began to flutter in a strange daze as her tongue trailed her bottom lip out of curious thought and habit; eyes glazed unseeing as she dreaming into a dream like state of endless consideration. Ah how whiskey sounded so attractive right now. Shaking her head some what to force herself back into the reality of the night before her, Ivory simply smiled in a strained fashion toward Jack; watching him in a soft manner. "I suppose I should...thank you for telling me" She admitted with a subtle nod, leaning into the comfort of the boot as her petite form seemed to be swallowed by it ever so easily.
After a few moments of silence, her thumbs began to twiddle with one another for no apparent reason. Though, she felt a firm frown set on her pretty features as her eyes narrowed childishly. "You think I'm going to run off just because your a vampy?" She inquired inauspiciously, scoffing out loud as she leaned her head upon her arms; chin resting against the table between them. "I'm not scared of you Jack. You helped me" She pointed out bluntly, accent carrying with her words so fluently as she nodded in reassurance of herself. Grinning toothily and clearly worried over her own terms of words, she felt them being shoved to the back of her mind. Ok...so she had accepted herself into a deed with a vampire. Big whoop. The only issue would be if harm was indeed drawn to her, alongside those silly rumors vampires seemed to hold lingering them.
The only fortunate side? A silver wring the brunette always wore. Strange as it was, it had been passed down and her brother had always murmured about how she should simply give a good swing with that palm to knock a vamp down. Still...would that work? Not actually wishing to inflict such pain, her palms disappeared under the table as her nimble fingers removed the ring; placing it into her back pocket before she nuzzled into the embrace of her arms once more - content. "I suppose you could at least tell me a bit more about yourself now, eh?"

The vampire thought back to the last few people who had said they weren't scared of him. He tore their hearts out as he remembered, but of course he was being pleasant here and so heart tearing was out of the question. Though he was glad to hear that she was not afraid by his revelation of being a vampire, he had half expected her to do some typically Victorian feminine act and race out screaming, but then of course this was the 21st century and times had changed, oh had they changed.
He watched her slowly move around in her chair, perhaps she was uncomfortable about the situation? Jack couldn't blame her, especially if he was the first vampire she had met, or was he? "Am I the first of our kind you have come across? Don't you sell Tru Blood in your store?" He asked, partly to find out if this town had other vampires in it. If there was a community here he would be wise to introduce himself to them.
"Well..." He began. "My name is Jack Ashcroft, I am old... Older then you can imagine and what can I say? I am trying to integrate back into society after centuries of being basically exiled. It gets lonely you know? And other vampires can be ever so mellow dramatic at times or the total opposite..." As Jack knew too well, remembering his feral days in the service of his mistress. A part of him certainly missed those days, they were simple and fun.
He shrugged. "I'm not sure what else I can tell you really? Is there anything specific you wish to know about me?"

Ivory's head remained on the base of her thinly portrayed arms as she began to think over the past many months in which the two years had graced of her store's service to vampires. Of course they had that jolly experience of selling Tru Blood; after all...Tyree wouldn't have had the gory pleasure of attempting to drain someone if it were indeed not for it. "No, we've had one or two vampires...just, not very talkative ones" She admitted with a shrug, acting as if such a thing were indeed nothing. Such species had both been male to be exact, the two only ordering and leaving without a sound or visual appearance - gone like the wind so to say. The only thing Ivory had thought polite was that they had both murmured a subtle thank you before going to do whatever it was they did.
"Haven't seen them since..." Trailing off, her eyes wandered Jack's face in consideration as she took in whatever information he was providing at this current time. Pursing her lips, she shook her head softly causing her loose locks to fall some what in her face quite easily. "Lonely? I know what you mean by mellow dramatic and such...but isn't that entertaining?" She inquired quite seriously, gaze clueless as her body slowly forced its self straight, arms returning to the base of her chest in a casual manner as she simply watched him in consideration - lips twitching in a ghostly smile.
"You can tell me whatever you like whenever you like" Ivory suggested with a growing grin, palms rubbing the back of her neck in ways to release unknown worries within her. Often doing so actually helped; but the fact her fingers were currently tangling in her hair didn't actually aid in such a circumstance. However, there was one minor thing that had always attracted Ivory to the books describing vampires, alongside that great tale about Dracula. "So you've got fangs then?". It was then her smile grew wide, innocent curiosity flowing over into her expression as her head returned to the table once more - resting upon her arms lazily.

Well at least Jack was not the first she had encountered, but he could still see the curiosity in her eyes at meeting a vampire. It must be because Jack was ready to answer her questions and not run away, or even act in a highly brooding way and answer her questions in cryptic wording. Jack was being polite and open about everything.
"We have a tendency to do that, I'm afraid. But I think with the revelation of our existence to the public we can perhaps stay in one place without fear of being hounded." He said with a smile, to reassure Ivory that he was not one for disappearing. But then of course the reason he came to this town was simply to rest for a moment before moving onto Dallas. He was in no hurry though.
"And their brooding personalities may be interesting for a while, but after five hundred or so years of the same thing it can get old." Jack added with a roll of his eyes. "You read one poem by a vampire you've read them all." He said with a chuckle.
He nodded at the question of fangs. "Of course I do." He said and lent close across the table, then rested his head on his palms, covering the sides of his mouth with his fingers to form a kind of tunnel so only Ivory could see his mouth, after all he didn't want the other patrons to get scared. The fangs grew instantly and remained for a few brief seconds before receding.

"Poetry" She said in a simple and blunt tone, raising a brow weakly as she chuckled some what. "I'm...not exactly the kind for poetry" Ivory admitted weakly in a quiet tone hoping her honesty wouldn't make things worse. True enough, the brunette liked nothing more than to sit and read a book; mostly something of nothing realistic. In truth, it aided her in escaping from this small town into something more interesting. As for poetry...that maybe all jazzy and shiz, but she just never seen the beauty in it.
Though, her sapphire gaze simply widened at the aspect of seeing those fangs appear to her. Withdrawing the temptation to reached forward and prod them; within the blink of an eye they had retreated once more. A foolish grin formed as she kept in such close proximity; laughing some what under her breath in extreme shock of amazement. "That's so cool!" She breathed, tone subtle as she locked eyes with Jack himself, grin never fading.
"Geesh, the only interesting thing in my mouth is a filling" She murmured in a daze, snickering some what as she softly glanced around the room within seconds - noting people glancing over their shoulders. Silly people...then again, it was typical for them to be nosy, correct? After all, Ivory was often one to stand and stare when things became strange and unique.

Sookie took down the orders. From the brain waves, she could tell that he was not human. Vampire of course. And this was solidified by the order of blood, True Blood. "O negative it is! And an Orange Juice for you! Coming right up! Anything else, just give me a holler!" She said with a smile. Did this vampire think Sookie was going to flip seeing him? He must not have heard of the infamous barmaid who frollics with the vampires. But this works on her side, in some cases with the undead type. But the girl? Was she a fangbanger?
Sookie went and got the blood and juice. She warmed it to a 98.6 degree. Walking back to the table, she said "Here ya go. A nice warm to body temp and for you, orange juice." She placed both to the people, who seemed deep in conversation.

"Well they are ..." He began but was interrupted by the waitress placing the drinks down. He sat back in his chair to make room for the bottle and the glass and smiled at the waitress. "Thank you miss." He said and grasped the bottle, pulling it closer toward him. It was the best he could get without murdering and so it had to do. He turned the bottle absent minded and smiled.
"This will do nicely, again my thanks." He said glancing up at the waitress. Then a thought struck his mind. She had no reacted to his revelation, either she was fine with serving vampires or she knew some. "Do many of my kind come here miss? I am just curious how big the community is. I would like to meet a few perhaps." He asked.
