SPOILER ALERT (for the show) OK, so I know that when I was done watching the last episode, I wanted to run over here and start talking about what was going on! So I thought we should have a thread where we keep talking about each new episode. So last episode I actually have been growing to like Stan Davis...a lot. I know he's not geeky like he's supposed to be, but I kinda dig the cowboy look and I don't know what everyone else thought, but when Godrick told the Dallas vampires to stop their attack and Stan was just licking his fangs, staring at that guy's neck, I thought that was great. Also: I LOVE that Steve Newlin got shot in the head! Great shot, Jason! And how he kept the paint on instead of wiping it off so he looked like a moving target. And Rose knows the best quote from that episode: (this is paraphrasing, I don't remember exactly) Sookie: He is your maker, right? Eric: Don't use words you don't understand. Sookie: I can tell you have a lot of love for him. Eric: Don't use words I don't understand. What do you all think?

Hate that they are girl thingy whipping Godrick, he needs to gtfo of the show. I hate the way they made him.
Other than that, I think they are doing great. As long as they get the MAIN characters to look as they are supposed to, then I'm fine with it. I liked how it ended as well...
I'm sorry if you like Godrick, but man, his personality is craptastic. A vampire that is all like "Let's hold hands, pick daisies, and be friends forever!" I'm not digging it...

I do wish they'd stuck to the book storyline for Godric, was much more interesting and it would really shake Eric and create some turmoil there. Other than that, totally loved the episode. Jason was awesome and hilarious. The stakes are being raised with Maryann. The souffle eghads that was so wrong lmao. How could Tara and Eggs not see that? Sam....aw my poor Sam Guy needs a hug Sue: I totally dig TV Stan, I did miss the geeky nerdy Vampire from the book, but it's like they sort of merged him with Farrell at least in appearance.

I can't see the book Godric working on TV for what he was and all, *shrugs*. Loving Stan's cowboy look, I agree with you Summer in the sanctuary when he was told to stop mhmm. Tara and Eggs...just weird what's going on, wondering how much longer it will take them to realise something more is wrong. I love Sam cause he's cute, but I think so much more Eric to see. And the quote well just my fav bit

I think for what Godric was would make it interesting and really challenging. That's one of the things I love about TB, is that it doesn't seem afraid to do stuff it pushes boundaries.

I was also upset with godrick. I really wish he acted like a vampire, or at least a man but hey, he did save Skokie from lorena. The show has made it even easier for me to enjoy her future... I wished they had Luna, but I agree with mixing stan and farrell except you can tell stan's sexual preference. He's pretty good looking. And eric's little human imitation... Cute

Well it would have been interesting and of course challenging as you say, but they have to look at it from a ratings view and from what HBO would say, so I wasn't surprised when they didn't represent Godric more closely to how he was in the book. Though I'm sure there is more to come, especially since he has returned to his home.

Loved the episode, possibly my favorite of ther season.
I like Godric, it provides a new angle to the whole series and promotes this idea of vampires becomming part of society.
Eric and Jason's little moment was hilarious, as was Jason and Bill's moment, in fact Jason was just awesome throughout.
The stuff going on with Mary-Ann is just weird and screwed up.
And I reckon that bomb is either gonna fail to go off, kill godric, or start a war proper.

I honestly don't think the ratings would be affected that badly, if at all. HBO I presume wouldn't care about it. It doesn't matter anyway, I suppose as they seem to be taking Godric in a whole different direction. I do like him and Alan Hyde acts brilliantly in his role.
Stan is really good looking, I have to admit I get a little distracted when he's on screen. He's a real physical presence.

Ahahaha, my thoughts exactly, Summer. I feel really bad for Jessica. It was a really interessting concept that if you don't lose your virginity before you become a vampire, you will be one forever. Poor Jessica and Hoyt. I wish they would have dealt with Hugo the way they did in the books though. And poor Sam does need a hug, poor guy goes through almost as much as Sookie and no one gives him a bath and rubs his tummy.
Jason had the ultimate comeback to Steve and I applauded him plus the bill and Jason moment made me laugh. If anything this bomb better not hurt sookie, bill, eric, Jason, or stan or I shall weep

Man, I wish I had posted earlier..... lol
So, well, I love the Godrick in the show. I think he represents alot of himself from the book...given he was ready to die due to his evilness...but they just made it happen in a different way in the show. I rather enjoy him. Im a fan of veering off from the books because otherwise it would be a documentary (direct quote from Alan Ball the creator).
The Eric maker quote...I wanted to melt. I LOVE Eric so passionately!
Jason was GANGSTA. The Jason Bill hug, I giggled so flipping much.
Lorena was a huge steer from the books, and Im fine with that. I just hate her just as much as I hated her in the books.
The Lukeanator with the bomb. OMG! I agree Sue, our best peeps better not be hurt!
I cant stand Marryanne....she makes me sick. Thats a huge difference from the book, and its all for the ratings. All she is doing, turning Bon Temps upside down, uncool. Im so angry at her for taking over Sookie's house. I cant wait for her to get home and go off in the typical Sookie fashion.

Bill won't be injured at all because he left the building to escort Lorena on Godric's orders. I've never read the books yet, so I have no idea what the characters are like in them, but I love all of them in the show lol. I think I might be the only one who likes Lorena, or atleast feels a bit sorry for her. And I might also be the only one interested in what Maryann has planned. I tend to like the evil characters I guess . And yes, Stan is a super sexy cowboy!

I am only half way through the first book, so I have not come across some of the characters, Stan, Godric, etc, yet. However in the show, wow. I watched a preview of the next episode on HBO and the wow again. Go check it out to get a little sneak peak. I like how Godric just wants some kind of peace between everyone, it does make sense in that way. That is if you look at it strictly from the series point of view and not through the books. Jason was absolutely fan-freaking-tastic and I loved it when he took the gun away from Sarah, then later shot Steve between the eyes, I laughed so much. I felt so bad for Jessica, being a virgin for eternity, that would suck. And Maryanne, I liked her at first, but now, not so much. Maybe it is because I don't like "god" type characters who just seem to get away with anything they want without repercussions of any kind. So I hope there is someone who can stand up to her and slap her. If Sookie did that after finding out what was going on in her house, I think the ratings would go through the roof! I really like the way little bits and pieces of Eric's personality comes out, like his loyalty and such. In my opinion, it is like he knows so much more then he really lets on, and yet, there is still a lot he is learning. And Henry, I feel sorry for Lorena too. She really loves Bill and can't seem to understand why he doesn't love her. It is kind of heart breaking in a way. I can't wait until the next one.

I quite like Lorena too...and it is quite sad to see her pine after Bill when he's made it clear he has no feelings for her whatsoever.
